The Whole Ref’n Show FROM HELL!!! On this week’s episode, our heroes Daryn and Perry discuss VICE’s Dark Side of the Ring episode about WWE’s 2002 “Plane Ride From Hell.” Everybody’s got opinions, but our boys are the only ones calling “right down the middle!” Believe that! From the accusations against Ric Flair, Scott Hall and Dustin Runnels, to the commentary of Mike Chioda, RVD and Justin Credible, we discuss childish behavior, unprofessional behavior and illegal behavior. Please fasten your safetybelts, there will be some turbulence. There is also discussion this week about Big E’s title win as well as Samoa Joe’s title surrender. Also, we almost went with the intro, “The Whole Ref’n Show 2.0,” so you know we are talking about the debut of the “spin-art brand,” NXT2.0! What are they doing in Orlando!? And what did AEW find in Flushing Meadows? NOT Fran Drescher, but perhaps a “MOTY” candidate between Bryan Danielson and Kenny Omega! It was the “Grand Slam Dynamite” tennis extravaganza from Arthur Ashe Stadium, and AEW is starting to look like the company they promised they would be (minus the tennis part)! It’s another fantastic episode, #dearlisteners! Thanks for listening!

Where did we learn to speak English? College… and the Police Academy movies! That couldn’t be more evident than in this week’s edition of the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle! And believe it or not, there’s beaucoups #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews as the boys cover the ALL OUT fallout!! In the wake of the most surprise-tastic AEW card yet, our heroes Daryn and Perry dissect what it means to get the 1-2 punch of Adam Cole (baybay!) and Bryan Danielson debuting in the same segment… and guess what? The boys DO NOT agree on this at all! Hear all about Ruby Soho and Minoru Suzuki also appearing at ALL OUT and much, much more from Tony Khan’s cavalcade of vanilla midgets! And it doesn’t end there, #dearlisteners… NXT: Spin-Art Edition gets roasted, toasted and burnt to a crisp. On a more somber note, we say goodbye to “The Scream Queen” Daffney Unger, the one of a kind talent that passed away this week. Hug a friend, call your mother and download and subscribe to The Whole Ref’n Show! **Bonus drinking game this week: drink every time Perry says Bryan Danielson’s name wrong!

It’s called a “The Whole Ref’n Show pop” now, so get it right or pay the price! Our heroes Daryn and Perry dive headfirst into criticism of the otherwise much lauded return of C.M. Punk. As the artist formerly known as Philip Jujitsu Brooks made a huge splash in Chicago on AEW Rampage, the internet broke, they renamed the “Road Warrior pop,” Tommy Dreamer fell in love with a crying guy, and wrestling fans fought in the streets over ice cream bars and banded t-shirts! I guess the dude really IS a cult of personality. As for the company that Punk shit all over in his return speech, WWE had their annual SummerSlam weekend, emanating partially from the city that never knew a Sunday, Las Vegas! On a Saturday night, WWE hosted a superspreader event of 56,000+ and feted 2 massive surprise returns of their own, resulting in 2 massive unsurprising burials. Our boys get back to formula this week by speaking with great zeal about the WTFamania that is WWE booking. Daryn and Perry discuss every match from SummerSlam as well as the last yellow and black NXT event, Takeover 36. Welcome back, #dearlisteners, and in this Khan eat Khan world, never forget to ask yourself, “have you moved the needle today?”--

Release the hounds! That must be what it sounds like backstage in the WWE right now as President Nick Khan continues his hatchet job on the WWE roster! This week our heroes Daryn and Perry (and not a lick of rust from “The Great Hiatus”) discuss the plethora of WWE releases as the E heads into SummerSlam weekend. The boys, in the interest of fairness, recuse themselves from a head-to-head rendition of picking PPV winners and instead enlist the aid of AJ Styles!! Well… it’s an AJ Styles plushie doll… “he’s” making the picks on this very special episode. The other Khan, wee Tony Khan, and his ‘Fed of Dreams’ AEW gets a lot of attention this week too, as Daryn and Perry break down the first ever episode of Rampage (and revisit the “3rd Labour of Jericho” from the last podcast… don’t retire before you get a load of this). And there’s so much more, #dearlisteners! Ric Flair appears at TripleMania XXIX! David Arquette, Dalton Castle, Jungle Boy, Pee Wee Herman AND a WWE Hall of Famer all appear on Family Feud (and they’re all littler than Steve Harvey)! And you know what else? Yellowstone. That’s what else!

It's WAR!! It's war on Wednesdays, #dearlisteners! And we don't mean your morning commutes... NXT and AEW are going head-to-head (HEAD-TO-HEAD) on hump day nowadays, and it's a real deal ratings war in the making. There will be casualties, winners and losers. But us? We are all winners. Our heroes Daryn and Perry, winners both, are here to discuss this new rivalry as well as SmackdownLive on FOX, Hell in a Cell 2019 and the upcoming "Crown Jewel" special on the WWE Network on Halloween! Trick or treat gets an all new flavor in the deserts of Saudi Arabia. What do our heroes think about Lio Rush getting paid in purple gold? Jericho's aged presence on the "hot" "new" product? Cain Velazquez's "dad bod?" Who is DOA (not the Disciples of Apocalypse)? Who doesn't channel enough magic & demons? And who drops in at the Accountability Crib? You may be surprised at how NOT outraged the boys are about the end of the Rollins/Fiend Hell in a Cell match... only one way to find out! Listen to the latest, greatest episode of the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle, The Whole Ref'n Show! Peace in the Middle East!

It's a special episode of The Whole Ref'n Show this week, as our FEST Wrestling: XMas in July 3 REVIEW features a very special guest, FEST Wrestling ring announcer, Charles Volkert! Yes, sweet, sweet Charles lends his silky-smooth vocals and plugged-in wrestlethoughts to Daryn and Perry's breakdown of the latest, greatest independent wrestling show around! We have wanted Charles on the show for a long time, so it was great to have him aboard to lend his insider thoughts from INSIDE the ring at FEST; from Jason Cade's outrageous action, to NOT seeing the FEST Tag Team Championships get ganked, to creating his own FEST-related formal attire, Charles brings some fun, cool, different stories to TWRS in addition to his contributions to the coverage of XMas in July 3 (and also there's the Mojo Rawley story, so you know Daryn's into it). Yes, our heroes Daryn and Perry take you down to Hogtown for every bit of the happenings in the wild world of FEST Wrestling. It may be the most in-depth review of a FEST show to-date! You DO NOT want to miss it. Every blue sky must have some gray clouds, however, and we are sad to have to cover the passing of wrestling legend among legends, Harley Race. But fear not, our mourning is a celebration, so listen in to all the career achievements of one of the most influential professional wrestlers to ever live! Of course there's the news ticker and SO MUCH MORE on this (and every) episode of the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle, The Whole Ref'n Show!!!

So many wrestles, so little time! It is the wrestling card packed-ed-est episode of The Whole Ref'n Show yet, #dearlisteners! Our heroes Daryn and Perry review AEW Fight for the Fallen, Evolve 131 and WWE Extreme Rules. The boys also PREview FEST Wrestling: XMas in July 3! So, from the home of AEW, Jacksonville, Florida, to the ECW Arena, and a lot of points in between, it's a tour de Atlantic Coast in the wrestling world this week. How did the apparently entirely "elite" roster perform in that city on the river? Is Kenny Omega transitioning into an American performer well? What is the deal with The Dark Order? And why are there two "Librarians?" At the crossroads of Swanson and Ritner, how did wrestling evolve in a den of innovation? What did our boys think of the likes of Josh Briggs, AR Fox, Austin Theory and JD Drake? Listen here! There's also news this week: our heroes discuss the ups and downs of the RAW Reunion from Tampa, Florida. It was a weird show, right? And as for FEST!? Daryn and Perry bring the tea on the boys and girls of FEST Wrestling, prognosticating on EFFY vs. Jordynn Grace, Saieve al Sabah vs. Simon Grimm (for the FEST Wrestling World Championship), and SO much more! It's a TIGHT, THICK episode, all ooey-gooey with #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews, so DO NOT MISS!! It's your only shot. It's your best shot. It's the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle!

What a wrestleweek it is! AEW is filling up the Wi-Fi, running Fyter Fest and Fight For the Fallen just two weeks apart. Our heroes Daryn and Perry are going to look back at one and forward to the other. WWE has a busy week in the city of brotherly love, with the WWE Network airing Evolve Wrestling's 10th anniversary show live from the ECW Arena on Saturday night, and the Extreme Rules PPV, also in Philly, on Sunday evening! This means that WWE is pitting the (WWE-backed) Evolve show against All Elite Wrestling's third PPV outing... and people are pissed. Daryn and Perry discuss all this ballyhoo and brouhaha, along with discussing WWE's debut at the ESPY awards and the status of Heyman and Bischoff's impending ascensions. It's a week heavy on in-ring competition, and most of it is absolutely free (if you have the WWE Network, which, yes, technically is not free). So, download and hear the boys discuss the virtues of all this weekend's performers, the ins and outs of these companies' booking, lots of pop tunes from the last 70 years and so much, much more! You wanted the best, you got the best (but not the "Beth")... it's the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle!

With enemies like these, who needs friends!? Vince McMahon looks to two erstwhile enemies to turn his company around. It was announced this week that WWE had named Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff the respective Executive Directors of RAW and Smackdown, shoot creative positions designed to turn around a flagging product! You KNOW our heroes Daryn Beasley and Perry Smith have beaucoups to say about this matter! I mean, the boys are back in town! If AEW wanted a war, and Vince decides to unleash the lieutenants, then this could get real good real quickly! In other news, Paul Heyman comes up again as Tommy Dreamer tells an extremely disturbing story about his plans for Paul Heyman once upon a time. You DO NOT want to miss that discussion. The boys also discuss this weekend's AEW Fyter Fest and its co-creator, Kenny Omega's recent mean-tweets to WWE. It's the postmodern dilemma of all postmodern dilemmas... do we care about who is wrestling on the AEW card Saturday in Daytona or do we care about what Kenny Omega, the Executive Vice President of AEW, thinks about his corporate competition's shady international political and economic dealings? Why do we follow wrestling so closely as adults? One good reason we do relates to the old adage of "that's why they play the game." In this instance, it means that even though WWE Stomping Grounds had no chance to be a great wrestling card, it kind of was! Daryn and Perry went head-to-head last week making their picks for this card from Tacoma, Washington. Tune in to find out how they did! As ever, these #wrestleboys know their stuff and they are the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle! So, #dearlisteners, go nowhere else for your #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews. Look no further than The Whole Ref'n Show!

News, news, everywhere news this week on the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle, The Whole Ref'n Show! Scarlett Bordeaux double-dips in the headlines, looking for a new wrestling home (and it probably won't be AAA). AEW tightens the reigns on the bucking bronco Jon Moxley, and Sami Callihan takes a step closer to combining global calamity with MOX. Shane McMahon (and only he) wants the WWE Championship for himself. Bret Hart and Corey Feldman are making a movie together (about 25 years too late). And there is truly A LOT more headlines this week. And you know that means our heroes Daryn and Perry are going to deliver the #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews. The boys also take the time to go head-to-head, making picks for WWE Stomping Grounds. As you know, #dearlisteners, the fun and laughter never stops on TWRS, and neither does the infotainment! So, wherever you're absorbing this week's episode, be one with the heroes. Be one with the headlines. Be one with the Schweppes...

