Former Mayor John J. Duran is a native Angeleno and a resident of West Hollywood since 1990. He has been an elected member of the City Council since 2001. Duran has a Juris Doctorate degree from Western State University College of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from CSU Long Beach. He has been a lawyer in private practice since 1987. Segment One – We have Laurie McBride phoning into the studio. Laurie became the executive director of the LIFE Lobby in 1990 and was there for the infamous veto of AB 101 on Septmeber 29, 1991. She was the face of LGBT Californians during the 90’s before there were any LGBT legislators in place.
Segment Two- Dave Isay, who is the founder of “Story Corps” in New York City will be joining us. He is now documenting first hand interviews of those who were apart of Stonewall or “Stonewall Out Loud.” This project will be stored at the Library of Congress archives.
Segment Three – The cast of Shooting Star and Florian Klein will be joining us in studio. Shooting star has opened at the Hudson Theatre which is a cross between the musical and gay porn industry.
