— Formerly “No Shirts Just Skins” —
The latest in Minnesota sports broken down from a fan's standpoint.
Eric founded MinnesotaSportsFan.com (self-proclaimed fastest emerging sports website in the state..). Brandon, being older and wiser, constantly needs to remind him he's not that big of a deal.
Different name but shirts are still optional.....
After some technical difficulties to start the show, Eric and Brandon caught their usual groove and touched on the Twins faltering and injured pitching staff and how difficult it is to get an ace pitcher with cheap mid-market owners.
Then gears switched to the Vikings and JC Tretter's reported interest in wearing purple. Would he be worth the price tag? What is the price tag? Looking back on the draft, Kwesi and O'Connell wanted Cine the whole time.
The Minnesota Twins are struggling with a COVID outbreak, which begs to question why we're still panicking over such nonsense. Eric and Brandon also hit on Dave Benz weird firing, Kwesi's first draft and laugh at how happy the Timberwolves were to accept their playoff participation trophy after losing in game 6 to Memphis.
It's the 69th episode of the Minnesota Sports Fan Podcast and we're celebrating with margaritas (Eric is at least) and talking all the major topics including:
The Minnesota sports scene is hotter than it has been in recent memory and the Minnesota Sports Fan podcast has it all covered. In episode 68, Brandon and Eric discuss what has gotten into the Twins and what's left to happen with the Twins. But the Vikings also signed Za'Darius Smith today, which needed a full segment. We also discussed Bill Guerin's massive balls and how good we should feel about the Wolves going into the playoff stretch.
Brandon and Eric are back and the world of Minnesota sports are on fire. In their return episode, they focus on the Vikings and Twins offseasons and wtf each team might be planning. Karl-Anthony Towns and the Timberwolves are the topic that closes the show. He's a new man and the Wolves have a new future of possibilities.
Richard Pitino had an interesting postgame speech for his team after another terrible loss, this time to Nebraska. He knows it's his last few games as Minnesota Gophers head coach. Brandon's been dreaming of this day for years.
Then, we jump over to the lowly Timberwolves, and whether KAT can be a sidekick on a willing team, before Eric talks about how the Twins make him nervous.
After opening updates involving Eric's sex life and Brandon's big boy move, this episode is all about Kirk Cousins, Jimmy Garoppolo and blockbuster Minnesota Vikings + San Francisco 49ers trade rumors.
In episode 64, Brandon has gone MIA so Eric carries the show with three major topics.
Episode 62 of the Minnesota Sports Fan Podcast is full of presidential pardon history knowledge, TIGER documentary reviews, Kirill Kaprizov and.... WTF was Rick Spielman thinking when he passed on Antoine Winfield Jr and Tyler Johnson?
The Minnesota Sports Fan Podcast is now on two-a-weeks and Brandon couldn't get through without drinking. He has a lot to say about a few controversial subjects to start things off. Then He and Eric eventually get into it over the Twins and Timberwolves.
So... alcohol or not, this episode is pretty much the same as all of the others.
Brandon and Eric are in your ears again and this time Eric is apparently "working out"... which can't be true, according to Brandon.
After spending way too much time on work outs, it's time for things that don't matter, like the PJ Fleck's new infatuation with the transfer portal, Dalvin Cook with a chip on his shoulder and Tim Walz hating sports fans around the state.
It's been a little while, but the Minnesota Sports Fan Podcast has returned and both Eric and Brandon are ready to get to work. I hope you're ready...
It's episode 59 and we're all over the place.
MSF is moving up in the world again and we have an announcement for some activities next week.
Then, we move on to the Tyus Jones news that dropped on Wednesday morning (we try to figure out why the Wolves don't want any serviceable PG's on their team). Could they possibly want Russell Westbrook? Does that make sense for the Wolves?
Amir Coffey got the 2-way contract he was seeking when he left school a year early. But, Eric is still trying to figure out why he wanted out badly enough to risk not making the league at all...
Our second segment starts with the Twins and Eric is shaking in his boots as he looks in the rearview mirror, at the Cleveland Indians hot on our tail... The two will faceoff starting Friday...
Did you hear about these pissed off topless chicks swimming around Lake Superior? As much as we love the freeing of breasts on this show... the science says full freedom might not be what women want in the long run...
In episode 58 of the Minnesota Sports Fan Podcast, I open the show with Seth Toups (MSF Writer, KLGR Radio) and we talk mostly Wolves and their crazy weekend, where they lost out on D'Angelo Russell and then helped the Warriors finish the deal to land him? But.... hope is what came out of the weekend. Hope that we might deal Andrew Wiggins.
After chatting a little Twins to end our segment with Seth, Ryan Burns joined the show for 30 minutes of our Gopher recruiting bliss. When all you do lately is beat Wisconsin, life feels pretty good.
Lastly, WE ARE TALKING HOCKEY! That's right... ice, puck, boards, goals... Zak Klosowski, who writes every once in awhile for us, joined the show to tell us why the Minnesota Wild are fucking themselves for the future.
It's been another big week in the sports "abyss".
Eric heard details on the new Madden and it looks like EA is going big this year... that's what we discuss during a well-read 1st segment before transitioning to the Twins being back. They beat the Rays in game 1 of a 3 gamer in Target Field this week. Are we worried about Miguel Sano???
Then, shit gets real controversial when we start discussing the NCAA's latest fight. It's with Brandon's favorite (and Eric's least favorite) state, California. Cali is woke and wants to be abot to pay players for their likeness... how do you think the NCAA feels about that?