There is a distinct international flair to this episode of the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle, as our heroes Daryn and Perry discuss the mega wrestling events that took place in Saudi Arabia and Osaka, Japan! Of course we are talking about WWE Super Showdown and NJPW Dominion. The boys tackle these two super-shows, discussing the controversial Saudi visit for Vince and friends... and it doesn't end with the political decision-making. No, you will hear our take on Goldberg vs. The Undertaker and the underwhelming 50-man Battle Royal. But over in Osaka, with the likes of gaijin Jon Moxley, Will Ospreay and Chris Jericho and Japanese superstars like Kazuchika Okada, Jushin Thunder Liger, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Tetsuya Naito & the rest of Los Ingobernables, there was a spectacular wrestling show! Also in the news, "Swerve" Shane Strickland is given a new name down in NXT, TMZ jumps to a conclusion (gasp!) about the wrestling future of John Cena, and oh yeah, speaking of NXT & NJPW, Kenta sheds his Hideo Itami persona and returns to Japan at Dominion. Also, in honor of Pride month, father's day AND his birthday, "The Feminist Icon" Effy is spotlighted by Daryn and Perry on this episode. The boys take the opportunity to revisit their relationship with "The Golden Boy of Grabass," exploring the growth of his career before our very eyes and the major impact he has made on the independent wrestling scene, nationwide, and how it is growing every day. Listen in as the boys reminisce about the first time Effy was ever on The Whole Ref'n Show, and how even then there were signs of what was to come. Happy days to you, Effy! And to our #dearlisteners, this is another DO NOT MISS episode for the straight tea in #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews (also, it's the anniversary of the whole Lazenby thing... hahaha). Listen this!

Choosey wrestling fans choose The Whole Ref'n Show for their #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews! And why? Because our heroes Daryn and Perry got moxie like Jon Moxley, who has been letting it all hang out since appearing in AEW. And he does NOT have the nicest things to say about WWE! Our heroes tackle that subject in the news, as well as yet another controversial WWE trek to the deserts of the Middle East for this week's SuperShowdown! Also in the news, TAFKA Marlena takes a gun to the Tampa airport like a dum-dum, and WWE takes its first step at another type of showdown, this one going head-to-head with AEW in August. Tune in to hear all about it. But that is far from all, #dearlisteners! The boys discuss both AEW Double or Nothing and NXT Takeover XXV, breaking down every match on both cards, in terms of wrestling, personnel, relevance and prestige; because that is where we are now. In the new wrestling war, every match matters. And you may be surprised which way the pendulum swings this time around. Turn on, tune in and drop out, kiddos, it's the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle!

It's a look forward to Double or Nothing and a look back at Money in the Bank! Either way, the wrestling world is telling us that money is the root of all good! So give us some of your money, because we know you love your heroes, Daryn and Perry and the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle! So how about how awful the boys did on their head-to-head!? Yikes! Sad but true. It just goes to show you that even a knowledgeable podcast like TWRS can be confounded by the backward-ass booking of the WWE. Brock Lesnar wins a MITB match he's not in!? Sheesh. Well, in other news, we find out WHY Ruby Riott has not been in the rightful spot of contender on WWE television! We get some more unfortunate details surrounding the death of Ashley Massaro. And WWE news is rampant (even in a week where AEW is the squeakiest wheel), with their new atrocious looking 24-7 Belt, their mysterious new "3rd Hour of Doom" and plenty of scuttlebutt about Saudi Arabia! As always, the very best and most fair #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews emanate from THIS very podcast, #dearlisteners, so turn nowhere else except The Whole Ref'n Show!

Blessed be the hashtag, as it makes even non-word acronyms into words, just like this week's WWE Network Special, #MITB. Go ahead, say it: "hashtag mittuhba." Thanks, Twitter. Our heroes Daryn and Perry struggle this week with the hashtag, well, certain aspects of it. Because, as you know, #dearlisteners, sometimes they absolutely adore it. But has it completely replaced "pound" yet? Listen and find out! Also this week, the boys discuss multiple untimely deaths in the world of wrestling. As always that is a taxing and unfortunate chore of wrestling journalism, and it makes for sad hearts and minds all around. But we would be remiss if we did not report on the passings of Silver King and Ashley Massaro. In other news, Ric Flair seemingly has his own brush with death, but the reports of that have been greatly exaggerated. And we finally confirm our long-rumored and much-discussed AEW to TNT television deal! Monday Night Wars Part 2, here we come??? I guess we will have to wait and see. But we don't have to wait long for Money in the Bank 2019 as it is THIS Sunday! And Daryn and Perry are set to go Head-to-Head making picks for the match winners. It's a big, long, meandering, arduous card that was hard to pick, but as always, we do our very best and are most earnest as this is the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle!

Hear ye, hear ye, #dearlisteners! Gather 'round and learn of what happened in Hogtown when the Easter Bunny dropped in with a very special batch of eggs! Listen to a tale as old as time: a tale of professional wrestlers beating one another senseless with implements of destruction! Staple guns, textbooks, bottlecaps and all sorts of mean, nasty things! That's right folks, it's the always-beloved, must-hear follow-up to FEST episode of the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle! Our hero Daryn tells our hero Perry about every match from FEST Wrestling's Hardcore Hunt 2! The title matches, the tag bouts, and of course the deadliest, most FESTive scramble match in the land! But that's not all... in addition to a blow-by-blow re-telling of the Hardcore Hunt 2, our heroes have a slate of news ready to blow your socks off. So, better equip the garters, because it's sock-blowing time! The boys discuss LARGE (Lars) Sullivan and his LARGE past with making a rather LARGE list of inappropriate statements covering a LARGE amount of the population. Well, what is the twitteraction? What will the WWE do? It's uncertain, but come on, Lars. We had hoped you were better than that. And the WWE Wild Card? Well, we knew Vince and friends were NOT better than that... but we still don't like it. Don't know what it is? Tune in. And, do you remember 6:05 on the Superstation? Do you have a certain tingly feeling when you think of Nitro on TNT? In your mind, does wrestling somehow perfectly fit into an equation with Andy Griffith and Atlanta Braves baseball? If you said yes, well, you may be on the verge of some real wish fulfillment! Apparently the television deal with All Elite Wrestling and Turner Broadcasting is all but done! Listen to our boys' take on that HUGE pending announcement. And last, but certainly not LEAST, there's the matter of Daryn Beasley's off-TWRS venture. Starting this upcoming Monday, Daryn can ALSO be heard on The Raven Effect podcast alongside Rich Bocchini and former ECW World Heavyweight Champion (and multi-time champion in many other respects) Raven! We talk about Daryn's first episode as part of the team over at the ONLY wrestling podcast more slapdash than this one! So, please go support The Raven Effect as well, and tell them how much you love Daryn! And if you're joining us here from The Raven Effect listenership, welcome! We are happy to have you! Settle in. It's a great show on this side of the wrestleworld as well. Let's cross-pollinate, #dearlisteners! We love you all.

It's a FEST-tastic week here on The Whole Ref'n Show! After what seems like an excruciating hiatus, FEST Wrestling presents the Hardcore Hunt 2, and our heroes Daryn and Perry are joined by Rich Bocchini to break down the card. As usual, this trio is Hogtown-bound for hijinks, and there's as much hilarity as there is analysis. The "straight-man" Rich Bocchini is, however, as capable as ever before dealing with the hosts with the mosts. But that's not all! Before the FESTivities can end, no less than Teddy Stigma ring-a-dings on the Bat-phone to crash the show and steal the show and put on a show! The World's Worst Role Model gives Daryn and Perry his take on all the opponents he is going to have to face in the world's most dangerous Easter Egg Hunt this weekend at FEST, from Super Beetle and Leva Bates, to C.J. O'Doyle and more! And don't you fret, #dearlisteners, the boys also discuss all this week's news! How about Dustin vs Cody in the desert, All-Elite style!? And are we about to see the return of Jon Moxley? The news ticker waits for no man! Hear ALL the #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews in the weird, wide, wild, wonderful world of wrestling on the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle, The Whole Ref'n Show!!!

The boys are back this week with a second helping of WrestleMania #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews! Daryn and Perry talk about every WWE Hall of Fame induction for the class of 2019, and yep, they talk ALL about the dumbass that bum-rushed Bret Hart on the stage... oh, and how somehow Brother Bruti was more in character than the damn Honky Tonk Man! The boys also discuss the biggest interloper of the week, and that was the G1 Supercard show co-produced by New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor, that occupied Madison Square Garden the night before WrestleMania 35. Hear the highlights and surprises from that extravaganza! And you know that when WrestleMania comes and goes, so does the talent. So, The Whole Ref'n Show begins this year's run-down of arrivals & departures AS WELL as a complete discussion of the Superstar Shake-Up, WWE's own internal kayfabed company-jumping. Did you ever stop and think about the word WrestleMania? It's ridiculous. So is what it is. So is wrestling. So is a wrestling podcast. Hey, we here at The Whole Ref'n Show simply call it right down the middle. AND WE WOULDN'T HAVE IT ANY OTHER WAY!!! The WWE brought the wrestling WORLD into New York City and New Jersey last week for WrestleMania 35 an NXT Takeover, and the city that never sleeps was the city that never DIDN'T wrestle for about 10 days!! And while ROH and New Japan sold out the Garden and indy wrestling put on blockbuster and doorbuster after facebuster after broncobuster, it was THE granddaddy of 'em all that made it all possible. And on this week's TWRS, our heroes Daryn and Perry discuss the two big cards, NXT Takeover: New York and "The Showcase of the Immortals" WrestleMania 35, from bell to bell! The boys tackle all the big hits, the big misses, the big surprises, the big letdowns, the big pops and the big flops! Was it Kofimania? How did THE MAN fare in the biggest spotlight of her life? What did Shane McMahon fall off of? What time does "Ricky and Ally" air on CBS? Daryn and Perry are THE experts you have always been looking for. This podcast is brought to you by wrestling fans with brains and balls who take care of the business and have compassion and nothing but love for the sport of kings! But for the VERY BEST and most thorough, most thoughtful, most exciting, exuberant and lively #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews in all of the podcastsphere, you MUST turn ONLY to The Whole Ref'n Show. Our heroes Daryn and Perry are especially excited this week to talk to all of YOU about WrestleMania week, including the granddaddy of 'em all, Takeover, the WWE Hall of Fame and so much more! And then there is the matter of John Oliver's gauntlet-throwing! Oliver, from HBO's "Last Week Tonight" broke the internet by being the latest in a long-line of whistle-blowers who pointed out the shady business dealings of one Vincent Kennedy McMahon. Daryn and Perry are going to discuss everything right and everything wrong about Oliver's tirade against the industry and his plea to the wrestling fans. Nevertheless, the boys are focused on the action-packed cards for the weekend, with about 15 titles being defended just between WWE's 2 shows!! A women's winner-take-all bout is set to headline WrestleMania. The Universal Championship is rumored to "move on," as it were, and what about Kofi Kingston? We know Aleister Black and Ricochet are doing double-duty. We know there is a slew of wrestlers going into the Hall of Fame for the 2nd time. And we DON'T know what's going on with NO matches scheduled for John Cena, The Undertaker, Kevin Owens or Dolph Ziggler. With all the spotlights and microscopes of an entire industry converged on the capital of Planet Earth, it is a damn exciting week to be a fan of professional wrestling. So you, wrestling fan, plug this podcast in your ears and LISTEN THIS!! You'll be glad you did.

