Online privacy and security is of great importance to many of us and yet - how to go about practically making my online experience safer for myself? This question has nagged at us for a few years now, and so we are delighted to share this amazing conversation with Martin Richtsfeld!

Martin studied Information Technology and Economics in the early 2000s at the technical university of Vienna, back when we were first using email. His focus – even way back then! – was on Cyber Security. The digital landscape has changed vastly in the years in between, but he always stayed on top of this area in his almost 20 years of experience.

In this expansive, encouraging, very practical and heart-opening conversation with Martin, we are excited to cover all angles on this hugely important topic and will kick-off two more in depth sessions in the Ownstream Network for those who desire Martin's support in actualizing many of his tips and concepts within their own online security system.

For many of us, feeling safe and secure online and with technology is super important and we truly hope this conversation with Martin helps us move powerfully and positively in that direction.

If you are ever fortunate enough to meet Jim Gale in person, know this – the man is LIT. He has a special gleam in his eye and an enthusiastic, warm hello and powerful hug for anyone he meets. He is a man living a clear purpose, determined to make a difference in the world. And he clearly has the means – physical, mental, emotional and spiritual – to do it. His mission could be defined as “freedom”, of all types. His main vehicle: Permaculture Food Forests – that can fit anywhere and provide freedom everywhere.

We had the distinct pleasure of meeting Jim last month on a trip to Florida. While planning for this interview, we visited his current project, a small, vibrant and growing freedom village in central Florida, and got the chance to meet and interact with Jim and his team.

Immediately upon arrival, we sensed something very special about this place and the people too. Jim walked us through the community’s many large and abundant gardens, plots of land, large pond, chicken house and even a gun range. Most of all, what you find here is a vision to change the world in action. Jim’s goal is to create a thriving community here, all self-sustained through food grown on the land with everyone focused on freedom and standing resilient in the coming storm.

There are a number of ways to identify the heroes of our times. We can sense the truth and power of what a person is sharing by how our body feels when we listen.

If Google has censored someone, that's also a good sign that they are standing powerfully for the truth in a time of war for the hearts and minds of all.

In our experience, Joe Martino passes both tests.

In 2009 (way back when!), Joe started an independent media channel called Collective Evolution (CE) - a media and education company that sought to shift the consciousness of culture. CE was devoted to two causes at the heart of Joe's own journey, and his understanding of what's critical to heal our planet: personal transformation and journalism (and the intersection of the two).

In these times, many of us are thinking about building autonomy from the food and medical systems. Typically, plans in these areas look like growing your own food, connecting with local farmers, and in the case of the "health care" system, strengthening immunity, acquiring supplements, and looking for friendly practitioners. But what if a whole other level of autonomy is possible? What if with the changing frequencies on the planet, our bodies - and our identification with our bodies - are changing to such a degree, that at some point soon, food will not be necessary, and our bodies will be restored so vitally to their natural states that illness is but a memory?

This is the exciting path that Judy Koons has found herself on, and which she joyfully seeks to help others follow. Please join us to learn more on this truly fascinating session of "Our Bright Future" featuring the "True Health Detective", Judy Koons.

We first met Evi Maes and Matthias Arentsen some years ago, in what feels now like a different timeline, on a spiritual high, when we were all aiming to awaken the world, one post at a time.

We reconnected with them a year or two later, in mid-late 2019, when we were flying through a dark night of the soul, and they suggested joining Oracle Girl’s purification space. They had been in the space for some time already. I will never forget what Evi told me when I offered, "well, I'm already working with a coach." She said: "Forget about the coach, or any coach. This is GOLD."

After being part of an amazing organization that showed them many things about what a positive future can look like, in Spring 2020, a gentle and powerful impulse directed their future lives. Evi woke up one morning and knew that she must plant seeds -- that's all she knew. She had never planted seeds; she didn't have experience as a gardener; she didn't know what she would grow or how she would do it. But she knew she needed to do it, and she began. Following this call, after a week, more than 150 pots with seeds sprouted on their veranda. Within a few weeks, they had a large vegetable garden, from which they shared the harvest with the locals, and a seed library for others.

Their non profit organization, In Line With Nature was born. Contributing to a new economy through action in line with nature.

That initial impulse unfolded a new path for Evi and Matthias -- learning about themselves in the process of growing food and interacting with others around them in a new way. They felt a new relationship with nature, and with a new care economy that flows naturally when working with nature.

