Today, Howard continues the story of Zacharias & Elizabeth, reviewing what happened after the angel Gabriel appeared to Zacharias.

Jesus used the parable of the dishonest manager to show us we should know we rely on a relationship with him not self justification.
With previously used visual aids I reminded us of important truths Jesus taught and we all need to not just listen but do what Jesus says!
Visual aids used: pencils, jenga, school crossing patrol ‘lollipop’ sign, hidden treasure, precious pearl and two house builders.
Do you feel disconnected to God or find your relationship with him strained. Maybe this short meeting can open your eyes to the potential pitfalls you may be in, that ultimately lead to a dissatisfactory way of relating to God. Hopefully it also will shine a light on the beginnings of a life giving way of relating to God too!
This message explores the idea that faith is not the absence of doubt, but choosing to trust God despite uncertainty. Drawing on biblical examples like Thomas, who doubted Jesus’ resurrection, it encourages believers to see doubt not as failure, but as an opportunity to grow deeper in relationship with God. The message reminds us that God’s faithfulness is not dependent on our feelings, and that even in our darkest, most confusing moments, He remains constant, loving, and trustworthy.

Simon shares the story of Peter, someone who messed up big time. But Jesus meets Peter and us right where we are at the point of our greatest need and even though we can’t start over we can, like Peter, start again following Jesus.

On Mother's Day its good to give thanks for our mothers & all they do for us.We must also remember those whose mothers are no longer with us, or who are infirmed, or distant.In the Bible there are 7 special Mothers who gave birth to 7 children of promise - all sons.They were greatly blessed by God because of their children.Yet also there was a price to pay - all suffered in different ways because of their children.These women came to know the truth of the words - He gives, he takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord.

After the suffering of v1-21 David turns to the Covenant God who fully vindicates him. From a feeling of abandonment David finds a voice of praise. He leads us in a song of praise, faith and gratitude in which he calls the whole world to worship God.
In his early reign David experienced a time of mental and physical attack. He spoke words which Jesus would utter from the Cross. As we read these words we see that they reached their fulfilment at the Cross of Christ.

In part 2, Jo continues her exploration of the Beatitudes, reminding us of the blessings of Gods’s kingdom. Jo urges us to acknowledge these in our lives and ensure they shape our attitudes and behaviours in 2025.
The Beatitudes set out within Jesus’ sermon on the mount present a series of statements that describe the qualities of those who belong to God’s Kindgom. In part 1, Jo talks through the first four blessings, reminding us of the divine contentment that comes from living in accordance with God’s will.

As we come towards Advent are we looking forward to the coming of Christ. We are now in an instant culture where we can get everything at the click of a button. But we will not find God in this same culture. Are we still waiting for the Messiah we want?

In a world when we lose the ability to do certain things in our life due to our age-We have a God who is able to all things and never loses the ability to be able to look after his children in this life and the next.
As Christians we all go through times when God seems silent. Sometimes we may know the reasons why and other times have no idea. Today Ruth shares thoughts on what we should do during those times when God seems silent in our lives.
Simon on the launch of our annual shoebox appeal in connection with Blythswood care he talks about Giving people real hope through the Gospel.Simon reminds us that we are saved because of the gospel. This is because of the grace of God. The gospel message includes 2 important facts, the fact Jesus Christ died and the fact Jesus Christ was resurrected. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the good news, that is available to all. This is the best news that anyone can hear, it is what the people who hear this news determines where they spend eternity.
Colin asks us two questions.Where have you been? and Where are you going? He explains that we are all on a journey never stopping still and we need to take stock and look back at our lives. He explains we can also apply these questions to our Christian lives.
With the Olympic Games well underway, Howard reviews how the Apostle Paul uses the analogy of competitors running in the games to how Christians should be running the ‘Race of Faith’.