The boys took the "Fastlane" last week, and they are here to tell you all about it. Out of the chutes and headlong for WrestleMania "Statue of Liberty Head," the boys go back to the drawing board on what to call their lead-up segment to the "Grandaddy of them All." Perry is raising and roping broncos, trying to call the thing the "WrestleMania Round-Up," while Daryn is whitening his knuckles and tightening his buckles for a high-speed "WrestleMania Drive-By!" It's the disagreement that will seemingly never have an end... nevertheless the boys DO talk about all the brouhaha and ballyhoo leading up to the "Showcase of the Immortals." There's talk of Harlem Heat's induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, and maybe, just maybe, Booker T will drop by to give his 2 cents on this prestigious distinction! In addition, our heroes start to discuss the card, match by match, as the smoke is beginning to clear and the match-ups are starting to coalesce before our very eyes. Who will be Kurt Angle's last opponent ever!? Where will John Cena factor in? Has anyone seen or heard from The Undertaker!? It's WrestleMania season, #dearlisteners, and we thank you for tuning in every week to the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle. Then, now, forever, it's The Whole Ref'n Show!

Our heroes Daryn and Perry pull into the Fastlane on this week's episode as WWE dictates the new year's wrestling in all automobile-metaphors! The boys go head-to-head, picking winners for the WWE Network special (and boy! it's tag-team heavy). The discussions are broad and deep, as it's not just Fastlane that we are all looking at, but WrestleMania 35 on the near horizon. But it's not just this weekend's wrestling that is being chatted about either! The boys bid a farewell to the late King Kong Bundy, the giant embodiment of pro-wrestling that passed away just this week. And what news of Jim Ross? It turns out he will be leaving WWE and heading to AEW. A multi-year contract? Daryn and Perry have a lot to say about "multi-year guarantees" from brand new companies. And the boys drop the knowledge of Tomasso Ciampa's neck-fusion surgery. How long will he be out? How do you deal with a heel who is injured without turning them into a babyface? And what of his NXT Championship!? We are on the Fastlane to New York City (New Jersey?) and need healthy champions for that weekend of weekends! Oh! Did you hear? That weekend of weekends has been set for 2020, too! Tampa Bay is the destination for WrestleMania 36! And as always, The Whole Ref'n Show is your destination for the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle!

It's going to take Mass Transit to get all these people in and out of the WWE! (and I don't mean that poor kid that New Jack busted open... and I don't mean Vicious Vic Grimes) We are close to WrestleMania and there are an inordinate number of people on their way out of the "E." Our heroes Daryn and Perry discuss who has been fired, release, etc. They will also discuss a recent hiring, some shifting around of talent and more! And what about The Honky Tonk Man!? Well, who better than the hip-swiveling "greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time" to take us to the HOF!? The boys discuss the recent announcement of Honky's induction into the WWE Hall of Fame coming up the weekend of Wrestlemania XXXV! But that's not all either! The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic brackets have been announced, and there is a lot of talent in this tournament! There is so much indy/international and homegrown talent in this field of teams, and some of the combinations will make wrestling fans very happy! #dearlisteners, you are in the right place as always. This is the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle. We are getting ever closer to hopping on that "FastLane" to Wrestlemania, so hold on to your butts, it's The Whole Ref'n Show!

Hulk Hogan killed his career in the FESTibule, and it was a total DIY job, even though he never jobs, brother! But will Chris Hemsworth be a Perfect 10 playing the part of the Hulkster for Netflix? And #dearlisteners, did you Elimination Chamber and chill? Effy love Beastly or does Effy love Daryn Beasley? Tye Dillinger abandons the quest for the brass ring, and you didn't come to hear Perry Como sing, but Perry Smith and Daryn sling the best #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews around! Yes, it's that kind of a mixed-up, mashed-up overcrowded week, but this is and will always be the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle. So, let's get this straight: Thor is playing Hulk, Tye says goodbye, DX says, "let's go to the HOF," NXT invades RAW and Smackdown, FEST Wrestling throws a love-in down in Hogtown and the WWE puts all their stars into giant cages. There, that sounds about right! Oh, and Daryn and Perry? They're just fine. They are here to be your guides through the week that was, replete with FESTivities, as indy wrestling's greatest organization held a tag-team tournament and the Stamford boys and girls did it up inside cages! What a week to settle in with your #wrestlefriends and here some #wrestletalk!!

BUT ALSO, one half of the greatest announce team in independent wrestling, FEST wrestling's own Maxx Gregg, sits down with our heroes to discuss FEST Wrestling's "Love Is A Battlefield 3," which is coming LIVE this weekend to Gainesville, Florida! The three-o talk about all the first round match-ups in the Battle for the Love Cup 3, and this whos-who of indy wrestling is simultaneously FEST Family heavy AND full of newcomers. All we can say is that the talent in this tag team tournament is off the charts! You don't want to miss this conversation emanating from Los Angeles, California, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Valdosta, Georgia. #dearlisteners, this is another brilliant and fun, informative and entertaining episode of the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle!

Hear the results of the boys' head-to-head predictions, as well as all 30 of the women's contestants and all 30 of the men's contestants in their respective Royal Rumble matches! What about that hemp belt? What about that Fruit Roll-Up belt? You can only find out here! There are no Charles Manson shirts to be found, but there is plenty of #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews, #dearlisteners! Despite all their rumblin' this week, there are tales of Dean Ambrose leaving WWE, and tales of Hideo Itami leaving WWE. Are they both/either/neither headed to AEW? And we would be remiss if we did not remind you that it is THIS episode that features the [drum roll, please]... Third Annual The Whole Ref'n Show Royal Rumble Contest RESULTS!!! That's right! On this episode you will find out the two lucky winners of spectacular prizes and what those prizes are!

There's Rumble and Mayhem on The Whole Ref'n Show this week as Daryn and Perry discuss the beloved battle royale pay-per-view and and indy wrestling extravaganza too! Our heroes return to the tried and true head-to-head format, making picks for this weekend's NXT Takeover: Phoenix and the Royal Rumble! What will happen with the nasty remnants of #DIY? Will Aleister Black reclaim his NXT Championship? Who will be sitting ringside this time at Takeover? Who will win the TWO Royal Rumbles? And, ANd, AND, who will win The Whole Ref'n Show 3rd Annual Royal Rumble contest!? We will not know the answer to that until after the PPV, BUT you #dearlisteners can find out on THIS episode exactly what your magic number is for the Rumble contest! You have TWO chances to win this year, the men's Rumble match and the women's Rumble match. Listen closely to hear if you made the cut for the contest AND which number you're going to clutch to your breast on Sunday night! In addition to all this Royal Rumble brouhaha, the boys also have a special guest for this episode, and it is NO LESS THAN Teddy Stigma! Very close friend of the show, "The World's Worst Role Model" joins The Whole Ref'n Show to give us all the very latest on his recovery from the knee injury that has had him sidelined for a very long time. Spoiler alert: Teddy Stigma WILL be wrestling at Mayhem on Mills III on the same day as the Royal Rumble, so listen in to hear all the gory details of Teddy's comeback! This is an excellent, packed episode that we know you will all enjoy immensely. Please give us a quick 5-stars and a brief review on iTunes. It helps us A LOT!! And best of luck to our Royal Rumble Contest participants!

Hope you packed your swimtrunks, #dearlisteners, because we are headed across the pond to the land of fish n' chips, double-decker buses, unnecessary "o's" like in "favourite" and "colour," and gardens, lorries and damn fine pro-wrestling! The main focus of this week's episode is the NXT UK brand's first PPV (or Network Special, if you will), Takeover: Blackpool, and our heroes Daryn and Perry break it down match by match, blow by blow! It was a great show with the debut of NXT UK Tag Team Championships, and two other major UK titles being decided; not to mention, a rather spectacular debut! This is the ONLY place to hear a fair crack at all your most favorite and least favorite WWE Brits. The boys call it right down the middle as always, and the result is a fantastic look at WWE's version of English wrestling, what these athletes are like individually and collectively and what kind of show they put on when the spotlight comes a-calling! But also this week on The Whole Ref'n Show, the boys field rumors of WWE departures amid AEW's potential/immediate spending spree; and is AEW looking more like WCW each and every day? And DO NOT MISS the final advertisement and rules recap for The Whole Ref'n Show 3rd Annual Royal Rumble Contest!!

Well let me tell you something, #dearlisteners! Our heroes Daryn and Perry hate to say farewell, but it's that time to say goodbye to Mean Gene Okerlund... the boys bid adieu to the greatest voice in the history of pro-wrestling. But it's not all a bummer. This was quite a week! The NWA blew it open in Tennessee with a "Pop-Up Event" featuring a Hair vs Hair match between David Arquette and Jocephus Brody! Tommy Dreamer brings Raven to Impact! Wrestling. And in Jacksonville, Florida, "The Elite" announced the latest players in the biggest wrestling game of all, the "Let's Take Down Vinnie Mac" game, in the form of All Elite Wrestling (AEW)!!! Hear all about the announcements, the rumors, the speculation, the gesticulation and maybe some pre-emptive lamentation! And you, hey YOU! Yeah, YOU! Listen up to the repeat of all the details of The Whole Ref'n Show 3rd Annual Royal Rumble Contest! Don't you want to win!? But that's not all either! Daryn and Perry break down New Japan Pro Wrestling's WrestleKingdom 13 PPV from Tokyo Dome, match by match. All NJPW's titles were on the line! The Elite looked to be sneaking out the back door. Gaijin's ruled 2018... so what about 2019? Rule or rue? Our boys know all the answers, so listen in to the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle, The Whole Ref'n Show!

It's 2019, a new year, a new calendar, a new set of opportunities for all us insects called the human race... and there promises to be all sorts of new to The Whole Ref'n Show this year as well! But one thing that is not new and not going anywhere either is that this is the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle! Ringing in the new year, our heroes Daryn and Perry discuss Mauro Ranallo's Christmas Eve car crash, the announcement of WWE Women's Tag Team Championships, and they take a peek at New Japan Pro Wrestling's Wrestle Kingdom 13 lineup (review to follow next week!). But the big to-do of this week's episode is actually not looking forward at 2019, but looking BACK at 2018, as Daryn and Perry introduce to you AND each other their picks for their Top 10 Favorite Wrestlers of the year 2018! This is an annual tradition, the 3rd annual to be exact; it's a fun time to listen to the boys discuss who they felt really made a difference in wrestling and in their little spheres of excitement over the past 365 days. It is a great conversation about wrestling, about what wrestling means to two grown men, about athleticism, excitement, storytelling, money, contracts, livelihoods, legacies and much more minutiae found only in the connective tissue of the wild world of wrestling! And speaking of annual traditions. Listen closely, #dearlisteners, for the announcement of The Whole Ref'n Show 3rd Annual Royal Rumble Contest!!! It's the announcement of the year, and THIS year, you have a better chance of winning than ever! How is that, you might ask? Listen and find out! Happy New Year!

