In this episode of the Business God's Way podcast, Jeff explores the story of John the Baptist from the book of John, chapter 3. He delves into how John the Baptist's humility and understanding of his role in God's plan can serve as a lesson for entrepreneurs. Jeff challenges listeners to shift their focus from competition and jealousy to paving the way for Jesus in their businesses.

Key Takeaways:1. Humility Over Competition: John the Baptist teaches us the importance of humility in acknowledging that all we have is a gift from God. This principle is crucial in business, where competition and jealousy can easily cloud our judgment. 2. Understanding Your Role: John knew his role was to prepare the way for Jesus, not to be the main event. Similarly, entrepreneurs should understand their role in God's bigger plan and focus on fulfilling that purpose. 3. The Joy of Decreasing: John found joy in seeing Jesus' ministry take the forefront, understanding that he must decrease for Jesus to increase. This perspective can bring peace and joy to business owners as they see others succeed in their respective callings. 4. Focus on Kingdom Impact: The ultimate goal should be to make a Kingdom impact through your business. This means laying aside distractions and comparisons to focus on what God has called you to do.

This episode serves as a reminder that our businesses are not about us but about paving the way for Jesus. As you navigate the challenges and opportunities in your entrepreneurial journey, may you find joy in decreasing so that He may increase. Stay focused on the mission God has given you, and remember, it's all for His glory. If you have any questions or prayer requests, feel free to reach out to Jeff on Instagram at Jeff Elder BGW. In this deeply personal and transformative episode, Jeff takes listeners through his journey of finding purpose and strength in his faith, particularly after hitting a low point in his life and business. After attending a Christian men's retreat, he realigned his spiritual and business paths, leading to the birth of "Business God's Way". Today, Jeff's mission is to guide other Christian entrepreneurs to integrate God into their business practices rather than pushing Him out, and thereby avoid the pitfalls of straying from divine guidance.

Main Takeaways:

  1. Turning Point: Jeff attended a Christian men's retreat at his lowest, which became his turning point. There, he felt God's forgiveness and a renewed motivation to mend their relationship, despite the challenges along the way.
  2. God’s Way in Business: Jeff believes that integrating God's guidance into business practices is crucial. His business name, "Business God's Way," resulted from this revelation, emphasizing the importance of letting divine wisdom lead entrepreneurial journeys.
  3. Understanding Missteps: Even as he strives to follow the divine path, Jeff acknowledges the occasional faltering and the vital ability to recognize when he has not included God in his daily business decisions. He underscores the importance of acknowledging such moments as a key part of spiritual growth.
  4. The Purpose of Challenges: Following God's way does not eliminate problems or challenges. However, it means understanding that one is walking with God, who will provide the necessary support and guidance through difficulties.

To wrap up, Jeff shares his main lessons: God will make a way when there seems to be none; one should pursue God in everything to avoid destructive paths; and doing business God's way by allowing God to lead is essential. He reminds his listeners of their individual purpose and encourages them to trust, turn to, and embrace God even when life seems hopeless. His final message remains, "Continue to do business God's way."

In today's episode, Jeff explores the significance of Proverbs 16:9 and how it relates to planning in business. He reminds us to trust in the Lord to establish our steps and direct us on the right path.

Key Points:

  • Proverbs 16:9 states, "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps."
  • While planning is essential for entrepreneurs, we must remember to trust in God's direction and guidance.

  • Initially, Jeff used to dump all his desires on God, but now he seeks an intimate relationship with the Lord and lets Him place the desires in his heart.
  • God's desires are far greater than any human desire we can manufacture.
  • Seeking God first and making His desires our own leads to answered prayers.
  • Sometimes God may say no to our desires or refine/change them, but it's all for our good and His glory.
  • Jeff encourages listeners to delight themselves in the Lord and ask Him to give them the desires He has for them.

Welcome to Business God's Way, a podcast that equips Christian entrepreneurs to build successful businesses that honor God and positively impact the world.