Gopher Football got their best recruits so far for 2020 on Tuesday... but Eric and Brandon want to see more.
Then, we finish up with a conversation about this whole D'Angelo Russel to Minnesota buzz around town. People... he is going to get near-max money... how are we going to pay that AND would we want to?
Episode 56 is lit.
We discuss PJ Fleck and Gopher Football's big weekend and talk about the next step in our recruiting development.
The Timberwolves are slotted to pick number 11 in Thursday's draft... but rumors are swirling... but does it matter with Wiggins on the roster?
The Twins have hit a small bump in the road over the last 4 games. It's nothing to worry about but our playoff pitching is. What do the Twins do to fix it?
Have you seen the Minnesota recruits that Pitino is after for 2020? Jalen Suggs is just the beginning of what that class could be for Gopher Basketball.
Oh yeah, and did you see that the Vikings are going to suck in 2019? Apparently that's the cool take these days.
Oh, and we couldn't miss the CO Youth Baseball Royal Rumble...
Welcome to Episode 55 of the Minnesota Sports Fan Podcast where we have another new producer named Kyle. There is a war on that name, if you haven't heard. Kyle reads and talks about that.
Most of this episode is filled with Brandon and Eric fighting about how "untouchable" the top Twins prospects really are and what it would take for the team to bring in some dominant pitching to help with a world series run.
Kyle then does a dramatic reading of the Barstool Sports article "The War on Kyles" so we can learn more about him.
We finish off with some Gopher Football recruiting updates from all over the world.
The Minnesota Twins are the hottest team in baseball and might have the best team to ever step onto a professional Minnesota diamond... but the first 20 minutes of this show was derailed because Brandon's mind gets sidetracked when you mention "smoking hot" and "twins" in the same sentence....
Eventually, we did recover and were able to talk about how good this baseball team really is and what kind of move they should make at the trade deadline.
Should the Twins be ready to unload one of their top-2 prospects for the type of pitching it would take to make a deep playoff run start to look beyond "possible" and closer to "likely"?
After a quick message from our friends at Pro Image Sports (MOA), we move on from the Twins and over to some Gopher Basketball, who is hosting a grad-transfer recruit they they really need now that Amir Coffee is officially moving on with his career..
We squeeze in a TINY bit about the Wolves and Wild as we close.
Episode 53 is full because the Minnesota Sports Abyss is non-existent in 2019. The Twins continue to dominate everyone, winning 6 of 7 in their last two series and pulling a ridiculous record of 33-16 to start the season... wtf is happening?
Ryan Saunders won a contest for the Minnesota Timberwolves head coach that didn't have any other contestants...
The MIAC kicked St. Thomas out of their conference because they win too much and we can't help but try to save society, when discussing.
The Gopher football team has had some interesting news flow through the last couple of days and we are defending PJ Fleck's honor again.
Minnesota Sports Fan Writer and the Great Kirk Cousins Defender, Brian Heintz joins the MSF Podcast for the entire show and we put his QB love to the test immediately by having him stack Kirk Cousins vs the rest of the QB's in the league... Where does Kirk really stand vs his adversaries?
Is Kyle Rudolph leaving? Probably... Will we miss him?
Then, it's onto our current team in action, the Minnesota Twins, who have quietly started a little mini-slide... are we worried about them? Do they need help?
Oh yeah, and the Timberwolves' last chance at salvaging their franchise happens Thursday with the NBA Draft Lottery. The Timberwolves have a 3% chance of saving their franchise.
Episode 51 of the Minnesota Sports Fan podcast has forced us to talk about the Timberwolves since they hired a New President of Basketball Operations, in Gersson Rosas. Your PoBOing skills don't matter when you have Andrew Wiggins strapped to your back.
The sun starts shining again when we talk about the Twins, who we knew would bounce back last night after losing 2 of 3 in New York. Now standing at 21-12 and atop the Central Division, the Twins are a train that can't be stopped. Destination: Playoffs.
We found some time left available to talk about the Vikings and their cap and Laquon Treadwell problems before ending the show with a segment about Gopher basketball and their new grad-transfer. Also, how will the Gophers fair this coming season? Hint: Does Amir Coffey come back?
Episode 50 went off the rails a lot. Brandon and Eric were distracted driving through this entire episode and it made for one of the best yet.
Through it all, we recap the Vikings draft, discussing all of the good things and some of the flaws Spielman displayed over the weekend.
Twins Baseball doesn't get left off of this podcast anymore since all they do is win, with another victory last night, this time against the AL West leading Houston Astros.
And in between our planned topics is our usual nonsense which, this time, consists of eric's struggle to reach his wife's moist boxx, brandon's life-long struggle to reach as much moist boxx as possible, and Eric fighting and confusing everyone on Twitter again..
In episode 49, our professional is showing. We have our favorite draft expert, Jordan Reid to get us all hot and bothered for the incoming NFL Draft and what the Vikings will do with their picks. You can be the smartest Vikings draft person at work if you listen to this half hour.
After letting Jordan go, we dive into our best montage yet... and it's Tiger Woods - Masters related. We talk about it too.. but the MONTAGE...
Eric also covered the Gopher Football Spring Game as a member of the media. He talks about his first time as a "Big J"
We sneak some Twins in too... The ended up losing after this recorded... because of pitching... like we talk about on the show.
Oh.... and Brandon bought Taco Bell for $27 on Sunday, to recover from another night of time traveling.