The Whole Ref’n Show time is here! Lots of #dearlisteners and cheer! On this XMas time episode, our heroes Daryn and Perry talk about the McMahon family’s “new direction,” and what that means (and if it means anything!). The boys spend the majority of the episode recounting the WWE TLC PPV (that’s right, Pay Per View... uh oh?) with the benefit of knowing what went down on the ensuing RAW & Smackdown as well! Hear about the “New” Daniel Bryan, a really great triple threat TLC main event between Becky Lynch, Asuka & Charlotte Flair, and a monkey fucking a football (I mean, Braun Strowman versus Baron Corbin!!!). Even with all the generosity of the giving season, the boys can only be so kind to WWE, and this slapdash wrestling show.  BUT, our heroes call it right down the middle, so fair is fair, and this is the show to get ALL the #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews you need! What does 2019 hold for WWE & their new direction!? We can only guess based on this week’s programming, but the boys give it their all! Merry Christmas to all of you, #dearlisteners!

It's less than 2 weeks until Christmas, #dearlisteners, but you can always count on The Whole Ref'n Show to give you presents early and year-round! This is the 110th present our heroes have brought to your anxiously awaiting ears! And what a show it is! The bulk of this week's episode is blow-by-blow coverage of FEST Wrestling's Christmas present to us all, Pickle in the Tree 3! It's a show that featured a blistering grudge match between Wolfe Taylor and Vandal Ortagun, a mind-boggling multi-person ladder match (for the prized "pickle"), a TITLE CHANGE, some surprise guests, brutal and beautiful in-ring action, devastating out-of-ring action and more smashed doors than you can count! It was a bombastic affair in Gainesville, Florida last week, and Daryn and Perry were there! You have to hear about the most amazing independent wrestling in the wide world, and where else would you listen besides the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle!? You wouldn't. You couldn't. You shouldn't. Happy Pickle, everyone!

Get your pickles ready, #dearlisteners. We gots trees to stick 'em in! The Whole Ref'n Show is dreaming of a GREEN christmas! One full of pickles and trees, just like FEST Wrestling likes it. Our heroes Daryn and Perry bring on their pal Rich Bocchini, voice of the indies and one-half of the JJ Dillon Show, to break down the announced match-ups for FEST Wrestling's Pickle in the Tree 3! It's one of those DO NOT MISS shows where the boys and Rich deconstruct the card, the wrestlers, the wrestling, the ideas behind wrestling, art theory, pop culture and they definitely stretch the boundaries of humor and decency! Come have fun as they discuss FEST newcomers, oldcomers, allcomers... it's the most wonderful time of the year, and you KNOW you want to hear about the early FESTivities of the holiday season! What about Effy and Jason Cade!? You didn't forget, did you? It's nigh upon us! In addition to all the pickle-talk, the boys tackled this week's headlines, from the passing of the Dynamite Kid to the retirement of Rhino. Furthermore, there's news about the XFL! Find out if they're making a home in YOUR hometown! Where will we see this renegade outfit in the spring of 2020!? Find out here on the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle!

everythingisdemonshit on this week's The Whole Ref'n Show. Our heroes Daryn and Perry are joined by Ronnie Rios and Kayden Greene of The Coda. It's a regular tag-team tango as these two titans of tussle take on our titular tyrants! That's right. It's a big 4-way conversation all about pro-wrestling, black rats, ring rats, ring gear, building rings, gimmicks, Randy Orton haircuts... and Stu Bennett. So, I'm afraid I've got some bad news! This is a great opportunity to learn all about the already long and meandering wrestling life and career of "The Music City Messiah" Kayden Greene, from watching Dusty Rhodes in Championship Wrestling from Florida to wrestling for Florida Championship Wrestling! And also find out when Ronnie Rios's entire life of wrestling turned "lethal" for him! These Demon Daddies were such excellent guests to have on the show. They talk shop, they talk shit, they weave some fabulous tales of the wild west of indy wrestling, and they make you happy with their own happy! For a couple of sex-cult maniacs, these two dudes are rather open and friendly. It's a great conversation about the business and about these tag team wrestlers' lives. Do not miss, #dearlisteners. You're in the right place after all... you're listening to the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle!

Gorge your ears, #dearlisteners, on the only wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle! Our heroes Daryn and Perry are serving up a veritable smorgasbord of #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews! The boys are so thankful that you are here listening. The boys are thankful for the weird, wild world of wrestling, and on this Thanksgiving episode, the boys are tackling a lot of wrestling!! Following a very brief hiatus, Daryn and Perry discuss the “state of WWE,” by discussing the last 4 network specials, including “Evolution,” “Crown Jewel,” “War Games,” and “Survivor Series.” There’s TONS of stuffing in these 4 big wrestling cards, from celebrating women to the controversies of Saudi “blood money,” from double-cage matches to a bloody Ronda Rousey. This was the last month of the biggest wrestling promotion in the world as told by the raddest, truest and best podcast in the wrestling world, The Whole Ref’n Show!

FEST! FEST! FEST! FEST! It's that time of year, the time when all the punk rockers (and the moon stompers?) and all the wrestlefans hit Hogtown for the biggest, baddest, raddest wrestling show in the world! Right on the tail of Episode 105, featuring a LIVE rendition of The Whole Ref'n Show from FEST17, our heroes Daryn and Perry bring you Episode 106 which features a blow-by-blow account of FEST Wrestling We Are Family 2! This episode takes a look at the many faces and names from the We Are Family 2 supershow. All 8 hours of that killer indy-wrestling event are discussed by the boys that call it right down the middle! What a show, featuring Effy, Jason Cade, Saieve al Sabah, Serpentico, Awaken, The Ugly Ducklings, Shotzi Blackheart, Leva Bates, Veda Scott, The Gymnasty Boys, the Monster Squad, B.R.U.H., the Metro Bros., Matt Cross, Simon Grimm, Arik Cannon, The Coda, the Clover Clan, Desmond Xavier, Darius Lockhart, The Carnies, Space Monkey, Beastly, Milo Beasley, Man-Scout Jake Manning and many, Many, MANY more!!! And the boys DO talk to Effy, as was the plan from the beginning... BUT, much to our surprise, NEW FEST Wrestling World Champion Jason Cade calls into The Whole Ref'n Show! Jason Cade does not take kindly to more than a year of Daryn calling him "whipping boy." He does not take kindly to Perry's "boos." And he does not take kindly to the FEST Family or Tony Weinbender's handling of his career in FEST Wrestling. And he lets us all have it. Jason Cade is very candid, very heated and very specific in his hatred and disdain for all those that have "kept him down." For a guy who told us that he did not have much to say, this is quite a lengthy conversation as Cade goes back to the well over and over to repeat how he has been treated so unfairly everywhere he goes in wrestling, but particularly at FEST. When Daryn and Perry get Cade off the phone, they can finally take Effy off of hold and talk to the rightful FEST Champion! Effy sounds down and out, but defiant as always. The Feminist Icon's fire grows over the course of the conversation until he finishes with some real vitriol from the thief, Jason Cade. #dearlisteners, it has always been the complete and total pleasure of The Whole Ref'n Show to be so intimately and definitively linked to FEST Wrestling, but this episode really stands out as the former Champion and the current Champion both take to this very forum to have their voices heard! Jason's braggadocio and Effy's despondency, Jason's poor-mouthing and Effy's inner furnace, it is ALL here on display for your ears. This is an incredible piece of pro-wrestling audio legacy, of history in the making. And you can always rely on finding that sort of thing HERE, on the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle, The Whole Ref'n Show!!

It's FEST-ja vu all over again! It's that new hotness, it's Episode 105 Live! This is a very special episode (the rare occasion when you get more than one episode of The Whole Ref'n Show in one week). It's The Whole Ref'n Show LIVE from FEST 17! LIVE, on-stage at the magnificent and stoic Hippodrome Theatre in beautiful downtown Gainesville, Florida on Saturday, 28 October 2018 in the middle of the wild and crazy FEST, the world's biggest punk rock music festival! Our heroes Daryn and Perry brought together an amazing, esteemed, celebrated, enthusiastic, talented, beautiful and bad-ass panel to talk independent pro-wrestling, FEST Wrestling, the lives and times of indy wrestlers, the business of professional wrestling, and the FEST atmosphere that surrounded us! On the panel were the voices of FEST Wrestling, Rich Bocchini and Maxx Gregg, the (don't call him) manager of the Ugly Ducklings, Coach Mikey, the Child of the 8th Day Saieve al Sabah, Ronnie Rios and Kayden Greene of The Coda, F1rst Wrestling's Arik Cannon and the burgermeister himself, King FEST, Tony Weinbender! It's a great conversation between 10 passionate wrestling-minded individuals, with myriad perspectives on the business we all know and love. This is an intimate portrait of a lot of wrestling diehards, #dearlisteners. Get to know the minds of these individuals who wear other hats in their shoot lives, who wear promoter's hats, manager's hats and others. Listen to the tales of the relatively green and new to the savvy veterans, from indy darlings to those who have graced WWE's PPVs. This is an informative, very funny, extremely candid and totally warm look inside the business of pro-wrestling, behind the curtain of indy-wrestling and deep inside the minds of a lot of folks that take this business very seriously, take the camaraderie to heart, and take the experiences along with them all the days of their lives. If you couldn't be there in Hogtown (and you should have been!) you can hear it here now! It's the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle, it was LIVE, it was full of a bunch of your favorite folks, and it was the wrestling panel that was... it was The Whole Ref'n Show LIVE from FEST 17!!

Jethro Tull said, "Life's a Long Song," and so is The Whole Ref'n Show, especially when played on your smart phone, streamed between your other favorite podcasts and whatever Spotify playlist you've thrown together to celebrate a budding relationship or grieve over an evaporating one. But this is episode is not a "Long and Winding Road," as The Beatles once talked about. But hey, #dearlisteners, Frankie Say Relax... we've also been told what Rod Stewart once said, "You Wear It Well." And why not? We ARE, in fact, the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle! But any episode that touts itself as the top of the pops in #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews had better deliver, and of course, our heroes Daryn and Perry do just that! After all, if David Bowie taught us anything, it's that "we can be heroes... if just for one day." Wrestling is very much a "Wild World" like Cat Stevens sang about, and small victories (signings), setbacks (long-term injuries) and finish lines (RIP) are all apart of that weird and wacky world. This week we cover news about the Mae Young Classic 2018, Impact's 'Bound for Glory' show, the passing of "Dirty" Dick Slater, Smackdown 1000 (sort of), and we take a look forward to next week's FEST 17 in Gainesville, Florida where on Saturday night, 27 October, The Whole Ref'n Show will be performing LIVE at The Hippodrome in downtown Gainesville with a panel (to be announced) that will rock your socks off! AND THEN there's Sunday, 28 October when FEST Wrestling brings you an ALL-DAY affair with dozens and dozens of the top talent in #indywrestling tearing up Gainesville for 'We Are Family 2.' This episode of The Whole Ref'n Show rocks just like any other, and we thank you, the faithful, the #dearlisteners, the #friendsoftheshow, for making it all possible!

