Sandy Schmied - I started working with babies as young as four weeks, helping them establish great sleep habits in gentle, baby-led ways without rigid sleep training. Seeing how well it worked—and how much relief it brought to exhausted families—I knew I wanted to take my passion further. That’s how Wildhood Sleep was born: to help parents get the rest they deserve while nurturing their connection with their little ones. In the early days, I started by sharing my knowledge within my community. I trained as a maternity nurse, and soon enough, word spread. People began reaching out, asking if I could bring my sleep "magic" to their homes! But I didn’t want to rely on intuition alone; I wanted to deeply understand the science of sleep. That’s when I enrolled in the Holistic Sleep Coaching Program. The course went far beyond traditional sleep training, exploring how things like low iron, oral ties, and a baby’s temperament can impact sleep. My experience with highly sensitive babies had already shown me that the "one-size-fits-all" sleep methods just didn’t work for every family. Combining my years of hands-on experience with the knowledge I gained through the program, I launched Wildhood Sleep with one clear mission: to offer tailored, gentle sleep solutions that genuinely help families thrive. It’s been an incredible journey, and I can honestly say I’ve never looked back!Season 2 - Episode 23Find her here: www.wildhoodsleep.com https://www.instagram.com/wildhood.sleep/ https://www.tiktok.com/@wildhood.sleep---Thank you for watching or listening to my podcast. Going through my own pregnancy I found I was lost trying to navigate how to continue exercising, while also making sure I was keeping my body and baby safe. I wish I had someone I could personally connect with who could guide me through the different stages and feelings of what it took to exercise both during pregnancy and postpartum. All of this motivated me to get my pre/postnatal training specialist certification while I was out on maternity leave with my son, Cameron. Through my knowledge and personal experience, I aim to provide women with an education on prenatal and postpartum exercise, as well as help be an advocate for overall pre/postnatal women’s health.

Today we're going to discuss doulas and their prenatal visits, I do admit I went a little off into educating you on the facts surrounding a lack of education in today's world, and I also went on to explain what my prenatal services look like! This would be perfect for all types of people - especially other doulas. ---Thank you for watching or listening to my podcast. Womb Talk is designed by women for women. I've been dreaming about doing this podcast for a while. I started it in early 2018-2019 and carried on until before I moved. Follow along with me as I tell my story, my goals, and hopes for the future of this podcast.
Wanna hear a horror story?
It involves lots of blood and in-depth cringe stories! It is sure to give you a bit of a laugh either at the events that transpired or the fact that I waited so long to get help.
Take a listen to my story and let me know what you think about it! If anything has happened to you in a similar way message me on my website fruitfulwomb.ca cause I want to hear it all!
I can't be the only one who struggles with the mirror. Every morning and evening I get a new message as I look back on it. Body Positivity is something I promote with all my heart since I am always dealing with my own issues and I want to help others but sometimes we need to have a little leeway and listen to ourselves in the mirror.
Because we can always listen and absorb all the negative from others' words but never believe the positive as well.
I have spoken about in the past, my mental health used to suck and sometimes it still does. Depression affects millions and different styles from major depression to postpartum depression and so much more. I was never diagnosed with anything but I am certain I had it when I got to suicidal points.
This is a TRIGGER WARNING and goes into detail but if you are interested in me and want to know some of my stories this is something I highly recommend to listen to as you will understand me deeper.
Thanks for listening and come back next month!
I was so fortunate to speak with Lily Nichols the wonderful author of Real Food for Pregnancy and Real Food for Gestational Diabetes. This talk was amazing and she is the best.
Lily Nichols is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, Certified Diabetes Educator, researcher, and author with a passion for evidence-based prenatal nutrition. Her work is known for being research-focused, thorough, and unapologetically critical of outdated dietary guidelines. She is the author of two bestselling books, Real Food for Pregnancy and Real Food for Gestational Diabetes.
Go to her website, get the stuff that was mentioned and enjoy her stuff, cause she is the best. https://lilynicholsrdn.com/
Today we have with us the wonderful Abbey Barnosky, speaking on Prodromal Labour.
Her Bio: I am a full-spectrum doula, educator, and activist in Fort Worth Texas. I serve all kinds of clients at all stages of life and I also create resources for other birth workers as well. My heart is for low-income families, my goal is to create as many resources as I can for growing families that are easily accessible, affordable, and relevant. And my mission is to make sure that no one doesn't have the resources or services they need because of finances.
You can find her anywhere practically as you search up Voices of Eve or at her website: https://voicesofeve.net/
Thanks so much for listening!
In this recording, we had a little audio trouble. (tech difficulties, we all understand.) It was edited at the best of my ability. Thanks for listening!
Christy Willis is a wife of 18 years, a homeschooling mother of 5 (almost 6). She's the driving force behind her business Doula Moula, LLC where she provides business counselling for doulas, The Virtual Doula Course where she teaches birth workers all over the world how to provide virtual services to their clients, and the Doula Business Journal in which she's so delicately created to assist doulas in setting and reaching their business goals. With over 15 years of experience as a full-spectrum doula and a background in teaching, she's developed a style that's like no other! She's a go-getter who has a huge heart for the community aspect of birth work and a drive that motivates others as well.
You can find Christy at her website: https://doulabusiness.weebly.com/ || She is a wonderful person for all doulas, and for people needing a doula in their area!
Human Rights is a big subject for me and this includes lots of information that I have running through my brain, I may go off on a tangent and there may be a little shouting WARNING TO EARPHONE USERS
Have a wonderful Christmas and come back for Season 3 next month!
What does Fertility mean to you? I go over a bit what Fertility does and what it actually means. I go through a tough story that happened in my past and it may be a bit TMI. But it speaks through a struggle and people can learn more about me.
Infant Loss pains everyone in a different way, this applies to abortion, stillbirth, miscarriage and infants dying after the birth (due to sids or other reasons).
Don't be afraid to reach out for help at any time, and know I am a listening ear if you need it.
Hello,
Thanks for listening to my podcast, like always check me out on Facebook and Instagram. Fruitful Womb Doula Services
I want to give a big shout out to my training organization, Bebo Mia, the staff has been incredible and I love saying I am certified with a company such as them.
Big thanks to my Dad, and family for their support, especially my clients and my followers, spreading the word of my business.
Breastfeeding has so many cool features and this is something we love to support families with.
We go over a little about when the best time to breastfeed and even a pumping schedule for those having to work or go out without babe on your hip.
We want to mention that Fruitful Womb Doula Services Supports all families and their rights to choose breastfeeding or formula feeding.
Do you love your body? Do you like yourself and how you look?
I go on a little bit of a rampage with my emotions on Body Positivity and bring some positive quotes to light. I really want you to see some of the things I have dealt with and I hope to drive deeper into that in the future.
Take a listen on Body Positivity this month's podcast!
International Home Birth was on June 6th. I take the time to talk a little bit about home birth, my position and ask you some questions on what you would like with your future, or current birth experiences.
The options are endless and we talk a little about the stats provided by the Association of Ontario Midwives.
https://www.ontariomidwives.ca/home-birth-safety
Let's talk about Informed Consent.
What are your choices?
You have options and don't let any HCP bully you into something you do not want to do.
C-section Awareness Month is a way for mothers to know more of their options and to make them aware of the reasons why a c-section might be needed. I would highly suggest doing your research and making sure you have an open connection with your midwife and/or doctor to make sure you still have the choices in your birth!
Nutrition During Pregnancy.