As we episode closer and closer to the half-century mark, we have a new guest this week! Brandon Warne was gracious enough to lend us his baseball expertise to anwer questions on the Twins and the unwritten rules of baseball. It's time for America's pastime to make some changes.
Once we finally let Brandon go, we found some time to talk about Richard Pitino's contract extension and what it means.... (hint: nothing)
In episode 47, Brandon and Eric dive deep into the Minnesota Twins optimism now that we have a series win over Cleveland under our belts.
It's not all positive though as the NCAA Tournament is evil and we discuss whether it's worth watching the tournament next year or worth spending time at US Bank stadium or downtown for this year's Final Four.
We recap the Gopher Basketball season as JellyFam looks to transfer away.
In episode 46, we get ready for the NCAA Tournament by doing the NCAA a favor and round-tabling how to fix the "non-profit" organization with Brandon's old friend, David Queck who drops all sorts of knowledge. After some calm discussion, we think we may have fixed it.
After fixing the NCAA with Queck, Brandon and I discuss the upcoming tournament for the Gophers. Can they win a game in the dance? Can the beat Louisville? Does it matter? Then, we have a calm discussion about Richard Pitino and why Brandon is a dumbass for wanting him fired still.
We can't get through an episode without talking about the Vikings and with the NFL offseason burning wild, there's plenty to talk about... well.. plenty to talk about on the offensive line...
After a long episode, we make 10 minutes for the Twins because they have us so jacked up for this summer. Sure, they could use another pitcher but this team is hitting so many bombs it might not matter...
Eddie Rosario for MVP!
ANNOUNCEMENT: Stay on the lookout today for the Minnesota Sports Fan NCAA Bracket Challenge! It's sponsored by our friends over at Pro Image Sports in the Mall of America! You'll have a chance to win $100 gift cards NEW Minnesota Sports Fan T-Shirts!
This is a very Vikings-centric episode with Free Agency upon us. We talk about the moves that have been made so far and what we might see yet to come.
We also listen to Kirk Cousins tell Paul Allen how pissed off he is at how last season ended. Is this really fire we are hearing from Kirk Cousins?
We also talk about the status of Richard Pitino and the Gopher Basketball team, who can't seem to lose themselves out of the NCAA Tournament.
We can't miss the Twins either. Byron Buxton is going to hit .500 this year with 100 bombs.
In episode 44, the guys work to stay on task in an episode that doesn't have a guest. Some straying from topic leads to talk about Twitter troll accounts and more love for PJ Fleck.
While on topic, we talk about how good the Twins will be and we estimate how many home runs they will hit by going through the lineup player by player. Can the beat 225?
It's a big Tuesday in Minnesota sports and that includes the first of two games this week where the Gophers will have a chance to win their way into the NCAA Tournament... I wish we were as optimistic on them as we are on the Twins...
The Vikings trade rumors are swirling. Is Everson Griffen the right phone call away from being a former Viking?
And, you didn't think you would escape an episode without a PJ BJ did you? Good, because we talk about Fleck vs. Jerry again.
The NFL Draft is around the corner and there is nobody better on the internet to talk to us about it than Jordan Reid or Climb the Pocket and Cover1 Sports. Jordan's road to NFL Draft Analyst fame isn't a normal one. It's the Twitter Cinderella Story!
Jordan drops all sorts of knowledge on the Vikings' options at 18. He tells us if it's a lock for the Vikings to go offensive line or if they might look elsewhere. Who would need to drop for the us to look at drafting outside of OL?
With so much need at OL, Jordan tells us who might be a good fit for our purple and gold. He also tells us what he looks for while watching the combine, which will be alive in full force over the next few days.
Finally, we had to let Jordan go or Brandon never would've stopped asking questions... We moved onto Ja Rule's supposed curse against the Timberwolves.... and the Kings?
Do the Twins have us actually reasonably excited for baseball?????????
Jerry Kill made a fool of himself on Tuesday evening when he went on national radio with an agenda to slander PJ Fleck. Unfortunately for him, everyone listening has a brain and knows what he said was false. Ryan Burns comes on the show to give us his inside take on the entire situation and then updates us on the current state of Gopher Football recruiting. Then, Brandon and I discuss why Jerry is so salty and jealous of PJ Fleck.
Then, we move on to the other coach on campus, Richard Pitino. The Gophers are on the NCAA bubble and Richard Pitino's job should be on the line. We discuss why it'd be the perfect time to fire him if he isn't dancing in March.
With so much negativity around town, it's nice to have some hope in the Twins and Rocco Baldelli is a big reason for that hope. With sweeping changes around Fort Myers for Spring Training, the Twins seem to be on the cutting edge of the MLB instead of being last to the party like we've been used to. Now..... can he win?
Lastly, who is to blame for the Kirk Cousins Twitter controversies? Should we feel bad for Kirk Cousins? Are his mentions getting out of hand?
Also, Charlie Coyle got traded right before the show and we know nothing about who the Wild got back for him. GREAT hockey minds!
10 Years ago to the day, "The Office" released the best episode (2 parts) in the best TV series of all time. It immediately followed the Super Bowl in 2009 and "Stress Relief" brought the show to a completely new audience. We watch the best scenes of that episode together. From "The Fire Drill" to "CPR Training" this episode lives in TV infamy.
During, in-between, and after we watch "The Office" we chat about the Winners of Super Bowl 53, which included Brady, Belichick, and Barstool Sports.
Eric also tries to teach Brandon what love is and why it's different than lust.... there are some things you just can't teach.
