The practice of medicine is now at a crossroad. Countless patients are being treated simultaneously with both Western and Oriental medicine. It is quite common for a patient to seek herbal treatments while taking several prescription medications. According to Journal of American Medical Association (JAMA), an estimated 15 million adults in the United States (representing 18.4% of all prescription pharmaceutical users) took prescription drugs concurrently with herbal remedies and/or vitamins in 1997. In 2017, more than 170 million Americans (76%) take dietary supplements, according to the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN). Consumers spent more than 338 billion dollars in prescription drugs, and $36 billion dollars on vitamins, minerals and herbal supplements in 2017.

In this talk show, some commonly and higher risk of herb and drug interactions will be discussed. This will help to minimize potential conflicts and risk of potentially dangerous herb and drug interactions.

The Internet of Things (IoT). The inundation of disruptive technologies is changing the way we do everything.

What is the Internet of Things (IoT) and what does it mean to our nation’s and the world’s way of doing things? The IoT involves monitoring and sensing the present condition of things like our cities’ infrastructure, bridges, roads, water supplies and the impacts to those things by population and climate changes. The IoT is permitting humans to embed and describe our physical world into computer systems and across the internet at an ever-increasing pace. These changes come with an associated increase in system efficiency, economic benefits, and reduced human participation or intervention. Disruptive, down-sized nanotechnologies are forcing the way we do things to change rapidly, sometimes for good, sometimes not. Other topics: water resources and the associated physical systems for storing, distributing, and cleaning water and how the IoT is impacting what we do.

Alternative Healing in Modern China, with Effie Chow PhD

According to Dr. Chow, Chinese medicine is the envy of the world and has been for thousands of years. In parts of China, water shortages are critical, rivers are extremely polluted and even poisonous, and the air is even worse.

Dr. Chow believes that China's environmental problems (much like environmental problems everywhere in industrialized economies), are based on greed, impatience and shortsightedness. The Chinese government has chosen to place a higher priority on creating jobs for the country's massive population, and successfully competing on the global market, than it has on environmental protection and health. India is in a similar situation.

Eye infections are rampant in China, mostly due to air pollution, insufficient water, and poor sanitation.

The study of stress and adaptation is probably the most complicated and fascinating field in science. After more than a hundred years of study. most scientists are still mystified by the mechanisms of human adaptation, which is really what stress is all about. I wanted to change this and tell my readers about the fascinating science behind the stress response. I examine one of science’s burning issues – the epidemic of stress related diseases, disability, and early death currently ravaging the Western world. Preventable stress is devastating our health and destabilizing our communities.

The Impact of the Human Stress Response is a humanitarian work intended to educate the public worldwide about the true causes and costs of preventable human stress. This book is of great importance to the general public. It will transform many, many lives.

The 4th form or “phase” of water that is still pure H2O but is a dry solid (white-ish powder) at normal room temperature and pressure. You can set it out on the kitchen counter and it will sit there indefinitely and continue in its dry solid form. Even at temperatures far below or above 72 degrees F. it remains a dry solid, but also remains strictly H2O. This discovery has countless ramifications. But some of the more fascinating aspects of this discovery for show listeners is the overwhelming evidence now that this “phase” of water is produced naturally at the cellular level by most if not all life forms, and certainly in higher life forms from plants on up.

Fred, a gardener in the field, has written Petals on the Path, Third Millennium World Teachings, World Peace Seeds, Planting and Growing Personal Destiny and Journey of the White Robes. Aquarius Books and Gifts are proud to have one of the largest selections of books by local Authors available in southern Oregon. Since the early days of youth Fred has been a student of the esoteric schools. Finding many philosophies intertwined compelled him to study their roots and common ancestry. To this end, he compared the deeper mystical teachings within the great schools, and found most pathways have a universal thread tying them together. In recent years Fred has continued to study and teach from his home base in southern Oregon, presenting classes and leading field trips to local points of interest.

You can space plants as they grow and it’s 25 times as productive [as traditional gardening].” The word hydroponics comes from the Greek words meaning “water” and “labor”, and is a method of growing plants, mainly fruits and vegetables, without soil. The plants are placed in trays or inserted into tubing over a container of water with a submergible pump. The pump circulates the water making traditional gardening methods unnecessary. Sometimes, a different medium such as clay pellets, sand, or peat is used to support the plant. But the water filtration is the key to growth.
