When it comes time to drive off a new car, you have three basic options:
But with the average price of a new car at almost $41,000, most drivers today are driving off the lot with either an auto loan or a lease.
❓ But which is better - an car lease or an auto loan?
What are the costs that go with each?
And how do you know if you're making the best financial decision when it comes to driving your next car?
Is there something we are missing when comparing the two?
Today on the show, I will compare the auto loan and car lease, so you can decide which is the best way to drive off the lot in a new car.
But, to start off, the simplest way to separate an auto loan and a lease is by understanding that an auto lease allows you to DRIVE the new car, whereas an auto loan allows you to DRIVE and BUY the car.
❗ ❗ Of course there’s a lot more to it and to tell the whole story let’s jump right in.

On the show today is America's #1 Money Mentor, Chris Naugle.
I'll be honest — I brought Chris to have a conversation on a topic we don't agree on...infinite banking.
If you haven't heard of infinite banking before, you're perfectly normal. It's not a very popular term in the financial world and most financial gurus like Dave Ramsey and Suze Orman are completely against it.
But, what I've learned over the years in this world of personal finance is not every guru is always right.
Therefore, I decided to say "yes" to my guest today so I can ask him the hard questions about...
Now, we will dive into infinite banking in depth, but here is the sceanrio/example he used inside the episode:
👉 You deposit $1,000 into a whole life cash value life insurance plan (yes, you read that correctly...and I was cringing when he said it).
👉 The life insurance plan pays out 4% guaranteed return plus non-guaranteed dividends. The dividends in this scenario were 2%. Therefore, your return is 6%.
👉 Then you immediately borrow from the life insurance plan $900, while your $1,000 remains inside the plan earning 6%. You borrow the $900 at 5%, earning a 1% spread.
👉 Next you take the $900 that you are paying 5% while earning 6% on your $1,000 and you use it to pay off high interest debt, to save, or to invest.
In theory, this looks great on paper. But, I had a lot of questions and concerns with this strategy and kudos to Chris Naugle (my guest) for answering every question I throw at him.

Did you know you can generate passive income and/or diversify your retirement portfolio through Hard Money Lending?
A hard money loan is an interest-only short-term loan primarily used in real estate with the loan being secured by property. In a nutshell, you become the "bank" and you lend money to borrowers and receive monthly interest payments just like a bank would receive monthly monthly payments from a mortgage borrower. The only difference is you (the bank) can charge much higher interest between 10% and 18%, whereas the bank's current rates are right around 3.5%. If you have a equity in your home, a pile of cash lying around, or you are looking to diversify your portfolio — hard money lending may be a great option for you. BONUS As a hard money lender myself, I will show you exactly how I am lending hard money each month. I will share with you some tricks I have learned along the way and share with you my exact numbers for you to see exactly how it works.
Also, make sure to download the templates I use as far the paperwork required prior to lending.

A home equity line of credit, or a HELOC, is a revolving line of credit that is guaranteed by the equity in your home. The line of credit is actually a second mortgage on your home giving you access to a revolving credit line you can borrow from as needed.
Very similar to a credit card, a HELOC offers a line of credit at a much lower interest rate because your home is used as the collateral for the loan.
The amount you can borrow is based on the equity in your home, which is equal to the value of the home minus the amount you owe on your primary mortgage. If your home is paid off, then the HELOC becomes the first position mortgage on your home.
A HELOC can be used for things like home improvemetns, emergency funds, large down payments on second properties, investment opportunities, or even a way to pay down debt faster.
In the episode, I will break down:
If you have ever wondered about opening a home equity line of credit, this is the perfect episode for you.

On the show today I have Bernadette Logue - an expert when it comes to mindset and money.
I’ll admit — I am great when it comes to showing you how to create a budget, save more money and get out of debt.
However, where I often miss is when it comes to your mindset and money.
What I have learned over the years of coaching people with their finances is that a change won’t happen until you are willing to make the change. Once you make the decision to commit to improving your life and money, I can then show you the tactics to help you accomplish your goals.
But what causes us to make those changes and how do we get there?
And this is where Bernadette comes in to help answer these questions.
We also discuss.
Why do some people do well financially and others seem to always struggle with money?
Where we learn and develop our financial habits and at what age.
Is it possible to break the cycle of constant financial struggle?

I had Brian Winch on the show way back in 2017 to share how he makes a full-time income picking up litter in parking lots.
Yes, you read that right - picking up litter in parking lots.
I decided to reach back out to have Brian back on the show to follow up and ask him how the business is doing and how others are doing after having him on the podcast a 3 years ago.
"Peach, this is literally a $30k -$50k per year side hustle and others I have helped get started are doing extremely well with their side litter-pickup side hustle as well".
$30k to $50k side hustle?
This isn't just a side hustle - this is full-time income. But how does one make this kind of money as a side hustle?
One of the reasons: COVID-19
Brian answers all these questions and more in this week's interview on making extra money.

With only 11 days until the election, many of us are wondering what we should be doing when it comes to our investments?
Should we pull out our money now?
Should we wait until after the election to see what happens?
What if we don't know who the president is on November 3rd?
What about other uncertainties that could have an effect on my investment portfolio?
Inside the episode I am going to break down...
Investing With Uncertainty? Sure, there will be volatility when there is uncertainty in the markets. But how should we manage this and what have we learned from the past during an election year?
Should I wait until after the election to invest? I am going to show you 22 different election cycles and let you make the decision based on the past century when it comes to investing before, during and after an election.
What If Democrat vs Republican President? Good news, it doesn't matter as much as you think it does. Often Presidents like to take a little too much credit for how the markets did during their presidency, but as you will see it's not just the President...there are MANY other factors too.
Should you cash out of the stock market?
But what do the GREATS say? Why not take advice from some of the greatest investors of all time? Let's see what Warren Buffet, Charlie Munger and Peter Lynch have to say about investing during an election cycle.

Jordan Goodman is a rockstar. You may have heard of him as America’s Money Answers Man and seen him as a regular CNN, Fox Business and radio segments across the country.
Jordan is referred to as the answers man because of his expertise on all things money, but I wanted him to come on the show for one reason and one reason only: The Equity Optimization Strategy
Jordan walks us through step-by-step how to pay down your 30-year mortgage in as little as 5-7 years using a HELOC.
Now, I am sure you’re waving red flags, and you definitely should be. I was too.
Therefore, I made sure Jordan broke it down step-by-step and I even had to ask him to explain it three different ways so we can all fully understand this strategy.
Here are just a few things we mention inside this episode:

I'll be honest — I almost didn't record this episode.
After talking about it with Andrea (my wife) and praying about it, we decided we were going to share more of our story.
This wasn't easy. Not many people are willing to talk about the REAL life money.
Here goes...this past month we officially passed $1 million net worth.
And there is way more to the story that Andrea and I are sharing on the show today.
No, we do not make $1 million. (Not even close)
No, it did not happen quickly.
No, it wasn't super easy.
No, we are nowhere near perfect when it comes to money.
However, we hit one of our goals. We can officially say we are "millionaires". And it feels really damn good!
But, how did this happen?
Where did we start (Hint: we had a huge negative net worth)?
And how could someone else accomplish this?
We discuss all of this and more on this week's one-of-a-kind show!

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to start a franchise?
Whether you are looking to change careers, increase cash flow, or invest as a wealth building strategy — franchises may be the perfect fit.
I'll be honest — I didn't know anything about franchising so I found America's #1 Franchise Expert - Kim Daly.
Kim Daly is a franchise coach and expert with over 18 years helping people find the perfect franchise and showing them how to get started from almost 2 decades of experience.
She's seen the good, bad, and the ugly of franchising and she's sharing when to get started, what to look for in a franchise, and how to find early success.
And some of these franchise opportunities will shock you. I had no idea how successful people are inside franchises I have quite frankly never heard about.
We all know about the franchise opportunities for McDonalds, UPS Stores, Massage Envy and the 7-11s...but what about the little-known franchise jems you've never heard of?
We talk about all of this and more in this week's amazing episode with franchise expert Kim Daly.

Wow - did someone just say that your 401k is a bad plan?
Yes.
Rebecca Walser comes on the show to share with us why your 401k isn’t just hurting you...it’s actually KILLING your financial plan.
It all started back in 1978 when the famous 401k plan was in a way created by accident. Back in the late 1970s, most employers contributed to a defined benefit plan (AKA a pension) and that cost employers a lot of money.
During this same time, tax rates were much higher than they were today and some very highly compensated executives were looking for loopholes to avoid these high taxes. What they proposed was they could be bonused out in the form of a 401k plan, which allowed them to take their bonus, dump it into a 401k plan to avoid paying the high taxes now, and then grab that bonus money at retirement when taxes were much lower.
However, a few years later businesses started catching on and realized they would save millions upon millions of dollars by getting rid of the pension plan and moving to a 401k plan. Instead of having to fund a pension for years after retirement, they could offer a company match and have the employees contribute the majority to their retirement.
And that’s how the 401k became the retirement standard in today’s world...on accident.
But, it’s not 1978 anymore. Taxes are much different than they were then, the government debt is much higher than it was then, and there is a huge problem facing social security.
How are we going to pay for social security AND how are we going to pay off this massive $23 Trillion of debt?
Is it possible that taxes could go up from their all-time lows of 2017???
Wait a minute….if taxes are at an all-time low and we forecast we may need to raise taxes in the future to pay for the government's financial mess….then does it make sense to save in a 401k today?
Are we avoiding having to pay very low taxes today so we can pay much higher taxes in retirement?
In the interview, Rebecca and I talk about:

If this is you, you need to learn how to budget with irregular income.
This week on the show, I am going to walk you through the 6 steps to irregular income budgeting.
This is the same system I have used in my own business when setting up a monthly budget based on fluctuating income.
Step 1: Find Your 90 Day Average Income
Step 2: Determine Your Take-Home Pay Based on Gross Income
Step 3: Open Separate Checking Account (Separate Bank)
Step 4: Choose Your Paydays
Step 5: Enter Monthly Take-Home Pay Into Budget
Step 6: Readjust Every Month Based on Last 90 Days

Today I am going to break down the exact same budget our students are currently using to save on average $500 or more each month.
A recent study shows that nearly 80% of Americans are currently living paycheck to paycheck.
This isn't because they aren't making enough or that they're spending too much — it's because what gets measured gets managed.
On the show I will be breaking down the 7 steps below in detail and explain how they work and why each step is so important.
Step 1: Go back 90 days
Step 2: Make categories
Step 3: Enter first two steps into budget
Step 4: Zero out your budget
Step 5: Follow the plan YOU created for YOUR money
Step 6: Make adjustments
Step 7: Rinse and repeat

We focus so much about helping our kids with the finances, but what about our parents?
Right now there are close to 50 million Americans who are age 65 and over. This means 1 out of every 7 Americans should at least start having the money talk sooner than later.
But how do you start a money conversation with your parents?
What should you say, and more importantly - what do you NOT say?
What things need to be in place before it's too late?
What are the real-life examples of the shattered families when the money-talk didn't happen?
Author, speaker, and personal finance journalist Cameron Huddleston is my guest on the show to take us through all of these answers and more.
Cameron has lived it. After her mother was diagnosed with early onset dementia, Cameron painstakingly made her way through the financial journey with her own parents. During this time, she learned a lot of what to do and what not to do.
After going through this personal experience, Cameron made her mission to help other adult children navigate the waters of having the money-talk with Mom and Dad.

