It's time to discuss all the amazing news coming from Lucasfilm animation as only two fangirls can! Please welcome Grace back to the studio as she and Shay talk about everyone's favorite cartoons in a galaxy far, far away!
On this episode, we talk about the upcoming STAR WAR: RESISTANCE show, as well as the return of THE CLONE WARS!! We go over the animation style of Resistance and the reaction it's gained so far, as well as our thoughts on the whole thing, including Dave Filoni's involvement and how it measures up to the history of Star Wars animation. We break down the teaser trailer in slo-mo and get incredibly confused regarding the names of most of the characters. Then we cover that amazing news about The Clone Wars, and how that show returning might be dictating some things concerning Resistance.
Apologies for some of the confusion about characters names and such; since this episode was recorded before the latest information dropped, we were pretty much winging it!

There's been a lot of craziness in the Star War fandom lately, so we've decided it's time to take a quick detour into another fandom that needs some serious love right now: the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
Shay and return guest Aceofstars16 are here and more than ready to obsess about Marvel. Peter Parker, Tony Stark, and Dr. Strange haters beware: Infinity War broke our hearts and we will not hold back any love from these amazing heroes. We also discuss details of AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR, SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING, and DOCTOR STRANGE at length, so if there's anyone who's still planning to play catch-up on the movies thus far, beware of major spoilers! We also go over our favorite MCU ships (including several very obscure ones,) give some due credit to several ridiculously underrated Marvel ladies, and discuss how fictional stories, even the most heartbreaking ones, help us cope with the real world.

Shay is thrilled to welcome TEP blogger Audrey to the podcast!! Together the two girls talk about the newest installment in the Star Wars movie series, SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY. They keep their fangirling spoiler-free for the first 6 minutes, but after that, the floodgates are open, and they don't hold back! Was there anyone truly "good" or "bad" in this film? Will we be seeing a sequel or follow-up to SOLO? What did **** really want with Qi'ra?? And that one character who we all now love!! We also discuss some of the cool references and easter eggs hidden throughout this movie and do our best to answer a listener question about crossovers from other parts of the Star Wars universe.

The Elven Padawan podcast is back from hiatus!
Shay is joined by fellow teen fangirl, Grace, who also happens to be an up-and-coming fan artist. As you've come to expect from this podcast, the episode starts out with a review of the most recent Star Wars news; they review the most recent batch of Forces of Destiny shorts and discuss whether they believe these are "necessary" additions to the Star Wars franchise; they cover the announcement of Star Wars Resistance, their ideas on the new style for the show, and which returning characters they would most like to see come into play; and with the premire of Solo: A Star Wars Story only a short way ahead, they discuss their feelings towards the film, and the characters of Han Solo and Lando Calrissian in general. Finally, in honor of Mother's Day, they discuss some of the great mother characters throughout the saga, with a special emphasis on Leia Organa and Hera Syndulla. They also fail miserably with any attempt to NOT rant for a half hour about Star Wars Rebels.

In which Shay begins the podcast by delivering a rant about how she sees the current state of things in fandoms, and how it bothers her, and finishes by offering some thoughts about the latest episodes of Star Wars Rebels.
For the first almost-hour of the podcast, I talk about what I see happening to our fandoms and places of escape, and how it bothers are worries me. Although I'm a little nervous about letting everyone hear my thoughts on this, this is something that has really been eating at me a lot lately, and I felt it was time to share. I hope this doesn't upset anyone, and hopefully, it will help someone out there.
The latter part of the podcast is me giving a brief review on those big reveals in the last several episodes of Star Wars Rebels, and my personal theory about how the appearance of Force ghosts is determined.

It's finally time for Shay's thoughts on STAR WARS VIII: THE LAST JEDI!!! Actually, it's more like unorganized ranting about different main aspects of the film here... Shay explores her thoughts on The Force Awakens and how they compare to The Last Jedi, and what she thought of the film overall. Then she goes into some thoughts on the character highpoints: Rey's development, Rey and Kylo's relationship, Luke's change and whether it destroys his character or not, and more. In celebration of the premier of Star Wars VIII: THE LAST JEDI, there's something really special going on with The Elven Padawan: a whole episode of your pre-TLJ thoughts! This week, Shay is joined by guest Elias, and together they cover the recent Star Wars news and some thoughts on The Last Jedi, then dive into discussion. Then also go over the mid-season finale of Rebels, especially in relation to Hera Syndulla, and what Grand Admiral Thrawn has in store for her. Then it just goes major Thrawn from there. They talk about his motives behind catching Hera, why he's truly with the Empire, what the Chiss were afraid of, what's up between him and Pryce, how Ruhk fits into it all. Elias helps fill Shay in how it all goes in Legends, and they compare to what's going on in New Canon. Shay also spoils the Thrawn novel, and Elias has a super interesting thought about Chiss and Ewoks! (Seriously. I know what you're thinking, but hear it out.) There are lots of interesting thoughts and speculations in here, and Shay finally shares her theory about how Ahsoka might show up in Rebels.

In this episode recorded during Tolkien Week 2017, Shay and guest Max talk about - try to guess - that's right, Tolkien! Finally getting to the "Erebor" part of "From Erebor to Echo Base", Shay gives the history on Tolkien Week and Hobbit Day, then jumps into a discussion of Middle-earth, including The Silmarillion, books vs. movies, connections between Tolkien's world and Christian theology, and more! (Of course, Shay has to bring up the connections between Treebeard and the Bendu.)
