A Star Wars podcast about whatever the heck we feel like talking about on a given week (it's always about Star Wars, though.) Feel free to email us at skyhopperspodcast@gmail.com! We'd love to hear from you.
50% is better than 0%, huh? Cole and Dakota are here holding down the fort this week, and they spend some time getting Dakota's takes on a lot of the stuff they've missed while participating in whatever that weird brain scan study was and give just the smallest peek at their thoughts on Star Wars Visions Season 3! But in a non-spoilery way. We'll save that for when the podcast is closer to full strength.

In this very Wookieepedia-heavy episode, we catch up on some recent Ben Solo and Stinky the Hutt news, chat about why we do or do not own The Clone Wars on Blu-ray, and somehow manage to find our way back to wishing for a Solo 2. Pretty standard business around here. Except for all the bits about Whiphids.

THE CLONE WARS is on pause this week since Dakota is… missing? In an experiment? I truly don’t know. But we don’t need that show! In our freshly-named random article segment SKYHOPPERS SPECIAL SAUCE, we take a look at an artifact from Star Wars RPGs past and once again discuss the nature of canon before talking about Troy Denning and his love of bugs and take a bit of a look back at Star Wars Squadrons.

It’s finally here! The first teaser trailer for THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU has graced our screens at long last, but are we ready for it? Can we even tell what “it” is? Get the answers to all of this (as well as many of the questions you might’ve had about the New Jedi Order series of Legends novels) this week!
Full show notes: https://notes.moseisley.xyz/s/WtUw4MLgA#
We’re all back! For the first time in what feel like ages, we’re getting together to discuss Maul’s hostile takeover of Mandalore! Non-stop action! Political intrigue! Myriad deaths! But first, you know we’ve gotta hit you with some segments, which delve into topics such as the cancelled Heart of the Jedi novel by Kenneth C. Flint and… copyright infringement? I promise it makes sense in context.
Full show notes: https://notes.moseisley.xyz/s/dt4y3nBDG#
I know I said we’d be talking Clone Wars this week, but that was before I knew we’d be down not one but two hosts. Sigh. But Cole and Dakota are here to rescue you with all of the segments you’ve come to love as well as some Starfighter chat! Also crickets. A LOT of crickets.
Eva is once again missing so Clone Wars is on hold for just one more week (we will be doing it next week come Hell or high water), but we’ve got segments! And two of us have finished the High Republic, so we have a lot of good discussion about that! And then general morass of Star Wars current events talk including Mando and Grogu, Starfighter, and whether or not any of this Star Wars stuff is ever actually going to release ever again.
Full show notes: https://notes.moseisley.xyz/s/vjDBDThcP#
Eva is missing this week, so Clone Wars is taking a back seat yet again! This one gets a little weird. We spend WAY too long debating what constitutes a “tunnel” in the objective sense. But outside of that, a fairly standard episode: segments, and then discussion of a Screen Rant article! Specifics include: what makes Luke Skywalker a Jedi? Does Book of Boba Fett provide anything of worth to the franchise? And finally… Grogu: what was he doing there?
Full show notes: https://notes.moseisley.xyz/s/qAk9JSiCL#
Since Dakota left us out to dry this week regarding our TCW rewatch, we pivot to… a lot of different things! Why did the Jedi accept the Clone Army seemingly without question in Attack of the Clones? Have our feelings changed on The Rise of Skywalker since its release? Is LFL ever going to release the version of A New Hope that was originally released in 1977? And the dawn of a new age regarding a classic segment.
Full show notes: https://notes.moseisley.xyz/s/7v0sfAfNc#
Well listeners, it’s finally here: the D-Squad Arc of THE CLONE WARS. But did we hate it as much as we thought we would? Kind of. But there are also a few things to appreciate here as well. Also included: a buckwild ranking of Star Wars video games, some spoiler-free discussion of The New Jedi Order: Traitor, and the Jedi status of certain republic colonels.
Full show notes: https://notes.moseisley.xyz/s/vdS04ulnj#
With Eva still being gone, our CLONE WARS rewatch is pushed back another week. Meebur Gascon will still be there when we’re all together again next week, though, so just be patient! Instead this week, we talk the 2002 video game BOUNTY HUNTER, debate the canonicity of coloring and activity books, Star Wars at SDCC, and spend far too much time talking about Karen Traviss.
Full show notes: https://notes.moseisley.xyz/s/wwum7H9Qb#
This episode is a little insane. Dakota and Eva are absent, so we decided to skip out on Clone Wars this week as not deprive them of their time spent with Meebur Gascon. Instead, we completely go off the rails on an Is It Edible? and spend some time diving deep on “This Week in Star Wars.” Also we talk about the New Jedi Order and Karen Traviss for some reason? Obroa-skai Walkers is leaking.
Full show notes: https://notes.moseisley.xyz/s/TsBsDPqjk#
The Youngling lightsaber crystal arc of THE CLONE WARS this week! We have a lot of fun with these episodes, and experience a fair amount of dread knowing what comes next. Also included: Is It Edible?, a truncated This Week in Star Wars, and some discoveries regarding a certain KSE Firespray-class Patrol Craft.
Full show notes: https://notes.moseisley.xyz/s/1JjI4OITj#
Two whole weeks in a row. We’re really doing it folks. And in this super-sized continuation of whatever “it” is, we’re diving into the Onderon Rebellion arc from Season 5 of THE CLONE WARS! How they ever pulled this off is a mystery. We also resurrect a favorite segment from the past.
Sorry for the wrestling nonsense, but also not sorry.

WHAT. We’ve made the journey back from the Unknown Regions to bring a podcast to your ears! And all four of us at that! Going forward, we’re really going to be leaning into our CLONE WARS rewatch, so you’ve got that to look forward to!
Obviously, a lot has happened in the last six months, so we’ve got a lot of discussion to catch up on. Celebration, movies, TV, and so much else. This one’s a bit of a grab bag, but it feels darn good to be back <3

The results are in: we're all in LOVE with Skeleton Crew!! Fern! Neel! Wim! KB! SM-33!!!! There is so much to love, and this is very much an episode in the classic style where we basically just gush for the duration. Well, once we get through all of the other pent-up Star Wars nonsense that you know and love us for.
Sigh. I'm not gonna make a big deal about how we're back. I respect you all too much for that. But Skeleton Crew pulled us out of our hovels long enough to talk some Star Wars! Well, that and some interesting casting rumors.
The Acolyte season 1 has come and gone! And we're left feeling conflicted! Positive overall, but still conflicted. Who's right? Who's wrong? Did the right people do the wrong things? What is Vernestra's deal? All I know is that there had BETTER be a season 2!
Two episodes inside a month! Maybe we really ARE back. At least Cole and I. Dakota is on a plane maybe? Anyway. Episodes 4-6 of The Acolyte this week! Consider us floored.
By the will of the Force, we've returned!!! It's been quite a minute, but The Acolyte is here to bring us out of hibernation. Does it live up to the hype from the last three and a half years? We think so, but there's still plenty of show left to unravel...
This is a very special episode because we're joined by the famous friend of the show KIRBY to chat about his feelings on recent Star Wars media as well as his personal relationship with the franchise. Which of course gives Cole and I plenty of room to talk about those things as well. News is light, but we're all hoping for a big 2024 from Lucasfilm!
We're back for the second week in a row to discuss the finale of season 1 of AHSOKA. Overall? Pretty dang good. But are we left with more questions than answers? Also discussed: From a Certain Point of View: Return of the Jedi! Also very good!
Well, I wasn't able to join Cole and Dakota on this episode traipsing around beyond the reaches of our known galaxy, but I'm sure they had a FANTASTIC conversation recapping episodes five and six of AHSOKA. But I guess we can all just listen and find out, can't we?
Ahsoka continues, and there are big things happening!! And then some things happening that are maybe supposed to be big, but they didn't feel that big to some of us. But we're all enjoying the show and looking forward to see what happens next!
Also... this episode contains a very important lesson about not believing everything you see on the internet.
Ahsoka really does just feel like Rebels part two, and it's all the better for it! We catch up on the three episodes that have come out to date and end up feeling pretty warm and fuzzy about them, against all odds (but not really because of Ahsoka herself. Like at all). Ben is also continuing on the journey to catch up with Canon and has moved on to Black Spire hot off the heels of Rise of the Red Blade, which we loved.
We were at Gen Con two weeks ago! Which was fun, but it kept us away from the podcast. But we're back now to report on the Star Warsy things we did at Gen Con as well as to spend like 45 minutes talking about Ahsoka (both the show and the person).
We do some catching up this week: checking in with Cole re: Jedi: Survivor, talking to Dakota about Path of Vengeance a little bit, and of course... the Ahsoka trailer. There's a lot to say about that last one.
THE WAIT IS OVER! You've all been waiting with bated breath, right? I'm sure. Anyway. Eva has taken a step back from the pod, but the rest of us are here to (mostly) cover (mostly) everything we've missed! Mando S3,. Visions, THR, and Survivor! It's good to be back, friends. Thanks for sticking with us <3
Oh... and don't forget to check out our Mastodon instance at skyhoppers.club!
Hi! We've been gone! And we're not sure exactly when we're going to be back. But we're talking about it!
This might be the biggest Star Wars podcast ever recorded. That's probably hyperbole, but I don't even care because it certainly felt that way. We cover not one but TWO episodes of THE MANDALORIAN leading up to the season finale and of course everything that dropped at STAR WARS CELEBRATION. Excitement ensues!
This week's Article From the Archives: Solaest Fleet
We made it!! Somehow, against all odds, we made it to episode 300. And in typical Skyhoppers fashion, we get up to some nonsense: a Star Wars... draft? There are different categories and we all take turns taking things from those categories and it's FUN. Thank you all so much for sticking with us for all this time <3 Here's to 300 more!! P.S. Listen... I know I called out an episode title in this episode that doesn't match the actual episode title. I looked everywhere in the episode and couldn't find it. I apologize.
I resent being killed by my cohosts on this episode, but I wasn't there so what was I to expect? Despite my absence, they intrepidly carry on talking about episode 5 of Season 3 of THE MANDALORIAN and the finale of Season 2 of THE BAD BATCH!
I resent being killed by my cohosts on this episode, but I wasn't there so what was I to expect? Despite my absence, they intrepidly carry on talking about episode 5 of Season 3 of THE MANDALORIAN and the finale of Season 2 of THE BAD BATCH!
Eva is not quite caught up with The Bad Batch but we're all on the same page regarding THE MANDALORIAN! Season 3 is definitely off to a different start than seasons 1 or 2, but is that a bad thing? We discuss!
Recording OFF-SCHEDULE (which is funny because we recorded on Wednesdays for such a long time that it really just feels like we're back ON schedule) because THE BAD BATCH and THE MANDALORIAN are just that good! Crosshair! What's he up to? Where will he end up? Din Djarin! Did Bo-Katan give the Darksaber back for a reason? Will Grogu continue to do flips? Who IS Thrawn? All of this and more!
My god, there is too much happening! But that's actually a good thing. I was hoping that The Bad Batch episode might have been a little more forgettable this week so that we could spend more time with THE MANDALORIAN SEASON 3 premiere, but alas, that was not to be. So we get to talk about TWO awesome episodes of Star Wars TV this week! How incredible is that??
Eva is back! Again! We're hoping our new recording schedule means that they will be back on a regular basis from now on. But they bring some interesting thoughts about TBB S2, so we're happy they came home.
Dakota and Ben sit down with the intention of talking about Episode 9 of Season 2 of The Bad Batch, and while they get there eventually, they take a lengthy detour through The High Republic land and catch up with some discussion about Convergence by Zoraida Cordova and "new adult" novels!
The plan to rescue Han Solo episode
OKAY. SO. We've had a pretty rough release schedule recently, but we've just made a deal that will keep us on a more regular and sustainable recording schedule (hopefully) forever. And we picked a good week to come back on because THE BAD BATCH is so freaking killer and none of us could wait to talk about it.
This is 1) late and 2) not even really an episode of Skyhoppers. But despite our rough release schedule (which is hopefully being addressed going forward), Cole and I were still able to get together and record Obroa-skai Walkers. And since the first half of that show tends to be about The Bad Batch, we decided to kill two mynocks with one stone. And hey, if you like our specific brand of Star Wars rambling, go check out Obroa-skai Walkers!
Ben and Dakota are joined by Austin from THE OSSUS PROJECT to talk about THE BAD BATCH season 2 episode 3: THE SOLITARY CLONE. Best episode of the series so far maybe? Probably.
They're back! Kind of! From The Ossus Project archives, this episode that was recorded many moons ago finally makes its appearance! Austin and Luke sit down to cover the comic adaptation of Han Solo At Stars' End and Knights of the Old Republic issues #0-#6.
Eva makes their triumphant return to lead us in a mini discussion of the Episode I Adventures comic from 1999 before we vault into our dissection of the first two episodes of the second season of THE BAD BATCH. We're checking back in with our friends like Hunta and Tik and of COURSE Amiga.
The Ossus Project lives! Albeit in a slightly different form. Listen in and learn more about what Austin has in store for 2023!
Ben, Cole, and Dakota are here to present the last Skyhoppers episode of 2022! After tackling a wee bit of news re: The Bad Batch and Jedi: Survivor, we dig into our favorite Star Wars things from the last year and make fun of Cole for being behind on reading.
OBVIOUSLY we have to get into the penultimate episode of Andor this week and talk about what might be yet to come, but then we spend a weirdly long time in a good-faith discussion about the (sparse) usefulness of Jar Jar Binks as a dramatic character rather than a comedic one. Also comic shop shame.
AGAIN Ben and Cole do their best to sneak in about 40 minutes of Andor talk before Eva makes their appearance, and boy howdy is there a lot to talk about. Then the discussion towards Jedi Survivor which leads to a larger discussion about some Star Wars vidya. A typical Sunday morning in Skyhopper Land!
If this episode sounds a little different, it's because it is! I had to use the stream audio for this one due to some tech issues. What else is new? Anyway. We get into some spoiler talk before our resident Andor-and-TotJ-behinder Eva shows up, at which point we start discussing some of our favorite Canon things in honor of the tenth anniversary of the Disney acquisition! What's your favorite thing from Canon? Also HAPPY BIRTHDAY COLE
This is an... unorthodox episode of Skyhoppers. In that it isn't meant to be an episode at all. This is actually the first half of an Obroa-skai Walkers episode where Cole and Ben talk EXTENSIVELY about Episode 7 of Andor. So it's basically a Skyhoppers episode. Enjoy!
EVA LIVES. But they've moved literally across the country so they have been missing out on Andor, which is incredibly unfortunate as we all know. So we try to discuss that in as spoiler-free of a manner as possible and then spend a surprising amount of time talking about Lego Star Wars. Chalk it up to us recording on Sunday mornings now, I guess.
Hooboy. Andor is really REALLY something, huh? It doesn't take up the entirety of the discussion this evening, but it gets a vast majority of our airtime. But it's just me and Cole, so obviously Obroa-skai Walkers leaks just a little bit.
We recorded on a Sunday night to bring you our complete thoughts on the first three episodes of ANDOR. Spoiler alert: we all think it's great and can't wait for more. Also: apologies on the audio quality this week. Technical difficulties led us to this point, but I'm just glad the episode still exists! Hopefully you are too.
I am all alone this evening! We're pushing our recording back this week so that more of us have time to watch the three episodes of ANDOR, but I still felt like talking about Star Wars. So I dug out some of the books from my collection and talked about why I think they're important for half an hour! Maybe that's your thing! Maybe not! Anyway, I tried my best!
Ben and Cole go all in on the news from D23! And then end up getting stuck almost entirely on the Mando Season 3 trailer. Because who wouldn't?
Sure, sure, Andor is the new hotness, but Cassian wouldn't exist if it weren't for ROGUE ONE. And to celebrate the film's limited re-release in IMAX, we revisit it this week! What still works? What doesn't? All of this and more!

