Dr. Joseph Markowitz received his initial medical education in New Jersey; however, it was during his early years in SC that he found his calling in the field of psychiatry. In fact, in 2003, Dr. Joseph Markowitz was awarded the prestigious Columbia Behavioral Health System Award of Excellence for his work in psychiatry in SC, having already become an accomplished individual prior to completing his residency.
Joseph Markowitz works in SC and is an addiction psychiatrist. His work in the state began around two years ago after he relocated from Florida. Joseph Markowitz is a member of the SC Psychiatric Association and the American Psychiatric Association. He enjoys watching sports in his free time.
SC Addiction Psychiatrist Dr. Joseph Markowitz is currently working as a psychiatrist at Prisma Health whilst simultaneously filling the role of Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at the University of South Florida, allowing him to treat a variety of cases and share his experience on those cases with others. Dr. Joseph Markowitz obtained his license from the SC Department of Mental Health, after which he did his psychiatry residency at Palmetto Health Alliance.