In this episode, we explore the intersection of wisdom and business, drawing insights from James 1:5.

We begin by discussing the importance of wisdom in business. As Christian entrepreneurs, we know that our faith should guide everything we do, including our businesses. Wisdom is essential for decision-making, problem-solving, and leadership. By seeking Godly wisdom, we can make wise decisions that align with our values and goals, build successful and fulfilling businesses that honor God, and positively impact the world.

We then turn to James 1:5, which reminds us that wisdom comes from God and that we can ask Him for it at any time. We discuss the biblical basis for seeking wisdom and the importance of having faith when we ask for it. We offer practical tips for incorporating prayer, Bible study, and seeking advice from other wise and experienced Christians into our daily business practices. By making seeking Godly wisdom a regular practice in our businesses, we can experience the benefits of improved decision-making, stronger relationships with customers and employees, and a greater sense of purpose and fulfillment.

Join us in this episode as we explore the intersection of wisdom and business, and learn how seeking Godly wisdom can help us build successful and fulfilling businesses that honor God and positively impact the world.

Burnout and fatigue are real things, and often we don't realize how close or how far into either one of them we are until it's too late.

In today's episode, Jeff discusses the need to step away, change our routine, reconnect with God, and make this a habit.

If we don't make "getting away" a habit, we run the risk of limiting our impact and putting our mental and emotional health at risk. Even Jesus needed His time away from His "ordinary" daily routine to spend it reconnecting with the Father.

Is it time for you to outsource some of the tasks in your business?

Join me to learn more about when it may be time to outsource some of the non-revenue producing tasks inside your business. You can only do so much, and your business will grow to the point of whether or not you have a great team around you to support you.

In this episode, you will learn a few key lessons about when it's time to make the decision to outsource in your business:

  • Ask yourself this: what are the things in your business that need to get done, but you do not have to be the one to do them?
  • Keep track of your time and make a list of things you do daily that could be tasked to someone else.
  • Pray to God and ask Him to send you the right team to help. He will provide!

I pray that you and I will continue to focus on the revenue generating activities in our businesses and outsource the tasks that will help us grow exponentially!

Do you fully understand your purpose? If you do not know your purpose, you do not fully understand your potential.

Join me to learn more about the concept of purpose-driven potential. Jesus is the One who changes our hearts, our lives, our direction, and gives us true purpose.

In this episode, you will learn more on how to understand your God-given purpose:

  • You are worthy because God sent His only son to die for you.
  • Your life has value because you were created in the image of God.
  • Your struggles in life are to help shape and mold you more into the image of Christ.
  • You have a great purpose and great potential, and God has equipped you for everything that lies ahead of you.

Outside of God there is no purpose and there is no potential, but WITH God there is absolute purpose and absolute potential.

I pray that no matter the circumstances we may face today that we believe and have faith that our business will make an impact through our unique God-given purpose. All things are possible with Him!

How well do faith and business merge together?

Join me to learn more about my personal journey of business, ministry, and the merging of the two together. It was not an easy process for me, and there was a time I felt like I had missed what God had for me, but I finally realized that my business is a platform for the gospel...and yours is too.

In this episode, you will learn how your business can be used for the gospel:

  • Your ministry is not limited to the four walls of the church.
  • When our business is our ministry, we can serve, love, and minister to others.
  • God calls entrepreneurs to serve in the marketplace.
  • God can use us to transform client's lives through our businesses.

I pray that we would take hold of that reality and walk in the truth that God can use our businesses as a platform for the gospel.