Can you catch a virus? This question, posed in a video by holistic health practitioner Tom Barnett over a year ago, set off a storm of replies and shares worldwide suddenly tossing Tom into a maelstrom of controversy and adoration. For many, his question shook the very foundation of the worldview they had adopted from the mainstream narrative. For others, it posed an amazing possibility that maybe...just maybe...all the fear being promoted and sold was unfounded and, possibly, tied to another agenda related to fear and profit. And so, unsurprisingly, Tom faced severe backlash and criticism which has only served to strengthen and empower his resolve and clarity.

In this conversation we plan to dive into Tom's perspectives now: how does he perceive the current medical interventions being rolled out worldwide, how does he plan to handle potential confrontations around his personal decisions, what steps has he already taken to empower his own positions removing power from the state, why does he feel that men in particular are now needed and how must they respond for themselves, their families and communities, what does he feel we need to do worldwide in order to more unify and strengthen our own tribe to clearly communicate a more holistic and - yes - science-based perspective (which is not bought and which honors the fearless research of those who have refused to play by the old rule$).

And, what does Tom see coming in the near-term in and around further restrictions and such and how does he plan to manage these possible actions? This and much, much more are on our agenda for this week's "Our Bright Future" with Tom Barnett. We are so excited and honored to welcome Tom to the chat and hope you too will join us!

Dr. Kelly Brogan has studied & taught at some of the most renowned, conventional medical educational institutions in the world: Cornell, NYU, MIT amongst others.

And yet, her most insightful and meaningful education came just a few years ago, when she was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease (postpartum thyroiditis) and knew that she was arcing in the direction of a lifetime of pharmaceutical dependency, at the mercy of a system which she no longer fully trusted. And so, she decided to heal herself

Two and a half years later, she reemerged - vibrant and empowered - as a full-time believer in the "alternative" side of medicine. This led to her ground-breaking NY Times Bestselling book "A Mind Of Your Own" & the more recent, "Own Your Self" + a 3-hour interview with Joe Rogan (which has since been removed from YouTube).

We are not only very excited to speak with Kelly about her remarkable findings around health, "the virus" and our deeply potent innate power to heal ourselves, but also to hear her speak about maintaining her strength, clarity and balance at a time when many across the media spectrum have attempted to discredit her and the valuable work she is doing. We'll also dive into her vibrant online health community, the Vital Life Project, and resources she has created for personal and collective sovereignty in these times.

Vanessa Holliday and David Khan believe that the missing link in the broader equation of awakening worldwide is…sound. For them, it’s the most direct and tangible way to introduce a higher bandwidth of energy into the human experience - by generating sound frequencies which emanate from an unfamiliar octave or “range” for most individuals.

What they say is needed most now--and can be magnificently powerful!--is to upgrade the frequencies we are exposed to, to tune us back into our natural frequencies, and literally re-tune ourselves with nature through sound. Should we do so, we will be able to uplift many who urgently need it and, in the process, eradicate all sorts of illnesses and other conditions that puzzle doctors and healers alike.

Our bodies are a symphony, they explain; the natural resonant frequency is Earth and is nature, and returning to that frequency can be our salvation. As Vanessa and David put it: "Sound was the medicine of the past - and is the medicine of the future."

Dr. Christiane Northrup -- for decades, worldwide, her name has been synonymous with women's health and empowerment. While Christiane has long been a lighthouse for women and women's health, it is no surprise that she has more recently emerged as a leader in our current health crisis--carrying the same, powerful message about our body's innate power, wisdom, and ability to heal.

In these times, Christiane has been part of a powerful chorus of doctors and health leaders worldwide who have made clear that we have nothing to fear. That lockdowns and control measures are unnecessary -- and in fact, threatening to our health, especially our mental health, as well as our freedom and sovereignty as beings. For many years, she has spoken up about our over-medicalization, stating that we have so much more power over our own health than we have been taught. Over her life's work, she has steadily pointed us within, to listen to our bodies as our guide to what we really need to grow, heal, and thrive.

This message is all the more important and poignant now -- in fact, if heard, it could save millions of lives. Click below to learn more and register for this incredibly important conversation with Dr. Christiane Northrup.

On the path to fully self-reliant, self-regenerative homes and communities aligned with nature and its principles, one of our guides is surely to be Paul Richardson.

After a lengthy career in architecture, traveling the world building hotels and working on other prestigious projects, Paul experienced an awakening in 2017 that led him to re-discover his true mission in this life--to help humankind get back to the land, and bring forward a new Earth through natural and sustainable designs for living at home and in community.

