Adam is back on the show and we give you the play by play of our Disney trip! It's another long episode, but we tried to give some tips for all of the other non-disney families considering taking their first trip.
We had a wonderful time and talk about our highlights from each park, Animal Kingdom, Magic Kingdom, Hollywood Studios & Epcot, while visiting with our 6 and 3 year olds. We also talk about what we liked and didn't like about our resort, how we navigated transportation with a double stroller, and which parks we wished we had more time to explore.
Shoutout to Danielle Williams who helped Leah plan the basic agenda, sign up for Fast Passes, and make dining reservations. Her help and guidance truly made the difference in us enjoying our time. (not sponsored)
If you want Danielle to help you plan your Disney vacation you can find her ON FACEBOOK or email her directly: d.williams@keytotheworldtravel.com
Due to holiday travel, no show for 12/2 but we will resume the following week one more time before taking time off for Christmas.
Finally, Adam (my hubby) is here on the show! We are here for a sit down to jam on our marriage, our strengths, parenting in light of our favorite tool for personal growth, the Enneagram. Adam is a 5, The Investigator/Observer and Leah is a 3, The Achiever. We think a 5 and a 3 is a powerful combination and we are here to talk about it!

Recently I attended a business conference for women and we were prompted to write a letter of encouragement for someone in the room. My stream of consciousness encouragement immediately turned to not quitting even when in the messy middle.
I think a lot of us feel like we are in the middle of things and feel ready to throw in the towel. This is your pep talk to keep. going. don't. quit.
Imagine it's just you and me having a pep talk on the phone. "Don't Quit" By John Greenleaf Whittier When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is strange with its twists and turns
As every one of us sometimes learns
And many a failure comes about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow—
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out—
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell just how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit—
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

On top of being a young female food entrepreneur in a small southern town, Nicole has a well rounded approach to health, wellness, and how to tune in to what your individual body needs. This episode is a LONG TIME COMING! I’m calling it Part 3 to MY STORY and if you missed part 1 & 2 check out episodes 19 and 20 from exactly a year ago when I took the time to outline a bit about my past. This conversation is almost sacred to me because I treasure my relationship with my brother and my sister so much. I almost wondered if I should share it here but I think there is value here. I hope for the many of you who have reached out and shared about your own estrangement or isolation from you family that you are encouraged to do the personal work and be open to restoration. And I also hope to inspire you over the next couple months especially with the holidays coming around, that you take time to ask hard and deep questions to your brothers and sisters and take time to process and visit old and wonderful memories. You share a bond that withstands time and space. Here is the conversation I had with my sister, Sarah and my brother Jared!

RAW MILK! Part 2
Got milk? Raw milk that is! Let’s finish up with part 2 of last week's episode. We are picking up right where we left off, Dwayne is going to share about Goshen's Creamery and how it is truly the best compromise for those not able to take part in a herd share or no longer wanting to buy convention dairy. There are lots of angles to this conversation and it is not cut and dry. As consumers we can use our dollars to decide where we want the food industry to go. Your spending habits are powerful. I hope you feel inspired to seek out the farmers in your area and find the ones using innovative and responsible methods!

Welcome to Season 2! It feels great to be back with the show. In today’s episode I hope to leave you with a couple really useful nuggets how I tackle each challenge that comes my way. Many of my tips here I use daily.
Is it just me or does it feel like life is made up of one hard thing after the other? And that’s just the day by day, not to mention if we actually have ambition to live at a higher level of wellness, goals, or healthy relationships! I personally believe doing hard things is like a muscle that can be trained and honed and with 3 simple ingredients ( tools, skillset, mindset ) you can take on any challenge with EASE.
The second half of the show I give a little life update and share some things I have been working on. Season 2 greets us with a podcast facelift, new music, new guests, and more! Homebirth! It can be polarizing "Who would actually give birth at home?" "Isn't it dangerous?" "I could never do it all natural!" I used to think all of these thoughts too and then it was me working with a midwife, laboring at home, and pushing my baby out on my bed! I promise it's not as wild as it sounds and to take away some of the stigma here is my tale of when Peter joined our family.

Quick, when I say the word "hormonal" what comes to your mind? Probably a mood swing and PMS....am I right? Well hormones are so much more than your period and actually can play a big role in the overall health of your body. Today I'm talking to Natropath Dr. Patti Haebe, a women's hormone expert and we take a 30,000 ft view over how hormones work in the body and a few of the big hitters - Estrogen, Progesterone, Cortisol and more. We even get in to detoxification and talk about the liver and (gasp!) poo. What!?