In addition to that, the boys talk Kevin Owens's injury, Chelsea Green's signing, NXT UK's debut and Don Callis possibly being out in New Japan Pro Wrestling? This is a #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews heavy episode this week, friends. The boys have a lot to say about these stories, and they have a lot of tangential stories to boot (if you can believe that!). From the silliest to the most downright serious news, you can always count on The Whole Ref'n Show to be the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle. But wait, there's more! Let's call this episode "Two Men and No Baby (Or Little Ladies or Boys)" shall we? Our heroes, our men if you will, Daryn and Perry are riding the crest of the wave that was Episode 100, and all the good will they garnered with that momentous and memorable episode seems to have emboldened them to go as outside the box as ever before. Remember Baby Jessica? Daryn and Perry do. What that has to do with Brie Bella giving Liv Morgan a concussion, we'll never know. But please come along on this fantastic voyage. As always, you will learn about wrestling, pop culture, film, music and the inner-workings of the minds of the last vestiges of Generation X. This show is conducted by kids that love Super Mario as much as Superstar Billy Graham, that love Steve Guttenberg as much as Steve Austin and remember the technicolor fabrics of their lives in excruciating detail. Oh yeah, and there's actual wrestling coverage. Listen here to hear all the breakdown of the first round of the Mae Young Classic 2018! It's a celebration, #dearlisteners! It's the 100th episode of the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle! It is a time to party, a time to reflect, a time to chat with those that joined us along the way, and a time to look just as much forward as we do back! Our heroes, Daryn and Perry, kick off the episode remembering all the things that have come and gone and all the things that have come and stayed! From "We Were There" NXT house-show chats to themed segments featuring Arliss; from discovering FEST Wrestling to forcing themselves to watch TNA; the boys take a look at the natural evolution of the show as well as the times they felt it was time to shift gears. And the boys trek down that tract of memory lane known as the ghosts of interviews past! Remember James Ellsworth on the show? SoCal Val? How about Blue Pants herself, Leva Bates? And don't forget when John Bring kicked the hornet's nest known as the "Killing the Town" podcast. But wouldn't you know it? Some of those familiar faces give the boys a call to celebrate 100 episodes alongside them. ALL on this show are happy birthday chats with "The Weapon of Sass Destruction" Effy, "The World's Worst Role Model" Teddy Stigma and THE voice of Indy-Wrestling, Rich Bocchini! These lads were kind enough to join us and talk 100 episodes, talk podcasting, wrestling, life, controversy, rehab and all sorts of other tomfoolery. But that's not all on the guest frontier, all ye faithful, NO! Daryn was able to pre-record a little message from The Ugly Ducklings and Coach Mikey to help celebrate this huge milestone. And in addition to that, John Bring and Leon Scott dropped off their own messages, and those last two fellows weren't exactly in the best of moods. Those congratulations were laced with some strong opinions... And in the fashion of the previous 99 episodes, our heroes still manage to bring you the best in #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews as they discuss the results from WWE's Hell In A Cell 2018 network special! True to form, the boys tally up their head-to-head picks and talk blow-for-blow reactions to WWE's latest super-show. But THAT is not all, either, folks! As promised, it is Episode 100, and we finally bring you "The Glacier Story." It's a tale as old as time. It's a tale of hubris. It's an inside look at wrestling-done-wrong. We hope that if it's your first listen to The Whole Ref'n Show or your one-hundredth listen to The Whole Ref'n Show, that you enjoy every second of each portion of this bloody-rare labor of love. It's the home of every type of wrestling you ever gave a damn about! The boys catch you up on the news ticker and then go head-to-head making picks for WWE's Hell In A Cell 2018 network special. Roman and Strowman in the devil's structure with Strowman's MITB on the line!? AND Mick Foley!? Ronda Rousey looking like a regular regular! This is a pretty stacked card. Can Vince and friends deliver? We know Tony Weinbender and friends can deliver, and that's exactly what happened last week at FEST Wrestling's 2nd Anniversary Bash! Daryn was in attendance, front row and hellbent on absorbing the blood, sweat and tears from the hottest independent wrestling promotion in the whole wide world, FEST! This was a barnburner of a show, and listen to Daryn's account of the show as he shares it with Perry. Talking Shotzi Blackheart's debut, Jamie Senegal's return, the dastardly antics of villains like CJ O'Doyle, Drennen, the Awaken crew and the match where FEST Wrestling World Champion Effy finally got his hands on the crook Jason Cade. What did the "Golden Boy of Grabass" do to the "Whipping Boy?" Listen and find out! Jason Cade can call us biased, but we will give the devil his due, because this is the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle!

ALL UP INS is what you could call this episode of The Whole Ref'n Show, because our heroes Daryn and Perry are going DEEP into the "ALL IN" pay-per-view spectacular held in Chicago. We are ALL IN, #dearlisteners!? We are all in The Whole Ref'n Show gastro-lounge, mic'd up and ready to call EVERYTHING right down the middle! After Daryn spends the weekend in the hospital, Perry joins him back in the familiar realm of the podcast and out of the realm of intravenous nourishment and magnetospheres! Our heroes are alive and well here on Episode 97 and are talking about ALL the results of NXT: Takeover Brooklyn 4 and SummerSlam 2018, as well as some of the rumblings over the past 10 days since those shows. But the boys also discuss Hulk Hogan's cryptic nWo teases and what that means when VKM gets wind. And the boys also discuss what is coming down the tubes in the very near future which includes "The Biggest Independent Wrestling Show Ever" AKA "ALL IN," which is this weekend as well as FEST Wrestling's "2nd Anniversary Bash" coming on Saturday, 8 September 2018 from Gainesville, Florida! With those two shows on the horizon, Daryn and Perry are getting piqued, primed, and a little hot and bothered... but that might just be the meds talking! Regardless, all of us here at The Whole Ref'n Show wish all of you #dearlisteners a g'day and g'morrow, and thanks as always for listening to the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle (and notably absent from Starrcast - see you next time?), The Whole Ref'n Show!

We're serving up some Dave Meltzer soup on this episode of The Whole Ref'n Show... turns out the old wrestling journalist extraordinaire has gotten himself in a cauldron of hot water by talking about a certain someone's figure. Our heroes Daryn and Perry weigh in on the (non?) issue of Meltzer's comments about Peyton Royce's appearance. The boys also drop in on the goings-on of New Japan Pro Wrestling's G1 Climax, so tune in and find out who came out on top! We are also here to tell you that it's "The Big Red Monster" Kane that came out on top of Knox County, Tennessee's Mayoral race! The boys are not short of opinions on that topic either. But in sad news, the life and career of Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart is remembered on this week's episode as he passed just a few days prior to broadcast. One half of the mighty 80s WWF tag-team, The Hart Foundation, Anvil was everything a pro-wrestler should be: colorful, powerful, boisterous and proud. Jim Neidhart was larger than life in pink and black, a human steamroller that paraded around the superhero-era of pro-wrestling in a Sgt. Pepper's jacket and a pink leather skullcap. The boys remark on Anvil's uniquely funny and brutish persona and wish his family all the best in coping with his untimely death. #RIPAnvil. Our heroes must lift the veil and soldier on, though, as there is a weekend FULL of WWE's finest emanating from Brooklyn with NXT Takeover and SummerSlam 2018 coming LIVE on the WWE Network in just a matter of hours, #dearlisteners! Daryn and Perry go head-to-head breaking down 2 nights and 18 big-time bouts from the wrestling industry's biggest promotion! Who will leave NYC with gold? You will hear it here with all the other #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews, unbiased, unadulterated, unimpeded, unprecedented and unrivaled, because this is the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle... The Whole Ref'n Show!

Enter the Newsroom... not as sexy a title as Enter the Dragon. Nevertheless, we haven't a dragon on this week's episode of the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle. But what we do have are a couple of heroes that go by the names Daryn and Perry! And we have loads of #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews. The boys discuss the unfortunate news of the passings of Nikolai Volkoff and Brian Christopher, and an injury to NXT superstar Aleister Black. In lighter news, the contracts and careers of some major players are hot topics at this time, like UFC-bound Brock Lesnar, recently-returned Daniel Bryan and WWE-bound (but All-In) Rey Mysterio! But that is not all, #dearlisteners! Daryn and Perry reveal all of the currently confirmed participants in the 2nd Annual Mae Young Classic; WWE's women's wrestling tournament. Learn about the international and indy flavors filling up this bracket! The boys play this news-ticker fast and loose, but as always, they call it right down the middle as only they can!

Matt Riddle me this, #dearlisteners: who is headed NXT way!? Looks like the Altered Bro himself is on a collision course for Takeover Brooklyn 4 next month, and that is a cause for celebration. But in all reality, it's uproar what comes WWE way the night after at SummerSlam! It seems Vince and friends just can't get enough of Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, and our heroes Daryn and Perry have more than a couple of thoughts on the matter. Not only that, but WWE announces "Evolution," and all-women's PPV/Network Special for October 2018. And that would be great. Except that they're already patting themselves on the back for it. The boys tackle that sticky situation as well. So, you came for the headlines, but we're betting you stick around for the FEST Wrestling: XMas in July 2 review! That's right, folks, Daryn was LIVE, in-person at FEST, and on this week's episode he sits down with Perry to talk about every headlock and wristlock, every high spot, and maybe even your dog, Spot. Our heroes discuss the FEST debuts of Tripp Cassidy, Kevin Ku and Allie Kat, the nastiness of that snake Serpentico, the fight for championship gold as well as respect between Effy and Saieve Al Sabah, and two other surprises... find out FINALLY "what's in the box!?" AND who came back!? You thought he was a goner, but [radio edit] came back, he just wouldn't stay away! For all the delights of punk party equality wrestling from a country & western saloon in a swamp in Florida, you have come to the right place. You have come to hear the tales of FESTivities on the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle, The Whole Ref'n Show!