"At last we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi... At last we will have our revenge." It's time, listeners! He's back! We're covering the last four episodes of Season 4 of The Clone Wars this week, and Maul makes his triumphant return! Also Ventress does some awesome stuff and Bossk is there.

Ben and Dakota are FINALLY playing a Star Wars RPG, Cole has finished Shadow of the Sith, and Eva is back on Lego Star Wars! And then we spend too much time talking about video games while we're trying to do the outro. It's a mess.
A myriad of topics this time! Andor trailer, use of the Volume compared to REAL SETS and PRACTICAL EFFECTS, and Cal Kestis in live action??? It's less likely than you think.
Regular listeners! This is the fourth in a series of Patreon-exclusive episodes that I record with Austin of The Ossus Project where we take deep dives into various aspects of the Star Wars -verses, both uni- and meta-. Have this one on the house, and consider subbing at our Patreon for as little as $1 a month to get all future episodes as well as the three that we've done already (plus all that sweet, sweet After Hours content).
Original description:
In this month's Skyhoppers Saturday, Austin and Ben take a deep dive on STAR WARS ROLEPLAYING GAMES. Specifically the West End d6 system because they're sickos for that kinda thing.
The Clone Wars is back! This week we're all about the Obi-Wan undercover arc with all of our scummy friends, up to and (maybe) including Moralo Eval. Additionally, Eva takes us on a wild ride regarding Splinter of the Mind's Eye. You won't wanna miss it.
I guess this is part two from our books episode that we released last time?? Dakota is back, so we catch up on Brotherhood a little bit as well as Rogue Squadron. After some (spoiler-free) gushing about Shadow of the Sith and Matthew Stover, we have a great chat regarding the place of novels in the ever-growing Star Wars universe. For not having a topic when we sat down, this one turned out great!
Sowwy. No new episode dis week ;_; Life is hard! So have an old episode! I picked this one because I recently had a discussion with a friend about how TPM is clearly the best Prequel film. I will not be taking criticism at this time.
Original description:
Guess what? July is still Prequel Month here at the Skyhoppers Podcast! And we're doing something that we've never really done before: a deep dive on a specific movie, with the movie in question being The Phantom Menace. Every saga has a beginning, and we're here to talk it to death.
Eva is back! They join the show to give a few thoughts on the Kenobi finale before sending us into a discussion on the recent happenings in the world of Star Wars books! It's been far too long since we've checked in on that front.
The Kenobi finale obviously takes center stage here, but we catch up on the bit of comics news we missed, the impact of leaks on our enjoyment, and there's no way we were gonna get out of here without talking at least a LITTLE about "Corran" (Horn).
The OSW episode with thoughts about Chapter V
This episode is SO BIG. So big that we learned how to perform necromancy to bring back our buddy ASH from ROGUE PODRON. We try to touch (at least a little bit) on all of the big news from Celebration AND try to cover Kenobi through Part IV. It's a lot. But I think we succeeded in delivering a good episode! And Eva wants more people to get their necks snapped.
I am alone this week! It's a very weird feeling. But I also can't believe that I haven't done this yet because you all know how much I love the sound of my own voice. But anyway, this is a little recap of my trip to Anaheim, Disneyland, and Celebration and my thoughts on all of the news we got. There was so much!!! * The Skyhoppers Website! * The Skyhoppers Podcast on Patreon * The Skyhoppers Podcast on YouTube * Ben's Twitter * Cole's Twitter + Ben and Cole's other show Obroa-skai Walkers * Dakota's Twitter * Eva's Twitter + Eva on ScreenRant + Eva's articles on BWT + Eva on Twitch * The Skyhoppers on Twitter * The Star Wars Commonwealth
Some light Brotherhood talk leads into some mild Ronin talk (Dakota has read it too now) which leads into the meat of this week's episode: the Vanity Fair articles! Star Wars is alive and well and we love to hear it!
We still find ourselves in that pre-Celebration lull, so we just kind of have at it again this week! Ben talks about his Star Wars collection database, we round up some rumors, and speculate a bit more on Kenobi and lament the lack of a narrative middle ground for the series. You'll understand what we mean when we get there.
Who needs a topic for a Star Wars Day episode? Not us! Despite not having one when we sat down, we found quite a few. In this episode: Attack of the Clones! Kenobi trailer! Star Wars Galaxies! Disney Gallery: The Book of Boba Fett! And Yum Brands cups from 20 year ago!
We're back from our little Skyhoppers Spring Break! And we come bearing CLONE WARS. Season 4 really hasn't let us down outside of that first arc, which makes me wonder how long that streak can continue. Hopefully at least until the Droid arc in Season 5. Prepare yourself for the most graphic violence that The Clone Wars has to offer!
Sheryl Crow said "every day is a winding road." and this episode is no exception. We talk about Celebration, The Last Jedi, Lego Star Wars, and... nostalgia? I don't know man. We always talk about Star Wars. We don't always promise that it will be relevant.
This episode has PATREON QUESTIONS about Star Wars Eclipse and Fallen Order! It has lightsabers! It has HOME RELEASES! And it has a tiny Ewok figurine! Among many other objects from our Star Wars collections!
Dakota is once again missing, but Eva is curious about starting their journey through LEGENDS in earnest, so Ben and Cole are here to serve as not only their guide, but also the guides for any of you that might be wanting to read some of the best Star Wars content out there without knowing where to begin.
Dakota is back!! And to celebrate, Lucasfilm finally dropped the OBI-WAN KENOBI trailer!!! Can you even believe it???
It's a speculation grab bag this week! Ben and Cole dive into what we know about all of the upcoming Star Wars projects this week, some very minor Rogue Squadron "news," as well as myriad other topics. And they only talk about Blu-rays for like five minutes. That's gotta be some kind of record. * The Skyhoppers Website! * The Skyhoppers Podcast on Patreon * Ben's Twitter * Cole's Twitter + Ben and Cole's other show Obroa-skai Walkers * Dakota's Twitter * Eva's Twitter + Eva on ScreenRant + Eva's articles on BWT + Eva on Twitch * The Skyhoppers on Twitter * The Star Wars Commonwealth
We had a topic, but we never made it there. We ended up maybe putting the last nail in the coffin of our discussions of Ronin, talking about a potential rebirth of the Legends continuity, and yes, briefly positing the theory that maybe Dubya was responsible for the Yuuzhan Vong's invasion of the Star Wars galaxy.
Well, we couldn't make it happen this week, folks. Too many forces working against us and too many cohosts unable to pod any casts. But enjoy this episode from back in time until we get back next week!
Original description: How many quiz episodes can this podcast do? Never enough. That's how many. But (supposedly) they're fun because you listeners can play along with us! This week, Dakota and Eva answer some quetsions from "The Ultimate Unauthorized Star Wars Trilogy Triva Challenge". It's pretty wild.
Well folks, it's finally here: The Book of Boba Fett has drawn to a close, albeit a very satisfying one. I'm very sad to see it go, but we got some badass fights, a badass rancor, and some badass character moments, so what's not to love?
This episode of The Book of Boba Fett was... challenging for a few of us. Some interesting (and seemingly out of place) cameos and plotlines threw us for a loop, but after one of our patented Skyhoppers Therapy Sessions, we're all at peace.
I was worried because this episode of the podcast was all about The Mandalorian, but then I remembered that Episode 5 of THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT is literally called THE RETURN OF THE MANDALORIAN and then I figured that that was probably okay. Anyway, prepare yourselves for our discussion of the best episode of THE MANDALORIAN to date!
Eva's article about Star Wars: Eclipse and Quantic Dream
The title says a lot, listeners. In a rare Ben-less episode of Skyhoppers, Cole, Dakota, and half an Eva discuss the fourth episode of THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT: THE GATHERING STORM! (Editor's note: I loved this episode and I'm sorry if these buffoons said anything truly abhorrent. But I trust them.)
Aside from an obvious bantha in the room, Episode 3: THE STREETS OF MOS ESPA was good!! Rancors! Danny Trejo! Hutts! Pykes! X-Men?? Okay, not really. But still!
Eva's article about Toem: https://uppercutcrit.com/toem-the-beauty-of-taking-your-time/
Jesus CHRIST this show is so so so good. But you didn't need me to tell you that. This week we're talking about Episode 2 of The Book of Boba Fett: TRIBES OF TATOOINE!!! This week also features the best laughing fit that we've had on the show in a long time. Maybe ever.
From the depths of the Great Pit of Carkoon, Boba Fett lives! We finally have the first episode of THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT. And it was great. So so so great. It goes without saying, but spoilers ahead!
Since Eva and Dakota are out this week, Ben and Cole decided to just record Obroa-Skai Walkers and pass it off as a Skyhoppers episode! They go through 2021 and rank each of the books they read this year against the others. But even if you don't follow that podcast, they spend some time talking about Book of Boba Fett (ONE WEEK) and ranking Legends books too!
Listeners, I'm sorry, but we watched the Star Wars Holiday Special again. Maybe put this commentary track on while you enjoy the 1978 Holiday Special with your loved ones this year.
YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6hH8rxarVG8
Since we're hitting you with some of the worst Star Wars ever created this week, we thought you could use some of the best Star Wars ever created in penance. It's a Skyhoppers Flashback to when Ben and Ash talked about X-Wing: Rogue Squadron! That's kind of topical, right?
Original description:
The Book Club book for January was Rogue Squadron! Prepare yourself... there's lots of Corran Horn ahead. Some might say too much.
If I tell you that another potential title for this episode was "Merry Chissmas," you'll probably be able to guess what it's about: LESSER EVIL by Timothy Zahn! But since it's just Ben and Cole this week, it's basically an abridged episode of Obroa-skai Walkers focusing on a Canon novel. Spoilers ahead!
In this special edition of The Skyhoppers Podcast (maybe), Ben is joined by longtime friend of the show Austin from The Ossus Project to talk a little bit about the shakeups that are happening in the world of Star Wars comics! IDW is losing the Star Wars license and DARK HORSE COMICS is making their triumphant return! What does this mean? Why is it happening? What do we want to see out of our old friends at Dark Horse? All of this, and so so so much more!