Romans 8:28 is perhaps one of the most quoted verses in the entire Bible. And rightfully so. It's an amazing promise that we come back to time and time again. But Romans 8:28 is only half of the story and if we miss Romans 8:29, we miss the entire purpose of what God is actually "working together for our good." Having a clear understanding of these two verses will have a profound impact on you and your business. The people we have been called to serve in business are constantly telling us what they want and need. They are also sharing with us their dreams, aspirations, challenges, and roadblocks. The question is are we listening to them? When we are able to hear them it allows us to create compelling stories that will resonate with them and draw them in. It will also help us know what products and/or services we need to be creating for them. In this episode, I will walk through 5 ways we can become more proactive in our listening abilities. The most common way we know to worship is standing at church on Sunday mornings reading the lyrics and singing along with the music. But there is much more to worship than that. Every time we offer up our bodies and sacrifice our own desires, plans, wants, and ambitions and walk in obedience, that is an act of worship that is acceptable to God. Romans 12:1 - I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

In today’s episode, I will walk through how Romans 12:1 applies to our work and how it is an act of worship. I will also provide a 3-step process for how to cultivate a work and worship mindset.

Verses Cited In this Episode

  • Romans 12:1
  • Ephesians 2:10
  • John 13:15

Growing as leaders and entrepreneurs is so essential and can have a huge impact on the success of both our personal and business life. One way we grow is through books. I don't need to state the obvious, but there is no shortage of business and personal development books on the market.

The flip side of that is not all of these books come from a Christian perspective. As Christians what do we do about that? Do we steer clear of any book that isn't written from a Christain perspective? Is it wrong for us to read those books?

In this episode, I will answer these questions and provide some tips on how to allow these books to still be of benefit while honoring the Lord.

What do you do when this happens? Many will just give up or move on to something else.

I want to present another alternative to just giving up. Keep going! There is something you can do about a sales page that is not converting.

It's so easy to lose our identity. And once we do we are heading for a world of hurt.

When we forget who we are in Christ and that he is the only person who can truly satisfy us we begin chasing after other things to take His place. The problem is that those things we chase leave us empty and disappointed in the end.

As entrepreneurs, it's very easy to chase after that "big client", status, popularity, or fill in the blank with whatever you may be pursuing after right now that is not Christ-focused.

The good news is that we no longer have to be slaves to those impulses. We can choose to anchor ourselves in Christ's identity.

In today’s episode, we'll discuss this new identity we have in Christ and how that plays out in the life of a Kingdompreneur.

You've worked hard at creating that great offer. You invested time, energy, and resources into it. But when you launch it...crickets. You keep watching and waiting for that first sale, and it never comes.

As entrepreneurs, we've all been there. I was in this same spot myself not too long ago and it stings. It really does.

I want to say something to you...you don't have to let it defeat you. You can get back up and try again. And I know you will. The reason I can say this is because you are a Kingdompreneur!

Comparison is something we all deal with at some point in our entrepreneurial journey. Some may deal with it more than others and how it impacts us can vary from person to person as well.

Comparison often stops us in our tracks and can get us off course. It can cause feelings of not being good enough, not having enough, guilt, or shame.

As Kingdompreneurs, it can also distract us from our calling and the enemy can often use comparison to rob us of our joy and keep us from having the impact God wants us to have in life and business.

I want us all to win over comparison so we can as my guest likes to say, "be who you were created to be and do what you were designed to do."

In today’s episode, Renee Vidor will share her 3-step process for how to WIN when it comes to comparison. She shares openly and honestly about her own journey with comparison, which led her to write her book and start the Winner Circle Community.

As leaders, our words have a lot of power. They can elevate a person or tear them down. They can leave a person feeling encouraged or hurt.

Leaders need to tame their tongues and watch what they say. Their speech needs to be seasoned with grace, love and controlled by wisdom. Our words need to be filled with life and not death. They need to be purposeful.

The book of Proverbs provides over 300 verses about our speech. It's an important discussion and one we need to lean in and hear.

In today’s episode, we will discuss the leader's priority of speaking wisdom and knowledge into the lives of those who we lead. Because when we do that is when we will see more impact.

One of the ways we glorify God is by imitating Him. And one of the ways we are called to imitate Him is in the leader's priority to plan.

God is a planner. We see evidence of this when God tells Jeremiah that He has plans for him (Jer. 29:11).

