When we accept that there is much more than the usual understanding of self – at some point there is a deep acceptance, and we get out of our own way, so that this acceptance can allow something to flow through us.

Avecca pasāda – serene, unshakeable conviction – is based not on a belief, but rather on what we know for ourselves, through our own experience of practice. The more we are challenged, afraid, or distressed, the greater is the value of this conviction and its power to dispel afflictive mind states.