The gang's all here! And we're all ready to discuss THE UMBARA ARC of The Clone Wars! This is by far the most positive Clone Wars episode we've ever had, and for good reason: these episodes are GREAT. But we first we do a book check in! Eva finished Revan and is reading Life Debt, and Cole finished Lesser Evil!! No spoilers, though.
Ben and Eva talk about Disney+ Day while being more confused than negative, a check-in on feelings about THE RISE OF SKYWALKER, and then get to the main(?) topic of getting deep on some PLANETS! We've been out of the in-universe game for too long and it's time to make a return.
A lot of Star Wars news happened this week, and although much of it might be fake, we cover it anyway before jumping into three episodes of THE CLONE WARS that kind of surprised us! Well, two of them did, anyway. Also, Cole makes a good sound.
This episode is a bit of a grab bag (and that's funny I guess?). Dakota and Ben are alone, so they talk about Maul rumors and news, Ronin, a few mini topics and the BOOK OF BOBA FETT TRAILER.
We're coming in hot with the first three episodes of season 4 of The Clone Wars! Many old Skyhoppers inside jokes make their reappearance, but all in all, we weren't as high on these episodes as we remember. Find out why!
Since all of us WANTED to podcast this week but only Dakota was able to, he decided to get drunk and cry about Ahsoka. And by that I mean that he is doing a commentary on the first two episodes of The Siege of Mandalore! Full disclosure: this is REALLY meant to be listened to while watching these episodes.
75% of the Skyhoppers are here to give you their takes (of varying degrees) not only on the last three episodes of Star Wars Visions, but also the MOUNTAIN of Star Wars book news that came out last week! (Of course, it dropped the day after we recorded. Whatever.)
Even at half strength, we bring 100% of the love for Star Wars Visions. Ben and Eva take some time this week to talk about "The Village Bride", "The Ninth Jedi", and "T0-B1". And at one point we say "NFT" out loud for SEO purposes.
We were not able to pull together an episode this week, but we have something almost more special for you: Cole was absent on our episode where we discussed the Clone Wars movie. He is choosing to rectify that by doing a solo commentary of the film! It is not recommended to listen to this without watching the movie at the same time, but hey, I can't tell you what to do. Make sure to show Cole some appreciation this week.
We will never escape the Star Wars news cycle. Even on light weeks! But thankfully we didn't get too wrapped up and forget to talk about STAR WARS VISIONS. At least the first three episodes of it, anyway!
News, news, and more news! It seems to never end this week folks. We've got THE HIGH REPUBLIC. We've got HUNTERS. And we have KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC!!!
It's a trip back in time this week, folks. Ash returns from the dead to discuss the darker side of Star Wars: scum and villainy!
Original description: This week, Ben and Ash do a deep dive on the seedy underbelly of the galaxy in honor of Solo! Black Sun, the Hutts, and... snakes?

We might be down a Cole this week, but we planned to talk about STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS film, and by god, we're gonna do it come hell or high water. Our overall opinion? Probably not nearly as bad as you remember (at least with the benefit of 7 seasons of a TV show for context).
The place for all things Skyhopper: https://skyhopperspodcast.com/
This week, we unleash all of the speculation that we kept under wraps last week! Not just for the Bad Batch, but for everything! Thrawn! Mando! And also The Bad Batch! Additionally, this episode is coming out a day early since five years ago on this day, August 26, 2016, the Skyhoppers Podcast was released into the world. Sorry about that. But thank you for sticking around. <3

In this 4th outing, our hosts Luke and Austin explore Jedi of the Republic and all-around weapon Mace Windu. Why does he have a blue lightsaber in initial appearances? Is he good at talking to other Jedi? All of this and MORE as we explore Star Wars: Jedi: Mace Windu from Dark Horse Comics and Star Wars: Jedi Of The Republic: Mace Windu #1-5 from Marvel Comics.
Issues covered this week: Star Wars: Jedi: Mace Windu #1; Star Wars: Jedi Of The Republic: Mace Windu #1-5.

This week: pretty much a little of everything. The worst cold open we've ever had, Star Wars comics, Star Wars home releases (plus a fun laser disc surprise), Star Wars Visions, and Star Wars: The Bad Batch finales!!
The place for all things Skyhopper: https://skyhopperspodcast.com/
This is one of our classic "this episode was supposed to be about one thing but ended up being about other things" episodes. We set out to talk about Palpatine since it was Ian McDiarmid's birthday (just his, no one else's), but then we talked about Ahsoka? And Thrawn? Whatever. I know that I had fun.
Watch an Okiro video
The place for all things Skyhopper: https://skyhopperspodcast.com/
In their 3rd episode, Austin and Luke jump back into Legends with In the Shadow of Yavin, a controversial take on original trilogy characters, and also a fun little canon story about Mace Windu taking down child slavers! We also manage to talk a bit about High Republic and also what some Marvel comic creators and what Star Wars stories we’d like to see them take on.
Issues covered this week: Star Wars (2013) #1-6, Age of Republic Special #1 “The Weapon”
The Ossus Project on Twitter
This week: Disney wants to send you to fake space for $5000, Lego reimagines Death Troopers, and then we talk some spoiler-free High Republic and some spoilery Bad Batch!!

In another life, July was Prequel Month here at the Skyhoppers Podcast. And while we didn't talk about anything explicitly NOT Prequels this month, we didn't push it nearly hard enough. But we're closing the month with the Prequel to (literally) end all Prequels: REVENGE OF THE SITH.
The place for all things Skyhopper: https://skyhopperspodcast.com/
Join Austin & Luke this week for an extra long episode of the Ossus Project covering Jason Aaron’s first story arc on Star Wars, Skywalker Strikes, and a short Tales story, Apocalypse Endor. The podcast is not without tangents as we discuss toys, X-Men comics, The Suicide Squad and more! Issues covered this week: Star Wars (2015) #1-6, Tales #14 “Apocalypse Endor”

WESA FINALLY HOOOOMMMEEE! It feels like it's been a million years, dear listeners, but Ben, Cole, and Eva are finally back together to talk about the Ryloth episodes of The Bad Batch! Hera Syndulla! Chopper wreaking havoc!! Howzer!!! We've got it all, baby! Including some little newsy bits.
The place for all things Skyhopper: https://skyhopperspodcast.com/
In a shocking turn of events, we don't have a Skyhoppers episode for you this week. But it's only because we have an entirely NEW podcast for you to listen to!!! Our good friends Luke and Austin have started new comics podcast called THE OSSUS PROJECT that's going to live here while they get off the ground. This week, they're covering issues #50 and #55-58 of the Star Wars: Republic comic!! Check it out!!!

Star Wars Visions! The Bad Batch! Directors! Cad Bane! Star Wars is doing great and we're here to celebrate it this week! But mostly by talking about The Bad Batch episodes from the last two weeks.
The place for all things Skyhopper: https://skyhopperspodcast.com/
It's been a busy week for your friends at the podcast this week, so unfortunately we weren't able to get a new episode together. So enjoy this episode from season 1 where Ben and Ash talk about Ralph McQuarrie!
Original description:
Welcome listeners to Season TWO of the Skyhoppers Podcast!! Not really. But we're officially past 100 episodes, and that's pretty neat. Not wanting to miss a beat, Ben and Ash spend some time this week discussing Ralph McQuarrie and the influence his concept art has had on Star Wars to this day, as well as a lot of the production design of the movies and how that ties into their identity. A bit of a loose episode, but there are very few tangents and some good discussion!
Here's the link to the Imgur album of Ralph McQuarrie art we were looking at: https://imgur.com/gallery/Cj0ir
This week we talk about episode 7 and 8 of The Bane Ba-er, The Bad Batch! Lots of drama (some of it at the expense of logic/orders), lots of Rex, and lots of great Wrecker content!!!
The place for all things Skyhopper: https://skyhopperspodcast.com/
The podcast is AGAIN at half strength this week, but it's the other half this time! Dakota and Eva lament the lack of gays in Star Wars by doing their own little Pride episode!! Also it is episode 229 even though Eva says 228 only to be promptly congratulated by Dakota for getting it right. Happy Pride everybody!! Audio hiccups are left in situ as to not taint this historic occasion.
The place for all things Skyhopper: https://skyhopperspodcast.com/
Even though the podcast is at half strength this week, Ben and Cole soldier on through episodes 5 and 6 of The Bad Batch. A lot of action, but also a lot of good character moments as well on top of a few mysteries! They don't even spend THAT much time talking about Canon Concerns.
The place for all things Skyhopper: https://skyhopperspodcast.com/
A very discussion heavy episode this week! We're missing Dakota because he died, but the rest of us get into our first-ever voicemail, a terrifying Star Wars would you rather, the partial RPG-ification of the franchise and what that's meant, and the nature of Star Wars "content." Very all over the place, but not in the way you might have come to expect from us.
The place for all things Skyhopper: https://skyhopperspodcast.com/
On this week's episode of The Piehoppers Skodcast, it's time for more Bad Batch! Who is Omega? We don't know, but we love her. We also love Fennec Shand. And Wrecker. And basically all of them. But most of all, we're excited about the officially sanctioned scamming of Grans. Remember: good soldiers follow orders.
The place for all things Skyhopper: https://skyhopperspodcast.com/
On this holiest of anniversaries (or close to it), we're talking about the reason we're all here: STAR WARS EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE. Kind of a retrospective, kind of a meta discussion, but for better or for worse, all Skyhoppers.
The place for all things Skyhopper: https://skyhopperspodcast.com/
It's finally here! Our long-awaited (by us, anyway) discussion of the first two episodes of The Bad Batch! But first you've gotta sit through our speculation about the much-rumored Knights of the Old Republic remake first, though. Sorry about that.