The book of Proverbs instructs us to be planners. Planners in our business, organization, and ministry. But we are called to plan differently than the world does.

In today’s episode, we will explore what the book of Proverbs has to say about how Godly leaders plan and the importance of bringing God and others into that planning.

The covenant of marriage is a sacred union between man and woman. It's a lifelong commitment to be faithful to one another and not allow the allure of another to break that sacred bond.

The book of proverbs is loaded with wise advice about remaining faithful in marriage and has some significant warnings for those to fail to heed the warning of the "adulterous".

In today's episode, we will listen in on some wise advice a father gives to his son about his priority to marriage, what happens if this advice is not followed, and how it relates to leadership.

The book of Proverbs is not only about how Christians can live wise lives, but it also reveals so much to us about how Christian leaders should conduct themself as such. The purpose of this series is to help us understand these principles so that we can become the leaders God wants us to become, so we can make the impact He wants us to have. We will talk specifically about the three areas of a leader that Proverbs addresses. These are the leader's priorities, plans, and speech. In today’s episode, we will look at the leader's priority to God and how that relationship is the beginning of true knowledge and that apart from Him all knowledge is meaningless. For some time I have wanted to start a Friday edition of the Business God's Way podcast. And today is the day! The Friday episodes will be more focused on Biblical discussions about leadership and entrepreneurship. And the Wednesday episodes will focus more on business growth strategies.

In today's episode, I'm going to kick off a series from the book of Proverbs. We will look at the leader (you) through the lens of Proverbs. In this series, we will look specifically at three aspects of the leader's life. I will break down the three areas leaders need to focus on: their priorities, plans, and speech. My prayer is that we all will become the leaders God has called us to be both in business and life.

I remember the first time I heard of the concept of frameworks. It literally blew me away. I had been looking for a way to simplify my business and never really figured out the secret...enter frameworks.

I heard Russell Brunson say once, "let me let you in on a little secret. Have you noticed that I teach the same thing over and over again? Well, it's true..I do, but I repackage it and sell it at different levels." Talk about simplifying your business, while also creating additional revenue streams and you only have to create one main framework.

In this episode, I will talk about what a framework is, why it's important for your business, and how it brings clarity to both you and your clients.

I used to struggle with always working late into the night. It was hard to separate work from personal. Often those lines can be blurred with us Kingdompreneurs. The problem is that if we don’t allow ourselves to transition from work life to personal life we are in danger of burnout. There are many things God calls us to other than just our business. Things where He (and others) wants us to be present. Being present in “these other things” did not come easy for me. I knew I had to change that. I needed a concrete way to transition from business to those other areas I knew I wanted to be present and available for. In today’s episode, I will discuss my end-of-day ritual in hope that it will encourage you to put into place a way for you to transition into those non-business areas of your life where God wants you to show up ready, prepared, and present. It’s inevitable, there will be many times in business where you will need to pivot. The question is, what will you do when faced with that decision to either keep on the current path or change direction? Change can be a scary thing. But it can also be exciting and just what your business needed. For too long I stayed the course. Even though I knew I should and needed to pivot, I did not. I was incapable of allowing myself permission to pivot. And that choice led to bitterness and resentment. These are not character traits of a Kingdompreneur. In this episode, I will share a recent story where I gave myself permission to pivot, I’ll share the outcome of that decision and one way you can tell if a pivot is needed in your business.

Have you ever asked yourself this question – “Am I actually making progress in my business?” Sometimes it may seem that all our hard work and dedication isn’t paying off. When we face difficulty and trials in business, or even when we are not, we can sometimes be blinded by the fact that we are actually making progress, we just are not allowing ourselves to see it. Is there a way we can become more aware of the progress we are making? Yes! The key to recognizing progress is learning to stop and celebrate our wins. Often, we don’t take that time. This is a huge mistake. But the good news is that we can change that.

In today’s episode, I’m going to share how recognizing, celebrating, noting, and sharing your wins with others actually highlights your progress in ways you may have never seen before.

