Westpointe's very own, Mark Garcia, delivers this Mother's Day message; honoring the mothers and women of Westpointe. Mark reminds us that spiritual mothers are just as instrumental in nurturing as earthly mothers. Using Paul's letter to TItus and Mark's Gospel, Mark highlights God's view on what family is and the role of women of the faith.
This Sunday, Blake McDaniel talks about the history of the Tabernacle and the camp of Israel. There were giants in the land, but it was promised to God's People. Before taking the land, the Israelites needed to understand their worth and have someone in their corner... they are not unlike the modern church.

Trudy is the author of "Between 2 Gods: A Memoir of Sexual Abuse in the Mennonite Church", and counsels victims of sexual abuse and violence.

That is, entering into people's lives and create an environment that allows them to encounter the living God.

"Who am I?", is the question we ask ourselves today. Do we know who we are in Christ? Do we know our identity? Well the key to those questions is honor. God has given us honor. Beyond all measure. And we are called to also pour out honor on those around us. We are given the mission to call others into their destiny into who they are. We are called to lift others up with honor. Honor does the work we are not able to do in our human selves. Honor allows us to live up to our potential. Honor to the end.
The desire to leave a legacy is a desire to have the life you've lived matter beyond death. This week we look at the legacy we leave as we build our family. It is very easy to feel anxious when starting our family, knowing that we see our parents reproduced in us and we often fear that we are just going to, in turn, reproduce ourselves in our children. (most notably the things we wish we could change about ourselves) There is no reason to be afraid. We have everything we need to change the course of the history of our family.
Looking at the life of another local hero of the Faith, we examine what keeps us from going from that place where we encounter the saving grace of God to walking in the true identity that we have in Christ Jesus - a masterpiece created in His image.

What it looks like when you are intentional about being in HIs presence and what it looks like when your life lacks it. Take a moment to ask God, "What are you doing right now in this season of my life?".
He says He stole back the keys to death and the grave. He wants to unlock everything that we would say is death or hell in our lives. Do we believe that He is present and wants to meet us in our own life?
The scriptures say that Jesus sympathizes with our weaknesses and has been in all ways tempted in every possible way we could be. We look at how we tend to always feel isolated in the challenges we face in life; how we feel alone to deal with the difficult circumstances life has thrown at us. We are not alone. We have a savior that understands us, and we have people all around us who have been through the very things we have been through.