In Episode 40, Brandon is on another vacation so Eric is joined by his brother Brett and they break down the state of Minnesota sports as things sit right now.
Vikings
Can Kubiak and Stefanski be the key to success? What makes us nervous? Find out.
Timberwolves:
Who will be the next Timberwolves head coach and does it matter? In the meantime, will the interim operators be allowed (or want) to make a blockbuster move that might involve Andrew Wiggins? Who else may we see go or arrive?
Gopher Basketball:
What is the ceiling for Gopher Basketball and what is holding this team back from being a legitimate contender? How big of a problem is Jellyfam? Wait... WTF happened to Jellyfam?
Wild
The Wild are on a hot streak as we enter the all-star break. We've heard that before....
Brandon is back from vacation physically but who knows when he'll be back mentally...
In-between him and his party music, we yelled at each other about California and whether or not it should fall into the ocean, the status of life in MN vs other states, and some relevant sports topics.
Randy Moss jumped onto Instagram to request a coaching interview from the Vikings. We discuss how stupid the organizations would be if they don't contact him.
Twins fans are internet fighting and there's no reason for it.
Jackie McMullen from ESPN wrote a story proving (again) that Jimmy Butler is an asshole and Karl Anthony-Towns is soft...
Also, have you ever watched "The Curse of Oak Island" on the History Channel? If not, Eric explains why you need to... You don't want to miss the biggest historical find in human history when it could be right there on your big screen.
Brandon is out on another vacation but is spelled by the infamous Seth Toupal, who writes for the site and talks on the radio for a living at KLGR in Redwood Falls/Alexandria area as the host of "The Scoop."
Darren Wolfson was nice enough to hop on the phone with us to give us the low-down on all of the latest Minnesota Sports News.
- How excited are we about new-look Wolves?
- Who is the TWolves next FULL-TIME coach?
- What happened with Gophers OC Kirk Ciarocca and WVU? (It's not the first time...)
- Gopher Football loaded with young talented coaches
After about 20 minutes with Darren, we lost the recording so we cut short about 1 minute.
We then comb over our Wolfson interview before moving on to the Gopher Basketball team who we are very nervous about after Tuesday's loss to Maryland.
Last, but not least, we hit the Vikings' hire of Kevin Stefanski and what we should expect to see from the Vikings' offense in 2019.
In episode 37 we spend a lot of time on what's important in life. Maple Syrup and Insta-Pots.
Cub Foods let Eric down when he needed maple syrup this week and he needs a vent line.
Meanwhile Brandon’s new Christmas present might make him a real adult finally.
We also move over to MN Sports where the Gopher Basketball team got a huge upset win in Wisconsin Thursday night. How good can they be this year now that they are 12-2 on the season?
We don't forget about the Vikings, unfortunately.
Eric has a bad feeling about what cost the Vikings their ”nastiness” as Zimmer put it. Can they get that back next year?
At this point, the Twins are the most exciting team in town.... That's probably not a good thing but we discuss why we are excited and how the new FO’s plan is clearly unveiling itself.
Minnesota Sports Fan has been quiet with Eric planning and executing major renovations on the site while Brandon tries to forget about Winter with vacation after vacation but the MSF Podcast always delivers.
We get sidetracked with government conspiracies, sex-ed recommendations, and arguments about whether one can rock a fanny pack but those are distractions that you deal with in everyday conversation.
We do get to some sports talk.
We are jacked up about the future of Gopher Football after they charged out of bowl season on absolute fire.
The Twins sign Nelson Cruz and take another step toward putting the future of this team on Byron Buxton and Miguel Sano. Will they finally break through?
Lastly, we talk Vikings-Bears.... Can the SKOL Train pull out the victory and head to the postseason as the team NOBODY wants any part of come playoffs?
Let's get it.

WOW.
It was a packed show for Episode 35.
We start with Ryan Burns of GopherIllustrated.com. Drama rocked the Gopher Football world when certain reporters at PJ Fleck's NSD Press Conference railroaded the coach with questions about team rule violations.
We get Ryan's take on that fiasco since he was there...
He also tells us who he is betting on to win the QB job come next year, now that we will have 4 scholarship players fighting in an "open competition".
Lastly, we chat the ups and downs of National Signing Day and whether PJ Fleck can keep one of his top commitments to stay in the boat through January when he's being pulled all over SEC country.
We thank Ryan Burns for joining us and always recommend you subscribe at GopherIllustrated.com if you are a Gopher fan of any kind!
Brandon and I get into the Vikings after Ryan leaves. Could Brandon really be back on the bandwagon so quickly...? Do we allow him back in?
Also, you won't want to miss our "Top News" segment to end the show...
- Rick Pitino Working Again
- European Kickball Stadiums in Town
- Butler sits with KG
- Twitter Makes a Needed Change
- MORE......
Wow Minnesota Sports Fam! We have one hell of a show for you today! Scheduling conflicts mean we were able to upgrade from Brandon to Darren "Doogie" Wolfson of Channel 5, 1500 ESPN and "The Scoop" Podcast, who graced us with his insider knowledge for almost an ENTIRE HOUR! You won't want to miss this episode.. Here's a preview:
Glen Taylor gets all up in his feelings with Darren and talked Butler, Thibs, and Kevin Garnett. How hurt was Thibs through the Jimmy Drama? What caused the riff between KG and Glen Taylor? We discuss all of this with Doogie plus much more...
On a tension/friction meter that ranges from 0 to Butler vs Towns, where were Zimmer and DeFilippo? Is there any tension between Cousins and Thielen? What should we expect out of Stefanski and is he interviewing for the full time job next year?
