The next day, Sponaugle granted an injunction against Miller, forbidding the farmer from feeding his neighbors with his natural dairy products. News about the Presbyterian Church in America's -PCA- decision to appoint a commission to draft a petition calling on the U.S. government to reject the -practice of surgical and medical gender reassignment, especially of minors- has been spreading. A school district in eastern Pennsylvania approved the request from The Satanic Temple for the use of a room in the school for an after hours Satan Club. In 2020, Gabe Rench was arrested for refusing to wear a mask at an outdoor Psalm-singing event in Moscow, Idaho. Rench was acquitted in his criminal case shortly thereafter, and Rench sued the City of Moscow for their actions against him. The Lancaster County Commissioners recently voted to use over -4M in American Rescue Plan Act -ARPA- funds for -affordable housing- projects. The -350B in ARPA funds -supported by Democrats and Biden- distributed throughout the United States came after the -2.2T in CARES Act funds -supported by Democrats, Republicans, and Trump-. Instead of rejecting this money, Lancaster County accepted it and is now using it for, among other things, government-sponsored housing projects. However, long before the coronavirus, churches in America have steadily been minimizing fellowship centered around God's Word on the Lord's Day.
Part two in our look at God's avengers -i.e. civil rulers-. What is their role- And why do they exist-
The first part in a sermon series on the avengers. Of course, we are not speaking of Stan Lee's superheroes, but rather God's avengers. What they should have in common, however, is that they are both tasked with dealing with evil. The Bible describes the civil ruler as a servant of God, an avenger of God, who is tasked to punish evil -according to God's standard- and carry out God's wrath on the evildoer.
Starting in 1633, the tradition of the -Election Sermon- continued for over 200 years in America. At the heart of this practice was the view that God's Law-Word applies to all of life, including -perhaps especially- civil government. In one such sermon, preached in 1788, Dr. Samuel Langdon said, -Let not men openly irreligious and immoral become your legislators- for how can you expect good laws to be made by men who have no fear of God before their eyes, and who boldly trample on the authority of His commands-- In our day evangelicalism has failed to follow Langdon's advice. We have abandoned the biblical principles for voting. This Election Sermon focuses on the biblical guidelines for voting and the problems with substituting said guidelines with political pragmatism or prognostication.

William Bradford spent over a decade in Holland. These were the golden years of the Pilgrims, prior to coming to America. But there were also challenges to their new life in the Netherlands.
Finally arriving in Amsterdam, the Pilgrims were immediately confronted with several church controversies. One involved an unorthodox view of the Bible. The other involved sexual sin in the church. On top of this, Bradford and the other saints had to adjust to a new world where their farming skills were of little use.
William Bradford and the congregation in Scrooby soon found themselves persecuted for their commitment to the New Testament model of the church. With King James on the throne, their future looked bleak in England. And so, they sought another land wherein they could worship according to their consciences.
William Bradford's path to becoming a Separatist began with an invitation to hear Richard Clyfton preach. Soon Bradford would be introduced to two other men who would shape his life for years to come- John Robinson and William Brewster. The small church that formed in Scrooby, England, was the birthplace of the Pilgrims and the cradle of Massachusetts.
