We broadcast panel discussions from our Monthly #SocEnt: Capitol Innovation Forums held every fourth Sunday at Busboys & Poets in Brookland, Washington, DC. We also conduct sit-down interviews with community leaders, policy-makers, individuals who were incarcerated and many more.
Film-maker/producer Charles Mwalimu talks with Matt about his short film 'Finesse Life'. Finesse Life shines a light on materialism and the lack of resources within the black community while touching on relevant topics such as 'gun control' and easy access to firearms.

DC native Sharnaye Raiford is the founder of 'A Little More Love', an initiative that provides "creative spaces" for high school students in DC who are children of incarcerated parents. Sharnaye opens up about her upbringing and experiences as a 16-year-old in DC. She also speaks on her relationship with her father (currently serving a 10-year sentence). Sharnaye is a 2016 LearnServe Intl. Innovation Award recipient.
Sean spent a total of 27 years in state and federal prison. He recently just graduated from the University of Chicago and is now considering pursuing a Ph.D. Sean provides first-person insight into the U.S. prison system and his upbringing in St. Louis; from task force targeting, to resources, to recidivism. January’s SocEnt: Capitol Innovation Forum: Gentrification: The Good, The Bad, and the Incarcerated, explored the intersection of gentrification, poverty, and the criminal justice system. The panel featured activists, economic developers, and policy experts who will discuss the effects of gentrification on low-income communities.
