  1. A leader needs the guts to stand alone and look ridiculous.
  2. But what the leader is doing is so simple it is almost instructional.
     a. this is Key - you must be easy to follow.
  3. The first follower has a crucial role. - He publicly shows everyone else how to follow. You stand out and brave ridicule yourself. This is an under appreciated form of leadership
  4. The 1st follower transforms the lone nut into a leader.
  5. If the leader is the flint. The 1st follower is the spark that makes the fire.
  6. The 2nd follower is a turning point. It must be public and everyone must see the followers because new followers emulate followers not the leader.
  7. Now more followers arrive and this is the tipping point. More followers join in and now it is no longer risky to be a follower. They won’t stand out, they won’t be ridiculed and they will be a part of the in crowd.
  8. Recap -
        1. nurture your 1st few followers as equals.
        2. Make it about the movement not you
        3. be public
        4. be easy to follow
        5. know that leadership is over glorified
        6. It is the 1st follower that transfers a lone nut into a leader.
        7. Courageously follow when you see a lone nut doing something great
        8. have the guts to be the first person to stand up and join in!