Tom talks about how God provided for the Israelite people as they wonder through the desert after they leave Egypt, by providing them Manna, on this Manna House Sunday. God wanted the lsraelite people to depend on him.
Simon refers to a book by John Blanchard, where he looks at the cross and what the cross means.For some 2,000 years Christianity has had a symbol that is universally recognized – a simple cross. Yet the cross represents not the character, life or teaching of the founder of Christianity, but the gruesome way in which he was put to death while still in his early thirties.
Phil brings us an insight into the LICC course for Whole Life Worship. He explains that we need to include God in every aspect of our daily lives. The videos Phil refers to can be found on www.licc.org.uk
On this Bethel Church Blackheath's Church anniversary Andy asks us the question are we just doing church stuff or are we following Jesus. Are we effective and productive for God as we look at 2 Peter 1 v3 - 8, where God has given us everything we need for a Godly life.
Reading from Lamentations, Howard looks at God’s seemingly harsh dealings with ancient Israel when exiled in Babylon. Even in this affliction, Jeremiah recalls there is hope in a faithful and compassionate God, provided the people examine their ways & seek forgiveness for their transgressions.
Looking at Isaiah 55, we see how God, through the sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ, invites us all to come to the Water of Life and drink of the free gift of salvation.
Our guest speaker, Wayne, asks the question, "What are we worth?" As we look as Psalm 23. He reminds us that Jesus was willing to pay the ultimate price and die for us. Jesus said he is the Good Shepherd, is the Lord Your Shepherd?
Today, Callum explores different types of rest, physical, social, and spiritual rest, and explains how God gives us this rest.
We all go through times in life when we are tempted to ask God ...Why? When something unexpected happens in our lives, or in our world, it's natural for us to ask God why it happened. Ruth challenges us today to think about whether God wants us to start asking Him a different question.

They also are required to serve they country.As King Charles arrived for the coronation service he was reminded that he came as a child of God, in the name of the King if Kings. King Charles reiterated that he came to serve his kingdom, following Jesus's example.

Linda starts by sharing about how Grace is shown in people's life, through wisdom.
Paul shares about gifts, a free gift from God, eternal life. He explains that some people do all good things, but they haven't accepted Jesus as their saviour and to become a Christian. Paul refers to a song in his message, which is called, "I wish we'd all been ready "
Pam shares for our final thought for today about how we are scared when we go and witness about Jesus.
Sue tells us the story of a five year old who is born into royalty and privilege. This prince will have a very blessed future. Things all of a sudden change when his father and grandfather are killed in battle and the child is crippled due to no fault of his own. In one day, this boys life changed forever. We can go through life changing events, but we must not be afraid. We are not worthless. David had made a covernet promise to his friend Jonathan that they would take care of each others family. We have been searched for by the King. We have been saved because of someone else. We don't have to earn God's love. Because of God's promise, we are restored to God's table. There is a placemat with your name on it. If we restore something is made to be better. Our Restoration will be restored if we accept Jesus
Howard talks about why we need to be a witness for Jesus and gives three examples from the New Testament of the different ways we can be a witness, through words and actions. Howard also ask’s us if we are a witness for Jesus in or lives.
Simon wants to remind us how important first impressions are when it comes to the fundamentals of Jesus's teachings. How the gospel plays a big part in those first impressions.
Following on from Tony Shaw' s God is Still in control podcast from last week, we here the other side of the story from Becki's perspective.
Mark asks , "How changeable are we?" Everything around us changes, but are we willing to change. Mark talks about Elijah and how everything around him changed, but he didn't turn against God. We need to remember what's important. Remember wherever we find ourselves in life. God is with you. He never leaves us. We are saved by grace by God's amazing grace, by the goodness of God.
Jo reminds us that we are all specially and specifically gifted by God to fulfil his work here on earth, serving him in our churches and local communities. However, we must be eager, ready and available to live out this calling.
Feet. They get our body to the place where service is needed by learning that we need to sit at His feet Worship at His feet Serve at His feet and with Joy Follow in His footsteps.
On this father's day, Tony asks us the simple question Do we know the Father? We are reminded of the love in God, the Fathers heart, how God the Father wants to spend time with us.
There is power in the name of Jesus to answer our prayers & bring about change. This message is based on the song "I speak Jesus" written by Here be lions.
As Mark refers to the scripture where God calls Samuel, we are asked if we are listening to God, are we in tune to God listening out for when he calls us. God is interested in us, and that is why he was willing to send Jesus to die for us. Is Jesus beside us no matter what we are going through.
On Pentecost Sunday, Jo reminds us of the need to be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit and the importance of being found in Christ if we are to share gods love to those around us
Is God bothered about the little things. Yes, he is. David was the smallest and littlest in his family. Yet he killed the biggest giant Goliath. The shepherd was bothered about the lost sheep, he will be bothered about us. Zacchaeus was little, but God was bothered about him. God was in control of the situation with Joseph, the little things as big things can happen. We need to listen to the quite small voice. In God, we will have success. God uses the small detail. We do things without thinking, but God knows everything. He is ultimately in control.
Today, Howard talks about anointing. In the OT this was a physical act involving the smearing, rubbing, or pouring of sacred oil on someone’s head (or on an object) as an outward symbol that God had chosen and set apart the person (or object) for a specific holy purpose.In the NT, Jesus Christ reveals Himself as our anointed King, Priest, and Prophet. He is God’s Holy and chosen Son, the Christ (anointed one).