THE DEAD SPEAK. Sadly Eva is not here to hit us with their classic bit of saying that line at every chance, but Ash is here to take their place! And by a complete coincidence, Ash had also watched the GENNDY TARTAKOVSKY CLONE WARS recently, so we get to continue on as planned! It's a long one, but a good one. And, yes, we're gonna talk about Bad Batch soon.
The place for all things Skyhopper: https://skyhopperspodcast.com/
Take a step back through time and space to when Ash was still with us (RIP) and listen to Ash and Ben talk about the original Clone Wars series in preparation for the new hosts' feelings next week!
Original description:
After 130+ episodes of this podcast, Ben and Ash are finally getting around to talking about the original Clone Wars microseries created by Genndy Tartakovsky that came out between Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith. Part of the reason for the delay is that Ben hadn't actually seen it until very recently. Heh. But it's here now, and that's what counts!
We're finally getting back around to ATTACK OF THE CLONES! This oft-maligned Prequel has so much more going for it than the popular discourse would imply, and we're thrilled to finally not get distracted by something else and actually talk about it.
"Padawan Lost" and "Wookiee Hunt" this week! Season 3 of The Clone Wars draws to a close with a bit of a bang in the form of some high-quality Ahsoka content.
Also, skyhopperspodcast.com has returned! It's still slightly under construction, but it's at a point where we feel comfortable sharing it with all of you. Check it out and tell us what you think!
Don't worry, he's not gone forever. But due to his departure, we end up skipping on our main topic this week and just see where the Star Wars takes us. Lots of Thrawn book chatter, three Legends books are getting reprints (and Shatterpoint is getting a new audiobook!!), and before he leaves, Ben and Dakota chat a bit about Victory's Price. And then everyone else talks about some of the Star Wars Vintage collection that just came to D+. There's a lot happening here, folks.
Back at it with The Clone Wars this week! We're taking on the wonderful Citadel arc and we're just tickled to be doing so.
Eva's Twitter
This week we're again joined by Oaty (as well as the rest of the hosts for once) to finish up our discussion of old Star Wars video games! We get dummy thicc in the weeds on Dark Forces, Dark Forces II, and the Rebel Assault games! More details than you would ever care to know!
Eva's Twitter
This week, Ben and Eva (sorry Dakota) are joined by longtime fan/friend Oaty to talk about a few of the old Star Wars computer games, primarily the games from the X-Wing series. There's a lot of discussion about these games at a very high level along with talk of what makes them special and unlike high-profile Star Wars games that we see released today. However, the things that Squadrons takes from them are not to be ignored, so we touch on that too.
Eva's Twitter
It's been a minute since we sat down to talk about one thing and ended up talking about many other things instead! This one takes many twists and turns as Ben, Dakota, and Eva discuss Kevin J. Anderson Legends Books, the cancellation of certain Canon books, season 3 of The Mandalorian, and Attack of the Clones. And somehow it's mostly seamless? Weird. Anyway. Enjoy!
(Editor's note: I chose the episode title I liked better anyway)
Eva's Twitter
Lovely listeners, it's finally here: this week we're talking about Mortis. Episodes 15-17 of Season 3 of The Clone Wars, to be more precise about it. For the first time, the four of us all end up in separate corners on certain issues. But Mortis is nothing if not divisive, so you don't want to miss this one!
Eva's Twitter
It's just Ben and Dakota this week, so of COURSE we're gonna talk about Canon books. Which ones are we looking forward to? Which ones have we enjoyed most recently? How is The High Republic going? (Spoiler: it's going good.) Hopefully Eva and Cole will be able to rejoin us next week, but until then, enjoy this adventure into all things Star Wars literature!
Eva's Twitter
Cole is safe and warm but unfortunately very busy, so he's out this week. Instead of our planned topic, we cover a lot of the little bits and bobs that have come out in the last few weeks. We also spend a lot of time on The High Republic, but since Eva hasn't finished Light of the Jedi yet, that discussion remains mostly spoiler-free.
Eva's Twitter
Cole and Dakota are absent this week, but that void is filled by our longtime buddy Jason! And he's brought his giant page of notes regarding agriculture in Star Wars! This one is a bit different in that it's one of our rare episodes that touch on how Star Wars interweaves with real life, but there's plenty of in-universe discussion too.
Eva's Twitter
This week we're FINALLY getting back to our rewatch of The Clone Wars after taking a giant Mandalorian-shaped hiatus, and boy howdy did we come back on some real doozers! (Doozers are good in this case.) Ventress? Savage?? MAUL??? Episodes 12-14 of Season 3 this week!
Eva's Twitter
Lucasfilm Games is back, and they're bringing a new open world Star Wars game that isn't being developed under EA! Big news! And also maybe there's a new KOTOR game?? Probably not. I wouldn't get excited if I were you.
Eva's Twitter
It's finally here! We finally get around to doing all the setup for the RPG we're going to be playing here once a month for the foreseeable future! But not before we spend some time discussing what the future might hold regarding Andor and Alan Tudyk. It's a little cloudy, as the future tends to be. Fair warning: this episode is a little meandery and wandering once we start creating characters, but if you're into tabletop roleplaying games or are interested in learning about them, this might be a good place to start! In fact, we all do a little learning this week I think.
Eva's Twitter
Some of us were indisposed this week for various reasons so our plan fell through. So have this old episode that Meg from Rogue Podron was on! Hopefully next week is kinder and we get to follow through with our big plan.
Original description:
This week, Ben and Ash are joined by Meg from Rogue Podron to talk about... dads? Obviously the big ones get hit on (Vader, Galen Erso, etc.), but of course if you're familiar with Rogue Podron, you know Legends dads come up as well. Specifically one Hal Horn.
Eva's Twitter
Okay, listeners. We finally get around to discussing the best bits of Star Wars that we consumed in 2020, but not before we spend far too much time talking about the new stuff coming in The High Republic as well as some first impressions on what's already released, and theeennnn Star Wars Insider? It's all over the place, but it's all Star Wars so it's fine. Except for the bit about rings near the end.
Eva's Twitter
Ummm... I think we care about Bad Batch. And a whole heck of a lot of other new Star Wars things that are coming out! We haven't gotten a chance to touch on the stuff from the investor call in earnest, so we're sending 2020 out by looking forward to the future of Star Wars!
Oh. And also the show comes out on Fridays again. In case that wasn't clear.
Eva's Twitter
Season 2 of The Mandalorian has drawn to a close in tremendous fashion, and it's left us with a lot of thoughts, questions, and feelings. Some stuff AFTER the episode also left us with some thoughts, questions, and feelings! And as we predicted, we have since learned that The Book of Boba Fett is its own show coming in December 2021! Exciting stuff!!!

Thanks for joining us for the super special crossover holiday special. Happy Life Day to you and yours!

