On November 24, Thanksgiving Eve 1971, a man identifying himself as Dan Cooper walked up to the Northwest Airlines ticket counter at the Portland International airport and purchased a one-way ticket to Seattle. Hours later he would leap into aviation history as the only person to successfully carry-out the hijacking of a U.S. commercial aircraft. Today, perhaps you can help solve a mystery.
How is this connected to Cincinnati? Well, it’s not, BUT Cincy Shirts head designer Ricky Henry and podcast producer P.F. Wilson discovered a few weeks ago that they were both obsessed with this case! It’s retro, it’s interesting, and as a holiday season treat, these two armchair DB Cooper sleuths discuss this never-solved case.

Comedian-As many of you know, one of the owners of Cincy Shirts, Josh Sneed, gave up a career at P&G to pursue stand-up comedy. But he’s not the only person to do that. Indeed, there are a few others including Fairfield native Rajiv Satyal, who joins us via Skype from Los Angeles to discuss his journey from good corporate job to stand-up comic. He also talks about working with Dave Chapelle, combining his comedy and marketing backgrounds, embracing his Indian heritage while also maintaining a mainsstream comedy career AND there’s tea. Jim Sheets was the attorney for Sam the Chimp. Actually, he was hired by Sam’s owner, Kenny Harris, who also owned the Train Stop Inn and Cafe in what used to be called Foster. That's where Sam could be found occasionally hanging out with bar patrons. The bar is just east of Landen on the bike trail and today is called the Monkey Cafe. Kenny and Sam found themselves in some legal trouble brought on by the Humane Society and Jim represented them. Jim not only tells us all about that but about a famous athlete who hired him for a similar case, this one involving the ownership of tigers.

Comedians of Cincy Shirts
As many of you know, Cincy Shirts was founded, and is run by, stand-up comedians, at least that’s the shorthand version. Josh Sneed, one of the owners is a touring headlining stand-up comedian, Darin Overholser was a stand-up comedian when they started the company, but he decided he’d rather concentrate on the business as well as his art. He’s actually a very talented painter.
These days, a lot of comedians work for Cincy Shirts, and we thought it would be fun to play you some of our comedy. You’ll hear stand-up from Jon Holmes, Chris Weir, Billy DeVore, and, of course, Josh Sneed.
