Intimacy is important and so many people struggle to have close relationships - romantic or otherwise. In this episode, Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT) Fred Ingham defines Sex Addiction and Love Addiction and shares how he works with his clients to heal these addictions.

We talk about these addictions as an “Intimacy Disorder”. In his practice, Fred uses a combination of individual and group therapy to help his clients understand and change their behavior, while also working to repair the damage it has caused. Typically, the client’s sexual issues are intertwined with underlying problems of intimacy, emotional development, trauma and meaning – areas that Fred also helps clients address so that they may experience lasting change. Fred offers a lot of hope around how people can heal these addictions and find healthy intimacy in partnership. Other experts mentioned in this episode are Gabor Mate, Pia Mellody, and Anne Wilson Schaef.

"How do you find success in modern dating? Science. At least, that’s what Dr Duana Welch has devoted her life to, helping individuals find (and keep love) using science as a guide. Advice from friends and family can be helpful, but what about having a strategy to understand what works for most people, most of the time? There are, of course, exceptions, but do you want to be an exception? Dr. Duana says “There is a word for people who don’t devote strategy and concentrated effort to finding a partner, and that word is ‘single’”. Check out episode 43 of The Live your Life Podcast to learn more from Dr. Duana.

Dr. Duana Welch (pronounced DWAY-nah) is the dating coach and author known for using science to help men and women find and keep the love of their lives. A former professor in Florida, California, and Texas across 20 years, she is an expert for Paired, the science-based couples app, and she has contributed to NPR, PBS, Psychology Today, and numerous other outlets and podcasts. Her book Love Factually: 10 Proven Steps from I Wish to I Do, is out globally in five languages; its revised and updated edition released in 2022. She coaches clients worldwide, via Zoom and other technologies.

Episode 42 is about the connection between narcissistic abuse and chronic pain. After nearly three decades of enduring narcissistic abuse and four years of dealing with severe chronic pain, Adriana Bucci had to make the choice to embark on her own healing journey (her life depended on it). Once Adriana was able to see the connection between her abuse and her pain, she was able to heal her physical pain, as well as heal from narcissistic abuse. Narcissistic abuse came at her from every direction, most significantly from being raised by a narcissistic mother but also other close relationships, and even colleagues/toxic workplaces (they were everywhere!). Her healing journey inspired her to become a life coach so she could help other people. Her goal is to empower survivors of narcissistic abuse to heal, set boundaries, and live life on their own terms! Adriana is the founder of “Let's Get Your Shift Together” @letsgetyourshifttogether.

"If you have ever been involved in a legal battle, you understand how powerless you feel. It’s scary and it can be incredibly traumatizing. This podcast episode has so much wisdom and I’d encourage you to listen to it, even if you don’t foresee a legal battle in your future. Here is what they say about it.

“Litigation Survival School (LSS) offers Individualized Litigation Support for people going through litigation both with an attorney and without one. This includes a variety of methods. We teach people how to present themselves in Court and what to expect from the Court system. We help people cope with the trauma of going through the system, plan and prepare for litigation both inside and outside of the courtroom, and to implement the rulings in a way that maximizes their wellness. The offering is for education and information. Our course does not create and attorney-client or attorney-therapist relationship.

If you think of your case as a jar, and each person who participates in your case as a marble in the jar, you can easily see that there are gaps that are not filled by anyone in the system. At Litigation Survival School, we fill in the gaps that others cannot, to help you keep your glass as full as possible as you go through this intense, complicated process and beyond.

The reason Litigation Survival School is different from any other program is that the backgrounds of the two co-founders span an unusually broad range of experience and training. “

Valentine’s Day is an interesting day, it’s usually either wonderful or horrible. What I want to invite you to see is that most of what we are taught about love doesn’t work. Most of what we are taught isn’t love, and it’s definitely not self-love. We are filled with expectations of others and powerlessness because we have given our self-worth to the people around us. That is a set up, and that does not work.

Whether you are in a partnership or you desire one, I invite you to pay attention. Love and take care of yourself. Tend to your emotional wounds, that’s how we find healthy love. I could scream about self-love from the mountain tops and we might all hear it, but it’s still seriously lacking. Love yourself, first. Take care of yourself, first. That’s how we have healthy love.

I talk a lot about A Course in Miracles in this episode. Visit https://jasminesvare.com if you are ready to do some work.

Do we say "Happy 2021"? What a weird year and a weird life right now. I didn't really say that very much. In this episode, I share a little bit about my experience during quarantine and what I see happening in the people around me. I even share a little bit of my experiences dating after divorce in the midst of a global pandemic, hooray for a good time. We are all in this together and the most important thing for me is to do whatever I can do to experience peace. I wish you all so much peace and love. Let's hope that we can find that, even if it doesn't feel so "happy".