Some conflicting feelings on Chapter 15: The Believer! But we all agree that Din Djarin is great, and that's what matters. Also: Is It Edible?, Checking In With Eva, and Return of the Cole!!!
Eva's Twitter
Chapter 14: The Tragedy. This is basically the Boba Fett Stan podcast now. Of course, that's not ALL we talk about. But it's a lot of it. Who heard Grogu? What's the deal with the Empire?
Eva's Twitter
Chapter 13 of The Mandalorian was almost everything we'd hoped it would be and more. Once Ben finally gets the intro right (enough), we talk about how TRANS RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS and then go into the episode! It's left us with many many questions, but in a good way.
Eva's Twitter
Mando season 2 keeps on trucking, so we do too. Not that anyone ever thinks any episode of a Star Wars TV show will be BAD, but it's safe to say that we were all blown away by how good this one was.
Eva's Twitter
Don't worry, we don't make you wait long to learn the reason for this absolute wild episode title. But after we get that nonsense cleared up, we're right back into THE MANDALORIAN. BO-KATAN?? AHSOKA?? The hype levels are off the charts right now.
Eva's Twitter
The special project for episode 200 is still in the works, but it's still cooking. So instead, we're just giving you that sweet sweet Mando content that you all crave! Who says Mando isn't special enough for episode 200 anyway??
Eva's Twitter
OKAY. Another weird one. We weren't sure if Cole was gonna be here the whole time, so we didn't commit to episode 200. Instead, we just talked about what's really on everyone's minds: THE MANDALORIAN. Absolutely insane opening to season 2. There was no way we WEREN'T gonna talk about it this week, really.
Eva's Twitter
This episode is a little weird. We were SUPPOSED to do episode 200 this week, but then Cole couldn't make it. So instead we talk about The Rise of Skywalker, the Mandalorian (and its possible home releases), and From a Certain Point of View pt. deux! HOPEFULLY next week we'll hit you with our very fancy episode 200 B)
Eva's Twitter
This week, we're tackling episodes 8-11 of season 3 of Clone Wars, and that proves to be difficult since there is a lot of Ziro to take down over here. Also, ARE Separatists people?? We may never know.
Eva's Twitter
Coming to you from three and a half years ago, Ash is back to talk about the Sith! Kind of. We couldn't record this week, so rather than skipping, we're putting out a super old episode that some of you might not have heard! And if you have heard it before, it's certainly been quite a while. Sorry to miss this week, but we'll be back before you know it!
Eva's Twitter
Listen up, you statistics: this episode is something entirely new. We were gonna talk about TCW and couldn't. Then we were gonna make our RPG characters, but then we couldn't. So we decided to spend our time talking about Star Wars Screen Rant articles, and the conversation that comes out of it is more in-depth than you might believe.
Eva's Twitter
This one is VERY special since we're joined by our friends Luke and Austin! And we dig pretty deep into most aspects of Star Wars comics, with a particular focus on collecting. If you don't know where to begin with Star Wars comics, this is probably a good place to start!
Eva's Twitter
Ash and Ben never fully got around to doing an entire episode on The Mandalorian, so she's joining us this week (due to the fact that she's visiting Eva) to finish the job! Lots of talk and speculation about the trailer with a healthy dose of Season 1 thrown in for good measure. Chaos ensues.
Eva's Twitter
Sadly, Dakota is not with us this week so we don't get to do the cool episode we teased last week quite yet. However, he has given us his blessing to finally talk about JEDI: FALLEN ORDER. And talk about it we do. I knew we could talk about this game, but I had no idea we'd do quite this much gushing. I guess I shouldn't be surprised!
Eva's Twitter
It what may be our most underwhelming TCW episode yet, we're talking about episodes 5-7 of Season 3 this week. Clone Wars is very good, and these episodes land as a resounding "meh" from all of us. However, there's a bit of a deep dive on Satine that makes the whole thing worth it in the end.
Eva's Twitter
Big news! We're going to be playing an RPG on the podcast once a month! Hopefully that's exciting! This week we spend a little time talking about the various different RPG systems that Star Wars has inhabited over the last 30 or so years. and then talk about what we're going to be doing with ours!
Eva's Twitter
Clone Wars is back with Season 3 this week, and honestly it hits us with some of the worst chronology nonsense that we've faced yet. And Cole isn't even here to guide us through it! Episodes 1-4 of Season 3 this week!
Eva's Twitter
The Skyhoppers Podcast has done an episode about Solo: A Star Wars Story in the past, but we're taking another crack at it now that we've got some new hosts who have their own opinions! How does the score hold up? What about the aesthetics of the movie as a whole? Also............... Victory's Price, Aphra audio, and Lego Star Wars Holiday Special???
Eva's Twitter
Our first cold open with our new hosts! Talk of Solo and soundtracks gives way to a bit of Cassian casting news, and then onto our main Clone Wars event! The last three episodes of season 2 this week. They aren't the strongest the series has ever been, if you ask us.
Eva's Twitter
How many quiz episodes can this podcast do? Never enough. That's how many. But (supposedly) they're fun because you listeners can play along with us! This week, Dakota and Eva answer some quetsions from "The Ultimate Unauthorized Star Wars Trilogy Triva Challenge". It's pretty wild.
Eva's Twitter
The two saddest episodes of The Clone Wars? Quite possibly. The Zillo Beast deserved so much better than she got, and everyone should take a moment to remember the horrible injustice that was done unto this majestic creature. "The Zillo Beast" and "The Zillo Beast Strikes Back" this week.
Eva's Twitter
Back when Ash was on the show, we definitely talked about clones at some point or another. But there are three new people on this podcast, and Ben has been thinking about clones WAY more than usual due to reading Hard Contact for Obroa-skai Walkers, so we're doing it again! Are they just fleshy droids? Why do the Jedi just accept them with no scrutiny? We don't know! But we talk about it anyway.
Eva's Twitter
In a double continuation of both Prequel Month and our TCW rewatch, we're tackling "Senate Murders", "Cat and Mouse", and "Bounty Hunters"! Make sure to send us an email or let us know how you feel about "Bounty Hunters" on Twitter so that Ben can feel either less alone in liking it or even more dejected, depending on your feelings. Also, BAD BATCH TV SHOW??? Lots of complicated feelings on that as well.
Eva's Twitter
Guess what? July is still Prequel Month here at the Skyhoppers Podcast! And we're doing something that we've never really done before: a deep dive on a specific movie, with the movie in question being The Phantom Menace. Every saga has a beginning, and we're here to talk it to death.
Eva's Twitter
Big news: Anakin is literate! And we hate it. More importantly, we spend this episode discussing episodes 12-14 of season 2 of The Clone Wars, otherwise known as the first Mandalore arc! Plus lots of Fett discourse.
Eva's Twitter
ASH IS BACK. For this episode, anyway! And we're (ostensibly) here to talk about the High Republic! Specifically the first chapter of Light of the Jedi, which was released on the Del Rey website this week! We're all pretty hyped. Also... Star Wars has too many eggs.
Eva's Twitter
As you might have expected, we are going over episodes 9-11 of season two of The Clone Wars! Unfortunately both Cole and Eva are missing this week, but we've got a Terrelian Jango Jumper, so that's gotta count for something.
Eva's Twitter
Star Wars has always been inherently political, and anyone that disagrees is very much missing the point. Anyone who thinks the Empire is right is very much missing the point. Star Wars is anti-war and anti-facist, and we wanted to talk a bit about that this week. And of course, there's a new FACPOV book to discuss as well as some weird Mandalorian rumors. It's good to be back, folks!
A link to our Twitter thread with some resources for George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Black Lives Matter in general. It's far from exhaustive, so make sure to seek other things out on your own.
Eva's Twitter
Have you ever watched a Clone War? We watched FOUR Clone Wars for this week. It's the second battle of Geonosis and all the freaky-deaky brain worms that that entails!
Eva's Twitter
This episode is about... the plan to save Han from Jabba's Palace? And without spoiling anything, we're pretty sure we've figured it out. Also we talk about Solo a lot for some reason. Probably because we like it.
Eva's Twitter
Kicking off Clone Wars Season 2 this week! Cad Bane steals a holocron! Rush Clovis is... awful. "Holocron Heist," "Cargo of Doom," "Children of the Force," and the god-forsaken "Senate Spy" this week! Also, is Dakota Chewbie? Only time will tell.
Eva's Twitter
In this SUPERSIZED episode of the podcasts, your hosts take you on a wild ride through the wide world of STAR WARS LEGENDS. This episode has been on the back burner for a long time, but with Star Wars things slowing down for a little while, the timing seems prudent. The best time to get into Legends is yesterday, after all!
Eva's Twitter
Hey, Ash is (kinda) back for this special release to celebrate May The 4th and she assembled a panel of wonderful women in Star Wars fandom to talk about the best characters and moments of the GFFA that don't involve any men! WARNING this one is not safe for the kids it contains strong language and talks of how we want to sleep with Maul.
Quarantine is still kicking! But so is our Clone Wars journey. And on this exciting week, we wrap up season one! The Ryloth arc plus "Hostage Crisis"!
Eva's Twitter
Have you ever wondered who has the best butt in Star Wars? Well. We're here to tell you. More importantly, we talk about our best and worst from many categories in this supersized episode of The Skyhoppers Podcast! Jedi, Sith, starships, and butts, apparently. It's better than it sounds, I promise.
Eva's Twitter
As you might guess, lovely listeners, we're continuing our Clone Wars journey this week! "The Hidden Enemy," "Blue Shadow Virus," and "Mystery of a Thousand Moons!" More Nuvo Vindi than you can (or would want to) shake a stick at. Or is it Ringo Vinda? Who knows.
Eva's Twitter
In their first run at "the big leagues," your new hosts take on their first character episode as a cast: the KYLO REN episode! He's arguably the best part of the Sequel Trilogy, and there's a lot of nuance in his character that bears discussion. However, we all know the boy ain't perfect.
Eva's Twitter
This week, your intrepid hosts are discussing "Jedi Crash", "Defenders of Peace", and "Trespass" on their journey back through The Clone Wars! Lots of characters to hate this week. Also lots of lemurs.
Eva's Twitter
As in typical Skyhoppers fashion, your hosts (all four of them this week) set out to discuss the balance of the Force in a general sense, but get sidetracked on the Mandalorian for a good chunk of time. And as always, the usual nonsense, including a new segment called "Is It Edible?" DO NOT email georgelucas@gmail.com.
Eva's Twitter
We are FINALLY continuing our Clone Wars recap, and we hope to make it a more regular feature on the podcast from now on. We're discussing episodes 9-12 of season one, or "Cloak of Darkness," "Lair of Grievous," "Dooku Captured," and "The Gungan General." Cole is missing in action (though he was here for After Hours), at least until the very very tail end of the show. It's a whole weird thing.
Eva's Twitter
Welcome to season 2 of The Skyhoppers Podcast! For real this time! In this episode, we learn about our new cohosts, as well as how Dakota's mom invented Machete Order, how a certain Full of Sith host ignored Eva at SWCO in 2017, and how Cole is so, so, SO peeved at Dave Filoni all the time. Also, Rogue Podron is hereby cancelled. Don't really know why, though.

The long and short of it? Ash is leaving the podcast. And we're very sad. Very very sad. But this isn't the end! Just a period of transformation. Something like a Clawdite would do.
This week, Ben and Ash take on their feelings regarding TROS a few weeks down the line (a positive experience), feelings on the state of discussion in Star Wars fandom, and THE MANDALORIAN FINALE. It was SO GOOD, RIGHT??? Also the answer to the burning question: how does Cole ~really~ feel about Babu Frik?

FULL SPOILERS FOR THE RISE OF SKYWALKER!!!! It's finally here! We have seen The Rise of Skywalker and our favorite baddy in it! What did each of us think of the film, and what did we make of Palpatine's role in it? Did we think this was a good cap off to the saga, and with it (?) Palpy's story? On the last installment of the Palpacast (at least for now) we dive into all of this and more.

In the penultimate episode of The Palpacast leading up to The Rise of Skywalker, we discuss Palpatine in the vast multimedia of Star Wars! What were our favorite appearances of his in the various animated series and books. We also discuss how we're enjoying The Mandalorian, how we're feeling in the run-up to TROS (remember it's pronounced "TROS"), and talk a lot about Pokémon. This episode is also pure chaos. Enjoy!
This one gets a little all over the place as you might have come to expect from us by this point, but it's mostly focused on the MANDALORIAN. As it should be.

WE'RE ALIVE. That hiatus got a little out of hand, huh? But it's all over now. Everything is fine here. How are you? Things won't necessarily be ~quite~ the same as before, but we get into that on the episode. It's nothing serious. Generally we're just trying to get back to our roots and have more fun with the show. All that aside, we had a LOT of catching up to do. The Mandalorian! Fallen Order! So much is happening all the time. It's good to be back, y'all.

In the third episode of The Palpacast we discuss Palpatine in the Sequel Trilogy era, joined by our friend and the host of the Project T.A.H.I.T.I. and Lousy Beautiful Town podcasts, Jess! What was Palpatine up to do during the time of the Empire's reign? Was he actually interested in running a government or did he have weird Force stuff he wanted to do instead? Also, what is Palpatine's "love spot?" We have very serious discussions on this podcast. Enjoy!

In the second-ever episode of The Palpacast we discuss Palpatine in the Prequel Trilogy! What do we make of his diabolical schemes to overthrow the Republic and destroy the Jedi? Were we smart enough as kids to understand that Palpatine and Sidious were the same person? (spoiler alert: no) What do we make of the terrifying implications Palpatine's rise to power has with the politics of today? Also, why do the Sith keep declaring revenge on people? We also discuss some of Master and Apprentice and the legacy of Qui-Gon Jinn, and how he messed everything up by dying. Enjoy listening!

HUGE DISCLAIMER: THE PODCAST IS NOT ENDING!!!!!
This little blurb of an episode was pretty hard to do. We love doing this podcast, but it just gets hard to do every week after three years straight. So we're taking a break. It doesn't feel great, but it's going to be good for the show in the long run. Our deadline for coming back is the first week of November! We say that so that we hold ourselves accountable, and you can help hold us accountable.
Y'all are great and we love each and every one of you. Thanks for understanding, and we'll see you on the other side better than ever. <3
Since Lizzy derailed the episode so hard last week (we love you Lizzy), Ben and Ash take the time THIS week to delve a little bit further into the TROS teaser released at D23 last week. But because Ash is on the podcast, they spend WAY too much time discussing Han Solo first.

For Obroa-skai Walkers, Byn is reading Shatterpoint. This means he's thinking a lot about the Dark Side. So that's what he and Ash are talking about this week! Of course, there's plenty of talk about Kylo Ren and Palpatine in TROS as well.

This week, Ash isn't here and it sucks. The literal pits. But, to save the podcast at the last possible minute, Danny from Rogue Podron swoops in to fill the cohost role this week! It's no secret that we love Rogue Podron over here at the Skyhoppers Podcast, and we're super happy to have Danny on finally. However, we're gonna have to do it again when Ash is actually here so we can have a proper episode. Danny brings lots of lovely talk about Resistance, favorite critters in Star Wars, and the Star Wars Creature Madness Bracket, which is a HUGE deal for a lot of Star Wars Twitter.

In the inaugural epsiode of The Palpacast, Adrian Ash, Ben, and Swara come together to talk about why they love this diabolical and malicious baddy in a Galaxy Far, Far Away. We each talk about when we first encountered Palpatine, what we made of him then and what we make of him today, discuss why we love villains so much, and speculate on how Palps returns in The Rise of Skywalker!

Listeners! This week's episode is one based pretty much entirely on wishing and speculation. That basically means that Ben and Ash basically just spend an hour talking about things that feel are missing from Star Wars. Not in a negative way, but rather things that they would just like to see! It's pretty unfocused, in classic Skyhoppers style.

In this VERY special episode of the podcast, Ben and Ash are joined by Brooklyn of Twitter and A Star Wars Story podcast fame! Brooklyn has a bit of a different perspective regarding the possible redemption of Kylo Ren than Ben and Ash, so having her on to discuss that seemed like a no-brainer. A good one for sure! Also, RIP MoviePass.