What is going on with the suspension/discipline on the Gopher Football team? Darren answers that and goes deep into how the media stumbled upon it. It's must-hear.
And last, but not least, Byron Buxton had some VERY interesting comments about the Falvine Train after he didn't make the September call-up list. Who did he talk to about it? You guessed it. Darren tells us all about his conversation with Byron.
If you want to be the smartest guy at the watercooler on Thursday, you'd better listen to this show!
Catch Darren Wolfson on KSTP, 1500 ESPN, and find "The Scoop" Podcast on your favorite podcasting platform. Also follow him on Twitter: @DWolfsonKSTP
In episode 33 of the Minnesota Sports Fan Podcast, Eric tries to get some positivity out of Brandon but without much success.
First, we discuss what Netflix, Porn, and Sports News all have in common (you don’t want to miss this convo).
With the Vikings struggling and a questionable future for basketball and hockey in this town, Brandon is ready to give up. Eric reminds him that Minnesota has always been like this (in case he forgot). Why these expectations now?
A win in Seattle would make Brandon feel a lot better but can the Vikings make it happen so they can turn the narrative? How does the rest of the schedule look? What are the chances they do or don’t make the playoffs? We dig into all of those topics.
After a 6-2 start, Brandon is still questioning Richard Pitino’s team so Eric tries to set him straight there too. But he has his own worries. How does Richard fill in for the lack of 3-point shooting and PG play? We discuss.
Are the Timberwolves really as good as they’ve been playing the last few weeks, since Jimmy Butler’s departure? Even Andrew Wiggins seems to have figured things out lately, What is the Timberwolves ceiling? Is this a team that can one-day compete in the West? We discuss that too.
We briefly take some time to talk Gopher Football too. There are some interesting wrinkles to this matchup at Ford Field vs the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, who still run an archaic offense that will cause PJ and Co. to lose out on some very important practice time with his defense.
BUT, between all of this fluff, we also found time to talk about some of the real questions that have plagued society for decades. That topics this week...
Have you/would you EVER use your girlfriend’s deodorant, if in a bind? Our answer might surprise you....
What a show. What a life.
After an unsuccessful attempt at recording early Tuesday morning the MSF Podcast crew was back at it for episode 32. It isn’t always easy but we grind it out for you guys. But enough about our heroism, it was a big weekend.
We start with the Gopher football team, who finally brought Paul Bunyan’s Axe back to Minneapolis after 15 years of building up layers of cheese dust (not the good kind created by eating too many cheese balls — it’s more of a layer of a dust-type mold that smells like framented cheese).
The victory completely changes the narrative of the offseason for PJ Fleck and his young football team.
The Vikings also won a big game vs a disgusting Wisconsin team. But, it’s far from celebration time at US Bank Stadium. In a jammed up NFC, the Vikings need to win some tough games to guarantee their playoff hopes and dreams.
We talk about what it’ll take.
It starts with a win in Foxborough this Sunday afternoon vs the legendary New England Patriots. Can the Vikings upset Brady and Belechick? We line the two teams up side-by-side and look at the “tale of the tape” to see if the SKOL stand a chance.
Please subscribe to the MSF Podcast on your favorite listening platforms. We appreciate you.
It was a big day for Minnesota sports on Sunday. 4 major-market teams were in-action and Eric thought it would be fun to place wagers on said events...
...he finds out again the hard way that he should never bet on anything because the world is against him, and especially not on Minnesota teams. They are way too good at letting us down for free, to trust them with money on the line.
He bet on all 4 teams and only got as good as a push on his betting ticket. We talk about that, along with all of the teams he bet on.
The Wolves fell back to reality after winning three-straight since shaking Jimmy Butler’s deep-dark shadow.
The Wild lost their 2nd-in-a-row, after being the hottest team in hockey over the last 10 games.
The Vikings are trying to throw this season away after losing to the Trubisky-led Chicago Bears. (This topic has Brandon ready to throw himself off of his 2nd story balcony.)
Finally, we get to some winning as Richard Pitino has his squad off to a 3-0 start as they knock on the door of the top-25 ratings.
Minnesota sports might be depressing and we’re in the gutter with you. I assure you that listening to us cry into the microphone will make you feel better about where your own life is.
PLEASE SUBSCRIBE ON YOUR FAVORITE PODCASTING OUTLET. WE APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT!
On the latest episode of the Minnesota Sports Fan Podcast, we start with Joe Mauer’s retirement press conference where he thanked everyone in the state of Minnesota by name. Brandon can’t handle all of the Thank you’s and almost quits the podcast on the spot.
Meanwhile, everyone in Minnesota is celebrating Jimmy Butler’s departure and thankful for the haul the Timberwolves received in return from Philly. However, little does everyone seem to know that this trade has cemented the Wolves foreseeable future in mediocrity, which will bring down any hope that we once had with Towns, Wiggins and LaVine.
We find plenty of time to discuss everything else going on in Minnesota sports, including the Vikings mid-season playoff stretch they are about to face, along with the Wild’s hot streak and a little Gopher Basketball with them playing a HUGE game against Utah on Monday night.
Take it in. This seems to be one of the only places you can find truth and honesty in Minnesota sports.
We are bringing heavy optimism for Episode 29!
The Timberwolves have been losing and that’s something that we should be happy about. The NBA Draft is loaded at the front end and being there to snag a future star is the only hope the Wolves have at a future.
