Songwriter, topliner and vocalist Harper Lake first made waves on the UK bass scene with Hackman’s breakthrough single ‘Always’, a Rinse FM anthem. Since then she’s worked with dubstep originator Oris J, Venezuelan tropical dons Pocz & Pacheko for a release on Kid 606’s legendary Tigerbeat label and ‘Watching’ with New York Transit Authority, a broodingly heavy slice of electro on Redlight’s Lobster Boy. She’s recently been writing and collaborating with a host of exciting house producers in Beatport’s Amsterdam studios. She was one of the 16 talents selected for the first Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) Writers Camp.
I have loved this song by Londa Ronstadt since I was a teenager so it was such a pleasure to see it thrown back into the public consciousness by The Last of Us. My friend Daniel Kemish and I recorded it live during a session at Homefire studio in North Yorkshire and we both felt that we should put it out as my first single. Do you like it? Let me know!