Some light rumors appeared on the internet this week concerning a possible third Star Wars TV show on Disney+ centered on Maul, Kira, Crimson Dawn, and... Obi-Wan? These rumors weren't taking things by storm or anything, but it generates some interesting discussion all the same. Ben and Ash don't think it's terribly likely, but it's not impossible!

There are mistakes, and then there are MISTAKES. It took SO long for Ben and Ash to finally get around to doing an episode on Hera Syndulla, but this week they put things right. Well. Ben and Ash were going to talk about Resistance this week, but Ben decided he'd rather come across as WAY saltier than he really is about Galaxy's Edge. And then somehow the conversation goes towards marketing in Star Wars, and then Canon vs. Legends? It's a weird and wandering episode this week, but the discussion is worth the lack of strong direction.

CW: A few minor rape mentions in the context of Game of Thrones
So. The showrunners of Game of Thrones are getting a Star Wars series. What does this mean? Honestly, Ben and Ash couldn't tell you. But that doesn't mean they don't have thoughts on it!
(Ben says: There's echo in the episode this week. I'm sorry. There's not much I could do about it.)

Very recently, the Star Wars community lost one of the most beautiful souls it's ever known in Peter Mayhew. Obviously, this is heartbreaking, but rather than wallow in sadness, Ben and Ash spend this episode celebrating Chewbacca and the impact that he's had on the Star Wars universe. He's a wonderful character that is loved by all but somehow still almost universally underrated, as the hosts discover over the course of their discussion. Of course, the obligatory The Rise of Skywalker speculation rears its ugly head as well.

This episode is an experiment of the highest order. Basically Ben and Ash screw around on Wookieepedia for an hour. But before you turn it off, know that there's actually good discussion! And a great deal of it focuses on lekku. Wookieepedia is an important resource for our hosts and countless other people, so the discussion gets pretty meta at times too. A bit weirder than the normal Skyhoppers fare, but interesting all the same.

This is the Skyhoppers tackling the second half of all the stuff that came out of Celebration this year! Since Fallen Order discussion takes up a big chunk of the episode, it only makes sense that a little bit of Battlefront II discussion would occur too, right? Ben and Ash talk about the trailer for Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker. No jokes in THIS episode description. But of course, there was so much great stuff at Celebration that they couldn't NOT discuss at least some of it, so the discussion went pretty long. Surprise!

As you might guess, the title of this episode from a joke Ben made about the fate of Plo Koon in VERY poor taste. But thankfully the stink of that joke only taints the very end of the show. More importantly, this episode marks the beginning of the Skyhoppers' (sure to be very long) trek through THE CLONE WARS. Rebels got this treatment, so why shouldn't TCW get the same treatment, albeit a bit belatedly? This week, Ben and Ash start covering the series with the first episode and then the two-episode Malevolence arc!

This week, Ben and Ash talk about a character that is admittedly not the favorite of either of them: Count Dooku. It isn't necessarily his fault that he doesn't capture their hearts and minds, but they take some time to examine why that might be. This episode is also timed just so that they also get to discuss Dooku: Jedi Lost and what they want out of that!

CW: Abuse mention
This week, Ben and Ash are joined by our old friend, our old buddy, and our old pal Alexandra! It's been far too long. This podcast is definitely no stranger to wild speculation, but sometimes in the context of the greater Star Wars fan community, wild speculation grows into fan theory. Sometimes during that metamorphosis, the word "wild" remains, leaving us with "wild fan theories." On this episode, our intrepid hosts dive deep on a few of those.

That's right, they're ALL the Muftak. Not really. Wouldn't it be wild if they were? This week, Ben and Ash do a grab bag discussion of production design in Star Wars! They touch on costumes, props, and starships (of course), all while walking through a couple of the Star Wars Visual Dictionaries for clarity's sake. There's a fair bit of nostalgia in this one, too.
Since this episode was recorded a week early, Ben's Creature Madness bracket has probably been completely obliterated by this point. Moment of silence for him.

The Skywalkers are kind of a big deal, huh? This week, Ben and Ash dive deep on what exactly the legacy of the Skywalker family will be when it's all said and done. Were they a net negative or a net positive? Should they never have existed at all? Obviously this isn't speaking to the individual characters, but rather what they actual mean for the galaxy. Luke Skywalker is still perfect.

On this episode of The SearchEngineOptimizationHoppers Podcast, Ben and Ash tackle the (very) expansive subject of the entirety of the Old Republic. Topics include BioWare's 2011 MMORPG, Knights of the Old Republic, and Tales of the Jedi. Because of COURSE. They also talk at length about the overall ~feeling~ of that era in relation to more classic Star Wars and why it doesn't always quite land for both of them.
Also the joke that led to the title of this episode happened off-mic. You didn't miss anything. It isn't supposed to make sense to you.

This episode SHOULD be called something about Star Wars Muppet Babies, but a decision was made against that for reasons that remain a mystery. But what Ben and Ash DO cover this week is Grand Admiral Thrawn! Both Legends and Canon, as it should be. There's also a fair bit of speculation about his future, because what kind of podcast would this be if there wasn't?

This week, rather than spending an entire episode dunking on Reylo, Ben and Ash attempt to understand the ship and why people feel so strongly about it while also attempting to express their opinions in a way that makes them seem like Not Jerks. No one on this show is a Reylo shipper, but the tone is kept polite, if nothing else.

This week is the long-awaited return of the much-beloved mini-topics episodes! Also a lot of hyphenated words. Topics include: favorite lightsabers, oversized things in Star Wars, and the horrible camera controls in the video game Star Wars: Bounty Hunter. Also there is a LOT of discussion about how hot Asajj Ventress is.

Ben and Ash haven't talked about the upcoming Star Wars TV shows much recently, have they? Well, this week they're rectifying that error! Of course, before they get into talk about The Mandalorian, they have to cover the future of Artoo and Threepio in Episode IX and beyond all because Anthony Daniels tweeted. That tracks.

This week, Ben and Ash are joined by the Iden Versio expert of Star Wars fandom herself: Bria! The episode is meant to be about Iden in particular, but if you know anything about this podcast, you KNOW the conversation of course extends out to Inferno Squad in general. Bria has a lot of really unique viewpoints and has very clearly thought a LOT about Inferno Squad, so she's a joy to have on this episode (even if she makes it a point to break hearts over these fictional characters).

This week, the Skyhoppers bring their first series of episodes to a bittersweet end: Ben and Ash are talking about Empire's End (the conclusion to Dark Empire, not the Chuck Wendig book). It's WILD. If you haven't listened to our episodes about Dark Empire (Episode XIII) or Dark Empire II (Episode LXXXVII) or read the comics/listened to the audio dramas themselves, you should definitely start there or it's gonna feel even more wild.

This week, Ben and Ash come out of NOWHERE and talk about superweapons in Star Wars?? What's that about?? You'll have to listen and find out! Star Wars certainly isn't a stranger to them, and we've got all of your favorites this week. Assuming one of your favorites is litigating Starkiller Base. Again.

This episode is pure chaos, but in the best way. We have a grand total of six whole people on The Skyhoppers Podcast this week because this is the first edition of the Skyhoppers Trivia Challenge! Ben and Ash are joined by Skyhoppers Patrons Dakota, Mike, Darren, and Patron/friend of the show/repeat guest Jason of Holy Star Wars! And the best part? You can play along at home! Make sure to share your scores with us on Twitter or through an email!
Slight correction: Han says they're in the Anoat system and Ben just can't remember specific movie quotes like a dingus.

In the (sort of) Skyhoppers tradition of doing something special around Christmastime, Ben and Ash watched A New Hope and did a commentary track this week! There aren't too many periods of dead silence, so feel free to just watch the movie in your head if you have to. Or put it on while you watch the movie with friends or family this holiday season!

For December's character episode, the Skyhoppers dive deep on the most likely reason that Ben loves the red and black combo as much as he does: (Darth) Maul! His story has already been mostly told, so the future of this character is uncertain. Will he show up again? Do we want him to? Get Ben and Ash's take here! They also talk about easter eggs in Star Wars? Not quite sure how they get to that.

Time to put on your tinfoil hats and talk about how Mace Windu is Snoke! Not really. This week, we're talking about Mace Windu's grandson: Finn! This is a first for us, since we haven't seen the conclusion to his story, so naturally the show drifts into where he might end up in Episode IX!

Listeners! This episode is our first-ever Patreon live streamed episode! It was a ton of fun, but don't worry, it's still just a normal episode. This week, the show opens with some discussion of The Mandalorian, but Ben and Ash spend most of the time talking Resistance and where it fits into the Star Wars franchise as a whole. How should we approach it critically? Just who is this show aimed at? What do its prospects look like? All of this, and MORE!

Listeners, after much too great of an absence, Alexandra is finally gracing us with her presence again! It really has been way too long. But she recently was able to watch Solo for the first time, so we brought her on to talk about it! There's a lot of good discussion now that Ash and Ben have had some time to sit with the movie a little bit longer and Alexandra is able to inject her own viewpoints into the conversation.

This is primarily an episode about Jyn Erso, but this is the new dog episode, everybody. Ben and Ash are joined by Ash's dog Wedge at various points throughout the first half of the show, but eventually he becomes too much to handle and our intrepid hosts have to postpone recording for the evening. But! They come back better than ever with a strong second half that contains even more of the Jyn Erso discussion that you love.

This week, Ash and Ben go for something a little bit different: a deep dive on a planet! Tatooine is clearly very important to Star Wars, but it's usually talked about as though it's insignificant and worthless. But there's really tons of info on the planet (canon and otherwise) that makes it into so much more than a big ball of sand and rocks. A lot of time is spent talking about Sand People, but of course there is also some speculation as to how the planet might fit into Episode IX!

Hey YouTube, what's up. This week, I'm gonna talk to you all about how I KNOW that Dash Rendar is canon and that no one can convince me otherwise even though my one piece of actual evidence is dubious at best, and my speculation is simply baseless. AND since Dash is officially canon, that by extension means that not only is Shadows of the Empire canon, but so is Knights of the Old Republic. The mouse finally listened.

This episode is quite unlike any other Skyhoppers episode thus far. This week, we're joined by Sal from the YouTube channel ComicPOP to talk about some of the uglier topics in Star Wars that maybe aren't so fun to discuss, such as the potential for a negative future for Star Wars. But the discussion is in-depth and there are good points all around, so take the dive anyway!

This week, Ben and Ash are joined by long-time friend of the show and Skyhoppers Patron Eva! The discussion is ostensibly about Anakin Skywalker, but it ends up dovetailing into his parallels with Kylo Ren as well as where they diverge, and then somehow makes its way to the state of canon and what that word actually means? It's all over the place, but in the Skyhoppers way, so it's good.

The Skyhoppers have been to Gen Con and back! No one found us to say hi, which is a little disappointing, but we still love all of you. This week, Ben and Ash discuss the rumors regarding Jon Favreau's TV show and continue the conversation from last week about games! There are even some ridiculous stories from both Ben and Ash's various Star Wars tabletop RPG campaigns. There's also a lot of discussion of Star Wars Destiny. Basically this podcast should be sponsored by Fantasy Flight Games.

This week, the Skyhoppers set out to discuss Star Wars tabletop games in honor of Gencon, but of course spend a lot of time discussing the Episode IX casting announcment instead. Also, as you listen to this (if you're listening on August 3rd, anyway), we're at Gencon! Get at us on Twitter and come say hi if you're here!