Sue talks about two old testament women, how God knew them, he knew there lives and how he worked through these women to change things. God hears and God answers prayers.
Mark asks us how do we move closer to God? Everyone one will at somepoint will face death in a physical sense, but spiritually we will never die and we are asked if we know God face 2 face to allow us to move closer to God.
Tony's talk for this week looks at how we often forget things, but we should never forget that we have a calling for God. We need to live our lives for Jesus. He asks us How will you be remembered?
This weeks podcast Colin discusses the fact as a world our lives are ruled by time, but time is beyond our control. We need to forget about past times and we need to look forward to future times. He reminds us that everything is carried out in God's time and how God can provide us with stability.
Howard looks at Romans 15 and how we can live our lives so we can bring glory to God. We are reminded that in our own lives we know each other well, but in our church lives we don't know each other that well.

Simon speaks to us about how important our saviour Jesus Christ was in the life of our late Queen Elizabeth II as he was the bedrock of her faith. Jesus came to serve through his life, and that through his death we have a hope.
Mark reminds us today that the ancient words within the Bible come from God. These words provide us guidance through the journey of life, these words are behind the songs we sing, it doesn't matter if you have a privileged life or not, but everyone has the opportunity to gain a meeting the King of Kings because of these ancient words, which are still relevant today.
Tony speaks about memorable days we we are reminded about the 21st anniversary of the 911 Twin Towers attack and the death of Queen Elizabeth ll. He speaks about a memorable day who was both healed and had his sins forgiven by Jesus.
Do you feel like you are in a drought? Exhausted, disappointed or like you are stagnant? Today Callum takes a look at spiritual drought encouraging that rain is coming and looking at some reasons why we might be in a drought as well as ways that God can help water us.
Jo speaks about how everyone will go through battles. Everyones battles that are different. During these battles we are reminded to seek God's advice and guidance. If we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ we will overcome these battles. Are we able to take a step of faith?
What does it mean when we say "be blessed" or "bless you"? Today Gwen dives into the bible looking at the blessings of God.
Joe talks about Paul's letter to the church at Colosse. How he reminds them that Christ is the key, how we have the hope and the resurrection through Christ. He reminds us we have an inheritance from Christ, how we just need to faith and trust, that because Jesus because the ultimate sacrifice we can have life through him.
Simon asks us to spot the difference in three different parables that Jesus told. The stories of the two different builders, two different sons and two different prayers. He then asks how we will respond to the different stories and if we are going to follow the Lord Jesus Christ.