One of the reasons so many entrepreneurs struggle to move forward is because they typically lack clarity in two areas. These two areas are knowing who they serve and how to serve them. You may be able to resonate with this. When we are not clear on these two things, the result is confusion and frustration. This confusion and frustration impacts both you as well as those you are trying to serve. It can also lead to burnout as often what ends up happening is that we try to serve everyone and offer them everything under the sun.

In today’s episode, I’m going to discuss the importance of getting clarity around the who and the what and provide some practical steps for how to figure out who it is you want to serve and how you can best serve them.

The first step towards freedom is to acknowledge that you need to be set free. Perfectionism is one of those things that I think many Kingdompreneurs struggle with. I know this is the case for me. It sabotages us and our business. It prevents us from moving forward and walking in God’s calling for us. It will prevent us from building the business we want to have. There are many reasons why people deal with perfectionism, but there is hope. We can be set free from it. It doesn’t need to sabotage us anymore. When we find freedom from perfectionism, we will be able to get our work and message out to those who need it most. In today’s episode, I will share my own journey with perfectionism, what I have learned so far, the difference between perfection and excellence, and share some Scripture as it pertains to perfectionism and the freedom we can have from it. It took me a long time to answer the question, "what does success look like in my business?" I never felt comfortable putting those kinds of metrics in place. Success looks and feels different for everyone. I've come a long way in that department and know I truly understand the value of being able to define what success actually looks like for me in my business. There is a famous quote that says, "aim at nothing and you'll hit it every time." We have to know where we are in our business and this means that we have no have set goals in place and some metrics of success. In today's, episode I'll be sharing the three main areas of my business, as well as my clients. that I use as a metric for success. My prayer is that this episode will as least get you thinking about how you would answer the "what is success" question.

Sometimes seeing isn't enough. We read in Psalm 34:8 - "Taste" and see that the Lord is good. Our eyes often deceive us and in these moments we can miss experiencing some of life's greatest moments.

The evidence of God is all around us. If we have eyes to see, we can see God. We can even see His goodness, but this doesn't mean we "taste" it. Until we truly taste something we don't yet fully understand the depths of the "thing" we are tasting.

In today’s episode, I will talk about what it means to taste the goodness of God so that we can move from just seeing to being completely satisfied with Him.

Has God given you a vision for your business? In what ways has that vision inspired and motivated you to keep moving forward in your business no matter what? Maybe you're still trying to figure out God's vision for you. If so, that's perfectly fine as long as you continue to pursue and seek him for that answer.

Having a clear vision does not mean you have all the answers to how you will actually accomplish it. As you continue taking steps of obedience God will reveal more of the how.

When we have a vision of what God wants for our business it brings purpose, clarity, and direction for what's ahead.

In today's episode, I will share the vision God has given me for my business. I hope it motivates you to discover or live out God's vision for you.

One of the most common traps I see many Kingdompreneurs make is that they think by doing more in their business they will somehow see more revenue. This is a dangerous mindset and often leads to overwhelm, frustration, burnout, and definitely does not lead to freedom or the business your dream of having. Doing more in your business means more time, money, and resources.

I know firsthand how this all goes down as I've been guilty of doing it for many years, until I heard someone say, "I'm building the business and life I've always wanted and the secret was reducing my offers down to one or two things."

Yep, that got my attention. And it's so true. When we stop trying to do too much in our business we actually simplify it and our lives and we start making money.

In this episode, I will dive deeper into this topic and share exactly how you can focus on what matters most in your business and find more freedom in the process.