Affluenza is the damage done to our health, our families, our communities, and our environment by the obsessive quest for material gain.
To make this simple: Affluenza is the "we need more stuff to be happy" epidemic.
Since the late 1950s, the happiness inside the United States has steadily decreased. However, incomes have almost doubled, our houses have more than doubled in size, and the quest to gain happiness through "stuff" is at an all time high.
And what about the consequences of Affluenza? How much of our money do we actually save compared to the rest of the world? And what are the other consequences when it comes to this epidemic?

Benjamin Brandt, host of the Retirement Starts Today Radio Show and Founder/CEO of Capital Wealth Management is coming on the show today to talk about the 5 steps to building wealth inside your 401k.
Believe it or not, $1 million may seem like a lofty goal by today's standards, but will it be enough if you're planning on retiring 20-30 years from now?
Here are the 5 steps we will discuss during the show:
Step 1: Start Saving Today
The money you will be living off of in retirement is not from the money you are setting aside today. It's from the money that your money will be making in the form of compound interest.
Step 2: 10% -15% Invested
Start off by saving 10% - 15% of your income. Then, every time you get a raise, split the raise: half goes to you and the other half goes to your 401k.
Step 3: Always Get the Employer Match
97 percent of employers offer a company match. How much is the match, is it a tiered match, and how do you find this out? Remember, the employer match is truly FREE money for your nest egg.
Step 4: Invest Into the Right Funds
Not everyone will be investing into the same funds. Some of us retire next year and other will retire in 30 years from now. Knowing what to invest in based on the level of risk and time you have left is crucial.
Benjamin gives some great insight on what you should be investing in depending on age vs risk vs reward.
Step 5: Keep Your Hand out of the Cookie Jar
There are three ways you can access money from your 401k, and only one of them is correct.
The correct way: wait until you are in retirement and access your nest egg penalty free.
Wrong way #1: early withdrawal and pay a hefty penalty
Wrong way #2: take a 401k loan
Benjamin breaks down why you want to avoid tapping into your 401k until you are at retirement age and most importantly why this is not a good idea.
All the show notes and links Benjamin mentioned can be found at https://www.moneypeach.com/session135

Why would anyone want to invest in real estate?
Maybe it's to diversify their retirement nest egg?
Or maybe they're looking for a passive income stream?
Or maybe they want to build long-term wealth they can pass down to future generations?
Whatever your reasoning is for investing in real estate, the biggest question should be: How do I get started?
I'll be honest - even for someone who has spent years inside the financial world, I still have many questions and I am definitely NOT an expert in real estate by any means.

Therefore, I am turning to an expert when it comes to long-term real estate investing — Dustin Heiner.
Dustin is the founder of MasterPassiveIncome.com and SuccessfullyUnemployed.co.
During our conversation, Dustin will share the 6 ways he earns passive income in real estate and how to get started.
We discuss everything from choosing the right property, finding the right property manager, what parts of the U.S. Dustin is currently invested, and some red flags you must watch out for.
Dustin also will share with you how he has built up a portfolio of over 30 properties and what he is expecting the future of real estate investing.

Chris explains some really interesting ways to improve our credit that I had never heard of before.
One thing Chris mentions is making sure you pay down the balance on your statement close date and not on the payment due date. This is because the banks report to the credit bureaus on the statement close date — not on your due date.
This means even if you pay off your credit card on-time, you could still be hurting your credit if your balance is above the available credit line threshold.
Also, Chris talks a lot about why you don’t need to pay someone to fix your credit for you and how simple it really is. I was even a little surprised with how simple it is.
And if you’re someone who is just starting out and trying to build your credit, Chris and I both discuss a unique strategy that involves piggybacking onto a tradeline.

Do you have a ROTH 401(k) option with your employer?
Right now about 50% of employers who offer a 401(k) are now offering a ROTH 401(k) as an alternative option for retirement, and 60% of those who have access to a ROTH 401(k) are using them.
In this episode, I am going to talk about why the ROTH 401(k) is a much better option and explain exactly how the ROTH 401(k) works.
Once you understand the why behind the ROTH 401(k), you'll be making the call to your HR department and start contributing to the ROTH 401(k) in no time at all.
**If your employer does NOT offer a ROTH 401(k) and you still want access to tax-free savings in retirement - you still can.
**For the purpose of this episode, the rules for the 401(k) can also apply to your 401(a), 403(b), 457, or TSP.

Have you noticed that every successful brand, company, and entrepreneur have one thing in common - they all have a blog?
Blogging has become the #1 way to help a business create loyalty from their customers by creating valuable information their future customers both want and need.
A real estate agent may blog about the housing market, a stylist could blog about DIY tips for your hair, and a personal finance coach may even blog about tips to living on a budget!
The point is, all brands should have a blog and the majority of them do.
This is where you come in...who is going to create their blog content? And more importantly; who are they going to pay to create their blog content?

How much money can you really make as a virtual assistant?
Lately as we enter week 5 of quarantine, I have had many people ask me how they can start to generate income from home. One of my favorite ways I recommend to others is as a virtual assistant.
Which brings me to my guest on the show today - Kayla Sloan.
She is my former virtual assistant for Money Peach and today Kayla has moved away from doing virtual assistant work to actually helping others get started. Over the past few years, she has helped hundreds of people get started making real money working from home.
She also has a community of other virtual assistants from around the world who are helping each other find and land jobs that fit their skill set.
If you have ever wanted to or thought about working from home part-time (or full-time) on your schedule while making a great living, a virtual assistant job may be the perfect solution.

Dave Ramsey personality Chris Hogan is coming on the show today to explain how the everyday normal guy can in fact become a millionaire.
Now, before you raise your eyebrow at me - let me be clear on what a millionaire is…
A millionaire does NOT mean you earn a million dollars per year.
Instead, Chris explains that a millionaire is simply someone who has a NET WORTH of a million dollars or more. This means if you take their assets (what they own) and subtract their liabilities (what the owe), these people would have a net worth of a million dollars.
With that said, let’s dive into what this episode…
With the help of the Dave Ramsey team, Chris studied over 10,000 people with a net worth of a million dollars or more to find out…
To be honest - some of these will absolutely shock you - especially when you find out what some of these millionaires do for a living, how quickly they pay off their mortgage, and how much they spend going out to eat.

I know, I know - Medicare is not a very sexy topic in life. But, what if I told you there was an opportunity to save thousands of dollars in the future by PAYING attention to Medicare right now?
By the way - did you know medical coverage in retirement is the largest expense you will all face later in life?
And, since I haven’t covered this topic at all on the show, I knew now was the perfect time. I also knew I wanted to bring the best of the best on when it comes to experts in this arena, so I was able to get Danielle Roberts to come on the show.
Danielle is the go-to expert for all things Medicare for the publications like Forbes, the Huffington Post and Readers Digest. She is also co-founder of the uber popular blog and website Boomer Benefits.
But first….
IMPORTANT: This episode is NOT just for those getting ready to hit retirement. There are few things Danielle will share that will save those who are years away from retirement thousands upon thousands of dollars. If you’re like me (35 years old) and you take advantage of what Danielle is talking about in terms of saving money in your later years by starting now, your older self will thank you!

Well, are you about to freak out yet?
Why?
Because we are about a week away from Christmas and the spending is in full force right about now. In fact, did you know the average American family will spend over $845 in 2018 and closer to $1,000 in 2019?!
I am not saying you shouldn’t spend that much this Christmas. I say if you have the money and want to spend it - by all means, go right ahead!
But what if you don’t have the money? What if the holiday season sneaks up on you and the only option is to put it all on a credit card? If you remember from last year, this means you’ll be making credit card payments for Christmas in July.
The Solution: This week I am sharing with you our little SAVINGS HACK for the big expenses in life. Christmas, vacations, emergencies, new cars or any other big expense you can anticipate.
If you start what we are talking about this month, you’re going to really enjoy spending money this time next year because you’ll have the money set aside.
And when the vacation comes up you want to go on, you’ll have the money set aside.
Or when the hot water heater goes out, you’ll have the money set aside.
Whatever large expenses you have, you’ll have the money set aside.

For the longest time I have poo-pooed the idea of travel hacking.
For me, it meant you were supposed to go out and sign up for as many travel credit cards as possible. Then, you would try to spend as much as money on each credit card to “chase the rewards.”
I remember thinking: Wow! I can spend $40,000 on a credit card and score a free plane ticket - no thanks!
Then I met Travis.
Side note: I met Travis at a little dive bar in Philadelphia last summer through a mutual friend. When he first told me he was a travel hacker...well... I wasn’t overly impressed.
Until now!
You see, Travis didn’t get his first credit card until he was 28-years-old and to this day he WILL NOT carry a balance or pay a dime of credit card interest.
And yet, he and his family of 3 still travels all over the world on $5 plane tickets, cheap apartment rentals, and some other little-known travel hacks that completely took me by surprise.
Here’s what we have in store for you:
• How to get the absolute cheapest plane tickets
• Where to look for cheap flights
• How to get notified about the little-known flight hacks
• How to find cheap apartment rentals
• A secret they use for plane tickets using Wikipedia!
• How they stayed in a 5-bedroom mansion in Breckenridge with access to the BMW and Hot Tub for free
• What Travis recommends as everyone's first step to travel hacking
BONUS: He has a free webinar on Black Friday 2018 to show you the top tips to travel hacking. If you would rather bypass the long lines and learn from a pro, sign up here:

Eighteen months ago I brought my wife on the show to talk about how her and I FINALLY got on the same page with money inside our marriage.
The episode was one of the most downloaded episodes of all time...and then we were told by the news station she was working for at the time that the show would have to pulled down ASAP.
However, she has since retired and now the episode is being relaunched because I know how many of you will be able to relate.
The backstory…
We had just got married, had great jobs, and a really good income. We felt like we were rich...and we behaved like it.
After three years of doing dumb things with money, we eventually went completely broke.
We had maxed out credit cards, overdrafted our bank accounts, had zero money saved, and we were literally sitting there at our kitchen table feeling completely hopeless.
We didn’t know what to do. I had a plan but then she had a better plan. She made more money that I did but I was the one who handled the money.
We went through a ton of ups and downs, but eventually came together and big things started happening.
We started saving more money…
We started paying off more debt…
We stopped fighting about money…
And we did it all together.
Still today, one of the questions I get all the time is, “Peach, how did you get your wife on board with your money plan?”
Here’s what we are talking about in today’s episode:
• What it takes to get on board
• The struggles we faced
• What she did that changed everything
• How much she spends on a dress today vs 6 years ago
• Our “entertainment” monthly budget
• The most difficult thing she faced when climbing towards financial freedom
• What life is like now we are debt free
What you will find in this episode is the raw truth: it wasn’t easy. The number one cause of divorce in North America is money fights and money problems. Somehow we managed to stay married through the ups and downs of our finances, but in the end we are stronger than ever both financially and inside our marriage.
Money truly does touch every aspect of your life…especially your marriage.

