It seems like just about every sin is openly encouraged in our society now. However, I think there is one that still correctly receives a healthy discouragement and condemnation of. What makes this sin so special? Well, in a sense, nothing.

(Spoiler Warning!) Is there a deeper meaning to the Marvel productions of late? Are there seeds that are being planted into the minds of the viewers?
Why is Marvel creating good villains, but insufficient heroes? We explore all of this. We look at why the main Marvel villains are wrong. The risk of a villain being motivated by a good cause but having an evil solution. Popular culture productions are important to analyze, as they are a powerful force of swaying the mind and the culture. As Christians we have to compare the stories of our day to the ideal of Christ, to the story of God's grand divine drama.

Many issues within the public discourse come from fundamentally different views of history. Can the gospel give us a fair and comprehensive view of history? In today's episode I explore the question of what does the gospel have to say about how we view and judge our own history? Plus, the Catholic church in the U.S. is talking about denying the communion to Catholic Democrats who support abortion! Where is this coming from, and what does this show about the Protestant church? Lastly, the folk country music singer Willi Carlisle blessed us with his song "Angels." Listen as I analyze why it is one of the most Christian songs of the last few years. Strap in for this marathon podcast.

I want to hear your thoughts on all of this. Do you agree or disagree? Let me know in the comments or reach out to me on social media. If you enjoyed, then please like, comment, and share!

Day to day, we often try to forget about the evil and suffering around us in the world until one day it gets close to us and we assess our own beliefs. Assessing our own beliefs on this issue often involves asking where God is in all of this.
In this talk I offer a way to think about how God can allow evil and suffering, but more importantly I highlight the strength of Christianity when faced with this issue, because it addresses the deepest desire of our souls when we experience it.

Send in your questions about the talk and any general questions you have about Christianity!

Today's society has distracted us from considering death, what may be beyond, and what our view of death means for our lives today. In this episode I urge listeners to consider what death means for them and what may come after. On top of that, assess your own worldview and see if it lives up to the experiences that we know are true. I also talk about an interesting story about Trump's "scandalous" comments on evangelicals, or not so much. Finally, I pose a question to those who have worked in ministry for mentally handicapped people.

For the first time that I can remember, it has been harder to find good reasons today to celebrate America during the 4th of July season. I've learned about American history for a good portion of my life, but more so since I've gone to college. After what I have learned so far, I think this is a truly incredible country. It was founded on principles that were ahead of their times, and it was these principles that allowed America to grow and become a leader.
0:00 Intro/difficult to celebrate America in these times
5:22 What about America's birth made it special, and how Americans used the system to end their oppression
16:21 What has separated America from the world

I would really like to push unity, so I found it more appropriate to focus on the greatness of America. I invite anyone who is pro-choice to hear my case for life and against abortion. I first address the discussion of is a preborn child/fetus a human life and does life begin at conception. Then, I refute common abortion arguments. Finally, I show you a side of the abortion industry that the pro-choice side likes to downplay. If you are pro-life, take these arguments to heart and use them when in discussion with pro-choice individuals. If you are pro-choice and disagree, then tell me what I get wrong. You've heard the typical Christian view on government usually cited from Romans 13:1-7, but today I want to challenge that simplistic view by looking at what else the Bible has to say about the government; the most prominent example that I refer to may surprise you. I then take this new outlook on government to interpret how we should act in the middle of the government suddenly amassing great power.

A point of clarification: for the mayor of Chicago said not to go out and get a haircut. She went out to get a haircut. I realize I said just getting a haircut.

0:00 Intro
5:13 Comprehensive Biblical view of government
23:34 This view applied to today and current events
29:13 Explaining the cruelties of government overreach
41:07 What does this all mean for us as Christians?

The waters of our future are quite murky. Nonetheless, I think as Christians we are called to being a good and loving presence in this world. Being that in times like these may become difficult. I hope that as we go forward we can prepare ourselves for giving up more for the sake of following Christ. I also tell you about some good news going on in the world. Lastly, I rant about how capitalism is much better in times like these rather than socialism, which some don't seem to think.

In his book, "The World Beyond Your Head," Matthew B. Crawford explains the root of how our society ticks and then how we tick is detrimental to us. I flesh out these ideas within a Christian worldview to assess why the younger generations are experiencing more depression, anxiety, and loneliness. There are three major factors to these trends, so tune in to find out. I also discuss whether or not Jesus would vote for Bernie Sanders if He were alive today. I clarify points that i made in the last podcast, and a viewer sheds more light on the subject of episode 3.

Today I try my best to think through the implications of God's attributes with regards to our own will. Do we have free will? If so, how much? Or do we have none at all? How can we trust the time gap between Jesus' life and the writing of the gospels?