It's a FESTastic episode this week of the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle, #dearlisteners! Our heroes Daryn and Perry have a couple of special guests this week. One half of the commentary team for FEST Wrestling, former WWE commentator and Tony Schiavone's MLW Fusion broadcast partner, Rich Bocchini returns to talk about this weekend's FEST Wrestling: XMas in July 2 with the boys! It's always fun when Rich joins Daryn and Perry to discuss the hottest and wildest, most groundbreaking independent wrestling organization in the world. It's usually pretty funny too. The three break down the card as it stands, heading into the show emanating from Gainesville, Florida this weekend! Hear all about the wrestlers, their statuses, the matchups, the speculation, the analysis, and even some dad-jokes! Once Rich hangs up the phone, the boys take Fest Wrestling World Champion Effy off of hold and have one hell of a conversation. The "Golden Boy of Grab-Ass" himself drops some knowledge and throws some shade at his XMas in July 2 opponent, Saieve Al Sabah. You DO NOT want to miss this, as Effy makes his real feelings known about Saieve inside the ring and out. And it doesn't stop there, #dearlisteners! Effy takes his time while breaking down the "behind the times" independent wrestling mainstays (organizations and performers!). Effy continues the tirade, turning his vitriol to WWE superfan (and Effy's upcoming Punk Pro Wrestling opponent) Izzy, and the "journeyman" himself, Francisco Ciatso! You have not heard shit talked like this, maybe ever! "The Feminist Icon" puts children and vets, promoters and layabouts all on blast, and ONLY HERE, folks! Also on this episode, Daryn and Perry discuss Hulk Hogan's reinstatement to the WWE Hall of Fame, shocking (spoiling!) headlines from NXT and the complete results and breakdown of the WWE Extreme Rules network special! It's a busy and packed episode, folks, and we demand that you not miss a second!

Is it "ultimate" (UFC?). Is it "rock n roll" (Bi-Polar Rock n Roller?). Is it "auto-racing" (G1 Special?). Or is it "extreme" (...Extreme Rules?). It's all of the above, #dearlisteners, and it's all a part of the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle. Our heroes Daryn and Perry take you to UFC 226 where WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar entered the octagon to challenge the new UFC Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Cormier. Then we take you on Mauro Ranallo's mental health journey through life as the boys discuss Showtime's documentary "Bi-Polar Rock n Roller." And then to the wrestling action that was this week, emanating from the legendary Cow Palace outside of San Francisco, California. New Japan Pro Wrestling continues its outreach to North America with a tremendous show on AXS TV & the NJPW World streaming service. Hear the boys talk Kenny VS Cody 2, the fate of the Bullet Club, what it's like seeing "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada without a belt, and the latest on the condition of the injured IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion, Hiromu Takahashi! And then Daryn and Perry go head-to-head, making predictions for WWE Extreme Rules 2018! Who will win? WIll anything actually be extreme? Tune in and find out what the boys think before you sit down and watch the show! You'll be glad to have the scoop, the inside news, the hunches, and bunches of laughs on the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle, The Whole Ref'n Show!

Doldrums? No doldrums here, #dearlisteners! Though it's an explosive weekend in pro-wrestling, the week leading up to this episode was about as slim as it gets. Nevertheless, our heroes Daryn and Perry bring you a jam-packed episode as always. When we say "must listen" or "DO NOT MISS," we mean it. Our heroes are genius machines that bring you the ultimate in #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews each and every week! This slow week is no exception! The boys drop the knowledge on Ruby Riott's injury, Brat Wyatt's car crash (of horrors?) and a look at the ins and outs of Ronda Rousey's UFC Hall of Fame induction. But then, Daryn and Perry (who's Adam?) look back 20 years at the WCW World Title match between Hollywood Hogan and Bill Goldberg, aka the Jackhammer heard 'round the world! Not only is it astonishing that those events happened then and there, but it's astonishing to our heroes that two decades have passed since then was there! And before we let you go this week, we get our first mention of FEST Wrestling: XMas in July 2! What do our heroes have in store for FEST family and all lovers of independent wrestling!? DO NOT MISS it! It's the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle!

Twenty years of hell, #dearlisteners! It's been twenty years of hell since Mankind went flying off the top of a gigantic cage, changing pro-wrestling forever. To open things up this week, our heroes Daryn and Perry look back at WWE's (then WWF) King of the Ring 1998 pay-per-view spectacular to commemorate Mick Foley's near-death experience at the hands of the Undertaker (or his own poor decision-making). The boys also mention some of the other matches and performers from that night oft-overlooked in this one-trick pony of a PPV. They say fortune favors the bold, but sometimes history remembers the stupid! The boys also mourn the death of Matt Cappotelli, of WWE/MTV Tough Enough fame, following his long fight with cancer. Also on the news-ticker is Shinsuke Nakamura's attack by a Police K-9 unit, Real 1 (FKA Enzo Amore) dropping some knowledge on his WWExit, some injury news on Lars Sullivan and the possible future FOX home of NXT! And then the boys cross the pond for two nights of WWE/NXT UK Championship Tournament action. Daryn and Perry discuss every bout of the tournament and all the other thrilling surprises and title matches that filled up two evenings of world-class wrestling in the Royal Albert Hall in London, England! From "The Modfather" to "Liverpool's No.1," Moustache Mountain to the Scottish Supernova, our heroes tackle the talent of the British Isles and beyond from this epic 2-night tournament. DO NOT MISS! This is the ultimate in #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews, because it is the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle!

Also, this week the boys discuss the results of their head-to-head picks for NXT Takeover: Chicago II and WWE Money in the Bank 2018!! Listen to the blow by blow accounting of these two Network-special! If you start to take Vienna, take Vienna. On a very special episode of The Whole Ref'n Show, our heroes Daryn and Perry tackle a sensitive subject in the world of wrestling. How do fans love a form of entertainment that sometimes doesn't love them back? Why would fans continue to be demeaned, bemoaned and on occasion outrightly lambasted by the very figures whom they admire and on whom they expend time, energy and hard-earned cash? And what exists in the mind of any professional, in any business, to look down on the most ardent of supporters and the most fervent of fans? In professional wrestling, there sometimes exists a rather deep and treacherous valley between the fans and the performers. Let there be no doubt that every Hall of Fame speech will thank the fans incessantly for giving the hallowed recipient that extra oomph that propelled them through all the highs and lows of their careers. But this is too often the amorphous "fan," the faceless mob of cheering "marks" (another term fans hate as much as wrestlers hate the word "jobber"). Too often the actual fan, the individual, the admirer, the idolizer is marginalized by the industry and its performers as being nothing more than "marks." These superfans are relegated to the pity pile of botherers, sycophants and even detractors by the very athletes and entertainers they love. And it seems the more devoted the fan, the more involved and engaged the fan, the stronger the effort to close them out becomes. On this episode, Daryn and Perry take the opportunity to shift gears with this program; instead of the usual #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews always received with gleefully open arms by our dear listeners; instead of the boys boosting and boasting all the praise and applause on the performers of the wrestling industry as they typically do, this time our heroes are sticking up for the wrestling fan. In response to a rather condescending address by Paul Lazenby and Don Callis of the "Killing the Town" podcast, directed at The Whole Ref'n Show and our guest last week, John Bring, Daryn and Perry defend this very podcast and the nature of the fan in relationship to the business of professional wrestling. This is a much more focused and refined version of the conversation about wrestling fandom and what is meant by the word "mark" that our heroes have been having throughout the life of this podcast. But having been assailed by Lazenby and Callis for being mere "marks" in a sea of unloved fans of pro-wrestling, The Whole Ref'n Show has decided to hereby draft the declaration of the rights of the wrestling fan! Liberte! Egalite! Fraternite! This is the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle.

It's a "family affair" this week on The Whole Ref'n Show, but only insomuch as it's not "The Courtship of Eddie's Father," nor is it "Gomer Pyle USMC" (but it'd probably be pretty funny if it were). But no! #dearlistener from the beginning, first cousin of Perry's and best friend of Daryn's, John Bring sits down with the boys to discuss his life as a wrestling fan. And that's not all. John Bring, former screenwriter from the CW's hit-show "Supernatural" and co-creator of underground comic book series "Penguins VS Possums," talks growing up with our heroes of the podcast and what led him to a career in Hollywood. Furthermore, hear tales of John's working with The Miz on set, his "beef" with Paul Lazenby of the "Killing the Town" podcast with Lance Storm and Don "Cyrus" Callis, and much, much, much, much more! This is a great conversation between lifelong friends, lifelong collaborators, lifelong wrestling fans and lifelong gigglers! John Bring needed to be on this podcast long before this episode, and we hope he will join us again very soon (certainly before another 86 episodes pass). In addition to the wonderful chat with John Bring, the boys also discuss Real 1 Enzo Amore's latest efforts (in the rap game), CM Punk and Colt Cabana's day in court being upon us, and the great success of Su Yung in capturing Impact Wrestling's Knockouts Championship! Daryn and Perry extend many congratulations to the Undead Bride and #friendoftheshow, Su Yung, on her high-profile victory. It's another DO NOT MISS episode of the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle, The Whole Ref'n Show!

Find out if that was allowed... and find out what went down in Gainesville at the home of indy-wrestling's wildest punk-rock party, FEST! Our heroes Daryn and Perry discuss the entire event in great detail, discussing the stellar card, from 6-person tags to championship matches, from Effy and Joey Ryan to Serpentico and Saieve al Sabah. FEST Wrestling is just the right home for our boys at The Whole Ref'n Show, and we are all proud to be FEST Family. Listen closely to hear every bit of this scrap on Mother's Day Eve. But don't forget, our boys are also investigative journalists, and the newsticker keeps on ticking at The Whole Ref'n Show. It's time... It's time... It's Ralph Nader time!! This week's topsy-turvy episode is a result of Backlash backlash, FEST anticipation and something about "Nighttime" Buddy Day. It's a fun week on the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle as our heroes Daryn and Perry are joined by very special guest, Maxx Gregg, the yin to Rich Bocchini's yang in the FEST Wrestling commentary booth. Maxx sits down with the boys to talk about this weekend's "Bring Your Mom Too" spectacular in Gainesville, Florida. Loads of great matchups are discussed, including the main event where FEST World Champion Effy takes on Joey Ryan! ...and then there's the results of the WWE Backlash head-to-head. Perry's going to tell you all about the worst birthday party WWE ever threw him (hint: it was this past Sunday). And in the news, the boys say godspeed to the late Big Bully Busick; there's double trouble injury talk on the women's roster of WWE, and Jericho makes his return to New Japan!! How "tranquilo" can Tetsuya Naito remain when he's left lying in a pool of his own blood by Y2J!? Find out all this AND MORE on this week's journey into mystery with The Whole Ref'n Show!

cough cough We spoke too soon, #dearlisteners! Forgive the fib; we were late once again, but we swear to make it up to you with this week's incredible installment of the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle. Perhaps in our absence you found yourselves listening to wrestling podcasts that skewed to the left or the right or completely off the charts! But NOW, our heroes are BACK! Daryn and Perry bring you the most legit, most reliable, most intoxicating #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews in the podsphere! On this week's episode, the boys talk the possibility of Mayor Kane, the libertarian devil from the Smokey Mountains! And then we all board trans-continental flights to take a look at Saudi Arabia's backyard wrestling show, Greatest Royal Rumble. The WWE packed up the boys (but not the girls) and went to King Abdullah Sports City to show off all the gold and all the roster (but not the girls) with a 50-man (not girl) Royal Rumble. Daryn and Perry discuss all the title defenses and the biggest Royal Rumble match in history. You don't want to miss this dissection, folks. And then, the boys make their head-to-head picks for Sunday's co-branded WWE Network Special: Backlash. It's an 8 match card (and the girls are invited this time; it's only Newark!), and there's a lot of brand-hopping gold on the line... but not the fruit roll-up title. Mr. Lesnar brought that back from the middle-east and parked it presumably in the Brock-tagon, well beyond the reach of Roman Reigns. Listen close to hear all the astute picks from the boys that call it right down the middle. DO NOT MISS this episode of The Whole Ref'n Show!