He knows how to create something from nothing and he’s coming on the show to share some of his best tips for getting started online (and in any niche).

Tony and Alisa are experts when it comes to everything marriage: dating, kids, sex, lifestyle, and MONEY.
I of course would like to talk about all of it with them, but on the show this week we are solely going to focus on the money.
Here’s what we have in store for you:
• Should couples share a bank account and why (or why not)?
• Sex and money - do they relate?
• Who costs more - men or women?
• A marriage/dating hack that we will be starting ASAP
• Creating dreams around life and money
• The breadwinner of the marriage
• HER money vs HIS money vs OUR money
• Best date ideas that won’t break the budget
• And a few more surprises
BONUS: Andrea Robinson (my wife) comes on as a co-host to help me through this incredible interview!
Side note: I started listening to their podcast about a year ago and found myself always sharing it with Andrea or a good friend of mine. On their show, they talk about EVERYTHING marriage...including the things that many of us would consider taboo.

Eric Brotman is on the show to share with us the four strategies everyone needs to implement to keep Uncle Sam away from your money.
There are so many different ways to build wealth, but the ones Eric focuses on during our interview all has to do with taxes.
Believe it or not, very simple decisions you make today will have tremendous benefits or consequences later in life. Whether we are talking about a 401k, ROTH IRA, 529, or even some outside-of-the-box strategies, all of them have tax implications.
Here’s what we discuss:
NOTE: At the end of the show, Eric drops a bomb on me and I wasn’t ready for it. You are going to “feel” the awkwardness when Eric mentions something which I am NOT a fan of. But...he does a pretty good job of “bending” me just a little bit :)

Peter Hug has been in the gold industry for nearly 40 years which makes him an expert in my opinion when it comes to gold.
Now to be honest, I am not a fan of gold (yet). In fact, I have never once invested in gold because I have personally never liked gold as an investment.
So, why am I willing to learn more about gold now, right?
First off - I don’t know much about gold. One of my rules is I do not invest in things I don’t understand. Therefore, investing in gold was never something I was comfortable doing.
Secondly, (I thought) gold didn’t have a great track record when compared to the equity markets. From what I do know, the the price of gold has increased by 355% over the past 30 years, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average has increased by 1,255% during that same time frame.
But, now I am also learning that over the past 15 years, gold has outperformed the market. In fact, gold has returned 355% over the last 15 years (same as the 30-year return) while the Dow has returned only 58%.
After seeing the facts, I decided to ask Peter to come on the show to see if he could convince me gold was a viable option. Here are some of the takeaways from my interview with Peter.
Today we discuss:

She’s been the leading lady on local tv for nearly 15 years and now, she is stepping into the next chapter. She’s also my leading lady in life and the Mama to our crazy kiddos. We sit down and she answers the ONE question EVERYBODY has asked us since she resigned from her position.
“How can you just leave a job? An income? Are you scared?”
Many of you know our debt free story and how we were buried under $52,000 in debt in 2010. For those that don’t, well, we tried to keep up with the Jones’ for too long and well, it got us in BIG trouble. Expensive cars, stacks of credit cards with racked up bills, way too much crap and trips we had no business going on. We HAD to make some serious changes.
We had to adopt many new habits and behaviors to get rid of the excess and the debt. We still live under those principles to this day. These habits are what made giving up an income and moving into our next chapter of life, completely possible.
During our interview, Andrea and I break down our Top 5 Money Hacks that we still live by today. We credit each one for helping to get us diminish our debt nearly 8 years ago, move into this next current phase of life and still manage to love each other BIG.
Today we discuss:
• The dreaded “B” Word...yep, BUDGET, I know, but it works...however, we have a fancy-schmancy way of spinning it so it feels awesome.
• The beauty of Sinking Funds aka little online piggy banks that make for saving for special treats easy and seamless.
• The importance of an Emergency Fund. Trust us, that AC unit will go out in June, in Phoenix, while it is 110 degrees outside.
• Old Cars. Yes, we drive 10 year old cars with 160k miles on them and we do not care what the peeps next door think.
• The “$100” rule. We adopted this years ago and it still happens, with every purchase. It’s a must.

How are we going to pay for social security AND how are we going to pay off this massive $21 Trillion of debt?
Is it possible that taxes could go up from their all-time lows of 2017?
Wait a minute….if taxes are at an all-time low and we forecast we may need to raise taxes in the future to pay for the government's financial mess….then does it make sense to save in a 401k today?
Are we avoiding having to pay very low taxes today so we can pay much higher taxes in retirement?

Travis Hornsby is the founder of StudentLoanPlanner - a website and community where thousands of people are saving millions of dollars in student loan interest payments.
Travis’s passion for this started when his physician wife was facing massive amounts of student loan debt and he started researching the most efficient ways to pay them off and how to take advantage of the programs the government has available (but forgets to tell us about).
Since starting Student Loan Planner in 2016, Travis has met with over 1,000 to help them pay off over $300 million in student loan debt and save over $60 million in interest payments.
I haven’t met anyone who knows more about the ins and out of student loans and how to ensure you’re paying them off in the most efficient way possible. In fact, there were a few things Travis mentions in our interview that I had never realized was even a possibility.
In the interview, Travis and I talk about:

In the blogging world, Jim Wang is one of the early pioneers turned blogging legend.
As a software engineer in 2005, Jim started blogging about how he set up his monthly budget, how he opened a retirement account, where he shopped for deals, and how he managed his everyday money.
It was his hobby.
Something he did on nights and weekends as a way for him to document everything he was doing financially while fulfilling a need for a hobby. His blog never made any money in the beginning because he was never trying to make money.
He just liked blogging.
However, over a few years of consistent posts on his blog, readers started catching on and over time his site began to grow.
And grow...and grow.
Then just five years later, a company offered Jim Wang $3 Million to buy his little “hobby blog” from him.
I of course needed to how this all happened, which is why I asked Jim to come on the show.
In this episode, Jim and I talk about…
• Getting started
• Going from hobby to business
• Why relationships are still important (even online)
• Consistent effort over time and how it related to Jim
• Restarting - Jim eventually started a second blog from the ground up
• On storytelling - facts tell and stories sell
• And more...

We get emails all the time about people wondering how to start their own blogs and how to make money from a blog.
The first thing I will tell them is it is definitely not a get-rich-quick business, it takes a ton of effort and a little bit (or a lot) of time.
Truth-be-told, I started Money Peach in March 2015 and didn’t see any revenue at all until December of that same year. I would imagine I put in close to 1,000 hours of blogging...not a great hourly rate in the beginning, right?!
Now, I definitely don’t share this to scare you away from blogging, because just like anything in life...the reward is often worth the wait! Today, I am extremely grateful that the newbie blogger in 2015 never gave up.
Today Money Peach provides a very incredible income for our family and it wouldn’t have ever happened with the labor of love in the very beginning.
But what about you and your blog, right?
This is why I am bringing on my good friend Pete McPherson - founder of “Do You Even Blog?” and an absolute expert and all-star when it comes to starting and monetizing your next blog idea.
Pete has been a blogger for over a decade and has literally had over 40 failed blogs before reaching a ton of success with Do You Even Blog?
Therefore, Pete knows a thing or two when it comes to starting a blog, growing a blog, and our favorite - MAKING MONEY through a blog. In fact, Pete is now generating just under $10,000 per month with his blog he started just 14 months ago.
In this episode, Pete and I talk about...
• How to get started even if you’re not quite sure where to start
• The best places to start for FREE
• Pete’s three tier approach to monetizing a blog
• Why Pete spends so much time building out the FREE stuff first on his blog
• How to monetize your blog when you have very little traffic
• The biggest mistakes newbie bloggers make and how to avoid them

Author, speaker, entrepreneur and money-behavior expert Darryl Lyons is on the show today to talk to the middle class about our behavior with money.
If you’re not on food stamps or you’re not vacationing on your yacht, then you and I both would be considered the middle class...and we have unique challenges.
All of us our continually hyper-marketed to on a daily basis to get us to spend our money on “stuff” right now and putting off any kind of delayed gratification.
Think about our credit cards, Amazon one-click, Apple-Pay, “Hey Alexa”, and all the other ways to spend money without really “feeling” money.
Genius, right?
But what happens when our spending doesn’t leave room for saving and we don’t save enough? Did you know that $1 million is no longer enough to retire with and saving 15% of your gross income still isn’t going to get you to your goals?
And how much should you have saved at each age (30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80…)?
How do you know when you have enough saved and what are things you should be doing to ensure you pivot into chapter two of life with enough to start chapter two.
During our interview Darryl and I go over…

Steve Valentine is a third generation real estate entrepreneur. From his start in the late 1990s, Steve created a real estate empire when the market was hot, everyone with a license could sell a home, and it almost felt like printing money.
Bill Gates was right when he said “Success is a Horrible Teacher” - this is exactly what happened to Steve. Things were going great, success seemed to be everywhere, and the business was becoming easier by the day.
That was until 2008.
In a blink of an eye, their business fell into shambles. They were way too far leveraged, couldn’t make their payments anymore, and lost everything.
Not only did they lose everything, but Steve was also facing over $1 million in debt - with a large majority of that debt owed to family, friends, and business partners.
He and his wife were completely broke, without an income, and had two young boys at home. They had become the example of “what not to do in business” and it was as transparent as can be - everyone was watching them and everyone knew what was happening to them.
Steve had a choice to make: do nothing or take massive levels of action.
In this episode, Steve and I talk about...