We also may have found some inside-the-locker-room footage that shows how bad the dysfunction is and how badly Dwight.. I mean KAT.. wants “Jim” out of town.... We also find out something new about KAT and his obsession with Derrick Rose.
We Segway to Gopher Basketball where we discuss how good that team is going to be and the surprise they are going to bring to the Big Ten.
We come back in the second segment and we discuss how good the Vikings defense looked before getting sidetracked by the most classic Brandon sex story I have in the memory bank... there are too many to be comfortable with...
Eventually, we get back to the Vikes before moving on to our newly found hockey expertise. Will the Wild make this a year to finally remember in the professional state of hockey?
What a show!
On episode 28 of the Minnesota Sports Fan Podcast, we were able to talk to Minnesota hockey legend Pat Micheletti about his fascinating career. From his LEGENDARY Gopher career to his time with the North Stars and pro time across the pond. It was absolutely incredible. It wasn’t just a trip down memory lane, however. He also talked with us about the state of SCSU hockey now that Bob Motzko is gone and gives us some in-depth analysis on the Minnesota Wild. The whole conversation was awesome.
Outside of our chat with Mr. Micheletti, Brandon and I listen to a couple of videos that I found on the internet on Tuesday.
Shaq reveals a major conspiracy that sent him to Orlando instead of the Timberwolves and the Vikings made a PC internet cartoon that almost makes us not want to be fans anymore... it’s really bad.
After that, we dug into the Gopher basketball team, which tips off its season in a week. How big of a deal is Marcus Carr’s transfer waiver? Who else will lead the team?
Eric believes the Gophers are going to shock the Big Ten. Come hear him state his case!
On episode 27 of the Minnesota Sports Fan Podcast, we discuss another Vikings victory. Brandon is in the boat with one leg still out while Eric is driving.
Also, why does the NFL hate Adam Thielen so much? It can’t be his skin color can it........... nah...
Eric tries to talk about the other MN Sports and gets a little bit in on the Gopher Basketball and Football team but Brandon isn’t really having it.
We have a new segment on Fantasy Football winners and losers called “Fuck You, Thank You and Thank GOD Players of the Week”. Who is happy they waited until the 11th round to draft a quarterback? Spoiler Alert: EVERYONE
We finish with more Vikings talk. What do the Vikings have to do to get Brandon and others fully on-board? ANSWER: Beat the Saints this weekend on Sunday Night Football.
The Minnesota Vikings get their second victory in a row and are giving us all hope again.
Brandon and Eric host a postgame Sunday special where we look at what’s different about the Vikings the last couple of weeks. It was the tail of two halves as the Vikings prove that they need a running game and a functional offensive line if they are going to make hay this season and make the Super Bowl run we are all salivating over...
We look at the schedule going forward too.
We finish with more Jimmy Butler drama as more news dropped on Sunday. It looks like Jimmy will be playing this season... at least to start. Brandon comes out in favor of what Jimmy is doing while Eric argues that he is going about it the wrong way...
What kind of team will we see this season... that’s where the truth will lie.
Finally we finish with a Gopher Football team that actually looked really good against the 3rd ranked Ohio State team this weekend. There is hope on the horizon.
The title pretty much sums up this episode. Little Brother Caleb joins the show for the first time as he tries to prove his manhood.
The Vikings have us back to feeling like it’s “Super Bowl Home-Boy” after Kirk Cousins and his receiving core led the team to victory last week over the reining Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles. With two bad teams on the schedule in back to back weeks, it’s time to make hay now. That shouldn’t be too difficult but the Bills loss still have us thinking cautiously...
We tried to skip the Jimmy Butler topic but it’s hard to avoid since he continually tries to push the Timberwolves franchise even deeper into the oblivion it’s been in since the franchise was founded. Sadly, we are staring at another decade of bullshit for our favorite basketball team unless Thibs can somehow find a horseshoe up his ass and pull a miracle out behind it.
Thibs, however, has shown 0 signs of being capable of such sorcery...
We founds some time for Gopher football, who are 30 point underdogs in Ohio State. The massive freshman RT, Daniel Faalele’s redshirt has been pulled. We discuss whether that’s a good or bad thing and whether or not the Gophers can cover a 30 point spread....
And with criticism being laid down by Pitino Sr., SO PG Isaiah Washington is being questioned. Is he really the future at PG for this team? Is he even the current one? Rumors are being thrown around and we have them all covered!
It’s an action-packed show, fam. Don’t miss out!
What a week it's been since episode 23... We're breaking it all down. And our new producer, Lance Bass-Wiczek adds a whole new dimension to the show!
How much trouble are the Vikings in as they enter Philadelphia this weekend? Is it a must-win game? We discuss our panic levels... let's just say that the Vikings REALLY need to win.
Jimmy Butler is whining and nobody cares. How should Thibs handle it? Unlike most, we discuss how incredibly well he's dealing with this situation so far. But, things could get awkward very quickly this week...
Does Joe Mauer retire? Should he? How does he not after game 162, where he had the best "going away" ceremony possibly in history?
Paul Molitor got the ax. Was it the right move? Did Falvine do it the right way? Who is on their list for new candidates? We break it all down.
Why some blockbuster moves this offseason could push the Twins into the upper-tier of the MLB very quickly but the Twins won't do it.
We finish the show with a quick roundup of everything else that's relevant in MN Sports, including Gopher Football struggles, Gopher Basketball getting underway, and the Minnesota Wild start their season this week!
This might be our most fire episode yet....
