“Unlocking Your Business Wealth?
Brian is a specialist in business growth. He is extremely passionate about helping business owners build wealth in their business so they can become financially independent in the future and enjoy the lifestyle financial freedom brings.
Many business owners run their business with the focus on personal income, and the freedom of time.
However, the business can also be a valuable financial asset worth much more than the salary being earned. Business wealth is an asset that can create financial independence for the business owner.
Many business owners also put too much wealth in their business and when they wish to use this equity find it difficult to get out, or extremely expensive to get out. In many cases, it can be lost due to the market and elements of the business environment.
In this book, Brian discusses the building of business wealth and the opportunities it creates. Each chapter is a steppingstone to create business wealth.
A great short read, and necessary if you are an entrepreneur.
Brian discusses parts of the book, how it will help you grow your business and help you to avoid the traps that you may experience in your business life.

Qualified Retirement Plans Chaos For High Earning Business Owners!
It is very common for an employer to think in terms of a qualified retirement program when they think of saving money for their retirement. The idea to have one seems to make sense. Deductibility, tax deferred, business cash flow, and growth. Also, the accountant will normally jump on this idea, because it is another tax deduction.
However, for the high income business owner, the qualified retirement plan can create chaos in retirement for the business owner for a number of reasons discussed in this podcast.

Business Succession The Easy And Fast Way!
Tom discusses why over 80% of the businesses in the country do not have a succession plan for their business.
Surprisingly, business owners consider themselves entrepreneurs. However, there is a dichotomy to the extent that they spend all their time building, growing and making the business successful, but virtually little if any time, to the extraction of the value of the company when it is time to transition out of the company.
Tom has a system that takes two hours a month to help business owners create a succession plan a fast and easy. Way!

Blink of An Eye!
Your "Lifetime Of Efforts" wasted and lost in the blink of an eye. No succession planning to continue your business, or extract the value of your business. No way of building the greatest and most potential value of your business. Tom speaks of his personal situation with his dad's business. He discusses the effects on his family, especially his mom.
His 50+ years of experience helps him explain his passion of helping business owners get this part of their business completed. The dichotomy is that business owners spend all their time starting, building and growing their business, but don't spend the time to create the plan when the business must end because of retirement, death, become disabled, or just need to get out of the business because they had it. www.yourbusinessworth.com
Jeff Mason, is a "traditional values" guy with a lovely wife, and three children who loves to spend as much time as he can with them, doing outside activities. He and his wife, raise their children traditionally and institutes a value system for them.
He runs a phenomenal business that is worldwide, bringing technology into the moving business, and seems to be well ahead of his peers in innovating the business. He is a very smart businessman, very humble, and great to talk to.
He has used technology to increase other areas of profitability in his business, as he keeps the tradition of the moving business, but has been innovating is discovering more modern pockets of service.
The one thing that sticks out with Jeff is that he puts values first, not only with his family, himself and also his employees. His biggest concern is to give value to the employees. He's quite a humble person, and the type of nice person you don't meet every day. Jeff is a version of Traders Joe, or Costco, in that building a home for his employees and treating like family. His culture works very well.
I really enjoyed having him on our podcast, he was a breath of fresh air. You will love meeting Jeff. He's a fourth generation owner and purchased the business from his dad. Thee business was started in 1929 by his great grandfather. That's all you need to know about Jeff to know he is pure quality. Check his company out for your moving needs. Also, check Jeff’s company out for the innovated areas he is serving people.

Unknown Ways You “Shipwreck” Your Business!
This blog post is for the business owners who want to make sure their planning is solid and won’t shipwreck their businesses, estates and legacy. However, because of past experiences dealing with some professionals, their planning is incomplete, and they have put their financial planning on hold. In summary, they are motivated to make sure they have good plans but are frustrated with the system of getting their planning efficiently completed.
Throughout my career I have often wondered why business owners put things off that should not be delayed, as the price of doing nothing can be very costly. Ask any attorney how many unsigned wills they have in their file cabinets and watch them roll their eyes.
Listen to my discussion with Bill about his business and estate and how we moved forward in planning and why!

Dana Broslovsky, co-owner of Alda Aesthetics Med Spa in Hanover, MA visited with us to share some ideas, strategies, and experiences in opening a business with her co-partner Alyssa D’Arcy about five and a half years ago.
Alda has grown considerably and when you consider they dealt with Covid as a new company, they have done extremely well. Dana and Alyssa blend very nicely. The two have separate talents that mesh and contribute to their success and is a large part of why they are growing consistently. Soon they will be moving into a much larger location.
One of the great things about the company is that all the employees share the same value system. They love what they do, love the customers, and like learning more about their profession.
Dana and Alyssa treat the employees like family and enjoy creating a culture where the employees are growing in their profession, and love coming to work.
The fact that they survived Covid and reinvented themselves while going through it, gives them greater strength and knowledge as they continue their growth in business.
I especially loved their attitude about being an example for their families. They can utilize their business ability, grow a company and still be there for their families.
This is a wonderful message about a group of women, working together for the greater cause, caring very much about their customers, and only wanting the best for them.
When I asked Dana, what distinguishes Alda from others, she quickly said, “we care more about our customers”.