Paul since founded the Haven Earth Center, "a transitional platform, sort of a guide, to allow people to begin relocating from the dense urban (sick) reality, into a nature inspired and focused community centric model of living, a creative haven." The platform includes prototype holistic living models, structures, homesteads and communities that are self-regenerative, and fully supporting and integrative into natural settings. Paul has gained special attention recently for his hemp houses, which make use of the abundant and inexpensive natural resource, now so plentiful in the US.

In this glorious Our Bright Future conversation with Paul, we plan to cover new earth home building (specifically his amazing journey with hemp), integrating dwellings with surrounding land, rethinking community design in order to more abundantly access resources & much more.

Sovereignty - this has become a topic of increasing interest in our community over the last nine months, as authorities in our society aim to limit our ability to live and act freely as individuals.

~ What does it mean to be sovereign?

~ How does one stand confident in his/her sovereignty in the face of external controls?

~ How do we reclaim our natural rights as free men and women, which pre-existed and will outlast these systems?

Greg Paul is an expert in this area, from his personal explorations with living outside externally imposed money, government, legal, and other systems. From what he has learned on his journey, Greg founded and runs a comprehensive online program called "The Sovereign's Way" -- a course that teaches "the law of mankind." This natural law, Greg explains, constitutes the only, true rules governing life among free sovereign beings, and, once we know it, becomes our remedy to any seeming external controls, and the key to peace and freedom in every area of life.

It is up to us now in this reality, Greg says, to take responsibility for our own lives. It is up to us to know and embody our own sovereignty, to establish the boundaries of what it means to be a free man or woman -- and if we do, we extinguish the threat, and live life freely, on our own terms, as we are meant to in nature. What's on the other side of that -- in terms of how we live as free men and women together in society -- is limitless.

Among the strongest and most courageous voices for truth in our world at this moment is Pam Popper. Pam has been a dedicated guardian of the truth for a long time, challenging mainstream paradigms related to health and health care for decades through her wellness center in Ohio, many online courses, and presence in popular documentaries. Since the very beginning of the recent worldwide illness, in early March 2020, Pam has been posting multiple videos each week on her YouTube channel examining the data, questioning the "facts" presented, and proposing alternatives.

In early summer 2020, Pam launched a new online platform for people to organize locally across the USA to "Make Americans Free Again." The platform--which she hopes can be a useful example for people in other countries to organize locally and declare freedom--brings together resources, information, lawyers, and local action groups to stand up, resist the current measures of control, and develop resources for living, educating, and running businesses in a new society run by the people.

In this "Our Bright Future" conversation, we plan to discuss this emerging platform and the early successes (and challenges) they have enjoyed while also gaining Pam's perspective on recent developments in the US and beyond.

Many of us are focused right now on building community, and more specifically, on how local community resilience will be key to our survival and thriving as centralized systems come apart, and the world shifts to one that is more local, rooted in bonds of affection, and aligned with nature.

How do we rebuild our society at the local level? What designs for ecologically sound and sustainable communities do we have to learn from? What will help us make the transition, and what can we learn from the community-building trailblazers who have come before us?

We begin this conversation in the Our Bright Future series with Stephen Brooks the remarkable founder of La Ecovilla and the Punta Mona Center for Regenerative Design & Botanical Studies, both located in Costa Rica.

What might intimate relationships look like in an ascended society? How will men and women show up as natural beings, once we move past gender-based conditioning and patterns that currently plague us? Why is clearing and healing our sexual shame perhaps the most crucial element in recreating our lives, communities, the world?

We will dig into these intimate questions with this week’s “Our Bright Future” guest, Chris Bale.

Chris's aim is to support the vast transformation currently unfolding on planet Earth by saying the things that most will not say. Our spirituality is weak - even those of us who consider ourselves "awake" - and that men and women live lives largely out of alignment, still corrupted by the unnatural ways of the conditioned world. Until we straighten these elements out individually, our collective will remain in a tailspin towards oblivion.

There is urgency, and Chris is here to wake us up.

This year, as many of the systems and structures we had taken for granted have been called into question or directly threatened, there has been a rising interest, in our community and others, for greater self-sufficiency. Many of us have been called to more empowered, self-sufficient lives in line with nature and community for some time. Now the impetus is here for us to create a new way of living.

How do we grow homes and communities that are decentralized, resilient, and sustainable? How do we rise to meet this moment, and empower ourselves with the skills necessary to create what we need, independent of government systems and centralized economies?