In our 23rd installment, sports talk around town is slightly upsetting so we mix in some things that really matter. Do we live in the best generation ever for pizza lovers who don’t have any money? Have you ever gotten drunk and ran a 100 yard dash in your birthday suit on a D2 college football field?
The answers are yes and....... Plus, if anyone has college stories that beat a nude 100 yard dash drunken escapade, it’s Brandon.
We eventually turn to sports.....
How nervous are we for the Vikings? Is this going to be a classic letdown year like we’ve seen so many times (most recently 2016 and 2010)? Or, are the Vikings going to be able to put all of the off-field distractions behind them and take care of business in LA?
Speaking of the off-field situations surrounding the team, we do get serious as we talk about the scary status of Everson Griffen and we remind people that nobody is safe from mental health issues and those who struggle should not be ashamed to find help. People care about you.
Then, we finish the show with a good half hour of Jimmy Butler talk. Has the Twitter world gone insane in their hate for Tom Thibodeau? Who’s shoulders does all of the drama fall on? Who should get the blame? And, no matter how you feel about all of that, you should still want to get as much as you can back for Jimmy Butler, now that moving him is inevitable.
It was a packed show full of ups and downs.... and pizza.... and nude 100 yard dashes..... what else could you want in a sports podcast?
With a new football season upon us and a break to clear our minds, the old “No Shirts, Just Skins” hosts are back with a rebranded podcast name. The “Minnesota Sports Fan Podcast” is here. Eric and Brandon still host and episode one of the rebrand may show they are better than ever!
We start with a quick recap from Brandon’s Las Vegas trip where Canadians and backside tattoos may or may not have happened... We quickly move onto the Vikings and continued kicking problems. We have some things to say for those feeling bad for Daniel. Eric strikes from even mentioning WR #11 by name....
But, when it comes to Mike Zimmer’s clock management at the end of the game, things get a little heated between the two hosts.
We move past that eventually and onto Gopher Football, in the second half of the show, where Eric is flexing his Zack Annexstad muscles. We also decide, after looking at the schedule, that the Gophers should finish the year with A LOT more wins than many will give them. It’s time to change our culture, as fans
Then, before we close things out:
Will the Jimmy Butler situation ever get better? Who is to blame?
Will Joe Mauer play in 2019? How quickly can the Twins turn things around after another terrible season?
Could 2019 be the recruiting class that turns Gopher Basketball around?
It’s a packed show and we had a hell of a time recording it. If we’re having fun then you’re having fun, right??? Come find out!
We are talking a lot of Vikings football as we return to the studio better than ever!
After quick-hitting all of the other Minnesota topics we move on to your fantasy football draft strategy and what it should look like.
Fantasy Football Draft Strategy:
Now that the NBA and NHL seasons are over, we start episode 20 with some FANTASY FOOTBALL quick tips on your draft research as we creep toward August.
We also argue about Terrell Owens vs. the NFL HOF. Is TO doing the right thing? Should he have been a 1st ballot guy?
Then, we hit both Gopher and Vikings Football hard. Is P.J. Fleck the savior of what Gopher Football should have always been? Will he stay after success? Are we sure he will have success?
How much will the Vikings pay Anthony Barr to keep him here? Does he deserve $10M like Kendricks? How big of an impact does Mike Hughes make right away in the secondary?
Lastly, we touch on the top stories for the Twins (who may never be the team we once dreamed of), Wild (who we expect big moves from this offseason), the Timberwolves (and if Thibs is running this franchise into the ground to be buried for good), and Gopher Baseball (which will hopefully have games left after Saturday).
It’s Minnesota sports at its best!
It’s the middle of the sports abyss but we still find some topics. Like, what are the Timberwolves going to do with Tom Thibodeau. Does he have to go if KAT is going to stay? If he goes, does Butler go too? It’s scary right now at the Mayo Center.
We also discuss the disappointment so far in the Twins’ season and all of the injuries plaguing another promising Minnesota sports team.
The Gophers also got their last basketball recruit for 2018. How good will they be? High expectations? Probably not.... thankfully.
We’re back and we are talking all things Minnesota sports but stop to take a hard look at what the hell is going on at the Mayo Center with the Timberwolves. Reports have him throwing computers through glass windows while arguing with Scott Layden. Is it time for Thibs to go?
Richard Pitino needed a big month to make up for everything he lost after a disappointing season. He’s done just that as he has grabbed two huge transfers for 2019, picked up two assistant coaches that some say are upgrades to who left him. AND, Monday he will ink his last scholarship available for 2018.
We also touch on Gopher football, softball, and the Twins of course!
We are just days away from Brandon’s favorite time of the year and if we wouldn’t have dedicated half the show to the NFL Draft, he might have exploded. So, we have your draft preview from a Vikings’ fan perspective right here (as always).
Meanwhile, the Wild are out of the playoffs so we don’t need to pretend we know hockey anymore. The Timberwolves, however, have swung the momentum in their first round matchup against the Houston Rockets, after a big game 3 victory (HOU now leads 2-1), and now look to even things up on Monday night before heading back to Houston.
We discuss whether they have a shot to make that happen.

We are talking Timberwolves and whether they actually stand a chance vs the Rockets (p.s.: Eric thinks they do).
We also discuss how good the Gopher Football team seems to be coming along as Fleck starts to fill the locker room with his guys.
Meanwhile, Coach Pitino can’t keep assistant coaches around lately and that makes us REALLY nervous about what’s happening with the basketball team internally.
We mix in some Wild, Twins and Brandon’s MANY complaints about the weather this wonderful April weekend.
