Greenberg Traurig’s GTDRIVES: Dynamic Dialogues Podcast informs business leaders, in-house counsel, and others about developments in diversity, equity, and inclusion and will be hosted by Shareholder and Chief Diversity Officer Nikki Lewis Simon. GTDRIVES is the diversity platform through which Greenberg Traurig, as a multinational law firm, “drives” engagement, full inclusion, and equity. DRIVES stands for Diversity, Retention, Inclusion, Value, Elevation, and Success, which are a part of GT’s core values.
Without a doubt, the work of building and maintaining a truly inclusive workplace that thrives on excellent client service, delivers positive results and revenue, where applicable, is the work of every person who works there. GTDRIVES: Dynamic Dialogues Podcast creates a space at the intersection of business and the increasingly diverse and engaged workforce where business leaders can have an honest dialogue around equity and inclusion.
This podcast gives an inside look into conversations and water cooler discussions about some of the important issues that many businesses face in this space. Podcast episodes will address key diversity topics in the workplace and in the news, including interviews as well as Greenberg Traurig’s Courageous Conversations series, where members of the firm and others outside of GT share parts of their journeys. We will also engage with high-level executives and people who are really wrestling with these issues. And tell those stories.

During Black Maternal Health Week, Greenberg Traurig's GT DRIVES: Dynamic Dialogues Podcast addresses maternal health disparities with Judge Glenda A. Hatchett, best known for her starring role on her two-time Emmy-nominated Court TV show, Judge Hatchett.
Judge Hatchett has dedicated her powerful voice to raising awareness of America’s growing maternal mortality rate—which disproportionately impacts women of color—after her daughter-in-law, Kira Dixon Johnson, died while giving birth in 2016. She shares the wins and work ahead on this important health disparity.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, in the United States, approximately 50,000 women suffer severe injuries, and 700 women die while giving birth each year. As of 2019, maternal mortality rates in the U.S. continue to rise.

Greenberg Traurig Shareholder Karen Kennard shares more of her personal connection to criminal justice reform. She and her family have been involved with the Innocence Project of Texas for more than a decade. Kennard’s oldest brother, Tim Cole, was wrongfully convicted of rape more than two decades ago and died in prison in 1999, at the age of 39. In 2009, DNA testing proved his innocence, and he was the first person in Texas to receive a posthumous exoneration and posthumous pardon. In addition, the Texas exoneration compensation system and the Texas Innocence Commission are named in his honor.