Today Mark encourages us that "when we are at the end of our rope, we should tie another knot and keep on climbing". We have a God that whatever our circumstance, every night, He hangs out the stars. He is in control.
Phil talks about who pressure can be a privilege, how when we are under more pressure it can be a game changer. This pressure can help us change, grow and develope. Phil mentions about various people within the bible such as Job, Joseph & Esther who all went through pressure and hardships, yet they grew as people.
This week our podcast is taken from our Tuesday Together meeting where Mark shares some thoughts on "Whom will you serve?" and he also asks that once you've decided whom you've going to serve, will you be the sort of Christian who will say "I don't want to"
Howard talks about how through God we can pull down the strongholds in our lives that prevent us from becoming more like Jesus. These strongholds will take a lifetime to tear down, but all the while we are gradually transformed so we become more like Jesus.
This morning Andy reminds us that no other person in history has had the same impact as Jesus because everything is based around him. We are asked who our Good Shepherd is and also reminded that Jesus is loyal and will never leave us, just as a shepherd will never abandon his flocks. Tony reminds us that we will get heavenly rewards for doing God's work on earth and showing his love. Do we do things to get heavenly rewards or for earthly recognition. We have an opportunity to connect to people, to be a source of blessing and we can make a difference. We will be remembered for the tiniest acts as we're reminded in Matthew 10 v42 God blesses the small.
Anne reminds us about the importance of your heart, and she asks us the question, HOW IS YOUR HEART? Some people have health issues with the heart, but Anne speaks about the Heart of us as a person. We need to guard our heart. We are given the advice to guard our heart because everything we do comes from the heart. The condition of the heart affects our life. God knows what the human heart is like. We all have a heart problem, a heart which is deceitful. But God searches our heart. We need to have the right attitude in our heart, do not forget out body is a temple for God. We need our heart to be God centred.
Jo shares some thoughts on how people spend money on their outward appearance, yet we neglect to focus on our outward appearance as a Christian. She reminds us that our body is a temple to God with the holy spirit living in us. We need God to cleanse our souls, so we can radiate God's love.
Ruth starts asking us if we would answer honestly the question, How are you? We all go through different situations yet we don't always want to admit honestly how we are. Ruth also asks if we if we would have an Even if faith ne doesn't kind of faith looking at Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego in the firey furnace.
Carole starts off with the line from a Cliff Richard song "It's gonna be okay" as she reminds us that whenever we go through different times God will be with us and it will be okay. She also talks about different types of gloves in our lives as a Christian, how we have gloves to help us show delight in the Lord, gloves to protect us from sin, gloves to help us in difficult times and to stop us getting into hot water, gloves to separate us from the world, gloves to protect us, gloves to give us comfort and gloves to remind us the battle has been won by God.
Mark asks us as a Christian do we recharge our faith in a recharge world. He also asks us if as a Christian do we portray a glumly image or do we show that Christians can be full of joy, living life to the full. Does God's JOY shine through us.
Gwen discusses how as Christians we have privileges given to us as God's children. She looks at how Samson was privileged from birth as a child of God, but he didn't live a privileged life, do we?
Simon asks us questions on What is a Christian? Are you a Christian? and Salvation for What? He reminds us that we should put God 1st in our lives, but by the death of Jesus dying on the cross we can have unity with God.

Who is your God?
Today Mark encourages us to know a joyful Jesus that provides for us, turns water into wine, sinners into saints, fear into courage, sorrow into joy, defeat into victory, despair into hope and death into life.
Joy comes from knowing who Jesus is.
Do you know Jesus as your Lord and Saviour but sometimes find yourself weak and ineffective? Or perhaps you are someone who is hard or hostile, refusing to acknowledge Christ despite the evidence around you of his power and his working?

