Meet Belinda Gore Ph.D.
Teacher, Psychologist, Coach, Artist, Author, And Speaker

As a psychologist with graduate degrees in counseling psychology and in public administration, Belinda’s career has covered a private practice in psychotherapy, working as a leadership consultant, and teaching executive and life coaching. When she met anthropologist Felicitas Goodman in 1984, she was introduced to the artwork and religious worldview of indigenous people around the world. Through Dr. Felicitas Goodman’s student, friend, and colleague; she learned to use ritual ancient postures from that art to restore a fundamental human capacity for experiencing the invisible world of spirit. For many years she served as Vice-President, then President, of the Cuyamungue Institute, founded by Dr. Goodman.

Her books, Ancient Ritual Postures (2FriendsPress, 2020), The Ecstatic Experience: Healing Postures for Spirit Journeys (Bear & Company, 2009), and Ecstatic Body Postures: An Alternate Reality Workbook (Bear & Company, 1995) are essential materials for learning the practice of ritual postures. They are the foundation for the workshops she has been teaching internationally for the past 30 years. The books have been translated into German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Polish.

Her study of Jungian psychology began in college and she became a member of the Jung Association of Central Ohio from its inception in 1990. For decades she taught dreamwork, as professional education for psychotherapists and general techniques for the general public. Dreamwork was the basis for early exploration in expressive arts with an emphasis on collage as well as mask-making and dance.

Currently, she teaches coaching based on the Enneagram system of personality typology and spiritual development while continuing to explore various process media as an artist and write about ritual postures, the Enneagram, and the spiritual journey.

Welcome to another episode in the “Women in Psychedelics" series. This podcast series does an amazing job of telling the stories of fascinating women who are currently making an impact within the psychedelic and plant healing movement.

My intention for this series is to further amplify female voices within this space. I am driven by bringing to the forefront untold stories, exclusive content, and inspiration. This month to me is about offering and celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and sometimes the unseen achievements of women in this psychedelic renaissance.

Part five in the Series “Women in Psychedelics” I have invited Lorraine Glatigny is a Western healer and sacred medicine woman who is committed to her work and creates a bridge between traditional medicine from the Amazonian forest and the ancient knowledge of European medicine that we have forgotten.

In 2008, life brought her to the Amazon to meet the shamans in the Peruvian Amazonian forest. There she discovered the traditional medicine of the Shipibo ethnic groups where they heal with plants and hold ceremonies by using Ayahuasca, a psychoactive plant. In 2010, she did a one-year learning diet, as it is traditionally done in the Amazon. She was given a Western plant, which allowed her to reconnect with the medicinal plants of Europe.

She was thought by Panshin Beka a “Muraya” woman, a title given to the most advanced level of Shipibo medicine, with whom she performed several diets and a long stay in the Amazon rainforest. Through the diet, Panshin Beka was passed on her knowledge of how to enter into a direct energetic relationship with plants and treat clients by singing sacred songs called Icaro’s.

She also studied with traditional Filipino healers who passed on her the oldest practice of healing, the "Hilot", therapeutic massage. Met the Queeros, the last Peruvian Andes descended from the Incas. She lived among the Tao't Batu (people of the rock) in the Philippines, one of the few tribes isolated from the rest of the country, where her integration was possible because they recognized her as a healer.

Today she facilitates ceremonies, healing journeys, dietas with and without psychoactive plants.

This guided Mindfulness meditation is one of my favorite grounding practices, it's an adaptation from "The Mountain Meditation" by Jon Kabat-Zinn. It encourages us to seek inner stability and peace, even in the face of unpredictable change and chaos.
