In life, we get trained in various institutions to be professional in a particular field. For me personally, that's the field of Nursing. You see, in all my years of being a Nurse, theres one thing I have come to learn. And that is the fact that it is one thing to be a student or trainee (disciple), and it is a totally different thing to be a graduate of your training. As a trainee, you have your trainer right by your side always correcting you when you make a mistake or about to make one, you have someone to tell you where and when to do what. But as a graduate of your training, the story is different. You are no more in training. You are expected to be able to handle yourself with as little mistakes as possible. To overcome whatever challenges you may face on your own. This without a doubt can be really frightening!! In this verse of today, Jesus knowing that as He would be leaving his disciples to return to the father, the disciples will definitely be scared, anxious, worried and troubled because they'll no longer have thier master(trainer) to keep directing them. He assures them he wouldn't leave them to have to figure things out on thier own as he'll be sending them another teacher. That's so much better than our reality of life isn't it? To always have someone guiding you and telling you what to and not to do, especially since it's all about dealing with spiritual things that our human minds can never truly comprehend. Like he did the disciples, Jesus is assuring us today, He is and has even sent us the Holy spirit! The teacher! To guide us as we continue in this journey of Life. He assures us to not be worried or anxious or scared but to recieve the Peace which He gives. The peace that comes from knowing that we have the master of all #Knowledge and #wisdom #guiding our ever step rather than our very fallible #intellect. Today, let us turn to the Lord to recieve the peace which he gives. This peace much unlike that which the world gives.

Seek The Lord! Life I full of ups and downs, moments of Joy's and sorrows, of laughter and crying, of Celebrations and disappointments, of strength and weakness. In life, we are often faced with moments of difficulties. Times when we living feels so difficult that we feel like the weight of the entire world is on our shoulders. We feel weighed down by the weight of our responsibilities, commitments, engagements, goals and aspirations. Today, the scripture tells us to "Seek the Lord and His Strength!" Seek the Lord because it is from him that true strength comes. Remember his word in Matt 11:28, Christ invites us to come to him especially when we are over weighed by our responsibilities and commitments and he promises us rest. It is only the Lord that can give us the true strength we need for this journey of ours.

Today, as we go on into the week, let us seek the Lord and his face always bearing in mind that in his presence there is fullness of Joy! And this Joy is our Strength!!!

Again and again and again and again and again and well.... again in scripture, we as the people of God are called different names. God's chosen people, God's Holy people, a chosen race, the righteousness of God, the children of God, new creatures etc etc. But one I see as most "SACRED" is the one we're called today, "The Temple Of God"!

We are the very dwelling place of the powerful "deity" to ever exist. While other deities have temples made of inanimate objects, our God has chosen to make us his own place of worship! You see, a temple is a place devoted to the worship of a deity.

As a Christian, a child of God, one saved by Grace through Faith in Christ Jesus do we realise that we're special to God?! Do we realise that we're the very dwelling place of the entire deity of God collectively and individually? Do we acknowledge that people should know to worship God when they see us because of the deity whom we carry? Or do we just go about living like every other person out there displaying characters unworthy of the MOST GLORIOUS GOD there is or ever will be?!

From today, let us live our lives knowing that we are the residence of the very deity and power of God! who has taken permanent residency in our lives!

AMEN!!! . . .

GRACE IS ALL I NEED

Grace is unmerited mercy (favor) that God gave to humanity by sending his Son, Jesus Christ, to die on a cross, thus securing man's eternal salvation from sin. So basically, GRACE IS UNMERITED FAVOR. Favour is an act of kindness beyond what is due or usual (Oxford dictionary).

Today's verse is a word of encouragement from God to not worry especially over the uncertainties of life and all the baggages that come with it. He tells us that His Grace, Unmerited Favor, Undue Advantage over others is sufficient for us. We don't need to go cutting corners, or trying to play unnecessary (ungodly) smarts in the name of not missing out on Opportunities. God wants us to know that "His power is made perfect in our weakness". Remember that all God does is for His Glory and for our Good? He'll always do things or make things happen that'll bring glory to his name. Personally I have seen too much of God's Grace at work in my life and even though I still tend to be worried and anxious over certain things sometimes, all Glory returns only to God! I have enjoyed quite a few privileges in life but I know all too well that without God I am just like every other person out there. It's been God who has always led me to places I never thought I'd go. It's Him who has always made people who are way above my league even think of supporting me. It is him who has always helped me achieve all the successes I have achieved in life. and that is why everytime I am asked I say, "GOD IS THE SECRET OF MY SUCCESS!!"

Today, it is my prayer that we all allow God's All Sufficient Grace to be manifested in our lives and in all we do. For without it, we're not but sore losers! AMEN!!!

When was the last time you actually took note of what comes out of your heart?! What did you observe actually comes out? Like it or not, your heart is always producing (pouring out) something. Physically, it's pouring out blood, your life force! Spiritually it's pouring out whatever you set it towards.

