We also believe there is great value in hearing other people's stories. We believe that exploring foundational ideas and beliefs through diverse personal stories is instrumental in order to discover more meaningful paths, greater happiness, and accelerated growth in one’s life.
Dallas Woodburn is a writer of fiction, nonfiction, and plays. Her debut YA novel, The Best Week That Never Happened, is forthcoming from Month9Books in April 2020. Her collection of short stories Woman, Running Late, in a Dress was published in 2018 by Yellow Flag Press and won the Cypress & Pine Short Fiction Award. A 2014 Steinbeck Fellow in Creative Writing at San Jose State University, Dallas also won the international Glass Woman Prize and is a four-time nominee for the Pushcart Prize. Her short stories have appeared in ZYZZYVA, The Nashville Review, The Fourth River, Superstition Review, Louisiana Literature, Monkeybicycle, Cicada, North Dakota Quarterly, and many other journals, as well as American Fiction 13: The Best Unpublished Short Stories by Emerging American Writers. Her nonfiction has been published in Family Circle, Writer’s Digest, The Writer, The Los Angeles Times, Modern Loss, and more than two dozen Chicken Soup for the Soul series books. Her plays have been produced in New York City, Los Angeles, South Lake Tahoe, and Maryland.

Joshua Shea is a father of two and husband living in Maine. On the outside, people saw a successful magazine publisher, film festival founder and city councilor. For a long time, he hid my mental health issues, pornography and alcohol addictions from the world. In 2014, he was charged with possession of under age pornography after taking a screen capture of a teen girl in an online chatroom. Joshua served six months in jail for it in 2016.
Today, he work as a ghostwriter and has several years of sobriety under his belt. Elliott was married for 10 years. Like a lot of men, he thought he was a good husband and father. Then he got divorced. At the age of twelve Max and his family moved to the USA from Brazil seeking a better life on the land of opportunity. It did not take them too long to realize that the American dream differs from the American reality.. A few months after Max moved to the US, he lost his vision due to Retinitis Pigmentosa which is an eye condition that affects 0.025% of the US population. With no sight and no language, he had to work three times harder than everyone else. Not only that, but he had to deal with the system that did and still does an unimaginable injustice to individuals with disabilities. It is very easy for anyone to quit at any given time. Max could have given up and simply quit. He could have, but he did not. He preferred to struggle and strive.
With his passion and love to help others and serve humanity, he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Master’s in social work. As an intern he worked with both of the local and international communities during his five years of service in the mental health field. Most importantly, Maximiliano Campos is the host
and creator of the Blind Hour Podcast. A show created to advocate for the rights of individuals with visual disabilities, and educate people through his humorous and genuine approach to day to day life.