When we think about blessings, it's easy to go to the obvious ones: having a job or being able to put food on the table, maybe it's family or friends, having a successful business, or whatever else you can think of. While all these things are amazing blessings that we should be thankful for, they can fail us. When this happens it may become hard to see the ways that God is blessings us. He blesses us with so much and these blessings we can always count on -Always! In this episode, we will look at 8 ways in which we are blessed in Christ. So the next time you are asking yourself, "is God really blessing me right now?" you'll be able to answer with confidence, yes! Passage: Ephesians 1:3-14

God's call on all life is something that happens outside of ourselves. It is a calling that God does himself. He calls us. 1 Corinthians 1:9, "God is faithful by whom you are called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord". God's calling on your life first and foremost a calling into a beautiful relationship with him. As Called Ones, we have all the resources of the kingdom at our disposal. He's given us the resources we need to do what he's called us to do. And your work, what you do, your business is an outflow of that calling.

Today, we dig into the idea of calling and how it relates to you, your business, and the purpose God has for you in business.

It's also a very personal topic because we all have some kind of relationship with money that either has a positive or negative impact on us.

Welcome to Business God’s Way where I’ll share faith and business strategies and mindset tips that help you create more income, freedom, and impact, so you can grow your business and fulfill your God-given purpose. In this episode, I’ll share:

  • What it means to build a lifestyle business.
  • Why you need to purposely plan time away from your business.
  • Two things you should be doing right away to start finding more freedom to fulfill your God-given purpose.

Many have bought into the “burning the midnight oil” or “burning the candle on both ends” mindset when it comes to running our business. But this mindset quickly leads to burnout. It also does not allow us the freedom to be able to have the lifestyle we want in order for us to be truly present in other areas of life where God has called us to. As Kingdompreneurs, we need to be taking time off, we need to go from our businesses managing us to us managing our businesses..this is where true freedom comes from.

Welcome to Business God’s Way where I’ll share faith and business strategies and mindset tips that help you create more income, freedom, and impact, so you can grow your business and fulfill your God-given purpose. In this episode, I’ll share:

  • The three common types of traffic to our website or funnel
  • Why we need traffic that we own and control
  • The reason why we cannot just trust all our content being on one platform

What would happen if tomorrow Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, or name your platform of choice, decided to shut you down or close up shop? All your content gone in the blink of an eye. That means all the traffic gone as well. Unfortunately, too many people put all their content eggs into one basket. This is why we need to work at getting traffic we own as well as mixing up where we put our content. This is the focus of today's episode.

  • Why it’s important to be led by the Holy Spirit
  • How to be led by the Holy Spirit
  • The one way in which we can grieve the Holy Spirit
  • How the Holy Spirit empowers your business

We are all led by something inside our businesses. Maybe you are led by money, ideas. opportunities, you fill in the blank. I have learned first hand how disastrous it can be to be led by my own fleshly desires. This is not the way to unleash the power of the Holy Spirit in business. To unleash His power, we must learn how to be led by the Spirit. This is what we will talk about in today’s episode.

  • Why you need to prepare yourself to have faith before you need to exercise faith.

  • How much faith does God really require us to have

This entrepreneurial journey requires a lot of faith sometimes. Faith that God cares, that he will provide for us, that He will guide and direct us. We need faith to know if we are heading in the right direction or making the right decisions. We need faith on those days when we just don't even know if we can keep on going. But faith can be built up and these three spiritual disciplines will help do that.

We can all agree that 2020 was not what any of us were expecting. But it's time that we put it behind us and turn our attention and focus towards 2021. What does that mean for you in your business? Maybe you picked up some bad habits that kept you stuck in 2020. Or maybe you allowed doubt and fear to keep your business stuck. Only you can answer that question. In today's episode, we will begin a two-part series on how to plan for 2021. Today we spend time talking about finding an area of breakthrough you need in your business and how to go about asking the Lord for it. The truth is, we can plan all we want, but if we are stuck for whatever reason, those plans will never happen. And as a fellow Kingdompreneur, I don't want to see that happen to you.

Do you struggle with charging for your products and services? I was surprised to learn how many Christian entrepreneurs actually do. Does the Bible speak to this? Is it wrong or sinful to charge for our work? Today, I will tackle these questions and dig into the Bible to get answers. If you do struggle with this I want you to find freedom, because doing business God's way means we charge for our work so that we can use that money to serve others and pay ourselves.

