Welcome to the Corryton Bible Consideration where we walk through the Bible in prayer and study, with the intent of becoming more like Jesus.
From James 5:12-20 we see where James encourages the Christian to let their yes be a yes, and no be a no. He ends the letter with a guide to effective prayers.
From James 5:7-11 we see how we should be patient, and what patience actually looks like. There are actions we should take while being patient.
In E16 will discuss the warning James gave to the rich. We provide a healthy perspective on money and helpful advice.
From James 3:13-18 we look into the different types of wisdom - wisdom from below and wisdom from Heaven
Wisdom below: bitter envy, selfish ambition, boasting
Wisdom from God: Pure, Peaceful, Considerate, Yielding, Merciful
Episode 13 - controlling the tongue as James describes in James 3:1-12. We see that teachers are held to a higher standard and should not esteem to teach for notoriety or prestige.
In today's episode we will see the contrast in Abraham and Rahab, but their similarities in exercising their faith by their works.
Faith without works is useless.
True - living - faith is always connected with regeneration / new birth / born again.

We are not saved BY good works, we are saved FOR good works.
Once saved we will lead a new life where we will want to do good works based on what God tells us to do.
In Episode 9 we will consider the Sin of Favoritism in our churches. How do we show favoritism and to whom?
Q.1 - How do you describe the Jesus you know to others?
Q.2 - How do you describe your relationship to Jesus (who are you to Jesus)?
In Episode 8 we will consider how James challenges believers in Jesus to think about how "religious" they really are.
Controlling the tongue and who do we care for?
In episode 7 we consider James 1:22-25 in being doers of the Word, not just hearers (or readers).
Hearing and Doing the Word: in episode 6 we will pray in Psalm 7 and study from James 1:19-21
In episode 4 we will consider James 1:9-12 and the Christian in humble/poor circumstances versus the rich.
