Laura tells us the tale of the death of America's Favorite Doctor, her new home of Miami, Florida, she asks us about Gen Z answers to modern-day healthcare and insurance, and she also asks who is the Messi guy on the backs of all these shirts on South Beach. Hey! Thanks for hanging out. We know it's been an odd year from the IAC side. A lot of projects are going on here in Louisiana and we're still learning how to manage them all, but we're trying and admitting when we're wrong.
You deserve better shows from us. We have a higher standard for ourselves... and it's time we take ownership of that. We want to fix it, even if it means we only do one each month for a while. We'd rather give you one good show that's longer than two lazy shows that are less than an hour long.
We'll get back to two shows a month soon, but this feels like the sustainable move with Sports & Other Drugs and the United Soccer Lounge gaining their legs under the IAC Productions banner.

IAC takes a show off to promote a new show in the IAC family, 'Sports & Other Drugs.'

As we are a Louisiana-based podcast, it felt fitting to do this and with the support of the folks at Spotify, we did. To kick off 2022, we did a house call to Riley’s alma mater, Sam Houston High School in Lake Charles, LA, to chat with his former English teacher and now seasoned Zoom user Amelia Meiburg about teaching through the COVID-19 pandemic and the effect on students, parents, and educators alike. Conversation included talk of how Calcasieu Parish (our local “county”) handled the shutdown, what the summer was like, the return to school, Hurricane Laura, Hurricane Delta, the 2021 Winter Storms in Louisiana/Texas, and the major flood that struck our city in May 2021… yeah, I know. @RileyJamesIAC talks about the year that was with IAC, the behind the curtain things about the last 12 months, and runs through the best and worst moments of the show’s year.
First guest for the Bowl Game was our favourite Canadian, Sabrina Belmonte! Her knowledge about college football is almost nonexistent, but she had a fun time guessing at our list.
Third segment is previewing 2022. Some new ideas for different types of episodes, potential guests, and projected growth of the show were all topic of conversation as we head into Year 5 of If Anyone Cares.
The second guest for the Bowl Game was Ana Bellinghausen. The sports reporter’s intellect about college football is the biggest thing to watch going into that part of the show.

I had one of my very best friends. He's a college professor at McNeese State University and a Mathematical Science graduate of Louisiana Tech and McNeese State.
