Former Canadian National Team Striker Alex Bunbury joins the program. Alex chats about his career both with the Canucks (Canada National Soccer Time) as well as West Ham United and CS Marítimo. Alex made his debut for Canada at the age of 17 and explains how it felt to barely miss out on making the cut for Canadas 1986 World Cup Squad. Alex explains what it was like immigrating from Guyana to Canada and how he became one of the first Canadians to play for a major European football. Alex went from playing in the Canadian Soccer League to signing with West Ham United and how he dealt with the lack of playing time and his fortuitous transfer to CS Marítimo of the Portuguese Primeira Liga (Portuguese First Division) where he amassed 59 goals and won foreign player of the year award and helped guide the club to an impressive finish in the 1994-95 Taça de Portugal in which the club defeated FC Porto before narrowly losing to Sporting Clube de Portugal (Sporting Lisbon). Have you ever wondered what's it like to play for a professional football academy and professionally in Spain? If so you are in luck. We are joined by Raleigh native and NCFC RB DJ Taylor. DJ shares his experience playing with soccer in Raleigh and how he went from playing in  Raleigh with CASL  to an academy in Spain.  Dj joined CF Torre Levante academy before playing professionally for them in the Spanish Fourth Division before returning home to NCFC. He has started 71 of 74 games, and recorded 5 assists; quickly becoming one of the clubs  top defenders.  He shares his thoughts on american soccer, mls, promotion/relegation and his time playing for North Carolina FC.  Tune in for  a fresh perspective on all things soccer related as well as how DJ transitioned from european to american soccer.