JV Ortiz is the founder of Six Figure Sneakerhead and he’s coming on the show to talk about an entire world I never knew about - the world of flipping sneakers.
Just like people who flip cars, flip houses, or buy and sell any kind of valuable goods, there is a fast growing demand for tennis shoes and the amount of money people are willing to pay for them is insane….well, actually it’s amazing :)
Within the first 6 months of starting his shoe-flipping business, JV was able to create a comfortable 5-figure-per-month income which has allowed him to travel the world while still working his business.
In fact, during our interview, JV was 14 hours ahead of where I was and did this interview in the middle of the night from Thailand!
In this episode, JV and I discuss...
• Why there is such a high demand for sneakers
• How to determine the value of sneakers
• What shoes are in high demand right now and why
• Software and websites you can utilize to make money flipping shoes
• How you can get started with a sneaker side hustle for less than $40 and a few hours per week

Chris Prefontaine comes on the show to break down how to get 3 separate paydays as a real estate investor while using the strategy of facilitating a lease to own property.
Together Chris and I break down how it works and why he has had so much success with creating three unique revenue streams. Chris will also explain why he will match his way of doing real estate against any other model and why his will always outperform the others.
Yes, this may sound confusing at first but you can guarantee I asked Chris a ton of questions and even had him break down a real-world scenario using real numbers. You’re really going to like how we simplified the process to understand over the podcast and how we added the example into the show notes for this episode.
During the interview, Chris and I talk about:
• What is a lease to own
• Why a lease to own is an option for buyers
• What kind of sellers look for a lease to own option
• Payday #1, Payday #2, and Payday #3
• The average initial investment required
• What are the risks and challenges of lease to own
• Who this is not for

Today is a replay of the most popular and most listened to episode of the past 104 episodes of the Money Peach Podcast.
My guest is John Gaston from Episode 38 back in April 2017. John is a close friend of mine, an extremely successful entrepreneur, and was able to retire at age 34.
John is also my one-on-one mentor when it comes to my building own business and over the past few years John has shared a lot with me and I've begged him to come on the podcast to share his incredible story.
John is very humble and also very private, so for him to come on this podcast took a lot of arm-twisting on my part. Some of the things John will share with us are:
My Favorite Quotes from this Episode “The most successful people in the world read 15 mins every single day”
“...I remember hearing if I read 15 minutes every single day, I could all but guarantee I would double my income in one year, and then I did”
“Every decision you make in your business could be the decision that takes you closer to your goal, or could be the decision that puts you on the streets”
“Everyone works for 40 years (age 20 to age 60). The idea of being successful is cramming 40 years of work into 20...and if you’re really extra bright, 15 years…”
“The idea was to do all the things most people weren’t willing to do today so I didn’t have to do them later”
“...never quit. You’re going to have good days and you’re going to have bad days. If you don’t quit, you’re going to eventually find success”
“Water boils at 212°F - think about how many entrepreneurs probably quit at 211°F . They were so close and yet never made it - never quit”
“If you can get 1% better everyday….over a period of 12 months you are 365% better, and that is a substantial improvement.”

Up until recently, real estate investing was only an option for the top 1% income earner - meaning the average Joe investor had to overcome a steep price tag to cross the barrier of entry into real estate investing.
Those days are now officially over.
My guest on the show is Craig Cecilia, real estate investor, expert crowdfunder, and founder of Diversyfund.
I asked Craig to come on the show to discuss how crowdfunding works, why it’s so accessible for everyone, and how technology is making it even more affordable for the everyday investor.
During our interview, Craig and I discuss...

Pam Andrews is a College Admissions Coach and Scholarship Strategist, but more importantly she helped her son earn over $700,000 in scholarship money to pay for both undergraduate and graduate school!
This is $700,000 in money that her son WILL NOT have to pay back in the form of student loans.
How did she do it? This is exactly why I asked Pam to come on the show. As a parent of two kids and the 5% inflation rate for college tuition, I needed to know EXACTLY how her son was able to get that kind of money to put towards the undergrad and the graduate college of his choice.
During our interview, she shares…

You have probably seen the numerous different sites offering to get you out of your timeshare, right?
The first rule is this: if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is too good to be true.
Which is why I interviewed timeshare exit expert, Gordon Newton, to explain how these timeshare exit scams work and what you need to be aware of.
Some of the topics Gordon and I touch on:
• Why timeshares are so hard to get out of
• How to avoid high-pressure selling from timeshare companies
• How can timeshare-exit companies really offer money-back guarantee?
• How the “guarantee” actually costs you more money in the long run
• What happens when sign the dotted line
Gordon is also giving away his free 16 page guide called “The Consumer's Guide to TimeShare Exit” which is an incredible resource for anyone who owns a timeshare!

Financial planning shouldn’t just be for the uber wealthy.
Chris Hutchins is coming on the show to talk about the problem we are beginning to face when it comes to getting professional financial planning advice: the cost.
A financial plan takes time to complete and that time costs $2,500 on average...and all that gets you is a one-time plan.
In addition, our lives have changed over the past few decades and fewer people are working a 30-year career, retiring with a pension, and then living happily ever after.
Instead, what you see today is a constant move in careers, changes in life plans, moving all over the country/world, and countless other changes that are much different than what was once the norm.
And each time you make a life change, is it fair to have to spend $2,500 to adjust your plan with a financial planner?
Heck no!
Basically there are three different ways to get professional financial wealth building advice:
During the interview, Chris and I talk about:
• When the cookie-cutter approach to personal finance is actually a better plan
• The problem when you try to apply only a robo-advisor to life and money
• What life looks life for today’s investor
• The challenges that people will face in the future in terms of investing
• How to create an affordable plan fitting your lifestyle now and in the future

Today I am not bringing on a guest and we are taking a week away from talking about money.
Instead, we are shifting to talk about the one thing I feel everyone needs in their lives at any stage of life: A Mastermind.
What the heck is a Mastermind? To make it as simple as possible: a Mastermind group is a group of 5-7 people who get together on a regular basis to work towards individual goals within the group, while using the group and a vehicle for achieving the highest level of success in whatever you’re working towards.
I say this with confidence: I would not have the level of success I have today (in all areas of life) if it wasn’t for the two Mastermind groups I am part of.
On the show I break down:
• The definition of a Mastermind
• Examples of Mastermind groups for you to get started with
• The steps to forming your own Mastermind
• What kind of people to include in you Mastermind
• How to structure you Mastermind once you have your group
• How often you should be meeting
• What are some of the do’s and don’ts of Masterminds?
I also will be giving away a PDF cheat sheet to help you brainstorm and get started with your own Mastermind group!
Thanks so much for listening and enjoy the show!

Co-founder and CEO of Blooom, Chris Costello, on the show today to talk about your 401(k), 401(a), 403(b), 457 or TSP.
Chris spent his entire life in the financial advising world and now he’s blowing the whistle on the crap that he says has been going on for way too long.
He’s talking about the outrageous fees, the terms no one understands (or is supposed to understand), and the ridiculous amount of greed the folks from Wall Street posses when handling your retirement funds.
In 2013, he founded Blooom which he coins as the new way to 401(k).
Chris is extremely passionate about investing and saving for your future and he doesn’t disappoint. We may have had to “BLEEEP” him out a few times during the show, but I completely get it - he’s seen these maniacs ripping people off for way too long and it’s time for a change.
On the show we discuss:
• The terminology “they” don’t want you to understand
• We break down dollar-cost averaging
• We discuss the one thing you MUST be doing that results in thousands (and thousands) of dollars more in YOUR retirement
• Moving the needle financially for the middle-class, not the 1%
• How Blooom connects to your 401(k), 403(b), 457, 401(a), or your TSP
• Fees, fees, and more fees - how much are you really paying?
• The Blooom model - $10/month flat fee. Period.

Michelle was completely normal….and it sucked.
She lived the American Dream and attended college with the false belief that everyone graduates college, gets a 6-figure job, and lives happily ever after.
Except….it didn’t work out that way.
Instead, Michelle graduated college with $50k worth of student loan debt. Instead of landing a 6-figure salary, she lands a job making $25k per year while living in New York City.
Then she had to move in with her parents and things started going from hopeful to hopeless quickly.
Now the good news: Michelle decided enough was enough and changed the way she looked at money forever.
In fact, Michelle took massive levels of action and paid down her $50k in student loans over the next five years.
And now she’s sharing her story with us!
Here are some of the other topics we discussed during our interview:

My guest on the show today is Mark Podolsky, AKA “The Land Geek”
Mark is an expert in land….which may sound pretty boring until you understand how much he is making by buying and holding onto land.
Mark is going to explain to us why he believes the best form of passive income is through raw land right here in the United States and how you don’t need thousands of dollars to get started. In fact, Mark has done over 5,500 land deals and the very first one started with only a few hundred dollars!
Here are just a few things Mark and I talk about in this episode:

I am bringing my friend Carrie Olsen onto the show to talk about her very unique career she has created for herself as a voiceover actress.
Fun Fact: When I met Carrie she was traveling across the United States with her husband and newborn in a motorhome and made a pit stop in Phoenix. At that time she had turned the RV shower into a recording booth and she was working as a voiceover actress on the road!
Carrie has worked extremely hard to get to where she is today, but she also believes anyone can become a voiceover actor...especially with the lack of voiceover actors and the demand of voiceover in anything from commercials you hear on Pandora to the voice of the automated checkout cashier at the grocery store.
Here are some of the things Carrie and I discuss in this episode:

The founder and CEO of Lenda comes on the show to share how his company is fixing the broken mortgage system.
If you have gone through the process of getting a loan or going through a re-fi, you know first-hand the process is absolutely ridiculous, takes way too long, and is about as confusing as possible.
The truth is: it’s designed this way. The less you understand, the more you will pay.
Jason comes on the show and explains how he started off inside the mortgage industry and quickly realized how great it was for the banks and lenders, and how horrible it was for us - the consumer.
Over the past five years, Jason has continued to improve and change the way homeowners are going through the most expensive financial decisions of their lives - the mortgage process.
On the show Jason and I talk about:

Over 70% of students will leave college with over $32,000 in student loan debt.
This means roughly one in seven people you know in the United States has a student loan and the total student loan debt is now over $44 million as a country.
This sucks.
But what if there was someone out there promising you can attend a good school, get your degree, and walk away without a penny in student loan debt?
Meet Jordan Hall.
Jordan is my guest on the show today to explain just how to do it. Jordan is a lawyer who defied the odds and graduated debt free while most people in his profession will leave with more than $140k in student loans.
Here are just a few things Jordan and I talk about in this episode:

Before financial services, she was the spokesperson for ABC's Extreme Makeover show, appearing in magazines such as Elle, People and TV Guide. Kine also appeared on shows like Good Morning America, Entertainment Tonight and Oprah.

I am beyond excited to have the founder Investor Junkie come on the show to share the ins and out on the different investment strategies we all have available to us. We break down the differences between robo-advisors vs your traditional advisors, the top micro-savings apps, passive real estate investing and even dive into peer to peer lending.
On a side note, much of the research we do on Money Peach for investing advice starts with Investor Junkie. The reason why we choose them over the other sites is the because of Larry - he is your brilliant investor-friend down the street instead of the suit walking down Wall-Street.
He and his team have done an amazing job breaking down and explaining how investing really can be for everyone and there is never just one right or wrong way - it depends on what you like and what you’re comfortable with.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the show:
Robo-Advisors - Good or bad and what about the future?
Micro Investing Apps - Which one is the best and why?
Real estate - How have the barriers of entry have been lifted for the new investor?
Peer to Peer Lending - Is it safe and who’s doing the best right now?

Did you know there are basically four different budgeting techniques to use with the everyday money. They are: the cash envelope system, the survival budget, the balanced money formula and the budget burn down.
If you’ve been a long-time listener, you know I am huge fan of the cash envelope system when you’re first getting started with forming a plan for your money. However, this doesn’t mean it’s a budgeting technique you have to develop and use forever.
This week Jeff Whelpley, the co-founder of Swish, is coming on the show to talk about the BUDGET BURN DOWN technique - which may be a great fit for you.
To give you a glimpse of how the burn down budget works, think of a fuel gauge on your car. Now, instead of gas and miles, think of money and life. If this doesn’t quite make sense yet --no worries. We will dive deep into the Budget Burn Down in this week’s episode.
Here’s what you can expect from this week’s interview:

We are taking the week off, but bringing back the interview with George Laughton.
George and his wife Jennifer started the Laughton Team in 2007 and have steadily climbed to become one of the top real estate agents in the entire United States.
In fact, George is not only a top 1% real estate agent across the country, but he was also the youngest person to ever be inducted into the RE/MAX Hall of Fame.
With that said, I didn’t want to bring George on the show to talk about his success, but rather to discuss WHY he has been so successful.