It's important to remember that everyone is existing in their own perception of reality. When you believe someone is doing something "to" you, it can be helpful and also more peaceful to recognize that everyone is reacting to their own internal beliefs and feelings. This often has very little to do with anyone else.

Do you ever complain? Why do you do it? Is it because you need to feel loved and supported? Is it serving something? In this episode, I talk briefly about complaining and how it might serve us, but how it can also keep us stuck in a victim mindset. How can we be more aware of the things that cause us strife that we have the power to change? Be aware of the changes you can make, instead of just being stuck in being unhappy. I reference two books in this episode, one is called “Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind” by Yuval Noah Harari and the other is called “A Complaint Free World: How to Stop Complaining and Start Enjoying the Life you Always Wanted” by Will Bowen. Both are great reads, I highly recommend!

Part of creating a peaceful life is practicing discipline with our thinking. Our brains are programmed with what’s called a Negativity Bias, we focus on what’s wrong or what could go wrong because that’s what our ancestors needed to do to survive. Gratitude is a simple way that we can redirect and focus on the things that are good in our life. Whatever we think about is our experience so let's set some intention to focus on what’s right instead of what’s wrong.

On August 8th, I celebrated thirteen years sober. I am a completely different person than I was thirteen years ago, as I'm sure many of us are. For me, it was back then that I chose to live a more conscious life and allow myself to be vulnerable enough to know that I had a lot to learn. I do not want to live an unconscious life where I don't deal with uncomfortable feelings, and that is the path I was on. I was on a path to the darkness, and now I find myself in the light. I choose to live a life where if something causes problems in my life, I change it. I want to fully experience an awesome life, and for me, that is a sober life. I hope you choose to live your best life too.

Express your emotions. Many of us learned to repress our emotions and sometimes this will lead to the emotions manifesting themselves as physical illness in our bodies. Your emotions are your most authentic and vulnerable part of yourself, let them be there and learn to express them in a way that honors and validates them and you. Own your life and know that it’s important for you to let yourself feel your feelings. I talk a lot in this episode about the work of Gabor Mate, MD and his book “When the Body says No: Exploring the Stress-Disease Connection”. This is so important, especially right now.

In this episode we tell the story of what inspired both of us to go on the camino and what we learned from the experience. Both Marcus and I got a clear message about what really matters in life.

It can be so simple to shift your experience of this life, but it is not always easy. In this episode, I discuss how our life experience can be transformed if we are conscious of what we are believing. I had a moment yesterday where I found myself very upset and that was the experience that I walked through the world with for a few hours. I took some time and dove into the beliefs that were playing out, I allowed myself to see what was happening and that is what allowed me to access what I really want - which is the truth, peace, love, empowerment. So many of us don't realize that we live our lives operating from old places and drastically impact our mood, without realizing that we can quickly shift. I am talking about high level emotional awareness, patterns, recurring experiences. I want to acknowledge that there is a lot happening in the world that creates more than just a "bad mood", I want to be clear that I am not minimizing anyones difficulty in life. What I know to be true is that there is an opportunity for a shift that many of us miss in our daily lives. I desire a life of peace and empowerment, and it's often more accessible than I remember, my hope is to always be reminded to come back to the truth.

This episode is meant to inspire you to begin a meditation practice, if you desire to. I am not a perfect meditating expert, but I do have a meditation practice that has been consistent for years. I invite you to start a practice, and connect more deeply with the most important person in your life - you.

As a ‘Flow Facilitator’, Brenda Loukes-Johnson helps people to move through life with more creativity, flow and ease, and ultimately, more love. She is passionate about teaching people to become their own ‘energy-maker’, ‘creative solution-finder’ and ‘flow facilitator’, so that they can give out more to the world where they are needed, from a full and wholehearted place. As a lomi lomi massage therapist, creativity coach and accomplished artist, she understands the link between the mind, the body and innate creativity (note: innate creativity has nothing to do with artistic talent!). Brenda knows how stress and fear affect the nervous system and shut down flow in the body, and that connecting to our bodies is the most healing thing we can do for ourselves. She creates beauty-filled, calming opportunities online and in-person, where people can experience what it is like to ‘come home to themselves’ and ‘find their flow”, so that they can feel healthier and stronger in their bodies and minds, and navigate life’s challenges with more calm, ease, flow and self-acceptance. She is a recovering perfectionist who has discovered what peace there is in ‘letting go and going with the flow’.

Tino Beth, the founder of Quantum Feedback, and host of The Quantum Feedback Podcast can be found exploring the leading edge of how our thoughts, feelings and actions feedforward into the quantum field to shape our reality. But you'll most often find him in nature studying the simplicity of the meaning of life. "At all levels, at every scale in the existence of life, there is an algorithm, a universal repeating pattern, that when realized wholistically triggers the awakening of seeking deeper connectivity with this principle."