Let me explain. A jar can only pour out what it has not what is doesn't. in the same way, your heart can only pour out what it has and never what it doesn't have.

I'm today's verse, we're encouraged to guard our hearts, to protect it because it is from it that the springs of life is from. It is from our hearts that all that supports life flow from. It is from our hearts that the desire to support and sustain life comes from. It's no wonder we often say that a person who doesn't care about life say a murderer is "Heartless" because to care about life you must have a heart.

Be careful what you put into your heart. To put something into your heart is simply done by meditating on that thing. You put either positive things or negative things into your heart when you ponder over it. We are born with a heart that cares for life but this often gets currupted turning our springs of life into springs of death, fear, confusion, spite etc.

Let us learn today, to be careful and alert guarding our hearts and allowing only life giving elements into it so that as the scripture says, only "ISSUES, SPRINGS OF LIFE SHALL FLOW FROM IT!"

AMEN!🙏🤲

The Incomprehensible Light!

You see this verse today, it's one of my all time favourites (like there's any verse of the Bible that isn't¿ haha)

I got to understand this scripture a few years back when I was out on a walk. Actually, I was thinking of God's Love and how amazing it's always been on me. As I walked that faithful night on my 'evening stroll', I was deep in thought just thinking about how much God has shown me His Love. Just as I walked I suddenly realised that the place I was, had gotten so dark and without any lights. And almost immediately, the street lights came on and that's when I heard that still small voice of the Holy spirit explain that "the light is able to shine so brightly because it's has overcome the darkness. In actuality, a force can only overcome what it understands and is able to device a counter effect to overcome it. Darkness cannot is a lesser force and will always be so because it's can never fully comprehend nor understand talk more of overcoming the Light of God!

No Matter what darkness we may face, it's my prayer that we allow the "Incomprehensible Light Of God" shine through in Jesus Name: Amen!

The Lord is good, A strength and stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows [He recognizes, cares for, and understands fully] those who take refuge and trust in Him. Nahum 1:7 AMP ... .... ..... I don't know if you've watched any of these movies about the Medelevial times. The tiles of swords and shields, Knights and kingdoms. say like I'm the era of Camelot 😌?. Surely you must have seen those raised fenced walls that tower high above the ground, a "garrison" as they called it. In the series Merlin, Camelot was said to be the strongest stronghold in the kingdom.

Today's verse tells us that just as long Arthur cared for and understood the plight of his people when they were in trouble, so also and even better does our God understand and cares for our own plight. Things may not seem to go well now, nothing may seem to be going as planned, or the trouble we face may seem to want to overtake and overwhelm us, let us run to the Lord as the citizens of Camelot ran into the castle of Camelot, taking refuge in and trusting our God just as they trusted Thier king for He is "Good", "A strength" and "Stronghold" in the day of TROUBLE. He knows [He recognizes, cares for, and understands fully] those who take refuge and trust in Him.

Shalom!!!

Shame? What's That?!

I remember the story of St Francis of Assisi who upon his conversion to being Christian went to sell the clothes his father sells as a trader and gave the entire proceeds over to a worn down church used by lepers for it to be rebuilt. Furious at this, his father chained him to the wall only to be rescued by his mother from this fate and sent to the current bishop who was known to be a wise man. The bishop calls for a gathering of the citizens of the town to witness the apology of Francis to his father as he returns the proceeds to the sale back to him. This is where things took a different turn. After returning the proceeds to his father, Francesco (for this is his real name) turned to the people and striping himself totally naked right in the square, denounced his father and all entitlements that came from him including the clothes he'd bought him as a son. Francesco went on to claim God as His only Father, the Father of all Fathers. What a strange way of proclaiming ones Faith.

Like Francesco (St. FRANCIS), we are called to let go of all attachments to human names and privileges, human natures and attributes and cling on unto the Lord and the Lord alone not minding how much shame and disappointments it may seem to bring. Let us remember what scripture records in Zechariah 4:14, "it's not by power or might but by the Spirit of the Lord"

In anyways, Francesco went on to live as a pauper married to lady poverty, having the lepers and those rejected by society as his primary companions. He went on to become St. Francis of Assisi and those who choose to follow his new found way of life today are referred to as the 'Franciscan Friars'. His deeds and way of life are an inspiration to all even till today.

Let us learn to live like St Francis, not by striping naked in the public (that'll just be weird), but by doing what we know in our hearts to be right, what God calls us to do and to be! May the Grace of our God lead us to be more like Jesus, bold to live out the one True Gospel: Amen!

Hi there, this is my very first podcast haha. In this episode, I talk about why the Lord comforts us. As I studied the Youversion verse of the day, the text in 2 Corinth 1:3-4 speaks of why God Comforts us. I talk a little about my life here and what I take home from this verse.
