Tribal problem solving: Recent Episodes

We talk about problems facing our society and how we are trying to fix them. Current problems are discovering worthwhile problems and the education system in Aotearoa.
Dom is a Year 12 student. He is always seen in meetings and has the busiest schedule of any student. He chairs the Christchurch Youth Council and is the student board rep at Ao Tawhiti. He has a lot of ideas about how to improve education and is highly ambitious. He used to go to Burnside High School until the beginning of this year because the school didn’t fully support him.
Raphael is in Year 12. He is a great violin player, he is a natural on stage. He is also very social around his friends and is a source of a lot of laughs. His parents were originally from Korea but he is a NZ citizen. He knows he wants to become a lawyer to fight injustice.
Lyra is in Year 12. She often sits quietly and is diligent in doing her work. She knows a lot about a range of topics - namely nuclear physics, short stories and education. She will do very well at Uni.
Ciara is very active in activism related to global warming. She is in Year 12 and helped organize school strikes for climate change last year. She has recently started a inter school green club. She is very committed to fighting climate change through her activism.
Josh is 13 y.o. He is into computers and is building a roblox server and has attempted to run a small online gaming tournament.
Harmony is 18 y.o. School leaver. She has a passion for film and wants to pursue that in her career. She is focused on finishing ncea and is going to take a gap year next year.
Isaiah is 18 y.o. About to leave school. He wants to join the military/police, but is going to catch up college to get his ncea grades. He has been honing his skills in gig-economy in Roblox - creating/running/designing a server with discord including advertising and hiring freelancers.
Me and Ephraim were talking to Silus. 18 y.o. school leaver. There were two other students there with him. He is really into developing himself. Has had some papers at Uni this year for Computer Science but doesn’t like that learning style so doesn’t want to do just that. Is going to apply to join the military so that he can get paid and study.
16 & 18 y.o. Both school leavers going to study at Uni. One got a scholarship to Lincoln Uni for food science and other is keeping her options open with general chem/bio papers. Have been involved with extra curricular activities related to education before.
They are not stupid people, probably quite an intelligent bunch but often don’t do much school work.
Two girls about 13 y.o. One wants to be a pilot (sort of) and other has no idea (the more talkative one, Kada). They do hardly any work at school.
13 yo girl that is really into drawing while at school. Uses Amino app to commission work from/to other people.