Michael Dinich from YourMoneyGeek.com is coming on the show to talk about one of the most hated topics when it comes to your money: INSURANCE
Michael is an expert in the health insurance world and I asked him to come on the show to explain how insurance works in and to please explain it in terms we can all understand.
By the way, did you know the #1 cause of bankruptcy today is directly related to medical debt? And if you think about it, what has become one of the largest expenses inside the monthly budget each month?
If you said health insurance, you’d be exactly right.
During this interview, Michael and I discuss:

Mary Wheeler shares her incredible story of how she paid off $30,000 worth of debt in only 96 days.
Yes, you read correctly - ninety-six days.
Meet Mary Wheeler - founder of Abundant Wealth Solutions and a financial coach helping people destroy their student loan debt so they can create their own gateway towards REAL financial freedom.
Just like many of us, Mary didn’t start off a financial rockstar. She shares how she grew up in the projects of Mississippi and always had to struggle to simply get by. She carried this belief of money with her into her adulthood and graduated college with $30,000 worth of debt and no plan to pay it off.
After a few years of making interest-only payments and struggling to get by, she realized she would have to change the way she handled money if she wanted to change her life and her family tree.
In the interview, Mary and I talk about:

Fellow blogger and founder of Millennial Money Man, Bobby Hoyt has a lot in common with me. We both paid off quite a bit of debt in a very short amount of time, and we both did it the same way - with SACRIFICE.
However, one of the main things we both completely agree on is how much we both value our mentors.
Bobby shares how and where he met his mentor and how his life and business have completely transformed since they started working together.
I chime in quite a bit on the conversation because of the belief I have in finding someone you can look up to in business, relationships, goal-setting, family, etc., and asking them the tough question: “would you become my mentor”.
In fact, if you haven’t listened yet, I interviewed John (the person I meet with on a regular basis) in April 2017 in Episode 38: Retired by 34? With John Gaston
During the episode, Bobby and I talk about:

We are taking the week off of recording and wanted share a REPLAY of one of our favorite and most popular episodes from the podcast - my interview with Rich Habits Author, Tom Corley.
In 2013, I was listening to the Dave Ramsey Show on the radio when he brought up an incredible book called Rich Habits by author Tom Corley.
After hearing about the book, and then listening to the interview with Mr. Corley, I immediately purchased the book and finished it that evening.
The Rich Habits were so powerful in my own life that I have continued to practice those same ten habits from the thousands of millionaires Tom interviewed for his research for his book all these years later.
What are the habits of America’s wealthiest people and what are the habits of the America’s poorest people? Some of what we talk about is obvious, however Tom shares some stories of other habits that none of us would ever even think about. My favorite…”the Hello Call”
Tom Corley is not only an incredible guest to have on the show, but he shares habits you can start creating in your own life right now which will have a direct correlation on your income, net worth, financial security, and overall well-being.
All the show notes, links, and anything Tom and I mentioned can be found at http://www.moneypeach.com/session85

“Seth” - my very own financial advisor - comes on to say what most advisors won't.
Since most professionals in the financial industry are so highly regulated, “Seth” agreed to come on the show if we kept his identity a secret.
Now that he's anonymous, he is able to drop a ton of value including what you should be asking your advisor, how fees are structured, and some of the biggest mistakes he sees new clients make.
During our interview, I ask Seth:
• Explain how robo-advising works
• When robo-advising is not a good fit
• How to know whether or not your advisor has a plan or not
• What questions you should be asking your next financial advisor
• What should you be talking to your current advisor about
As a BONUS, this episode comes with a PDF Cheat Sheet I asked “Seth” create, which will come in very handy when you're getting ready to interview your next advisor.
By the end of the episode, you'll have a much better understanding of how financial advisors are paid, common fees you can expect, and what you should not be paying for at all.

Kayla Sloan has been my virtual assistant since the very beginning of Money Peach. There is so much that goes into creating blog content, putting together a weekly podcast, helping students inside the Awesome Money Course, and making sure it all goes smoothly. Without Kayla, there’s no possible way I could get all of this done and still work as a full-time firefighter.
Recently I have had a few people ask me how they could generate extra income every month to pay off debt faster, to cover their mortgage, to buy groceries, or to simply just have a little fun with money!
That’s where Kayla comes in. You see, Kayla didn’t go to college to become a virtual assistant and she doesn’t have a background in information technology. Instead she simply helps people with whatever they need online...and now just a few years later she’s making over $10,000 every single month by doing so!
During our interview, I ask Kayla:
• How she get started as a virtual assistant • How she first began reaching out to potential clients • What her rates were in the beginning versus now • How long it took her to quit her full-time day-job to work as a V.A. • What tools and resources she recommends to get started

Vincent Pugliese rose to fame among the photography world when he became one of the best sports photographers in the world. During his career he has filmed Superbowls, World Series, Stanley Cup finals, multiple Presidents of the United States, and many of the defining moments in history we are all familiar with.
Vincent was one of the very best in his field, but there was only one problem: he was making $30k/year and there wasn’t much room for him to make more in his field of work. In addition, he was facing $140k in debt with a new baby to take care of.
“Vincent, you have a skill, but you’re not using it correctly.”
These was the words of his father which would have a lasting impact on him and change his life forever.
Vincent didn’t leave the world of photography but instead made a pivot of the way he would use his skills to generate income.
That pivot allowed him to go from making $30k in a year to literally $30k in a day which eventually led him to become fully debt-free...he even paid off the mortgage!
In this episode, Vincent and I discuss:

Robert was the guy in his econ class in college sitting in the back with his laptop open and updating his blog. Today he blogs full-time on his site, The College Investor, which has over 1 million visitors per month and generates 7 figures in revenue per year.
But Robert didn’t start there, did he?
Instead, Robert graduated college and went to work for all places - Target. He actually worked his way up as store manager while all along he was building this “little blog” on the side. The story in between all of this is what we talk about on today’s show!

My good friend Nick Loper from the Side Hustle Nation Podcast on the show to talk about generating income NOW.
Nick founded Side Hustle Nation back in 2013 as a weekly show to feature people from all different backgrounds who were dedicating themselves to side hustling.
At the time of our interview, Nick has recorded 260 shows and has one of the most popular business podcasts in iTunes.
During our interview, I ask Nick:

Colin Jones, founder of Blackjack Apprenticeship, on the show this week to share his crazy story of going from flat broke to generating a very high income by counting cards in Blackjack.
Yes, it sounds absolutely crazy and it was hard for me to digest when I first heard about his story. But, after meeting Colin in person and asking him everything I possibly could, I asked him to share his story.
Colin and I both agree that gambling is dumb. Sure, it’s fun and can be a form of entertainment, but NEVER count on it as a way to provide income.
This is where Colin comes in - he is adamant that he doesn’t gamble. Instead, he is investing in the game of Blackjack and has an actual advantage over the house. This may also be the reason why he as been asked to leave countless casinos over the past decade for “winning too much”.
I ask Colin a bunch of questions I am sure you’re wondering too. Here are some of the main points we hit:
• Gambling vs Investing - I needed an explanation here
• How long it takes to realistically count cards
• Is it even legal (or just frowned upon)
• Building his card counting team and generating $4 Million
• His advice for anyone thinking about getting started
• Success stories and huge losses along the way
• The church group of card counters - “The Holy Rollers”
• Free resources where you can learn to count cards too

Founder of Stash Wealth Priya Malani on the show to talk H.E.N.R.Y’s - High Earners Not Rich Yet.
Priya spent the first part of her career helping very wealthy individuals manage their high net worth in retirement and she came to one conclusion - IT WAS SUPER BORING!
Priya made the pivot and decided she start her own firm called Stash Wealth in order to focus all of her efforts on the people she could help the most - people just like herself.
“We are not your Father’s Financial Advisor”
The millennial generation isn’t interested in cutting back life and living on rice and beans. They are extreme hustlers, they can generate income in a minute, and they want to save, invest, pay off debt, AND have ridiculous amounts of fun.
In the show we talked about:
• Defining who the H.E.N.R.Y.s are
• Profit first
• Best Online Savings Account
• Hating on Budgets (can you believe this?)
• Emergency Funds for the H.E.N.R.Y.
• What are some of the biggest mistakes to avoid as a H.E.N.R.Y.
Fun Fact: Priya and I don’t agree on everything, but that’s okay - it makes for a fun conversation!
Fun Fact 2: We had to use the heck out of the BLEEP Button on this one :)

Kelly’s mission is to give women the tools to overcome the problem of having a closet full of clothes, but nothing you want to wear. She isn’t about the latest and greatest trends, but rather focuses on finding clothes that make women feel confident, regardless of age.
Now of course Kelly didn’t come on the show to share her fashion trends with a 34-your man who wears gym clothes everyday!
I asked Kelly to come on the show to share how she started her business from an idea about fashion, to become a high-level earner inside this online business in the first two years.
On the show we discuss:
• What she recommends everyone does first before they actually start
• Why even the people who test her products still have to pay to play
• How she creates challenges to generate buzz about her idea
• Why her services are only offered a few times per year
• How she has built a team to drive the overall mission vs just working for dollars
• A special GIFT for the Money Peach listeners - HINT: Think big discount

On the show we discuss:

Jennifer Barrett is the Chief Education Officer for Acorns and the Editor in Chief for Grow.
Jennifer is incredibly smart, knows how to move up the ranks in business, and is a high-income earner. In fact, for the past 8 years she has been the primary breadwinner of their family of four.
And it’s been a struggle.
I asked Jennifer to come on the show to share her struggles with being a full-time working mom and how she had to make that pivot in life to start thinking like a breadwinner.
On the show we discuss:
• What it feels like being a working mom in today’s world
• How she manages work vs mom vs wife vs life
• The risks she had to take to make it all work
• Not being with her kids as much as she would like
• What she has learned along the way
• The takeaway of becoming the female breadwinner

Co-founder and CEO of Blooom, Chris Costello, on the show today to talk about your 401(k).
The link Chris mentions in the show is for the first month FREE is: www.blooom.com/moneypeach

Kim and Cressel Anderson have an incredible story.
Like many of us, they were just going through the motions and asking themselves if there was more to life than driving hours each way to their corporate America job, only to wake up and do it all over again every single day.
That’s when they decided to make a change and do something absolutely crazy….make it their mission to go completely debt free inside their 20s!
I asked both of them:

I asked Liran Amrany, the CEO of the NYC-based company Debitize to come on the show to share how he as officially solved the problem of grabbing all the credit card rewards without worrying about carrying a credit card balance.
Debitize is now the company turning your credit card into a debit card for FREE. He will explain exactly how it all works, the security behind it, and the benefits of automating the process, but I wanted to much more than just the product he created.
During the interview, I asked Liran:
BONUS: What is he willing to give Money Peach listeners (hint: $10 for FREE)

Phillip Taylor, AKA PT Money, and I sit down at FINCON 2017 from Dallas, TX. Fincon is the conference PT actually started in 2011 as a way for people inside the world of financial blogging to come together and create a community that had never been created until then.
Fast forward just a few years later, and FINCON started to take on it’s own identity. Lifelong friendships have formed, small blogs have turned into multi-million dollar media empires, and the people who attend now label themselves FINCONNERS.
Which is why the conference continues to grow each year, with over 1,700 people flying into Dallas to be part of what FINCON 2017.