GREAT NEW BOOK BY
YOURS, Mine & Ours
By: Paul Hood, JR. JD. LLM. CFRE, FCED
A great honor to have on my podcast, Paul Hood, an extraordinary person. A wonderful technical author with over nine books, and many articles published. His new book is a must read for professional planners, blended families, or anyone interested in arranging their estate properly. The book is focused on the blended family, which is one of the only a few resources I have seen on this topic. Paul has been writing about blended families for over 25 years.
Paul’s passion is all about helping people determine the best estate plan that suits their needs and building that plan with a solid legal foundation. As far as Paul feels, this is the best way to help people achieve their dreams while preserving relationships, peace, and prosperity through major life transitions.
“When it comes to estate planning, people often think about wills, trusts, foundations, and family entities, in other words, the “bricks” of estate planning. The “bricks” are important, but even more important is the emotional infrastructure supporting those” bricks,” which really is the “mortar” of the estate plan. I’ve included a graphic description of the bricks and mortar of estate planning on this page to illustrate my point.”
This is a wonderful book, and as far as I am concerned this is the “operational manual” to making sure you set up the right kind of estate planning.

There’s $$$ in Mistakes……..
Imagine, for a moment, that you were to take a different view of your business and what you provided to your clients or customers.
What if….when asked “so,….what do you do?”, you decide to deal with this marketing opportunity a bit differently, strategically and creatively than before? What if you decided to give yourself a competitive advantage over everyone else being asked the same question?
Dr. Dan Schaefer, PhD joined us today and discussed ideas to create more efficiency in our professions, be more effective and have fun while you are doing it.
“First…. what do YOU want to have happen after you answer this all too common question?”CREATING FASTER RESULTS IN YOUR PROFESSION
We discuss his book click, sports Parents, “Trifecta”. Ever parent needs to read about about Dan’s take on this area of working with the student athelet.
“A great hockey player with mediocre grades complained to me that his parents were on top of him because of
his grades (high 70's to low 80's). Having already spoken about college and ultimately the NHL I surprised
him when I mentioned that the way I looked at it was that his parents did not make much of a difference. What REALLY made a difference, I pointed out, were the college coaches who would love to recruit him but were
not sure he could keep his grades up once in school.”
On the podcast Dan shared with us some of his strategies such as:

The Pellegrino Law firm is an iconic law firm filled with many traditions and continually adds value to the firm, the community, and to its clients.
Coming up on its 100th anniversary the Pellegrino law firm, founded by Bernard Pellegrino in 1929 retains its historic value while providing exemplary client service.
This is a law firm that is home to the attorneys who love working there which is why it has enjoyed so little turnover.
For almost 100 years, the founder and succeeding partners of the firm have kept the traditions that the firm was built upon. It is not by accident that employees and attorneys love and treat this firm like their family and are proud to be a part of it.
It starts with the beautiful 1896 Victorian Building on the corner of Willow St and Whitney Ave, in New Haven, CT.
As you arrive through big, beautiful doors you will be greeted by a smiling receptionist, or a staff person happy to accommodate you in any way they can. Do not be surprised if the receptionist offers you an espresso, or a cup of coffee.
Walk around the building and in addition to its beauty, you will meet the nicest people who put your interests first. You can tell the staff love their work and helping the clients of the firm.
The attorneys of the firm are very well educated and ingrained in their community which is one of the prerequisites for working in the firm. Community involvement and giving back to the community is essential and a tradition the founder Bernard Pellegrino Sr. passed on to his sons, Bernie Jr, and Joe, as well as the other attorneys that followed them. The firm seriously believes in giving back to their clients through community involvement.
Another prerequisite is that the attorneys continually educate themselves in their specialty, so that their clients are getting the best representation possible.
There are no surprises when you work with The Pellegrino Law firm, from how they will represent you to what they will charge you. The service is impeccable and professional from the attorneys to the staff who cares.
This is truly a remarkable firm and has remained consistent with the high standards set by its founder, Bernard Pellegrino Sr, when he started The Pellegrino Law firm so many years ago.

Growing Strong Leaders And Teams To Create More Efficiency In Your Business!
That is exactly what Meredith Bell does. She is the Co-Founder and President of Performance Support Systems, a global software company based in Virginia. Besides developing award winning assessment and development tools used in all types of businesses, Meredith is the author of several books. Today, we discuss, Connect with Your Team, and Peer Coaching Made Simple co-authored with Dr. Denny Coates, her business partner of 30 years.
The combination of both of these books used in a “learning capacity” may be one of the most important things a company owner can do to start creating a long-term positive culture and long-term efficiency in their business.
It’s been proven that you can learn how to improve your communication skills; and in their books, Meredith and Denny share a great number of strategies. However, as Meredith will tell you, you need a support system and an ongoing discipline to master many of the skills needed to interact with others more effectively and efficiently.
During the podcast we covered why communication skills are hard skills, not soft skills, what’s required to master a skill, and how a company can provide coaching for everyone without breaking the bank. We discussed the characteristics of great listeners and how to encourage someone to perform at the highest level. In addition to this conversation, which is filled with a number of great suggestions from Meredith, you can also go to their website and download a free resource called, “Grow Strong Leaders and Teams Facilitator Guide.” This tool explains how to set up a system of peer coaches, so you create a coaching culture in your company.
A culture value driver is one of the most important elements a business owner can have in their firm. It has value, it makes hiring the right people much easier and it creates greater potential value for the firm when it goes to market to sell. This information is valuable for people who work in groups or one on one.
You can contact Meredith Bell at meredith@growstrongleaders.com or call 757-656-4765.
