Well friend, there is. Welcome to Growth Reframed, hosted by Brandon and Meghan Giegling. We’re so glad you’re here!

Are you trying to fix everything for everyone else? And if so, are you leaving time for yourself? We often try to take on the problems of the world and in doing so we weigh ourselves down. So why do we do this? To be a good person? To prove our own worth? No matter the reason, you don’t have to be Atlas holding up the weight of the world all by yourself.

Why can’t you just do things that bring you joy without the added pressure to further your cause? The fact is no one else gets to decide if what you are doing is worth it. Only you get to decide what is worthwhile for you.

You are not supposed to be happy all the time. Every one of us has a range of emotions that we need to allow ourselves to experience. Many times we let others tell us how we should be feeling or we press them down because we don't want to deal with them. Establishing boundaries can be difficult to do, but also completely necessary in daily life. Boundaries allow others to know your limits and expectations for how they should interact with you. It may seem selfish to talk about what you need, but that couldn't be further from the truth. Setting boundaries is foundational for deep and meaningful relationships and shows others what you will accept and what you won't.

Whether you are talking about summer specifically or life in general, it's important to make the most of the time we're given. It can be hard because the to-dos, the shoulds, bedtimes, routines and schedules all sneak in and make us worry about keeping on task more than being in the moment and letting some things just happen...even if they aren't at the exact right moment for me. Figure out what is important to you and make it a priority while you can.

We are all on a journey and many of us have been told we should be striving for more. But what is more? What if we don’t want it? What if we LIKE where we are at? Just because our journey–or lack thereof–is different does not make it wrong or invalid. We are not here to judge each other’s dreams or way of going about them. There is no shame in having different desires than what people are talking about, or in being 100% content in who and what you are RIGHT NOW.

Today we want to explore whether love is, and whether it should be, a transaction. What we mean by that: should love only be given when something will be expected in return?
So much of our culture and our daily lives ARE transactional--we very much live in the “what have you done for me lately?” mindset. Some of that we can’t help--we work for pay, when we get paid we spend that money to get X, Y, or Z.
If we treat our relationships like that, is it really love?

But I want to tell you a truth right now to put your mind at ease. It is OK to fight.
As a matter of fact I would say that if you aren’t fighting then you may have more of a problem because you are either ignoring the issues or maybe you aren’t challenging each other enough.

Be honest with us! How much time do you spend complaining?!?
Look at your own life. Is it always someone else's fault for why you are where you want to be? Can you always point the finger to something for why you aren't getting what you want? . And if you're being really honest, it makes life easier to blame someone or something because it gives you a built in excuse for why you aren't accomplishing my goals.
But what if it is YOU?
I know this is a hard pill to swallow, but many of you need to hear this today. You need to stop complaining and start doing. Stop worrying about other people. Stop saying what if. Stop wishing things were easier. Stop comparing yourself to other people. Stop sitting still doing the same things day after day and expecting different results. If you want to truly do things differently then you need to start thinking differently, start new habits, and put the weight on your own shoulders to figure it out. Looking at outside circumstances is NOT serving you. It is crippling the “future” you and holding you back from becoming so much more.
Thank y’all so much for listening.

This week on the podcast, Brandon is solo and talking about something that has been really heavy on his heart lately. He talks about not being a sheep.
As we look around at the world today, it seems many of us act like sheep. We are looking for someone to lead us. We are happy to be followers of other people.
Whether it is in the context of political parties either Republican or Democrat. Or wanting to fit in with our friend group, or wanting to keep up with what everyone else seems to be doing. Somewhere along the way we have lost our ability to think for ourselves.
Don’t allow beliefs of political parties, friends, family, or marketers shape how you see the world. You are your own unique person. Always remember that.

This week on the podcast, we are asking you to say "screw you" to this so called picture perfect life. We often look around in the world and think everyone else has it figured out and we don't. We compare ourselves and judge ourselves based on someone else's perfect picture and when we feel like we don't add up, we put up a facade. The danger is in trying to put on a mask or play a character for everyone else, we can lose our true selves.
But know this, picture perfect doesn't exist and trying to live up to it is not serving you.

This week on the podcast, we are going to challenge your beliefs on failure. Many of us use the potential possibility of failure to talk us out of trying anything at all. We get comfortable with complacency. And if we are being real, we often use our failures of the past as labels we carry with us now and into the future. But what if trying and not meeting your expectations isn't actually failing?!?

How do you feel about you? Seems like a simple question right? But many times it takes some deep thinking. Today, we're asking you to dig into your most inner thoughts and at its core how do you measure up with YOU. As you know, we are very big on communication. We advocate for letting others know what you need because we know what a difference it can make in your life and in all of your relationships.
But it may surprise you that how others feel about you is not the most important thing for your life. And although communication with the world is a big factor in your overall happiness, it simply isn’t the number one thing you should be concerned with.

Today, we're throwing it back to one of our fav episodes about choosing joy. Now more than ever it is SO easy to get into a cycle of negativity. We can let others control our narrative and how we choose to see the world. When others want to drag you down and you’re tempted to join in the complaining and negativity, just stop yourself and remind yourself that YOU feel better, happier and more content when you choose to focus on the good stuff.

