We also hear from City Engineer Kelly Henshaw, who puts it quite plainly: PICK UP YOUR DOG'S POO, BRO! Fecal matter left in yards and along city streets does not break down and fertilize soil, but it DOES wash into storm drains and deposit untreated into our local streams and regional watersheds. This can cause major problems for those ecosystems.

The Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival ("The Bloom," for short), is an annual festival held in Winchester, Virginia that draws thousands to the streets of downtown for various activities and celebrations. The annual celebration number doesn't quite match up to the year that the festival began, however, as throughout history, some extenuating circumstances have caused the organizers to cancel the fan-favorite festival. Tim Y the History Guy explains in this month's episode of Winchester 101.