Saving for kids college can seem impossible when you’re living paycheck-to-paycheck, trying to pay off debt, thinking about planning for retirement, and wondering how you’re going to make it until next payday.

Deacon Hayes from WellKeptWallet.com on the show today and I could not be more excited!
Why?
Well, I often tell people Deacon is the “Dad” of Money Peach because it was a meeting with Deacon over a cup of coffee in the corner of Starbucks where the idea for Money Peach was born.
Fast forward over the past few years and Deacon and I are great friends AND now we are also in the same niche within our businesses. However, what makes our relationship so unique is we have never viewed each other as competition, but rather as allies who are consistently trying to help one another out.
Deacon started his blog (Well Kept Wallet) in 2010 and since then has grown his blog into a healthy 6-figure business, multiple streams of income, and now the release of his new book, “You Can Retire Early”.
Deacon is my favorite kind of entrepreneur - the kind who has consistently worked his butt off for years, has gone through a ton of ups and downs, and is now seen as an overnight success….seven years in the making.
Deacon shares how he has done it all and holds nothing back for you to learn and get you to take that next step in whatever it may be.

Whitney Hansen from the Money Nerds Podcast comes on the show to share her no B.S. debt-free story which led her into starting her own business in the personal finance world.
Right out of college, Whitney decided to do the unpopular thing - sacrifice a lot early on in life to live the life she had always dreamed of.
I ask Whitney to come on the show to talk about:

On the show we talk about:
• How Jason started his entrepreneurship journey
• How Lenda speeds up the process of getting a loan
• Getting instant approval versus giving all of your information only to be told you weren’t approved
• What’s next for Lenda over the next year (this is cool)

Michelle Schroeder-Gardner is one in a million. In 2011 she had started her blog Making Sense of Cents as a hobby to share her ideas of how she was managing the money in her early 20s. It wasn’t until after six months of blogging for fun, she was told by a friend she could actually make a few bucks through her blog.
Six months later she made her first $100 and began to realize there was room for growth. Fast forward to 2017 and she is consistently earning over $100,000 every single month from her blog! Not only is she generating an incredible income from her laptop, she is also doing all of this while living in an RV full-time with her husband so they can travel all over the United States.
I wanted Michelle to come on the show to share how she is as normal as normal can be, yet she also has such an incredible accomplishment - financial freedom and the ability to live the life many only dream about.
During the interview, I ask...

“Inoperable brain cancer”.
These were the words spoken by the team of doctors who met with Andy and her family to share with her the devastating news of what was causing her extreme and sudden headaches.
Andy Ptacek; wife, daughter, friend, and mother of two small boys would now be facing the greatest challenge any of us could ever imagine - defeating brain cancer.
The Backstory: Andy and her husband were featured on the Money Peach Blog in the very early days when the blog was first started. They had an amazing success story of paying off $75k of debt in only 7 months (see link for show notes below).
A year after paying down their debt, they would soon face an even greater challenge: an inoperable tumor found on the outside of Andy’s brain.
The good news: After multiple attempts to have Andy to share her NEW success story, she finally gave in and agreed to the interview. She knew this would be a tough conversation and asked her husband Bruce to sit in with us during our conversation (you will notice him pop in the background of the interview).
During our conversation, Andy shares her view on what really matters most in life when you stare into the eyes of what she perceived as her own mortality.
• What did Andy promise herself when she was diagnosed?
• How did she find the strength and motivation to stay positive through it all?
• What happened that caused her to almost give up?
• What did she do just 1 year after brain surgery? (This will absolutely shock you!)
Note: Many of you may be asking why I would interview Andy’s story of survival on the Money Peach Podcast. This is a fair enough question and you will understand why in the end.
Hint: Money touches every aspect of your life. Even the parts you never think about...like inoperable brain cancer.

Mark Asher was once co-host of the #1 sports radio talk show in Arizona. He made up half of the “Gambo and Ash Show”, the local drive-time afternoon radio program where local sports dominated the airwaves for the drivers of Arizona.
It’s unheard of for a radio show to last 5 years in today’s world and the Gambo and Ash Show went on for 12 years. But as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end. Their radio show was #1, Mark was living out his dream, and life was great - until one afternoon when he came in and was fired in a blink of an eye.
I asked Mark to come on the show to share what it’s like to go from #1 and on top of the world, to then having your life completely flipped upside down in a blink of an eye.
However, just like every good story, there is a happy ending that Mark never imagined happening.

I received an email from Brian Winch of CleanLots and he told me, “I’ve been cleaning up litter in and around commercial properties for over 30 years and I’ve been earning a 6 figure income from it.”
Wow! That is an email I’ll read all day long!
I decided to head on over to his website and sure enough this guy started a side hustle back in 1981 and now generates an incredible income doing what he calls “walking around parking lots and picking up trash”.
Since one of the most common questions I receive is “how can I earn extra money to…..?” I decided to bring Brian on the show to share how anyone (literally a-n-y-o-n-e) can start their own litter pickup service and generate income right away.
I ask Brian…
• To share his story
• What is the first step if someone were to get started today?
• How much can one really earn when getting started?
• Why there is the need for people to pick up litter?
• How many hours per week and when can you put in the work?
• How can we find out more?

Dr. Eric and Dr. Tami Hefferon come on the show this week after two years of dry needling, cupping, stretching, and fixing me up on a monthly basis (due to my own lack of stretching before CrossFit).
They are the husband and wife co-founders of a rapidly growing physical therapy center, Impact Physical Therapy, with a “fan base” of clients who willingly bypass their health insurance to get treatment from Impact PT on a cash-only basis.
After each session, I learn something more than just how to stretch properly and avoid injury. They are absolutely brilliant in attempting new ways to reach as many new customers as possible and their strategies are something very few are willing to test.
BONUS:
The Hefferons are completely transparent about their student loan debt, their credit card story, and the challenges they are still overcoming in order to be a true success story. As much success as they have had, there have been a lot of low moments they have had to endure as well.

Janelle Diller is the co-founder and co-author of of Pack n Go Girls - the popular children's books series for 6 to 9 year-old-girls. Janelle has an amazing story of how she grew up traveling the world on an average income and how she took a passion for writing and combined it with her love of world culture.
During the interview, Janelle share how her co-founder Lisa have not only created a thriving business, but how they are expanding the world for young readers so they can better understand the diversity of cultures and the richness each one contributes to the world.

Steve Chou is one of the most brilliant guys I know.
I met Steve at a conference a few years ago and I have been impressed ever since. This guy is the epitome of hard work meeting opportunity and then combining it with extremely high-level thinking.
I asked Steve to come on the show to share his story of working a 9am-5pm job as an engineer while at the same time generating $100k profit in his ecommerce “side hustle” within his first year in business!
Fast forward to today, and Steve is now generating 7 figures inside both his ecommerce store AND his now very popular blog - “My Wife Quit Her Job”.
Bonus: Out of all the guests we have had on this show so far, Steve was the first to share why or why not you should either start an ecommerce store (selling physical products over the internet) or start a blog like he also did and the why behind each piece of advice. Listening to Steve’s answer was my favorite takeaway of the interview.
Behind the scenes: Steve and I have played basketball together before and he definitely has some skills on the court. However, just one week before this recording he tore his achilles tendon playing hoop and still agreed to do interview while completely laid up and even in some mild pain.

Jonathan Barkl is the Co-founder and CEO of AirGarage, Inc., a new app connecting homeowners and businesses to those looking for affordable parking.
Jonathan is also 20 years old…
I asked Jonathan to come on the show to share his incredible story of how he went from creating a $500 per hour side hustle in high school to then attending college AND starting a business which has already changed the trajectory of his life forever.
Jonathan explains how he went from a problem he personally had with parking on college campuses, to creating a solution, and then providing an incredible new opportunity for everyone involved.
The broke college student can now find affordable parking, the homeowner can now generate income via their own driveway, and AirGarage generates revenue by connecting the dots.
How does it exactly work, what does Jonathan do everyday that very few (including college students) do, and what does the future look like for AirGarage?
You are going to hear it all and be absolutely amazed and inspired by this 20-year-old’s drive for success.

Amanda Walker from awalkmyway.com is a successful nutritional coach who has had tremendous growth in her business and has even created a cult-like following in her first year as a macros coach.
I ask Amanda to tell her story of leaving her job as a schoolteacher to pursue her passion as a successful entrepreneur in the niche of nutritional coaching - specifically macros coaching.
What is macros coaching?
Amanda explains what “tracking your macros” actually means, why it is important for everyone to “macro”, and why this has become such a popular trend over the past few years. Whether you are a new mom trying to get back into shape or a power lifter trying to build more muscle, tracking your macros is a must.
Much like I said many times in regards to your money - what gets measured gets managed - the same holds true for your nutritional goals as well.
All the show notes, links, and anything Amanda and I mentioned can be found at http://www.moneypeach.com/session54
Speaker, author, and Ramsey personality, Chris Hogan comes on the show today to share his story and talk all about retirement.
Chris has an amazing story of how he went from winning a football national championship in college, to working in the banking industry, and then later joining Dave Ramsey’s team as one of Dave’s Ramsey personalities.
I also asked Chris to come on the show to talk about his passion - the do’s and don’ts of retiring wealthy.
Chris has made quite a name for himself by looking at retirement from a different perspective - “...retirement is no longer an age...it’s a number”.
Behind the scenes - interviewing Chris was a little surreal for me. Before today, the only interaction I had with Chris Hogan was after I waited in line for an hour to get an autograph and picture with him after attending one of his shows here in Phoenix a few years back.
All the show notes, links, and anything Chris and I mentioned can be found at http://www.moneypeach.com/session53
A few months ago I came across this really incredible FinTech (Financial Technology) software called Trim.
Trim does many things like sending me a message letting me know how many subscriptions I have active, how much I am (over) paying, and even allows me to cancel anything and everything with one push of a button!
The way I think about Trim is this: it’s the virtual assistant in the background of my life, working 24/7 for free, and making me look like a financial rockstar when it comes to the everyday money.
Which is why I wanted to talk to the man behind Trim - Thomas Smyth. Thomas is my favorite kind of entrepreneur. He took an idea running around in his head, gave it a direction, and created an incredible product with a very strong WHY behind it - to automate our good financial habits so we can focus on the things in life we would much rather focus on...versus spending an hour on the phone with the cable company negotiating a bill (Trim does this).
To see all Trim can do for you, check out http://moneypeach.com/trim

