This platform was created to be a safe haven just for YOU. Growing up I had wished I had access to other adoptees that looked like me, especially during my darkest hours. Being raised by (non-adopted) white adoptive parents can be challenging. Adoption is complex, and can even be problematic in itself. Trying to navigate your journey in a (racially) bias society that sees you as, "other" is no easy task, but youre not alone. So Welcome!

Thank you for joining Woke Adoptee. I'm glad you're here. As a transracial adoptee myself I wanted to create a safe platform for adoptee voices to be heard, with the adoptee kept front & center, as these are our lived experiences. I hope through my own personal adoptee journey I'm able to bring encouragement & allyship to the adoptee community. Keep in mind, adoptees are not a monolith, every adoptee story is to be validated.
