Week 4: You and The Mirror
This week we will summarize key themes of this challenge through the metaphor of approaching the mirror. The mirror we use to self-reflect upon is vital to our self-leadership success.
Reflective Questions:
- What are the top 10 mirrors in your life?
- What types of mirrors do you have? People, books, podcasts, mindsets, etc. Which ones would you like to include that you don’t have?
- What challenges do you face when you “approach the mirror”? What are some strategies to help you with those challenges?
- What challenges do you face when getting into the arena? What are some strategies to get you in there?
- What scriptures remind you of who you are and what you are capable of?
- Now that the challenge is over, what will you be taking with you as a leader today that you did not have when you started the challenge?

This week we will discuss 3 powerful tools for the self-leadership journey. When applied, they are the difference between a lofty dream and an available reality.

- What challenges you when it comes to preparation?
- Which preparation or “preparation routine” would be helpful for you to grow to the next level?
- If you were to design a “preparation routine”, what would that look like?
- Who are the 3-5 closest people in your life? How are they impacting your growth?
- Which “companions or mentors” would you like to limit, invest in further or add to your life?
- What are some areas of your self-development that you would like your “companions and mentors” to be involved in to help you grow?
- What would a good reflective process look like for you?
- Which scripture passages or moments in your walk with God are encouraging/helpful/beneficial to regularly reflect upon?
- What are some practical steps you could take this week to work a reflective process into your routine?

Week 2: Knowing Your Design
This week we will discuss 3 elements of your design. What empowers you, guides you, fuels you. You have a unique design and a unique contribution for us all; what is it?
Reflective Questions:
- What do you seem to be able to do with a great amount of ease and effortlessness?
- What would you consider your top strengths and personality traits?
- If you were to list out 10 things that you are not, what would they be? What does that list say to you?
- List out your top 10 values in life. How well do you invest in these values daily? Weekly? Monthly?
- Based on the health of your values, do you feel they are guiding you where you want to go in life?
- What are some memories you have where you experienced an extraordinary amount of joy and significance? What do these memories have in common?
- What segment of humanity do you feel drawn to? What segment of humanity do you feel the need to avenge when injustices come upon them?
- If you were to put your why, your intent, into one sentence, what would it be?
- Who do you compare yourself to? Why do you think that is?
- Can you sum up all this into 5-7 sentences?

"When I saw the faces of the people and heard their stories, I knew I had to do something." Passages and Philos Project Alum, Rachael Reynolds listened to the stories of Iraqi Christians in Jordan fleeing ISIS. She created a project called "Terror & Hope" featuring the portraits and stories contrasting the lives of Christians living in freedom and those fleeing ISIS. Khalil is a Palestinian Christian, born in the Gaza strip and is a Philos Project Fellow. Growing up, Khalil was taught that Israel and the West were responsible for the suffering of all Palestinians, and he grew to hate both. After the 2008 Gaza war, Khalil decided to move to the West Bank, where he was exposed to the true Christian faith. His life changed dramatically when he accepted Christ and started following His teaching. As a result of his conversion, Khalil started working to love the people who he’d grown up seeing as enemies: Israel and the West. Listen to his story today on Passages Voice!
An Assyrian Christian born and raised in Iran, Juliana Taimoorazy is the founder and president of the Iraqi Christian Relief Council, an organization that raises awareness about the persecuted church in Iraq and helps Assyrian refugees resettle in the United States. She is also a fellow with the Philos Project.

As a Guatemalan, Israel had been important and in our hearts since the state independence process. Guatemala played a relevant role in voting, in the UN, through Jorge Granados. God allowed me to go to Israel three times through Passages, once as a participant with Multnomah University (OR), and twice as a fellow, and these trips reinforced my passion for Israel, to learn from them and advocate. Israel is an example for the world, and a light for nations in topics such as development in education, agriculture, innovation and entrepreneurship, technology, security, and democracy. Mashav, the International Cooperation Agency for Development, is training thousands people around the world in these topics. God opened a door this year for me, and I am working at Mashav in Guatemala, the job of my dreams where I can be a servant leaders for those in need.