Happy WrestleMania everyone! Have fun if you're in NOLA this weekend and be on the lookout for Daryn at WrestleCon and WrestleMania! If you see someone, say something!

Watch out for this episode, it's a doozy! The only wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle is bursting at the seams this week with the wild and crazy! Leva Bates joins our heroes Daryn and Perry for a look back at her career as well as up to the second preparation for her battle with Effy this weekend at FEST Wrestling's Hardcore Hunt! The artist formerly known as Blue Pants, Leva Bates talks about her earliest memories of pro-wrestling, setting her eyes on Rey Mysterio and La Parka, training with the Dudley Boys, tagging with Delilah Doom, doing her best Eddie Brock, Indiana Jones and The Sandman, and more! Leva talks nicey-nice about her impending clash with FEST Wrestling World Champion, Effy, but this might be where the nice stops, #dearlisteners. And after the lovely sit-down conversation with the effervescent Leva Bates, our heroes sit down with the voice of independent wrestling, Rich Bocchini, to break down the whole line-up for FEST Wrestling's Hardcore Hunt (this Saturday, 31 March 2018). Is it insanity? Is it inanity? Is it brilliance? The boys and Rich tamper with decency as they barrel through this discussion in a most peculiar fashion, full of laughter and fun. You do not want to miss this. And that's not all! We actually begin this week's episode with headlines about the WWE Hall of Fame, a brief discussion of New Japan Pro Wrestling's "Strong Style Evolved" show as well as the announcement of MLW's television deal (which involves guest and good #friendoftheshow, Rich Bocchini! And don't forget the WrestleMania Drive-By (Round-Up)... we are only ONE WEEK away from WrestleMania, so find out here all the latest alterations to the card of the "granddaddy of them all!" This is a DO NOT MISS week (just like every week) on the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle, The Whole Ref'n Show!

We're your vehicle, #dearlisteners, we'll take you anywhere you wanna go... as long as it is New Orleans, Louisiana, because we are on the road to WrestleMania!! This episode is very Mania-centric, with talk about the WWE Hall of Fame surrounding Mark Henry, the Dudley Boyz and Edge and Christian. Then our heroes take us all the way to Saudi Arabia with scuttlebutt regarding the so-called "greatest" Royal Rumble that is now fast-approaching AND likely to feature 50 WWE superstars. But will it air on the WWE Network? Something the WWE did air, on the USA Network, was the Ultimate Deletion, the first WWE-sponsored jaunt to the "Hardy compound." And it was every bit as delightful as one could have hoped! Our heroes Daryn and Perry also discuss the majorly buzz-worthy medical-clearance of Daniel Bryan. What will this mean? When and where will Daniel Bryan return to the squared circle? And for that matter, when and where will we see the also-cleared Big Cass return to action!? And as long as we are on the road to WrestleMania, the boys decide to discuss the 3 new confirmed matches for the "granddaddy of them all" in the WrestleMania Round-Up! ...or is it Drive-By?

This episode, this episode is your episode, bro! It's everyone's episode, #dearlisteners, it's Episode 78 of the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle! And we start off with a news-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tick-tock! The news-ticker is going bananas and bonanza with goodstuffs and badstuffs this week. Our heroes Daryn and Perry shoot straight as always with the wrestlenews and wrestleviews, and they deliver the skinny on the latest inductee into the WWE Hall of Fame; this time we're talking celebrity wing (uh oh!). The boys are talking WWE releases, WWE talent recent run-ins with the law and major announcements surrounding a new NXT Championship Title and possible future WrestleMania locations! After that, we find ourselves on the Road to WrestleMania (THIS WrestleMania, call it 34, call it New Orleans, New Orleans 2 or Fleur de Lis), and that can only mean that there is so much wrestlerumor that it gets its own segment: the WrestleMania Round-Up! Or is it the WrestleMania Drive-By? Who's to say!? Daryn and Perry let us know about all the ballyhoo and brouhaha surrounding the announced and rumored matches for this year's "Grandaddy of Them All" from the Bayou! And last, but certainly not least, how can we know the way to NOLA unless we're driving on the Road to WrestleMania in the Fastlane! The boys compare their head-to-head picks, checking for accuracy and breaking down the SmackdownLive Network Special that represented the last pit-stop on the Road to WrestleMania! It's the 77th rendition of the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it RIGHT down the middle, and it's switching lanes this week, switching right into the Fastlane! Our heroes Daryn and Perry discuss the Smackdown Live network special in their trademark Head-to-Head style, and make bold(ish) predictions for the last pit-stop on the road to WrestleMania!! The boys handle Usos/New Day, Charlotte Flair/Ruby Riott, Shinsuke/Rusev, the 6-Pack Challenge with AJ Styles's WWE Championship on the line, and MORE! And that's not to mention the busy ticker as the guys discuss the latest inductee to the WWE Hall of Fame, Hillbilly Jim! Also in the headlines is some not so great news for Jonathan Coachman, who recently returned to WWE, and Sami Callihan too, who has brought a lot of nasty hear on himself this week! Wow! It's ever closer to Mania in the French Quarter (Part 2, the Sequel), and you can almost taste the beignets and etouffe, #dearlisteners! Don't miss this or any episode of The Whole Ref'n Show!!!

Isn't it ironic? Don't you think? #dearlisteners, you will have the opportunity this week to hear all about that tricky thing known as irony, as it is a big part of the conversation that our heroes Daryn and Perry have with independent wrestling star and friend of the show, Teddy Stigma! You heard right, the World's Worst Role Model sits down with the boys once again! And this time, Teddy is giving us all the 411 on his knee surgery. This ACL tear is not a rift in the American Civil Liberties Union, no! It is a serious, career-threatening, career-postponing ligament injury that our friend Teddy suffered, and hear all about the surgery exclusively on the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle! Teddy talks Nurse Mom, Nurse Not-Dan, warm ice packs, bridge-building, and... what's a house-truther? In addition to the boys' chat with Teddy Stigma, they also bring you WWE headlines, discussing the problem of the advertised WrestleMania main event! What if Brock goes to UFC? What if Roman's steroid accuser gains access to enough ears? There's a lot of losers in those scenarios, but who would win? Who benefits? Daryn and Perry also bring you the results of their head-to-head picks for WWE Elimination Chamber from this past Sunday. The first ever Women's Elimination Chamber match, the first ever 7-participant men's Elimination Chamber match, Nia Jax's attempt to ruin Asuka's reign, and more! As always, this is a must-hear episode of The Whole Ref'n Show! But more than that, you will simply fall in love all over again with Teddy Stigma, the man who "eats steaks, lifts weights and drinks whisky!" That's our kind of guy too!

It's another milestone for the touchstone of pro-wrestling podcasts! And for this septuagenarian, it's still spry! As spring is nigh, we like to think of ourselves as a spring chicken, even. Youth, vitality, fashion. What is it to be hip in pro-wrestling? Chic, even? Why, it's a couple of wrestletalk heroes like Daryn Beasley and Perry Smith. It's #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews from a couple of real mensches! It's hot headlines, it's wrestlescoops, it's pillar-to-post coverage! It's amazing guests! And that's what Episode 75 is; what every episode is on the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle. Head-to-head picks for the WWE RAW Elimination Chamber network special! A blow-by-blow account of Night 2 of FEST Wrestling's "Love is a Battlefield 2!" And talk about special guests!!! EFFY, the #feministicon and NEW FEST Wrestling World Champion returns to the podcast he considers a second home, and he has A LOT to say, dear listeners! Effy sits down with Daryn and Perry to talk about the match where he won the title, the year that was in FEST, the immediate future (and immediate past), and the entire Effy-lution! Front-row seats are yours for the having just by joining us on this one-of-a-kind wrestling podcast. And that's not all! The newsticker takes us to Music City, USA, to Tenochtitlan, to the year 2000, to the Asylum to everywhere on the globe where there is a force with which to be reckoned, and THAT is just to talk about one man: Jeff Jarrett! He is going into the WWE Hall of Fame, so get to know ol' SlapNutz himself, but don't piss him off! Ain't he great!? Our heroes discuss the announcement of Double J's induction and the ins and outs of the whole situation. And then the news turns to the operating room where there is news from the "Land of the Rising Sun" about The Great Muta! What's in store for Mutoh and his knees!? The Whole Ref'n show is jam-packed this week! From WWE to the Far East, from the past to the present, from WrestleMania to the indies, from humble beginnings to the hottest guests in sports entertainment who take us to infinity and beyond, it's we, it's we, it's the T-W-R-S, and it's 75 episodes young. It's love, it's hate, it's HOF, it's Ivory! It's a newsweek all over the place, #dearlisteners! Where has Emma landed? Is Ms. Dashwood a woman of honor? Jason Jordan's immediate future AND WrestleMania dance card get a big shake-up thanks to his neck injury. And who wants in on the RAW pay-per-views? Why, SmackdownLive, of course! And vice versa! It's a nice way to hasten the end of the brand split altogether if you're asking the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle, The Whole Ref'n Show!! So, those headlines set the table... but what's for dinner!? Our heroes Daryn and Perry are going to have a nice pow-wow, talking about Night 1 of FEST Wrestling's "Love Is A Battlefield 2: Electric Boogaloo." Daryn made the trip to St. Augustine, Florida without Perry, as Perry is in the midst of his most recent stint as an Angelino. But Daryn has the blow-by-blow account of the raddest punk wrestling party in the whole of the Earth, and he is ready to tell Perry and ALL OF YOU ALL about it!! Listen and learn what went down in the first round of the "Battle For the Love Cup" Tag Team Tournament! Hear about MJF, Matt Cross and a most amazing gang warfare main event featuring the team of Effy, Beastly and Aerial Monroe taking on the team of Su Yung, Darby Allin and Priscilla Kelly! Buckle up, lovers! It's time to go to war!

We are young. Heartache to heartache, we stand. No promises, no demands... Love Is A Battlefield... 2... Electric Boogaloo. Yes, #dearlisteners, it is time to go back to Florida! FEST Wrestling weekend, the future is NOW! The two-day "Battle for the Love Cup" Tag Team Tournament is Friday and Saturday, February 9th & 10th 2018, LIVE from St. Augustine and Gainesville, Florida, and the stakes are high! Our heroes Daryn and Perry, as always, are going to turn this mother out. And, like the Beatles, they get by with a little help from their friends. In this case, friend of the show Rich Bocchini drops by to talk about Love Is A Battlefield 2. Yes, the voice of FEST Wrestling (also the voice of MLW, Wrestlecircus and Defy Wrestling), you can bet your sweet bippy this young, fresh fellow knows his shit. Rich joins the boys to break down the bracket for the Love Cup as well as talk about the singles matches and special attractions over the FEST Wrestling weekend, from Matt Cross taking on MJF to the wild 6-person tag match to end Night 1, captained by the opponents for the FEST Championship on Night 2, defending champ Su Yung and challenger Effy! Also, as you might expect, there is more than anyone's fair share of nonsense when these three try to have a conversation. And you know what? We may have seen the elevation here of Rich Bocchini from "friend of the show" to "hero." Hmmmm. But it's not only FEST Wrestling on this episode. The boys also talk about the Corey Graves and Booker T kerfuffle. And there MIGHT be some repercussions for that one. Alicia Fox's injury is updated, and where is Lars Sullivan!? Let's get to the bottom of his disappearance! But most of all, this weekend, be excellent to each other. Because we are strong, no one can tell us we're wrong. Searching our hearts for so long, both of us knowing... Love Is A Battlefield... 2... Electric Boogaloo.

