I denne samtalen tar vi opp tråden fra forrige episode, og dykker dypere inn i hva lykke kan være. Vi tar utgangspunkt i Bismuths siste performance 25 juni 2021 utenfor den gamle kiosken «Majoren» på Majorstua i Oslo. Kunsteren inviterte forbipasserende på Majorstua til å snakke med han digitalt over zoom rundt spørsmål om hva lykke kan være, hva den gir oss og hva den betyr for oss. Samtalen slutter med en liten historie om lykke, funnet på et sted et godt stykke unna samfunnet de fleste av oss befinner oss i.

Welcome to this special episode in connection with Julien Bismuth’s three part project «Intet er stort, intet er litet (Nothing is big nothing is small)”. In this conversation we pick up from the previous episode, and dig deeper into what happiness is. Our starting point is Bismuth’s last performance on the 25th June 2021, outside the premises of the old legendary kiosk “Majoren” in Majorstua neighbourhood in Oslo. The artist invited passersby’s to talk to him over zoom, about questions related to what happiness can entail, what it can give us and what it means to us. The conversation ends with a small story of happiness, found in a place quite far from the society we find ourselves in.
Denne samtalen mellom Oslobiennalens Martin Berner Mathiesen og Julien Bismuth omhandler Bismuths prosjekt «Intet er stort, intet er litet (Nothing is big, Nothing is small). Våren 2021 lanserte Bismuth tredje og siste del av prosjektet, som tar for seg ulike sider ved hva lykke er og kan være. Bismuth retter disse spørsmålene, under kallenavnet Lykkeprosjektet, gjennom annonsetekster i aviser, oppfordring til svar fra publikum og en performance-intervensjon ved den gamle kiosken Majoren i krysset Valkyriegata/Kirkeveien fra kl. 14-18 den 25 juni 2021.
* The conversation you’re about to hear is between Oslobiennalen's Martin Berner Mathiesen and the artist Julien Bismuth. The conversation was recorded on June 18th 2021 - and deals with Bismuth’s performance project «Intet er stort, intet er litet (Nothing is big, Nothing is small). In the spring of 2021, Bismuth launched the third and final part of the project, and this conversation deals specifically with the last part, which we’ve come to call "the happiness project". This iteration consists of various texts that take the form of newspaper ads, where Bismuth also invite the audience to respond, as well as a final performance on June 25th from 2pm-6pm, in the premises of the old kiosk Majoren at the cross-section of Valkyriegaten and Kirkeveien at Majorstua neighbourhood in Oslo.