The word lost can be used in lots of scenarios: being lost having gone the wrong way, having lost a loved one (if they know Jesus then they are not lost but are home), being a lost cause.
No matter what lost you feel right now, we are not lost to Jesus, He wants you to find Him and know that He loves you.
Today, Carole shares some stories of times where people have felt lost and reminds us that Jesus is our guide and shows us His way.
Have you ever said: "if God loves me, then why does He allow so many difficulties and trials to come into my life?"
If you have, then you are in good company because throughout the centuries, many Christians have responded to their troubles with similar words.
Today Simon shares some encouragement as to God's purpose in permitting trials and difficulties in our lives.

John 20: 16 NIV - Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means “Teacher”)
Easter called Mary by name. Easter became a personal experience for her. Easter became real, genuine. Easter became powerful and authentic and most of all, Easter became life changing.
Is Easter genuine to you? Is it authentic? Life changing? Or is it just Easter: another holiday in our calendar.
Today, on Easter Sunday, Mark encourages us to listen to our risen Saviour, Jesus Christ, as He calls us by name.
He can change our despair to hope, anguish to happiness, pain to freedom, unknown into a known exciting future with a certain eternity.

What a difference a Day makes! Today, on Good Friday, Tony shares some thoughts about the impact of Christ's death on the Centurion who exclaimed "Surely this man was the Son of God" in Mark 15: 39.
Judas and Peter are very different characters who both spent three years with Jesus, listening to His teachings and witnessing His miracles and yet Judas went out into the darkness of the night whereas Peter walked into the brightness of the day.
Today Gwen shares some thoughts on both Judas and Peter and their very different life outcomes.
Our lives are like a tapestry, a work of art crafted beautifully by God. God weaves together the threads of life to create an amazing tapestry that one day we will be able to see.
We may be experiencing the ugly side of our tapestry, the knots and dark threads but we can remind ourselves of who our God is, what He is like and how much he understands our pain. We have a God we can trust, a weaver who can give us hope in the darkest of times.
Today Anne shares an analogy of life inspired by Corrie Ten Boom and reminds us that we might only see the reverse side of our tapestry but we can trust and know that God is forming a beautiful piece that gives glory to Him and shows good to others.
Sometimes we just don't know what to do. Whether it's knowing what's best or making a decision, sometimes we just don't know.

- We should trust and remember that God is still working even when we can’t see it.
- We should have faith in Jesus because we can do all things through Him.
- We should think about what Jesus would do and bring our situation to Him. He is the best counsellor and the best guide.
- We should speak to those that we trust and seek wisdom from God.
- We should remember that we don’t always need to do something.
Each day we have tens to hundreds of encounters; meetings with others. What are the most important meetings that you have had in your life?
In todays podcast, Carole shares some examples of meetings from the Bible and encourages us to think about these questions:
- After a meeting with Jesus, do people see a change in you? Do they see a different person?
- When we pray, do we doubt that God is working when we don't see answers rather than thanking Him for the fact we know He is working, even when we can't see it?
- Do we expect God to do what we ask when we pray? - We should pray thanksgiving prayers, expecting God to answer
Carole also shares a quote from Arthur Blessit:
What if you were on the way to heaven and met a friend who was on the way to hell, would they say "Wow I wish I had listened to you when you were showing and telling me about Jesus" or would they say "Hey! You knew about Jesus and you never told me, I never knew you were a follower of His!"
Jo Goodman shares the story of Paul and his many God given opportunities and encourages us to make the most of the opportunities we are given for such a time as this.

We should look forward to our tomorrows because there is nothing in our tomorrow that our God hasn't got complete control of.
Trust Him, worship Him, praise Him.

Jo Goodman shares some thoughts about leaving a legacy for the future generations, preparing them and encouraging them to spend a future with Christ by their side.

- How are you currently serving God faithfully at church?
- Are you living out your calling or are you ignoring what God has got planned for you?
- How is your life influencing those around you?

The greatest legacy we can look to is the one that Jesus left so be encouraged that Jesus lives in us and that he gives us the strength to follow Him and to enter our calling courageously