Asajj Ventress has had a rough life. This is no secret. However, this doesn't stop her from being one of the most interesting characters to come out of the Prequel era. When things seem to break against her, she just comes out stronger and more resilient than ever! She isn't quite as #gray as people like to make her out to be, either. I mean. She is a little bit. The Jedi Order as it existed during the Prequel Era isn't exactly a stranger to being discussed by us here at The Skyhoppers Podcast, but sometimes we give it a bad rap (despite trying our best to hammer home the fact that they AREN'T the bad guys). This week, Ben and Ash talk about all of the great stuff about them! They made some mistakes, but they were still Jedi, after all.

It's finally here, folks! The Skyhoppers have finally made it to episode 100! Can you believe it? Because they can't. Over the last 100 episodes, both Ben and Ash (and sometimes others!) have said some incredibly ridiculous things, and this week they're going to dredge those things up and laugh about them all over again. But don't worry, it's not just a clip show. If you're a recent Skyhoppers convert, this is gonna be a great episode to get caught up on a lot of the stupid stuff that's happened since the beginning of the show.
We also want to say thank you to literally everybody that's supported the show in any way since we've started. Thanks for tweeting at us, getting in on our inside jokes, generally helping to create to the best corner of Star Wars fandom out there, and most importantly: thank you for LISTENING!
Here's to 100 more, eh?
(Fun fact: the sound effect in between us talking and the clip chunks comes from the Tales of the Jedi audio drama!)
This episode is a little weird. Since Ben and Ash are talking about Rey this week, they're doing their character episode with less complete information than they would normally have. It's a bit more speculative than the other character episodes, but there's good discussion of what we know to be fact all the same!

This week, Ben and Ash are joined by Omar (The Negotiator on YouTube; check out the link to his channel below!) to discuss a question that's been quietly popping up all over Star Wars fandom: should there be an R-rated Star Wars movie?

This is a bittersweet day, dear listeners. On the one hand, new Book Club episode! At Stars' End was really a great book, and if you haven't read it, you definitely should. On the other hand, this episode marks the end of an era: the Skyhoppers Book Club will no longer be a monthly thing. Don't worry, it isn't going away forever! It's just become a lot of work and we feel that our efforts are better served elsewhere. We podcast because it's fun and we love it. We don't want anything to jeopardize those feelings and make the quality of our show suffer.

SPOILERS FOR SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY
Well, listeners, the Skyhoppers have rather polarized opinions on Solo: A Star Wars Story, which generates some very interesting discussion! But it also means that this episode isn't purely filled with the positivity you've come to expect from the podcast. Regardless, it's still a very good episode (as usual).
This week, Ben and Ash do a deep dive on the seedy underbelly of the galaxy in honor of Solo! Black Sun, the Hutts, and... snakes?

Of course the week Ben says that his audio quality will be better is the week that he contributes a lot of nasty background hiss that he can't get out of the episode because he doesn't know how to use his equpiment. But all that aside, he and Ash are talking about deleted scenes this week! There's a lot of doozers in Star Wars, in case you were unaware. Or maybe they aren't in Star Wars? It depends on your point of view!

Listen up, Noodle Scooters! For April, we read Heir to the Jedi by Kevin Hearne! Better late than never, right?
There's a movie coming out in a few weeks (that was actually premiering as this episode was being recorded). It's gonna have this guy in it named Lando Calrissian. He's a pretty neat character. So we're gonna talk about him.

This episode seems like it might be coming out of nowhere, and that's probably because it is. Apropos of basically nothing, Ben and Ash are talking about redemption this week! Ash gets to talk about Iden and Del and Ben gets to talk about Ulic Qel-Droma.

What is it about Star Wars that makes us want to accumulate products that pertain to Star Wars? Well, that's a pretty loaded question. Ben and Ash get into it when they talk about collecting this week! They both have reasonable Star Wars collections, so be prepared to listen to them gush about their personal possessions for at least part of this episode.

Canon is important. We here at the Skyhoppers podcast are aware of this. However, sometimes it just gets in the way and generally causes problems, so that's what Ben and Ash are talking about this week. Additionally, they discuss the current state of Star Wars canon and what they want to see in the future. Classic Skyhoppers discussion this week!

We here at the Skyhoppers Podcast love Star Wars. That much is certain. But sometimes being involved in the fandom gets to be a lot to handle, especially in recent years. That isn't to say that the Star Wars community is all bad, of course! But Ben and Ash wanted to talk through some feelings on the matter, as people need to do from time to time.

This week, Ben and Ash are joined by friend of the show Jason from Holy Star Wars and NEW friend of the show Lynn from Sapphic Skywalkers! WOWEE! These were some huge episodes of Rebels, were they not? There's a whole heckuva lot to unpack here, and Ben and Ash take their best stabs at it this week. It's definitely going to be hard to say goodbye to this show, but at least it's going out with a bang. What does Ezra plan to do in the finale to enact Kanan's "one last lesson"? What does the big reveal from "A World Between Worlds" mean for stories in the future?

And so begins the beginning of the end for Rebels. It's certainly a bittersweet thing, but we can be thankful that the team working on the show has the opportunity to end the show properly and give the Ghost crew the sendoff they deserve, whatever that might mean. This is definitely the Skyhoppers take on a Valentine's Day-themed episode, but Ben and Ash look at different aspects of love as it appears in Star Wars than you might expect. Somehow Luke and Vader get skipped over even though they're part of the reason Ben wanted to do the episode, but WHATEVER.

We're back to our regularly scheduled programming! This week, Alex joins Ben and Ash to talk about The Last Jedi as well as a lot of the response to the movie from different sects of fans. While this movie most likely isn't as divisive as the narrative surrounding the movie has made it out to be, it certainly has some points of contention. However, all three hosts fall firmly into the "OMG IT'S SO GREAT" camp and probably will until the end of time.

Well, Ben and Ash were going to talk about something that WASN'T Battlefront this week, but that clearly did not go as planned. In honor of the release of "From A Certain Point of View" last week, Ben and Ash revisit their second topic ever: minor characters! The discussion bounces back and forth between FOCPOV and general minor character talk, and of course there's a lot of Breha Organa.
The Skyhoppers are also launching a Patreon! The details are discussed before the show starts, and we REALLY hope you'll listen to that, but if you have literally zero interest, skip to about nine minutes in and enjoy your regularly-scheduled Skyhoppers!

On this edition of the Seinhoppers Podcast, George and Kramer spend roughly an hour discussing the Unknown Regions (including an actually feasible Snoke theory) and the role it's played in Star Wars over the years. Jerry and Elaine commiserate about the fact that their showers don't work, leading them to devise a plan to sneak into a local health club after it closes to shower there.

This episode is probably long overdue. As our close-out to Rebels Month, the Skyhoppers are talking about everyone's favorite Togruta: Ahsoka Tano! This is also the first character episode that isn't about a movie character, and we're not sure if there is a character more deserving of that honor.

This week, the Skyhoppers continue with the theme of Rebels month and discuss the impact of the two major animated series in the current Star Wars canon, The Clone Wars and Rebels. Ben talks about Onderon and Ash talks about Ahsoka. Pretty standard Skyhoppers fare, really!

So. Uh. Ben and Ash had a topic for Rebels month this week, but then they started talking about comics. And that went on for a while. Then they started talking about JJ Abrams coming back for Episode IX. And that went on for a while. So they ran out of time. But that's okay! This is episode is classic Skyhoppers: two best friends talking about the stuff in Star Wars that gets them excited.

This week, Ben and Ash are joined by Ash's sister Maggie! You may remember her from the episode where we did a commentary for the Holiday Special (if you deigned to even listen to it). Ostensibly, this episode is about looking back at the first two seasons of Rebels, but the hosts spend a lot of time discussing the big news with Colin Trevorrow, as well as the Rebels Season 4 trailer. This is just a fun episode done in the classic Skyhoppers style!

This week, our hosts go back to their roots and ramble about a seemingly random aspect of the Star Wars universe. This week, it's aliens! Star Wars isn't Star Wars without the aliens, so it's about time that they get their due episode. Well, the first part of their series of episodes.

SPOILER WARNING There is discussion about the EW Star Wars article from about the 3:00 mark to the 21:30 mark. Just in case that's a bit too spoilery for you.
This week, Ben and Ash talk about one of the more quietly appreciated heroes of the Star Wars universe: Padme Amidala. She's often unfairly compared to Leia, when in reality, both characters fill the same role but in a different way, if that makes sense. Our hosts think it's an important distinction to make. Also, her death was total BS. I think we can all agree that she deserved so much better.

Sometimes you just can't come up with a witty Star Wars-related episode title. So sue us. But in all seriousness, this episode is a fun-filled adventure where Ben and Ash jump back and forth between the PT and the OT to see how they stack up to one another in various ways! This week, Ben and Ash take a close look at everyone's favorite subject: politics. NO WAIT! COME BACK! They're talking about politics in Star Wars, not the real world. The discussion focuses specifically on the political climate of the Prequel Era, since July is Prequel Month, after all.

Continuing with our July theme of Prequel Month, Ben and Ash are talking about Clones this week! They also touch pretty heavily on everyone's favorite Mandalorians: Jango and Boba Fett. Well, they're OUR favorite Mandalorians anyway.
This week, the Skyhoppers trio tackles everyone's favorite liar: Obi-Wan Kenobi. Whether or not he's actually a liar is up for debate, but he definitely looks at things from a certain point of view. He's one of the most complex characters in Star Wars, and it's about damn time he got the attention that he's due.

Welcome to another episode of The Skyhoppers Podcast, dear listeners. The fiftieth episode, no less! What an accomplishment! To celebrate that, as well as the kickoff of Prequel Month, we're talking about one of the most interesting Jedi around: Qui-Gon Jinn. Who IS Qui-Gon? Well, we might not have the answers, but we certainly have a lot of thoughts and feelings about our hippie-dippie Jedi friend!

Listeners, as you're probably aware of by now, the Star Wars canon split a few years ago into the new Expanded Universe, and what's called "Legends," or the old EU. This episode basically tries to answer the question "how is Lucasfilm doing?" concerning non-movie Star Wars materials. Legends holds a lot of importance for a lot of people (Skyhoppers included), and there was some resistance to seeing it go, even though it was probably a good idea for the story's sake. Has the new timeline been up to snuff? Listen to get Ben and Ash's take!

Welcome listeners! Get ready to settle in and PICK A SIDE for this episode, because Ben and Ash move to explain their feelings on something that's been rather contentious on this podcast: the concept of "gray Jedi." You might be afraid that this episode is just an hour of vitriolic yelling, but our hosts did their best to make sure that didn't happen. It only makes sense that some emotion would leak into the discussion, but the idea is to keep it as academic as possible.
If you think we're being total idiots, make sure to let us know! This is a topic that's open to debate, and we'd like to hear the other side of the argument.
This is a really good post that explains the problem with the "Gray Jedi" philosophy better than this episode ever could: https://thesnarksideoftheforce.wordpress.com/2016/07/18/50-shades-of-grey-jedi/

The Skyhoppers do lots of planet-hopping this week! Lots of discussion surrounding our hosts' favorite planets, where they'd like to live, and the nature of that Imperial accent. There's also some talk of news/rumors/falling skies concerning the sequel trilogy at the beginning. A very fun episode indeed!

Welcome, literally literate listeners! Your loquacious (okay, no more alliteration) hosts discuss Tatooine Ghost by Troy Denning on this, the very first episode of the Skyhoppers Book Club! If you're unfamiliar with this new series, basically Ben and Ash (and sometimes a guest) take a Star Wars book, give themselves a month to read it, and then have a discussion! The best part is, the book is announced at the beginning of each month, meaning YOU have the opportunity to follow along with us and let us know what you're thinking via the internet! Isn't the transfer of electrons great? We think it's a cool idea, and we think you will too.