How do you respond to things - proactively or reactively? To be honest, as much as i want to think of myself as a proactive person, I have a ways to go but half the battle is knowing what reactive even means! I hope this breakdown on the way we respond, act, communicate and the types of things we focus on our energy on helps you get closer to your zone of genius. This episode came out of nowhere for me and yet, it could possibly be my favorite one yet. I hope we pull back the curtain on the essential oil industry and help you be a more CONSCIOUS CONSUMER in the area of essential oils and natural products claiming to use them. Pay close attention to how our guest, doTERRA strategic sourcing manager, Jared Moon, defines "Pure & Natural" and what those important terms actually mean. Hopefully this will shed light on the process, the heart, and the reason to be VERY picky when it comes to the oils we purchase. Enjoy!

A significant portion of who I am and what I am made of comes from my experience as a pianist, accompanist, and overall, musician. Today's episode is a nugget on intention of our attention and mindfulness in each moment. This lesson came to me really powerfully with my time producing and performing The Wizard of Oz and I am grateful.
Enneagram students, I briefly cover the stances (withdrawing, aggressive, compliant) and the orientation to time each of the types. For a beautiful and important explanation further, be sure to check out The Enneagram Journey, Episode 50 with Suzann Stabile for a longer discussion.

Have you ever heard the term Imposter Syndrome? If not, most likely you have felt it but didn't know the name. It means to internally feel like a fraud and that you will be found out and something a lot of self-employed women feel. Have you ever described yourself as an "introverted extrovert" or vice versa? Then you just may be an AMBIVERT!
Breakthrough Coach for women, Tara Wagner unpacks these ideas and several others in today's episode. Be sure to check out her youtube channel for more incredible resources and tools!

Do you have a New Year's resolution, goals, a "Word for the year", or even just a guiding phrase? Then this is the episode for you. Did you know the brain is wired to answer questions and using the power of a well crafted question can help you create more of what you want in your life.
Instead of saying "I need to lose weight" how about asking the question, "How can I lose weight, be happy, and still enjoy the foods that I like?"
or instead of a word of the year being Intention ask: "What am I always in the right place at the right time, being the right person and doing the right things?"
This is a very interesting and innovative way to change up your affirmations and goal setting practices.
Leah also spills the beans on how her year of fun and adventure is off to a great start with a FUN ANNOUNCEMENT.
I hope you enjoy this episode and share it with a friend who wants to make 2019 an amazing year too!

Have you ever heard of "gaslighting"? It can be a bit of a buzzword but what does it actually mean? It's actually a fairly common, albeit harmful, form of manipulation and control. It causes someone to second-guess their own experiences, opinions, memories and instincts. People who have experienced gaslighting feel like they are constantly walking on eggshells, apologizing for themselves, have a difficult making basic decisions, and a lot more. In this episode, Leah unpacks what it is, examples of what this looks like and how to be more aware of when this could be happening to you!

When was the last time you actually took the time to celebrate a win in your life? Often I find for myself, I work really hard at something and then gloss over it once I accomplish the task looking to the next item on my list of goals without taking a minute to soak it all in. Or maybe if you're also like me, celebrating in the past has been often overshadow by negative voices drowning out the happy times. Well, it's time to turn that ship around and start to infuse some celebration in your journey.
After all, celebration is simply a side effect of gratitude and we all have a lot to be grateful for.

This is part 2 of my story, specifically the events leading up to reaching out to my family after 20 years of no contact and the beautiful moment when I met my sister for the 2nd, first-time. It all started when I received a letter from my dad through a third party that was kept from for 10 long years. The past was catching up and I couldn't ignore it any more.
What kind of unfinished business do you have in your life? This is a very individual question. What if you could get the ball rolling and start taking the needed steps to work towards completing it? Sometimes we have to do our best and leave the rest up to God and the other people!

Our story carries a lot of power, for some it holds them in a box and others it’s their platform and today it’s time to start telling mine. I hope it is a starting point for real conversation about emotional health and wellness, two things I am very passionate about. I’m grateful for the tremendous support of the friends and family in my inner circle who give me the courage and the push to “put myself out there” and find my voice after a life of complex abuse. My goal is for you to be inspired to dig in to your own story and to learn to listen well to others so we can break harmful patterns and emerge on the other side!

Today I’ve got something a little different for you. I hope it feels like you have a chair pulled up to lean in to this conversation. This episode is with my friend Betsy Balkcom. Betsy is one of the most interesting people I know - she is engaging, refreshingly honest, super easy to talk to, a total wordsmith, and is able to express the sorts of things most are thinking but can never quite communicate. She is a lover of all things natural and simple, has a killer design aesthetic, and just recently became the proud owner of a sailboat.
We dive in to what it's like to release the need to judge and let go of correcting people, how to define and work the happy muscle for a more grateful and enjoyable life, and what its like to do the hard, deep work and still live with a sense of wonder. And that’s what this podcast is about. There are some real nuggets in here. Whether you find yourself in a season of loneliness with your circle of friends, or you perhaps feel stuck on a hamster wheel of routine, you are in the company of friends here.