My favorite…”the Hello Call”.
Tom Corley is not only an incredible guest to have on the show, but he shares habits you can start creating in your own life right now which will have a direct correlation on your income, net worth, financial security, and overall well-being.
All the show notes, links, and anything Tom and I mentioned can be found at http://www.moneypeach.com/session51
This is a special day for me and this show - the 50th episode!
If you have been listening for a while, you may have noticed a common theme with many of the guests: I either met them at or through the “gym”.
I decided to tie all of those guests together by inviting the founders and owners of the CrossFit gym I attend - Brian and Lisa Vayda.
In 2012, they were taking a road trip and started dreaming about taking their passion and turning into a business. A few months later, that dream would become a reality. And within a year, the reality was this: they had created the second largest Crossfit gym in the entire state of Arizona!
During the interview, we break down why they were able to achieve such a high level of success early on and how they almost lost everything right at the peak of it all. We discuss the ups and downs in starting and keeping the gym alive and some the greatest challenges we all face as entrepreneurs.
One of the biggest takeaways from the episode is the very personal story about one of the toughest moments inside their journey as husband and wife entrepreneurs, and how they were able to push through when many of us would have called it quits.
Here is the list of interviews from this CrossFit gym:
Episode 42: Morning Routines, Extreme Focus, and Non-Stop Learning with George Laughton
Episode 38: Retired at 34?! - with John Gaston
Episode 36: Innovate or Die, with Jason Beck
Episode 34: PD S.W.A.T. Officer Goes Debt Free
Episode 29: How to Interview Your Next Financial Advisor
Episode 28; Payment Shock and “Oh Crap!” Mortgage Mistakes

Leisa Peterson from Wealth Clinic comes on the show to share her story of how she went from working her way up the corporate ladder to completely walking away from it all and going after her dreams as an entrepreneur - both as a business coach and money coach.
She shares with us the two unbelievable events she had to endure that will literally leave you speechless (during the recording I was also speechless but my producer did a great job of editing the awkward pause out of the show).
Also, we talk about something I have NEVER shared before about myself - meditation. I am a HUGE believer in daily meditation and Leisa and I talk about our own meditation practices; why we continue to do it daily, and the results we have each seen and felt in our own lives.
BONUS:
Leisa is giving away her WealthFlower Assesment for being a listener of the show. I highly recommend this tool to walk you through the step-by-step method of finding exactly what you want in both life and money and how you will create a plan to achieve it. Best part - it’s FREE!

Monica recently joined Money Peach as my Facebook Ads coach. We meet twice a week and not only is she helping me understand how to use Facebook Ads to grow my business, she has provided an incredible amount of value in other areas of Money Peach as well.
Before we start each coaching call, we usually chit-chat for a few minutes, and just last week she mentioned to me how their family recently paid off $120k in 2 years. Wow!
Then we started talking about her business as a Facebook Ads coach and how she had to make the pivot from blogger to coach in order to grow her business at a rapid rate.
Lastly, Monica and I were talking about how Facebook Ads are the absolute best way to grow your business, especially when you are just getting started. But, what should you do first and how should you do it?
And this is exactly what this episode does…
BONUS: Monica is giving away a Facebook Ads Cheat Sheet Guide inside the episode!

Andy Hill is making noise inside the personal finance world. He is the founder of the Marriage, Kids, and Money (MKM) Podcast and the MKM Blog. Recently, I was a guest on Andy’s show when he mentioned to me about paying off all of his debt, including the mortgage, by age 35.
Yes, completely debt free by age 35...holy crap!
I wanted him to come on the show to share how he and his family are making the sacrifices now to pay off everything so they can soon live completely free from debt. Also, Andy does not make a million dollars, he isn’t a trust fund baby, and he has a Monday - Friday job. From the outside looking in, Andy and his wife appear completely normal.
However, they are far from it. How many 35-year-olds do we meet who have paid off their mortgage?
Lastly, if Andy and his wife can turn their dream into a reality, then what is stopping you and I? Andy and I talk about that inside the show...

Joshua Smith from GSD Mode comes on the show and absolutely delivers a ton of value. You will quickly notice he has an incredible amount of energy, which is exactly why he has achieved success in all aspects of life, and at an extremely high level.
Joshua was voted top 30th Realtor in America by the Wall Street Journal and recognized as the top 1% Realtor worldwide
Joshua also has established an incredible following with his brand GSD Mode and alongside being a successful real estate agent, he has pivoted into the role of a serial entrepreneur. Joshua continues to startup multiple businesses in all different niches and all with tremendous success.
From coaching programs, software development, and nutritional supplements - everything Joshua is doing can be traced back to one core belief: Massive goals with massive action and refusing to ever be satisfied.
BONUS: Joshua is sharing his daily planner for you to download, use, and tweak to become your own. It’s 9 pages long and impressive doesn’t quite do it justice. Implementing this daily planner into your own life will have create levels of action and accountability you didn’t think were possible.

Toni Anderson runs a 6-figure blog, runs an ecommerce store generating $100k per month, helps other business via consulting (including Money Peach), is the co-host of a wildly successful conference for online marketers and bloggers, hosts her own podcast, and has done all of this as a military wife while raising and homeschooling their 7 children.
Impressive, right?
Whenever I feel myself slipping into the mindset of “this is just too much to handle”, I immediately think of Toni and then get back to work. In this episode she shares with us the story behind her blog, how she monetized it, and how she continues to generate 6 figures through her first business with only a few hours of work each month.
Next we dive into the start of Toni’s very own conference and how she helps others grow their businesses while also building a community of other online marketers and business owners. We talk about the value she is able to deliver by focusing on the things that she says matters most when attending a conference.
Lastly, we jump into her newest business inside ecommerce. We discuss what she is selling, how she sets goals via public proclamation, and what she recommends to anyone looking to get started inside ecommerce (selling physical products online) and what she would do differently if she could start over.
All the show notes, links, and anything Toni and I mentioned can be found at http://www.moneypeach.com/session45
I asked serial entrepreneur and the founder of Dry Farm Wines, Todd White, to come on the show to throw a ton of value at us. First off, Todd has a massive level knowledge on life as an entrepreneur. As someone who has been an entrepreneur since he was 13 years old, Todd shares a ton of what it takes to get started, overcome extreme failure, and focus on the one thing that really matters - providing value to enhance the lives of others.
BONUS: Never have I mentioned this before, but I have personally lived on a Ketogenic diet for the past five months. Todd is also a master of ketosis and has been in a ketogenic state for the past 3.5 years.
What the heck is Ketosis you say?
A ketogenic diet is a high fat, low carb, moderate protein diet with primary benefits of increased health function and high levels of brain function. One of the beautiful byproducts of a ketogenic diet is the incredible rate of fat burning and decreased levels of hunger.
To put it simple - people who are are living on a strict keto diet are extremely lean and never hungry. Entrepreneurship plus ketosis takes us to the third part of the conversation - HEALTHY WINE. Todd started Dry Farm Wines because of his passion for a healthy and keto-friendly wine.
Today, Dry Farm Wines is the choice of health advocates across the globe due to their sugar-free, low carb, and all natural wine selection. Dry Farm Wines are Paleo-friendly, Keto-friendly, and Low-carb friendly wines that are delivered right to your doorstep at an average cost of $22 per bottle.
HOWEVER, MONEY PEACH LISTENERS GET THEIR FIRST BOTTLE FOR $0.01. Todd will explain how you can get the Money Peach deal inside the episode.

Real Estate Investor Dana Bull comes on the show to talk about how she has built an impressive real estate portfolio starting in her early 20s.
Dana has what I would consider extreme work ethic. Not only is she spending time as a real estate agent, she is also working feverishly to find the best properties for her own portfolio, and is also the full-time landlord to the current rental properties her and her husband have acquired thus far.
Today she is reaping the benefits of both her hustle as an entrepreneur and also the incredible financial decisions she made at a very early age. Dana provide a ton of value during the interview and touches on...
Whether you are looking to start your own business, jump into real estate investing, or just want to hear how someone in their 20s is building a passive income stream to last a lifetime, you are going to find a ton of value from this episode.
All the show notes, links, and anything Dana and I mentioned can be found at http://www.moneypeach.com/session43
George Laughton and his wife Jennifer started the Laughton Team in 2007 and have steadily climbed to become one of the top real estate agents in the entire United States. In fact, George is not only a top 1% real estate agent across the country, but he was also the youngest person to ever be inducted into the RE/MAX Hall of Fame.
With that said, I didn’t want to bring George on the show to talk about his success, but rather to discuss WHY he has been so successful. What separates him from the rest of the people trying to do the same thing in his field? What are some of his daily routines? What books does he read, where does he go to learn, who does he look to for mentoring, and how does he continue to improve every single day?
During the interview, I asked George, “A lot of this seems so basic...why doesn’t everyone do these same things everyday?”
Interestingly enough, George Laughton is asking the same question.
BONUS: I of course put George on the spot and asked him to provide a PDF cheat sheet of his own morning routine to help you get started with yours. This routine was put together after following some of the most successful entrepreneurs on the planet and taking bits of pieces and forming his own. Behind-the-scenes of how I am growing Money Peach.
Over the past few weeks I have interviewed some of the most successful entrepreneurs in their specific niche and have learned a ton myself as the result of having them all on the show.
However, all of the entrepreneurs up to this point have (or just about) “made it”. They are wildly successful in both their personal and professional lives, which is why I asked them to come on the show in the first place. But, one thing I haven’t done on the podcast yet is to bring on someone who was still getting started, still finding their way, and still growing their business from the ground up.
In this episode I am completely transparent with my own business, Money Peach. What started as an idea (in my bath robe) at my kitchen table has grown into a powerful blog, weekly podcast, and an online training program that stretches all over the United States and now the entire globe!
In this episode I share with the the top 10 things I have learned growing my business and the lessons I wish I would have known starting on day one. This episode was a little intimidating for me to record since I do share more about the business than I have before, but I also know this is going to help you with your upcoming dreams, goals, and plans.
At the end of the episode, I would be so thankful if you could leave me a comment with your feedback of what you liked and/or didn’t like. My goal is to keep providing the value you want, not the value I think you want :)

Hilary Hendershott, MBA, CFP, from Profit Boss Radio is coming on the show to open our eyes to the way we all FEEL about money.
What makes Hilary different from much of the finance world is her belief system with money. She believes no matter how much we make, how much we have, or how much we want, our mind controls the flow of money in and out of our life. She is also a self-proclaimed neuroscience geek and has read everything she could find on the psychology behind money behaviors and habits. Her belief system of personal finance goes much deeper than you would have ever thought possible, opening your eyes to many of the questions you have about your own money behaviors.
The Best Part of the Episode...
We both agree on a many of the same financial principles and beliefs, however there is one key thing we don’t agree on at all - budgeting. Her and I do go back and forth on this “touchy” subject, but I will add she also does an excellent job explaining why she is against budgeting. At the end of the day it’s simply one thing we aren’t going to agree on (which is perfectly okay). Hilary was an amazing guest and at the end she even throws in her latest eBook for free: The Mind Over Money Guide.