This week, we are continuing in our Fitness Month of our Summer Break Series! One of the things we talked about in last week’s episode was TIME. In order for your workout routine to work for you, it has to be able to take place at a time and in an amount of time that you are actually able to devote to fitness. With that in mind, we wanted to take a deeper dive into creating a workout schedule, because something we hear all the time is that someone would love to work out, but they just don’t have the time to do it!
Here’s the hard truth: we all have lots going on. Many of us work long hours at demanding jobs. Lots of us have side hustles. Most of us have kids. So creating a schedule for working out is non-negotiable if you want to get serious about devoting time to fitness.
If you missed last week, we talked all about finding the best workout for you! So make sure to check it out!

Today, we’re kicking off month 2 of our summer break series! And August is all about FITNESS. If you’ve been around for awhile, you know that both of us are runners. But not everyone likes to run! And that’s okay. So to start off this month, we’re digging into to how to find the workout that works for you. Because if you don’t like your fitness routine, you aren’t gonna stick to it!
So much of finding your exercise ‘thing’ is trial and error. But even before you start that process, there are some things to consider to help point you in the direction of what to try.

Welcome to the first episode of our summer break series! We’re so excited to spend our summer with YOU! We’ll spend the rest of July and all of August doing shorter episodes so that we can all sneak in a bit more R&R!
This month, we’re focusing on relationships! And it’s interesting because as we were deciding on the direction of the podcast for the summer, we ended up having a really eye-opening conversation.
Today we’re talking about what the phrase “at all costs” means, and if we, if YOU, really mean that when it comes to the things we’re passionate about.
We say we’d do ANYTHING for...the job, the calling, the kids’ extracurriculars, our art, our goals, our...whatever...but would we sacrifice our relationship, our marriage? Personally, no. And our guess is that most of you wouldn't either.

It’s the feeling you have when you suddenly realize you are NEVER alone and can hardly walk 2 feet without someone running up to you and clinging to your leg like their life depends on it. It’s the reason you think to yourself, OMG WHY!? WHY WONT THEY LEAVE ME ALONE??

This week on the Fools in Love Podcast, we are revisiting one of our audiences favorite episodes to date. We have both struggled with anxiety and depression in seasons of our lives and hope to cut through the stigma and provide you with the tools you need to face it head on.
So join us as we go deep and get really real. Depression and anxiety is something that no one wants to talk about--so when you or your partner experience one or both, it can feel like you’re the only one on the face of the earth. But according to the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, anxiety disorders are the most common mental disorders in the US. So while no one’s shouting it from the roof tops, it’s not exactly uncommon.

Listen, y’all...today we’ve got THE episode you need for your relationship! We have heard from many couples who have reported this whole social distancing thing has NOT been going well for them. And it seems so many people are in the same exact situation and having all sorts of fights they wouldn’t have because, well, they don’t usually spend quite so much time together. BUT HAVE NO FEAR BECAUSE Brandon and I have been training for this moment for eight years.
Yes, that’s right...for eight years, Brandon and I have worked and lived in the same physical space. And then we got even more disgusting, because we added a blog, and finally a podcast to the mix. To top it all off? We only have one vehicle.
I know. It sounds a little insane, doesn’t it? But here’s the thing: we’re used to spending time together, and now we know that, for at least the next little bit of time here on this little podcast, we can help you not hate the person you love.

This week on the Fools in Love Podcast, we are talking about the importance of being kind. About a month ago it was National Random Acts of Kindness Day. In preparation of the day, we were trying to come up with a story of how a stranger had done something kind for us at any point in our lives. And sadly, neither of us could come up with anything other than strangers holding doors for us or waving us through in traffic.
So we asked around at work, and really only one person came up with anything. Anyway, in our super small, very scientific research project, it didn’t seem like people going out of their way to be kind is the norm.
Now, more than ever, we need to take a deep look at how we are approaching the world and making sure we are doing our part in spreading kindness.

This week on the podcast, we get into some of the truths behind being an entrepreneur. Many times when we think of entrepreneurs we think about people we look up to. The rich and famous who are treading their own path and who have made it. The Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, or Mark Zuckerbergs of the world to name a few.
We can focus on their successes and start to believe it is easy to be an entrepreneur. We can just show up, make money and go on extravagant vacations.
The reality of owning a business is that it’s HARD WORK.

This week on the Fools in Love Podcast, we talk about all the reasons you are not getting the results you want. As people we always come up with reasons for why we aren’t doing what we want to do in life. We think of a million excuses, rationalizations, or even other people to blame for why we are stuck in the life we have. We didn’t get lucky like that person or we didn’t have the natural talents like that person. The reality is the reason you are not living the life you want is because you are not being tactical enough with your goals.

Today on the podcast, we’re going to chat about money. One of the things we firmly believe is that both partners in a relationship should have a solid understanding of how they themselves view money, how their spouse views money, and ultimately that they both have working knowledge of the money that comes into and goes out of the household.
So clearly, this is meant for longer term relationships and marriages, not couples just starting out or couples who are not to the point of shared finances, homes, kids, and all the other “stuff.” BUT that doesn’t mean that it isn’t a good episode for those people not yet to that point--because our goal is to provide you with some things to think about if you get to that place in your future!