LET'S GET READY TO RUMBBBLLLE!!! It's a crazy Rumble-rific week emanating from The Whole Ref'n Show, echoing the roar of the City of Brotherly Love from a crazy weekend of Philly wrestling courtesy of WWE. NXT Takeover: Philadelphia and the Royal Rumble itself get dissected this week by our heroes Daryn and Perry. The boys break down all the matches from both nights, talking Almas and Cole and Black and Dream; Asuka and Rousey and Shinsuke and Cena. What a world, what a world! The show this week opens with some headlines about the new 205Live manager (he's no couch potato, though he is a spud), the return of Coach (not Mr. Perfect's manager, and not Glacier's latter days WCW gimmick; but Johnathan Coachman!), the Jeremy Borash contract inking heard 'round the world AND the latest confirmed inductees into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2018, the Dudley Boyz! But after that news ticker is dealt with, the cards from Barbed Wire City get picked clean like a buzzard on carrion, with our heroes treating your earholes to the very best in #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews, which this week amazingly includes the full-blown Asian Invasion of WWE! Could WWE be called NEW New Japan!? Find out on this week's rendition of the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle!

Sawdust and jet fuel are to blame for this slightly delayed, but nevertheless infotaining, episode of the only wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle! Our heroes Daryn and Perry are again bi-coastal, but now their recording studios are being refurbished and it can be slow going sometimes on the Oregon Trail... BUT, the boys are back! Only 3 days late this week, and with bells on! There is a lot to talk about, and the boys hit you hard and quick with a reminder of the deets on the 2nd annual The Whole Ref'n Show Royal Rumble Contest! ENTER NOW before it's too late, dear listeners! After the contest spiel, Daryn and Perry discuss the upcoming RAW 25th Anniversary show, and the injuries to Samoa Joe and Paige. While RAW25 promises to have some really fun surprises, the surprising re-injuries to Joe and Paige are unfortunate to say the very least, and Paige may be looking at a heartbreaking early retirement. In better news, Candice LeRae signs with NXT, and we are stoked to see Mrs. Wrestling emanate from Full Sail University on the regular! And in other news, The Bullet Club wants to know, are you 'all in?' Listen up for details regarding what may be the most revolutionary event in professional wrestling history! But wait, there's more! The most revolutionary event in professional wrestling this past week was New Japan Pro Wrestling's "WrestleKingdom 12," broadcast LIVE around the globe from the Tokyo Dome, and it was something special. Our heroes take you match for match, bout for bout and blow by blow, from pillar to post, from the show-opening elimination-style New Japan Rumble to the double main event that set the wrestling world on fire! Daryn and Perry cover every match from WrestleKingdom 12, so you can hear about all the many, many title bouts and hear the triumphs and travails of your favorite intrepid global superstars and loathed and wretched villains like Hiromu Takahashi, Marty Scurll, The Young Bucks, "The Ace" Hiroshi Tanahashi, Minoru Suzuki, Kota Ibushi, Cody Rhodes, Will Ospreay, and that barely scratches the surface of this star-studded affair! Because when we get to that double main-event, hold on to your butts, dear listeners! First, it's Alpha VS Omega, as Y2J Chris Jericho goes into full survival-mode in a fight to the finish against The Cleaner Kenny Omega of The Elite faction of The Bullet Club and current, reigning IWGP United States Champion. This is a battle that moved and shook the wrestling world and will be remembered for ages to come. What do Daryn and Perry think of it? And what are their thoughts on the following bout, the IWGP Heavyweight Championship match between the undisputed champion Kazuchika Okada and the challenger, the oddly mystifying talent that is Tetsuya Naito!? This week, our heroes Daryn and Perry discuss the possibility of a Daniel Brian in-ring return, the dream maybe come true of NWA wrestling again on Superstation TBS, the Jackal's rise in the Great White North, Ronda Rousey riding a horse into a WWE ring very soon... and who woke Matt Hardy!? What a week just in headlines, dear listeners!! And then! The man under the mask, Jonathan Cruz, highly decorated high-flyer from Puerto Rico and 16-year veteran of pro-wrestling, tells us all about his start in the bloody island days as a little kid, his two distinct periods of learning his trade and breaking into the business, adapting various schools of thought into one specific style of his own, and what it has been like "under the hood!" This is an excellent and honest, open and earnest look at the life and times of a top notch independent wrestling talent, and it is a DO NOT MISS listen for you all! Wow, what an episode!

The Starrs are out tonight! The Starr(cade)s! Our heroes Daryn and Perry are bringing you a bunch of out-of-time Starrcade discussion. We are talking about WWE's "Starrcade" house-show from last weekend in Greensboro, North Carolina AND a look back at Starrcade 1996 from the rich WCW/nWo vault! What did WWE do with Dusty Rhodes' and the NWA's baby? Did Dustin Rhodes do anything? Was Cody Rhodes there? We can promise you that the American Dream was at Starrcade 1996, and he was commentating up a storm on that night in Nashville, Tennessee. Did Starrcade 1996 deliver on the "Match of the Century" as it advertised? Were Hollywood Hogan and Roddy Piper icons at the top of their game or dinosaurs slopping around in a tar-pit? Our boys tell you what they think about that match, the many Japan vs the World matches, and lots more! As for the Greensboro mess, it's simply a matter of perspective... or is that respect? But it's not all Starrs and garters, there's talk of a Women's Royal Rumble match at that upcoming WWE Network special in January. The boys sink their teeth into that big hunk of sweetness. And then we all take a trip to the beach with FEST Wrestling, as Daryn and Perry run down the card for next weekend's "Brawl by the Beach" FEST show in St. Augustine, Florida! Find out what's going on in just a few days involving "The Golden Boy of Grab-Ass" Effy, The King of Dong Style Joey Ryan, Swerve Shane Strickland, Hell's Favorite Harlot Priscilla Kelly, those Ugly Ducklings and "The Blood Bride" Su Yung! A podcast unexamined is not worth hearing! Our heroes get pretty deep more than once on this sixty-second rendition of the only wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle. In an episode designed primarily to deliver the results of WWE's long weekend in Houston, Texas, Daryn and Perry get a tad philosophical, a touch political, with a tidbit of anger and a tinge of frustration at the average, let's say, "hater." In the news, Paige is back in WWE, and both main brands are awash with female NXT call-ups. Hide your women's divisions! The boys do give us the full, blow-by-blow accounts of NXT Takeover: War Games and WWE Survivor Series 2017. Find out who won our heroes' head-to-head, find out WWE's "supreme brand," and find out who reigns in "The Match Beyond!" This is a must-hear episode for the truly discerning wrestling fanatic, for the deep thinker, for the reasonable human being. Happy Thanksgiving, dear listeners. It's the beginning and the end of all things in New Japan Pro Wrestling! It was announced that "Alpha" Chris Jericho would be taking on Kenny Omega at WrestleKingdom 12 in January 2018!! Our heroes Daryn and Perry react as only they can. And then the boys have to drop the sad news concerning friend of the show, James Ellsworth! And in other news, Jack Swagger begins mixing martial arts, Neville isn't as gone as you think, and is Paige back on the scene, sans Papi!? Ay caramba! But that's not all for this week, dear listeners! Our heroes go head-to-head with predictions for NXT Takeover: War Games & WWE Survivor Series! The return of "The Match Beyond" War Games has the boys excited, and the traditional 5-on-5 Survivor Series matches are extraordinary in substance. Daryn and Perry also offer up some very strong opinions about the booking on this upcoming night in WWE, controversial opinions at best! Nevertheless, you can always count on THIS wrestling podcast to call it 'right down the middle!'

Bumps, not mumps; that's what all the WWE Superstars are saying,l! Nevertheless, mumps will be the winner of the day, as the two main matches from the RAW-brand TLC Network Special will both be subject to change! Kurt Angle will be part of the response, and not simply as a mouthpiece. WWE doubles down on the specialness of an Angle return match by using the Olympic gold medalist as the shocking make-up, twist ending in an already convoluted match. And AJ Styles is flown in overnight across hemispheres and across brand splits to save the day, too. But in other news, Jeff Jarrett is given a golden ticket to rehab, apparently from VKM? And in the process, Anthem hands Jarrett back Global Force for his troubles and severs ties. All this and more, dear listeners, on the ONLY wrestling podcast that calls it right down the middle!

And then our heroes Daryn and Perry go head-to-head on Smackdown Live's latest network special (TAFKAPPV), "Hell In A Cell," delivering expert analysis on the show coming up Sunday night. Hear educated commentary from a couple of wrestletalk gurus, and maybe get a couple of gutbusters for your troubles (and we mean laughs, not some devastating top-rope move from Dean Malenko!). NO SLEEP TILL! No sleep till the #biggestpartyofthesummer! WWE is throwing down in Brooklyn (big ups!) for the 3rd year in a row, and our heroes Daryn and Perry take a look at this weekend's wham-bam, thank-you-Vince tandem card! That's right, two shows this weekend for the WWE. Two shows for the price of two! NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III is Saturday night and the very next day is the 2017 rendition of SummerSlam. Sunday's mega-card looks like a WrestleMania line-up, and that's no accident. Lucky number "13" of matches on the SummerSlam card, just about every big belt in the company on the line, and the sheer amount of talent listed as participating is staggering. It's the ol' embarrassment of riches. But at the top of the episode, before NYC goes WWE, TWRS goes H-E-A-D-L-I-N-E-S, with stories about Adam Cole signing with WWE, Katsuyori Shibata returning to NJPW, and the emergency hospitalization of the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair. It's a regular cornucopia of #wrestlenewsandwrestleviews!

To quote the UFC: "I think I'm turning WWE, I think I'm turning WWE, I really think so!" This week, our heroes Daryn and Perry talk about how UFC standouts like Jon Jones, Conor McGregor and Cris Cyborg seem to desperately want to be professional wrestlers. What does that say about UFC? What does that mean for professional wrestling? And how will the ultimate opportunist, Vince McMahon, take this crossover to the bank? Also in the news this week is an unfortunate injury for Bayley; and this discussion between our guys turns into a full-blown inquiry into women's matches at SummerSlam, and the future of the WWE's 'Women's Evolution' in general. And what is going under the microscope this week? How about "The Wrestling Album!?" Yes, dear listeners, the boys examine 1985's WWF record featuring songs sung by (and "sung" by) WWF superstars in the era of the advent of WrestleMania and the "Rock & Wrestling Connection." Track by track, Daryn and Perry react to, deconstruct and speculate on all the many aspects of these songs. It's music, it's wrestling, it's cinéma vérité! It's a wild ride. Won't you join us?