What if life and all our responsibilities felt like a beautiful song with harmony instead of a balancing act on a unicycle? In today's episode, I question the notion of “work/life balance” and offer an alternative mindset, a life of harmony. What if all the moving pieces of your life were part of an interwoven, moving, breathing flow rather than an image-focused ideal of “having it all in balance” with room to breathe, room to adapt, room to adjust? Jam with me on this idea for a few minutes and enjoy a new way of comparing and contrasting this idea with some musical excerpts. Topics also include a shift in mindset about dreaming, a pop song, pink shoes, and rolling my face with a jade stone. This is Episode 17!

This week's guest is none other than Megan Knorpp, co-creator of the popular YouTube channel Knorpp and South. Megan and her husband Mike took on the adventure of a lifetime with their nine children when they sold their possessions, moved their family into an RV, and hit the road across America and later Europe. Megan and I talk about their travel, what it means to live outside of the box, go after your dreams (even as a parent), and how women need to show support to each other wholeheartedly. I know you will love listening to this episode as much as I enjoyed recording it so be sure to SHARE it with a friend who needs a little encouragement to "get out there."

You asked and I answered!
It seems like every other person that we know is selling something: from affiliate marketing, sponsored ads on Instagram, online courses, influencer marketing, and more. Entrepreneurship is a beautiful thing but it can also be intimidating. A MLM business can be an incredible way to earn passive, residual income but finding a company and products that are the right fit for you is critical to your success and fulfillment. There are many things to consider when making this kind of choice and in this episode I review ten questions to address just that.

"Self-care is what speaks joy to you."
Carrie's world hit rock bottom when her health unexpectedly took a turn for the worst, she couldn't even eat! Her body was keeping score and holding on to past trauma and anxiety and it took radical deep work to get back on track. Now she is a successful life and health coach and is one of the most adventurous people you will meet. This one is a doozy, as Carrie and I jam on self-care, blazing a new trail, how the body holds on to emotions, and how we both personally hear from God and more!

In part three of the series (why stop now?!), we talk about supporting your physical, emotional, and spiritual health using the Enneagram and essential oils. We briefly look at each type and offer some suggestions as to which essential oils to use and what qualities to look for when supporting your natural strengths, motivations, and stresses. We also talk about supporting the three intelligence centers (head, heart, "gut") with emotional aromatherapy oils. And I share some music I'm digging and a couple of Insta-related apps that make me feel like a photography wiz!

Personality tests are all the rage in personal development and they often fall into and out of vogue. But the Enneagram has been shown time and again to be super insightful and helpful for people in understanding who they are and what makes them tick. The Enneagram has been making waves in the past few years and for good reason. It has helped me to understand what motivates me, an Enneagram Type 3, and how I help and hurt myself day-to-day. In this series, part 1, I review with you all of the Enneagram types and give you some unique insights into my own strengths and weaknesses. I’m confident that you will come away enriched and excited to learn more. And next week, in part 2, we will be talking to a real life Enneagram coach!

Today’s interview features my best friend, Spring Esteppe. Spring has many gifts and on today’s podcast I wanted to chat with her about creating community. Over the years I have known her, I have observed Spring consistently open her home and even more so her heart in community. In this age of technology and social media (which is awesome, IMO) it’s important that we still be intentional in our every day lives and invite people to be a part of our story. This is a vital message when considering the quality of your queendom, we were meant for relationship with people! We also play a silly game, one of many to come in the future.

Welcome to The Small Queendom Podcast! This is our FIRST EPISODE! This week, we are talking a little bit about what it’s like to travel through life with baggage! If you’re like me, you’re a recovering chronic over-packer when heading out on trips. What if I forget something? Did I pack enough outfits?! I think I need another 2 pairs of jeans! Sometimes, we can travel through life without realizing that we’re carrying around a ton of extra emotional baggage that we don’t need and, frankly, don’t even want! For me it’s a voice of fear and criticism. I share some of my thoughts on shedding that unwanted baggage and leaving it behind us where it belongs.
On that theme, I also share something I’ve recently come to love; packing cubes! I tell you all about how they’ve helped me handle packing and which I’m loving right now. We also talk about my love for essential oils and I share a blend that is SURE to help you get through life with less junk holding you down and maybe even start something new.
I had a blast making this episode for you and I hope you enjoy listening to it just as much!