Scott Alan Turner is a debt-free millionaire and the host of his own podcast, The Scott Alan Turner Show.
Scott once started out as a self-proclaimed money moron and has completely reshaped the way he approaches his life and money. There is one very interesting thing he did to pay off his mortgage early, which I will let him explain inside the episode.
For the past year, Scott’s show has been one of a few podcasts I find myself listening to over and over again. His philosophy on debt, savings, budgeting, building wealth, and retiring early often beg me to ask the question: “Are we long lost cousins?”
In the show, Scott talks about:
At the end of the show, Scott provides all Money Peach listeners with a freebie BONUS!

On the show today my guest is John Gaston. John is a close friend of mine, an extremely successful entrepreneur, and was able to retire at age 34.
John is also my one on one mentor when it comes to my own business. Over the past few years John has shared a lot with me and I've begged him to come on the podcast to share his incredible story.
John is very humble and also very private, so for him to come on this podcast took a lot of arm-twisting on my part. Some of the things John will share with us are:
• How he got started and his passion for business
• Leaving the comfort of a steady paycheck
• The ups and downs of being an entrepreneur
• Overcoming extreme adversity
• Balancing the business and family life
• Managing a partnership (with his best friend)

Jeff Jones is an investment advisor and one-half owner of WJ Wealth Management in Phoenix, Arizona.
I met Jeff through a mutual friend and one thing I immediately liked about Jeff was his outlook for the future of investing for retirement. He has been in the business for 32 years, yet he his not your typical “old-school” investment advisor.
Jeff has the long-term experience and the ability to see the changes from the past and can relate those changes to today’s movement of new-age investing.
For example; most traditional investment advisors are not fans of robo-investing (computers replacing humans) as you can only imagine why. However, Jeff fully accepts it and will even explain the value it provides versus what he refers to as “traditional”.
Stay tuned for the very end where Jeff shares his view of mutual funds becoming obsolete in the near future and what he says is already replacing mutual funds today.

Jason Beck is the Founder and President of Tyr Tactical.
Tyr Tactical creates and manufactures tactical equipment for the next generation warrior. They have the reputation of providing the absolute highest quality combat gear and body armor to both military and police personnel all over the world.
Jason started his company from the ground up. I asked him to come on the show to share his truly amazing story of success. Jason comes from extremely humble beginnings, which I am so glad he decided to share with us at the last minute.
In addition to sharing some painful memories, Jason also shares his very unique philosophy on the way you treat people and how building relationships is the backbone of his success.
“You never know who the smallest guy will be that affects your business the most”
Just like the rest of us, he has faced more than his fair share of challenges, AND HE NEVER GAVE UP. Today Tyr Tactical is a multi-million dollar business based in Peoria, Arizona, where they hit $20 million in sales for 2016.
Innovate or Die is one of Jason’s Mantras and is hash-tagged all over his social media, business, and website.

This week on the show I am going to switch roles. Instead of hosting the show and interviewing a guest, I am actually going to be the guest!
Phillip Taylor from PT Money recently had me on his podcast to explain how to budget when you're living paycheck to paycheck. This is one topic I can talk on for days and after obtaining PT’s permission, I wanted to share the episode here!
I don't just discuss the budget, but I also share a quick story with PT of our “ah-hah!” moment: the moment which caused Andrea and I to take back control of our life and money.
You're going to love this week’s unique style on the podcast.

Justin is a PD S.W.A.T. officer and founder of the custom knife company MilMak Industries.
Justin and his wife recently became debt-free! He shares his story and struggles with debt, how they were able to finally pay it all off, and how he has managed to grow his business alongside all of it.
BONUS: I have Justin talk safety in terms of what we all should be doing for our families, and then I “forced” him to give a discount to Money Peach listeners!

Nate Adams is a 5-times X Games gold medalist in freestyle motocross. We have been friends since we were 4-years-old and I have watched him go from the neighbor across the street to freestyle motocross and X-Games superstar and legend.
I asked Nate to come on the show to share his story and talk money. Over his career, Nate has earned millions of dollars, yet he has always remained extremely grounded to what truly matters and what makes him happy. His unique perspective on life, money, business, and everything in between makes for an incredible episode. Enjoy!

I am bringing her back on the show today to share her journey from what was once a dream of making it to television to now living out that dream in her everyday life. Some of the key points we touch on today are:
▪ Working and going to school
▪ Starting off as the intern
▪ Landing her first job in the news business at $10/hour
▪ Working 70+ hours every week in the beginning
▪ The traffic girl didn’t really know her directions
▪ Getting robbed at the bank (seriously)

Wow. What an incredible success journey from Melinda Gray, a school teacher from Seattle. Melinda started following the Money Peach blog a little over a year ago and on January 28th, 2016, she sent me an email asking me for some advice.
A few days later I replied to her email and told her what I would do if I were in her shoes...and SHE ACTUALLY DID IT! A year later she had taken the advice and paid off just over $44k and is now DEBT FREE.
BUT FIRST...before we jump into an incredible success story, let’s answer this simple question: What does it take to win with money?

“Seth” - my very own financial advisor - comes on to say what most advisors won't.
Since most professionals in the financial industry are so highly regulated, “Seth” agreed to come on the show if we kept his identity a secret.
Now that he's anonymous, he is able to drop a ton of value including what you should be asking your advisor, how fees are structured, and some of the biggest mistakes he sees new clients make.
As a BONUS, this episode comes with a PDF Cheat Sheet I asked “Seth” create, which will come in very handy when you're getting ready to interview your next advisor.
At the end of the episode, you'll have a much better understanding of how financial advisors are paid, common fees you can expect, and what you should not be paying for at all.

Carrie Weinberg - the very first winner of the Money Peach 500 Challenge and $500 Giveaway. She talks about her experience with saving $500 in a month and what she plans to do with the $500 she saved AND the $500 cash she just won!

Jose Anaya from the fintech startup company Evoshare comes on the show to talk about a cash back program that dumps cash back money into your retirement funds or towards your student loans. I really love this program because it's a painless way to add money for retirement (or student loan debt) for shopping at the same places you already are shopping at.
Next, Brandi asks a question about the ROTH IRA and I break down exactly how the ROTH works, why it is highly recommended for all investors, and what you should know before you get started with your own.

Today's episode is absolute full of it. I start us off with a little rant on celebrities and their opinions, millennials drinking coffee for retirement and my problem with the latte factor.
Next we we jump right into a GREAT question from a listener on leasing cars.
Have you ever wondered why every car commercial now sells a lease? There is a reason why and it's costing you way more than you could imagine. It's time to break down the car lease so you 100% understand why leasing is the most expensive way to operate any vehicle.

There is a moment in life when your teenager assumes they apparently know everything under the sun, but you still aren't done trying to teach them about the one thing that will touch every aspect of their lives: money.
This is exactly why I put together the 7 things you MUST be doing right now to turn your teenagers into debt-avoiding, wealth-minded, future millionaires. The choices you are making right now will have dramatic effects on your life in the future and the future financial habits of your know-it-all teenager.
The surprising thing is this: their financial wisdom (or lack thereof) started and ends with you.
When you throw a boomerang out in to the world, we anticipate it to come back. When we fail to really teach our teens how to manage money, they leave for college and come back living in your basement as just like a boomerang. Instead of unintentionally creating a boomerang generation, why not instead teach your teenagers how to leave home with a solid foundation to build a life worth living, and thus changing your family true from this point forward?

One of the questions I get all the time is, "Peach, how did you get your wife on board with your money plan?"
First off - HA! You don't know my wife...she doesn't just get on board like that. There was a lot of trial and error, a few hiccups, and in the end we won with our money together.
Therefore, I brought my wife Andrea on the show to give you her perspective on:
What it takes to get on board, the struggles we faced, what she did that changed everything, and what life is like now we are debt free.

Today on the show I bring on an expert on health insurance and most importantly: The Affordable Care Act.

With the Affordable Care Act deadline rapidly approaching, Jennifer explains what you should know in terms we can all understand and what is your best options BEFORE you enroll.

In this week's episode of the Money Peach Podcast, you and I are going to look deep into the opportunity cost.
Popular culture and society tells us that procrastination is okay and we accept it. We will lose weight later, we will exercise more later, we will pencil in a date night later, and we will pay attention to our money later.
Here's the problem: money is less forgiving.
During this episode, I am going to shock you when you see how making tiny adjustments in our daily lives with money will have enormous results on your life, money, and your future.
The term a little goes a long way is not cliche today; it's reality.
http://www.moneypeach.com/session12
Where did you learn how to manage money? The old saying: "More is caught than taught" is how most of us learn about money.
We unknowingly picked up many of the bad money habits our parents struggled through when we were younger, and surprise, surprise; now we are making the same mistakes they once were (or still are).
This doesn't have to be the case for the next generation - our kids. What can you be showing your 4 year old AND your 16 year old about money?
In this week's episode, I am going to walk you step by step with the best possible ways to teach your kids about money at every single age.
It's never too late to start, but the sooner the better!
You don't want boomerang kids (the ones that move back in when they're 30) and you may need a little help from some financially stable adults in 20-30 years!
http://moneypeach.com/session11
Housing is the BIGGEST expense most of us will ever have to deal with, and yet it's kind of a big mystery. Why do we choose a 30 year mortgage and what are the better options? If I go to a 15-year mortgage, what happens to my payment? What happens if I can add just a little bit each month to my mortgage and what does that look like over time?
The reason why we ask these questions is simple: we were never taught how. Instead we sign our lives away without a clue of what is really going on and what other options are available. If that's not enough, we are then thrown into the bank's wonderful plan of making payments and interest for the majority of our lives and wondering why we can't seem to get ahead.
No thanks.
In this week's episode of Money Peach TV, we are going to break down the 30 year mortgage vs the 15 year mortgage, and some other jaw-dropping facts about what you can and should be doing to becoming ultra fit by paying off your mortgage early!
http://moneypeach.com/session10
Can you really retire a millionaire? In this week's episode, I am going to share with you how even someone with just an average income can retire wealthy.
You don't need a PhD in finance to accomplish this either. You just simply need to START, and you need as much time on your side as possible.
Beyond simply the wealth building, I am going to share with you how much you can invest, where to invest, and in what order I recommend investing for retirement.
When you start to understand exactly what is possible when you simply start investing 15% of YOUR income over your working career, you will see why it's so important to get started now. You can always earn more money, but not more time.

Studies have shown everyone will experience a devastating financial hardship in any given 10 year period.
Now that we know this is a fact, let’s be proactive for it and prepare for it. The worst time to go further into debt is when you are experiencing a financial disaster.
Instead of swiping the credit card or taking out a line of credit when your next emergency hits, what can you do to better prepare yourself?

What gets measured gets managed.
Let me ask you this: Would you ever take a road trip across the country without a fuel gauge? Then why do we do this throughout life by refusing to live on a monthly budget?
In this week’s episode, I am going to break down why you need to start a budget, the steps necessary, and then I’ll give you the exact same budgeting forms we used which allowed us to pay off our debt and live life on our terms.
The number one thing you must be doing if you want to have true financial freedom is learning how to measure and manage the money. AKA: The Budget.