What a show we have for you this week!
Minnesota Timberwolves/Lynx Web Manager/Editor (more titles means more important) and my old friend, Kyle Ratke joins the show to talk about how successful he is. Just Kidding (he’s too nice for that). We get his inside knowledge on some of the big questions about the Timberwolves as the playoffs quickly approach. We’re asking all the tough questions and Ratke answers MOST of them...
But first, we talk the Twins and the excitement around this season and some questionable decisions made by Paul Molitor in game 1 earlier this week.
We also call Hockey-Guy, Zak Klosowski (after some technical difficulties), and he makes us a lot smarter about the current state of the Wild as we enter the playoffs, the Bob Motzko Moving trucks routing from St. Cloud to Minneapolis, and the game of hockey in general.
It was jam-packed and we had fun!
The change in the sports culture around Minnesota is starting to blossom.
The Vikings go all in with Kirk Cousins while solidifying the D-Line. They've also opened 2 national benchmark facilities in the last 3 years.
The Twins are spending their most $$$ ever, while bringing in LEGIT free agents to bolster one of the best young offenses in the MLB.
The Timberwolves and Wild are playoff bound, not to mention some of the recruiting that is happening at the college level.
Oh, and Eric had a new baby last weekend. It's a boy.
PJ Fleck and The Ultimate Warrior have Brandon feeling ELITE... or ULTIMATE??? Might have to go to our YouTube page to WATCH the podcast for that!
However, there isn't much going on in the Gopher Football world so we stick to what EVERYONE in Minnesota is talking about: THE VIKINGS QB SITUATION.
We also do our first "Ice Cold Hockey Calls" Segment where we get Hunter on the second try and talk some PUCK with him!
"No Shirts, Just Skins" is LIVE to talk about ANOTHER huge offseason signing for the Twins and Jimmy Butler's secret meniscus injury/surgery!
Send questions/comments via FB/Twitter/Spreaker and we'll address them during the show!
Late Saturday, the Twins actually went out and made a move for a legitimate front-end starter. That's what we spend the first 45 minutes discussing. Then, in the last 20 minutes, we talk about the dumpster fire that is the 2017-18 Gopher Basketball season, but we look forward to a near-future that could be more promising than any we've ever seen as Minnesota Basketball fans.
Oh, and Brandon actually lives up to the hype and goes shirtless for the entire hour.... that's right ladies.
We dig DEEP into whether or not Kirk Cousins is even a tp-15 QB, let alone a guy that's worth $110M GUARANTEED. Some people in this town are getting delusional.
We finish with some inspiring talk about the local basketball teams. Things aren't as bad as they seem for the Wolves or the Gophers.
Hockey talk nwxt time.....
@TheJohnnyMN and @Cofell_Official are in the studio with us we are trying to move on from the Vikings' loss to the Eagles and try to look toward 2018. Meanwhile, Brandon has completely given up on Minnesota Sports, in general. While we try to deal with his negativity, we also try to find answers for the offseason, including where we go at QB. We even take a stab at building a roster for next year.
To finish things off, we even touch on the Duke Basketball Team and their likely cheating ways. Hell, everyone is doing it.

We talk about the upcoming Vikings vs Eagles Playoff game. Oddly, Eric seems to be more nervous than Brandon and Johnny.
We are talking Vikings-Saints as we lead into a weekend of craziness. The National outlets all pick the Saints apparently, while Vegas continues to bet on the #SKOL.
AND we tell you why Vegas is RIGHT and the national outlets are ALL WRONG. This game isn't even going to be close, folks.
In the last 25 minutes, we discuss the Reggie Lynch situation and even get into the millenial hunting generation... or lack-there-of.
We are back for our 6th installment of "No Shirts, Just Skins" to talk Vikings Divisional Round now that their opponent is official.
We are talking all things Vikings in our first LIVE podcast after the Vikings just stomped the Bears in Week 17 and earned a first round bye in the playoffs!
Brandon is back and we talk Vikings and how we aren’t afraid of any teams in the NFC but discuss who we’d like to play the least. Oh, and we also piss and moan about the lack of Vikings represented in the Pro Bowl.
We discuss our ROWING with PJ Fleck as we WORSHIP his recruiting prowess and shame those who hate on him. We also shame those who are minute-watching the Timberwolves
It’s and ELITE episode.
We had one more week of a shirts-on podcast, while Brandon recovers from his CA trip. Eric is ranting again. This time, he's defending Thibs, and his excessive minute designations.
He stops complaining and we talk some Twins offseason moves in the second segment. We even SQUEEZE in a little Vikings' talk but we all know the outcome of that game. #SKOL win BIG.
Brandon is shirtless in San Diego somewhere, so Johnny Minnesota takes his spot as we talk the Vikings and our playoff dreams/nightmares. We also chat Fantasy Football league dilemmas and end with a HUGE WEEKEND for Gopher Football recruiting.
We have some fun in our first full-length podcast.
In the first half of the show we talk the state of Gopher Basketball and Football along with our love for both coaches compared to those who came before them.
In the second half Eric flip-flops on Teddy vs Case and we talk the Vikings' chances for home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.
The entire time, Brandon is battling sickness but NOT the restriction of a shirt.
Music by Mike Schpitz and Phys Edison: Sly and The Family Jones
We got things going in our long-anticipated podcast. We talk 15 minutes of Eric's STRONG stance against Ricky Rubio and his obsession with Bridgewater over Keenum.
You also get to meet Brandon...........
