In this talk presented to 550 college aged men, Fr. Mike Schmitz reflects on the Marks of Manhood and how college men can tangibly grow in virtue. Fr. Mike also speaks into the lies presented by the world to the feminine and masculine heart in whom only a father has the power to speak words of healing Truth into such brokenness. Fr. Mike concluded by challenging the men to begin now as college students to prepare in prayer and chastity for their future bride.

The Church's teachings on sexuality often seem difficult to follow and confusing to understand, but they are good news for love, women, and marriage! Join Fr. Greg Gerhart, vocation’s director for the Diocese of Austin, for a presentation on the meaning of sex, the effects of the pill on women, and the benefits of natural family planning.
Fr. Mike was our special guest at Rudder Auditorium for a special on-campus version of Magnify. He spoke about the importance of bringing Jesus with us in our daily lives the same way that he accompanied Peter in the boat in Luke 5. In the midst of our fast-paced culture, anxiety can be a stumbling block to fully living as a college student. Join St. Mary’s Counselor, Amanda Kapchinski, as she discusses how to view anxiety and anxious thinking in a new way. Amanda will explore how to honor this part of ourselves, how to better prioritize thinking, and how to invite the Holy Spirit into places of anxiety.

Has your prayer life been a little dry lately? This week at The Oratory Sister Clara discussed Lectio Divina, which is a way to pray intimately with scripture.
In this first episode of The Oratory, Fr. Chris discusses the basics of prayer, including tips on how to enter into prayer and make it a habit. He also discusses the ARRR method of prayer, which provides some great starting blocks to talk with God, even if you haven't really prayed in a while. The more vulnerable and intimate you are with God, the more intimate your relationship with Him will be.
Our former pastor, Bishop Mike Sis, joined us as the guest speaker for Magnify! He discussed how to have a fruitful Lent.
Our guest speaker Micheal Gormley spoke on Jesus' atonement and answered the questions: why does God allow Jesus to suffer on our behalf when we are the sinners? How does the atonement satisfy God’s desire both for mercy and justice? And was Christ able to freely choose his death on the cross?

Vespers is the Evening Prayer of the Liturgy of the Hours, which is the official public prayer of the Church outside of Mass. Since public Mass has been suspended, now is as great a time as ever to check it out. The Liturgy of the Hours consists mostly of the Psalms, but is also includes hymns, canticles, readings, and petitions. It's prayed by monks, priests, nuns, Pope Francis, and laypeople throughout the world!