Star Wars is the greatest thing in the whole entire universe and we all know it. It's also been around for 40 years as of today! How exciting!!!!! <3 Here at the Skyhoppers, we dedicated this entire episode to talking about how much we love it and what it means to us. Ben and Ash aren't the most articulate podcasters on this particular episode, but are they ever? Lots of feelings ahead!

This week, the Skyhoppers converge to discuss the good guys in the Star Wars universe: the Rebel Alliance! Without them, there would be at LEAST two Death Stars, Vader and ol' Sheev Palpatine would still be alive, and we probably wouldn't even know who Han Solo is (which would just be criminal). The Rebellion is important and deserves our undivided attention for this episode, at the very least.

We've teased it long enough, so it's probably time to actually follow through on doing a Knights of the Old Republic episode, right? The first and second games are different enough to warrant individual episodes, so this one will focus on KotOR 1. That means we get to talk about Carth Onasi (so strong and silent), Bastila Shan, and how there are no Gray Jedi in the game. Sounds great, right???

This week, we step into a new era for the Skyhoppers podcast! This episode marks the first in our new series: The Skyhoppers Book Club! At the beginning of each month, we'll announce what book we'll be reading so that all of you beautiful listeners can follow along, and at the end of the month, we'll release an episode specifically about that book! That way we get to talk about books without alienating the listeners that don't/can't keep up with them for whatever reason. This is a good arrangement for us all. Plus, more Skyhoppers goodness. Who doesn't want that?
The book we're reading for May's Skyhoppers Book Club is "Tatooine Ghost" by Troy Denning!

One of the biggest things to come out of Celebration this year is The Last Jedi trailer, and it was amazing. So can anyone explain why our hosts spend some time discussing cereal and the correct pronunciation of "Reese's Pieces?" Thankfully, these tangents are very brief, and there's lots of theories and speculation ahead. It's a good trailer, Brent.

This release is SUPER special because it comes to you from the halls of Star Wars Celebration Orlando!!! Hello, listeners! The Skyhoppers are recording on the Saturday before the week of Celebration because Ash is going to be in Orlando on their normal recording day of Wednesday, and Ben will be joining her and the rest of the Commonwealth on Thursday! This week, the discussion is all about the many facets of the Sith. It gets a little derailed when the "Revan" novel comes up because both hosts have some issues with that book (you can probably guess what they are), but the detours in conversation are what make the Skyhoppers Podcast fun! At least we think so.

It's about time for a Vader episode, right? We certainly think so. Believe it or not, our hosts somehow spend less than ten minutes discussing that scene in Rogue One (you know the one), and Ben keeps asserting that Darth Vader doesn't exist for some reason(?), even though that isn't what he means. Our naming convention for these Rebels episodes is the only thing keeping this one from being called "Choppper" (the three P's are intentional). Anyway, on this edition of our biweekly Rebels episode, "Double Agent Droid" kinda gets the short end of the stick. It was a fine episode in its own right, but the reason our hosts are all hyped up this week is for "Twin Suns." It's probably the reason you're listening to this episode as well. This take on the Kenobi/Maul meetup is not to be missed!

We're finally back to our regularly-scheduled Rebels episodes! At least for the time being, as the season is going to end soon :( But it ain't over yet! And this is one of the rare episodes of the podcast where we have two truly great Rebels episodes to discuss, so you won't wanna miss it! Ben even finds ways to be more annoying and obtrusive than usual!

We've only got one episode of Rebels to talk about this week, but wooWEE is it a doozy. Of course, we would never spoil anything in the show description, but there is a LOT to talk about. Major twists! Action! Mandalorian culture! That launches our fearless co-hosts into a discussion about everyone's favorite honorable warrior civilization (and maybe a couple of bounty hunters as well).

This week, we're joined yet again by Alexandra to discuss our favorite Corellian! And believe it or not, no one mentions odds even once. Our hosts tackle the hard hitting questions like: is The Empire Strikes Back an allegory to any number of Biblical stories? What are the prevailing thoughts on the upcoming Han Solo stand-alone? What are the most important differences in how he's been portrayed in the two canon timelines? All of this, and as always, MORE!

This week, Alexandra joins our intrepid hosts (she's becoming quite the fixture, is she not?) and the three of them discuss romance in the Star Wars universe. All your favorite pairings come up, I'm sure! Unless you're into like, Han x Jabba or something. Not that anyone is, right? If you're into romantic Han and Jabba fanfic, send your favorite story to @ErsatzAsh on Twitter.
Also, Baze and Chirrut are TOTALLY a thing.

Two wonderful episodes of Rebels AND some actual news from the world of Star Wars? There's lots to be discussed on this episode of the Skyhoppers Podcast, my friends. Honestly, we could've done a normal-length episode on "Trials of the Darksaber" alone, but then the head honchos over at Lucasfilm decide to drop the title for Episode VIII on us: The Last Jedi! That title has Ben very nervous for a number of reasons. Those reasons and more this week!

Alexandra is back! She's back mostly so her and Ben get to gush about everybody's favorite farm boy: LUKE SKYWALKER. But Ash joins in too! Our hosts get a bit sidetracked on Vader at one point, but the Skywalkers really are a family of disasters, so it makes sense to discuss them all at once.

The Star Wars family has lost a very important member recently. Carrie Fisher was an amazing person that meant so much to so many people, and we here at the Skyhoppers Podcast had a lot that we needed to talk about. This episode gets kind of heavy at times, but we hope we shared enough funny stories and memories of Carrie that it feels more like a celebration of her life than a eulogy, if that makes sense. We do lots of rambling, but this is a rough time, and I'd like you see you do better, smarty-pants.
On a happier note, we want to thank every one of YOU, listeners! Having your support has made this so much more than just two nerds talking about Star Wars on Skype for two hours every week. We've got some big plans for 2017! It's gonna be the year of the Skyhopper, folks. You'll want to stick around. We love you.

ROGUE ONE SPOILERS
Back to our regularly scheduled programming! This week, Ben and Ash talk about the mid-season finale of Rebels, "Visions and Voices," as well as give some thoughts on Maul and Kenobi theories (Maul is Snoke?) And, as you might have expected because you're not an idiot, they talk more about Rogue One as well. Because it's like... impossible not to.

Well, listeners... it's finally here. This is our commentary on that legendary lost piece of Star Wars history... the Holiday Special. And let it be known that it truly is a piece of garbage. George Lucas has every reason to wish that it didn't exist. Getting through it was a SLOG. But in all seriousness, we brought on two guests, Ben's friend Asher and Ash's sister Maggie, and having them on the show for this very special occasion was wonderful, and we can't thank them enough. Many laughs were had while recording, and hopefully many laughs will by had by you while listening and watching along, listeners. Plus, that animated short with Boba Fett wasn't too bad, even if the faces of some of the characters were mildly terrifying. Enjoy, friends.
(For some reason, the end got cut off? But we certainly weren't about to watch the whole thing again.)

In honor of Jyn Erso and Cassian Andor possibly being the new EU's analog for Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors (that's definitely who they are, let's be real), the Skyhoppers spend this week talking about everyone's favorite Rebel agents, the aforementioned Kyle and Jan! There's the hope that this isn't just an episode about the Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series, but seeing as how that series makes of the majority of their appearances, that hope might be misguided.

It's finally here, listeners. Our hosts weren't able to contain the weirdness that is Dark Empire any longer. The idea of Palpatine coming back as a clone is dumb, right? Or is it? Is the name "World Devastator" badass or not? Why did Han Solo suddenly lose ten years of character development? Ben and Ash discuss all of this and MORE.

Welcome back, listeners! This week, Ben and Ash THEORIZE. Most of the discussion centers around Episode VII and what we might see in Episode VIII, but they branch out into Rogue One territory as well. Some of the theories are a bit outlandish, but hey, that's what this episode is for.

It's happened to all of us. You get into a potentially scintillating conversation with a Star Wars fan you just met. Things are going well and you think you might have made a new friend! And then they say something to the effect of "the prequels are terrible and anyone who likes them is stupid and dumb" (obviously I'm paraphrasing). If you're a fan of the prequels, that feels bad, and we here at Skyhoppers feel that people shouldn't be made to feel bad for the things they love about Star Wars. We're all a big family, right? Why are some of us so mean to others? Ash and Ben touch on that a bit, as well as the subject of gatekeeping in the Star Wars fandom, and then share many things that they love about the prequels because Star Wars should be about focusing on what you love, not what you hate.
Also, our hosts hate on Reddit a lot, but they don't actually hate Reddit. Reddit has a lot of cool stuff. However, there also happens to be a lot of negativity surrounding Star Wars that stems from there, so it tends to act as the placeholder for negativity about Star Wars on the internet. We apologize if you love Reddit. It really isn't that bad.

Greetings, listeners! This week, our wonderful hosts do their best to discuss a topic that could probably have multiple shows covering it: the Jedi Order, in all its eras, shapes, and forms. The discussion is (surprisingly) coherent, with Ash and Ben talking about the Jedi in the Old Republic, in the Clone Wars (Ash gets heated), and then touches on the New Jedi Order a little bit. The audio is a bit wonky at times (Ben will finally be wearing headphones next week) and Ben has a little trouble coming to terms with the fact that this isn't the "Tales of the Jedi" episode, but overall, there's lots of good discussion!

Welcome to another episode of the Skyhoppers Podcast! This week, our intrepid hosts discuss the bantha in the room: the season three premier of Rebels! Hello, listeners! The Skyhoppers are back for another week's worth of Star Wars-related rambling. This week, Ben and Ash finally jump into a discussion they've been teasing since the show started: PILOTS. It's about time our favorite flyboys ("flypeople" feels more correct) got the attention they deserve. How much will Wedge factor into Rebels? Will his character and backstory be at all similar to what he's like in Legends? Who are the other pilots that are defecting with him in the trailer (Tycho Celchu?????)? Ben gets mad that he didn't get to talk about Corran Horn and they talk about exactly how nutso of a pilot Poe Dameron is. Everything you could want from an episode about pilots!

Hallo und guten Tag, Listeners! This week, the Skyhoppers cover an area of the Star Wars universe that hasn't gotten too much love as of late: video games. Some favorites include the Rogue Squadron and Dark Forces/Jedi Knight series, and of course, Knights of the Old Republic. The last of those three deserves two or three episodes on its own, so Ben and Ash try to keep that discussion (relatively) brief in order to keep it from taking over the episode. Other topics include Ben's frustration with trying to get gold medals in Rogue Squadron and a little of what our hosts want to see from future games. Lots of pew pew and lightsaber whoosh this week!

Welcome, honored listeners! This week, Ben and Ash talk about one of everyone's favorite topics: bounty hunters. And they even manage to stay on topic at least 95% of the time while doing so! They talk about Asajj Ventress's potential that was wasted for her, Dengar's lack of a personality/interesting attributes of any kind, everyone's favorite father-son bounty hunting duo, and a theory that might be insane. You'll have to decide that last part for yourself.

Hidey ho, valued listeners! This week, Ash and Ben tackle a few bits of news (leading to a small discussion about Snoke theories. It was only a matter of time.) and then launch into the main topic, in which they discuss (some) of their favorite minor characters in the Star Wars universe. At some point near the end, Ash mentions Borsk Fey'lya and things start to devolve into a tirade against the Bothans, but thankfully Ben is able to stop himself before he says anything too offensive.

Hello, listeners! Welcome to the first episode of The Skyhoppers Podcast! On our inaugural episode this week, we introduce ourselves and explain how we got into Star Wars, and then dive into our mini-topic (that turned into more of a regular topic), which is the place of droids in the Star Wars universe. Are they autonomous? Do they have feelings? These are the big questions we try and tackle in this episode, all while talking MUCH too fast. Also, Ben and Ash's favorite droids may surprise you.