How often do we really pray specifically for what we need in business? I mean really specific things? We can often fall into the lie that God somehow does not care about our business, so we tend to feel guilty or we lack confidence in even praying. Today I talk about prayer in business and why it's not only ok, but it's what God wants from His children.

How are we supposed to create consistent content and post that content across multiple channels when our time is so limited and we are doing this all by ourselves? This is a fair question to ask and is one that is asked more often than not by my clients.

I get it. Creating consistent content is hard work, but it's important work if we ever want to see progress in our business.

In this episode, I'm going to offer you a strategy for how to repurpose your content making the job of content creation a bit easier for you.

I also wanted to make sure you knew about my free Facebook Group for Kingdompreneurs (link below). Feel free to join us and you can post your questions about this episode there and I will do my best to answer them.

After much prayer and consideration, I knew I could no longer be silent on the issue of racism. After all, my silence on the matter is exactly the issue. Too many of us are burying our heads in the sand, trying to pretend the issue of racism doesn't exist. Maybe it's because for many (myself included) we don't know what to say or do. But to remain silent is no longer an option. It never has been, it never should have been, and it can no longer be. Racism has to stop and ignoring it has to stop. Most of all the Bible makes this topic and how we respond to it very clear.

Let me leave you with some verses to consider:

1 Corinthians 12:13

13 For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.

1 John 2:11

11 But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going, because the darkness has blinded them.

Colossians 3:25

25 Anyone who does wrong will be repaid for their wrongs, and there is no favoritism.

Galatians 3:28

28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

James 2:1

1 My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism.

John 13:34

34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.

In today' s episode, we are going to talk about the topic of ambition. Ambition, with the right focus, can be a very good thing. It's what motivates us and puts a fire in our belly as entrepreneurs. But when ambition goes unchecked and it started becoming about us, rather than about God, that is where things start going south. We will look at the life of King Saul and hear a personal story from Jeff's life about how ambition cost him everything.

In this bonus episode, we will discuss the difference between "man dreamed" lives verses "God dreamed" lives. It's time to break free from the shackles that keep up living and thinking small and start thinking about the big dreams God has for us to live. It's all about living and walking in His dream for our lives. Trust me, when we live in His dreams for us, it's better than anything we could even dream for ourselves.

Sometimes we get stuck because we know we need to move forward in our business, but we just don't. Often we'll use the "we are waiting on the Lord" excuse for not. There are times when waiting on the Lord is appropriate, but more often the Lord is asking us to take steps forward in our business. Today, Jeff will talk about how you can move forward in your business, while still seeking the Lord and honoring him.

For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs. - 1 Timothy 6:10 (ESV) Money is not what is evil. It's the love of money that becomes the root of all kinds of evil.

In this bonus episode, Jeff shares his own personal story about how the love of money caused a lot of pain and eventually became the ultimate downfall of his first business.

Each day we are confronted with mindset traps and how we deal with them can have a big impact on many areas of our lives. When we lose the battle of our minds our faith, confidence, relationships, health, and our businesses suffer. As Christian entrepreneurs, we are not immune to these mindset traps. It's important to dream and have big ideas for where we want our business to go, this is called vision. The problem is that often our vision can be formed from internal ambitions. These ambitions can lead us into trouble and are more focused on us.

Instead, what we should be striving for is creating a God-focused vision for both our lives and business. This takes the focus of our business off ourselves and our ambitions and makes it God-focused.

The benefit of building our business on God's vision is that it opens the door for God's blessing as He knows that we will use them for the advancement of the Gospel.

On the Show Today You'll Learn

  • My journey towards discovering the meaning of vision
  • The difference between ambition focused vision and God-focused vision
  • What proverbs 28:18 teaches us about vision
  • The heart of God as it relates to humanity
  • How evangelism is the key to it all
  • The characteristics of those with vision
  • How vision informs how we do business God's way
  • The results that vision produce in our lives and businesses