Ben Falk was among the leaders who realized early that the current system of dependency was doomed to expire. For 17 years, he has been testing high-yield, regenerative food and energy practices on his land at the Whole Systems Research Farm (WSRF) and homestead, and teaching others how to develop their own self-sustaining homesteads, farms, and schools. We can all feel that this way of living, in harmony with the land and our local communities, is the way of the future. And it is exactly what we need right now, as our world transforms rapidly.

In this both visionary and highly practical conversation, we cover:

~ Why are our current systems of food production failing? Where are the threats to our survival based on the current dependencies?

~ What will rise to take its place? How do we build resilient and regenerative systems of food production that support us to live in abundance?

~ What are the key features of Ben's Whole Systems Research Farm? How did he transform a beat-up piece of land into a highly biodiverse and productive ecosystem?

~ What actions can we take today to "harness the transition away from a consumer society that belittles our own humanity to an organizing force that fosters individual empowerment?"

~ How does one get started with a piece of land to build a resilient, self-sufficient homestead?

~ What are the first steps to take to grow food to support your family? What are key things to know and do heading into the upcoming winter in terms of food storage and conservation?

~ What are the most important things to focus on now in becoming adaptive and resilient in the face of the changes now underway in our world and societies? What are the first steps toward a resilient, self-sustaining lifestyle?

Imagine a society in which every source of energy was free, abundant and available to all, and non-destructive to the Earth; a world where the extraordinary, interconnected field of energy that envelops us was leveraged for our every energy need; a world beyond the systems of control that suggest our energy supplies are limited, expensive, and by necessity, must harmfully leech the Earth of its resources. Susan Manewich contemplates this world - and what is needed to bring it into reality - on a daily basis, via her work as President of the "New Energy Movement" - a platform dedicated to the study and promotion of advanced, clean, and sustainable energy sources, toward the aim of creating and supporting self-sufficient communities on Earth. What if there was an entirely different way to connect and exchange online that served our awakening planet and its communities? What if we could create our own online systems for connection and exchange? How would we want them to look and feel? What would be their mission, values, and objectives? What goals would they serve?

And finally…

What if online networks were established by communities to serve a set of common and shared purposes defined by communities themselves?

Walter Almeida has spent over a decade of his life developing a technology that he is now open sourcing, that can be used to do just that. To help communities come together, identify their needs for connection and exchange, and then design their own platform to meet those needs, help and serve one another. While working for the corporate world, he never felt the existing platforms served the highest good. He has since stepped out with a mission to create a technology that anyone can use to design their own community network online—say, the Wordpress of online social and exchange networks.

In this episode we plan to dive deep into the world of online networks, how they have largely failed humanity and an exciting vision for upgrading this system via some exciting new technology. Also, we cover an exciting new opportunity for the Ownstream Community to pilot this technology in creating a new community for us, serving our unique needs. Join us!

As the world transforms, and people become aware of their unlimited potential, what will be the new world of work and business?

Elaira Tickute has spent her life devoted to human potential, and to helping people unlock the highest version of themselves. She studied human design in various formats for 17 years, then launched her own heart-driven business, focused on helping others find their own human design, purpose, and heart inspiration, and work and create from that place within. She is dedicated to living from a philosophy of “human first, business second”, and this she says is the core of the new “care economy” and “care currency” that will emerge on Earth as we transition to a new society: we will work out of an innate drive to serve others—from our hearts, from our care for others—and that gift to others will form the basis of how value is exchanged, across society.

In this conversation, we will discuss a number of topics related to the new world of work, creation, and value exchange.

The financial systems of the old world are crumbling, and a new economy will rise -- one based in self-awareness, care, and the sharing of human resources for the greater good.

What is the future of money?

What systems for value exchange will rise to take the place of the corporate structures that have fallen?

What does value exchange look like in a world and among beings that have transcended installed lack beliefs around resource scarcity and personal unworthiness?

Picking up where we left off in our discussion of breaking free of the old money game last week with Sarah Armide, this week, we speak with Raffaella Russignaga about the end of the old money system, and the rise of peer-to-peer money exchanges, created by the people for an elevated, peer-driven economy. The first innovative giant in this space has been Bitcoin, the first digital currency, and we will discuss in depth the rise of cryptocurrency (peer-driven digital currency) as a new way to store and exchange value:

What is cryptocurrency? How does it work? How is it relevant to the future of money/value exchange in our society? How can I get started? What's next, and what to expect in the next few years? We're thrilled to have Raffaella for this conversation, as she is an awake being, well aware of the true transformation happening on the planet, and an expert in crypto and investing. She will also discuss the impact of disconnecting recently from social media, and what inspiration, creation, and abundance feel like beyond the powerful, intentional, mind-grabbing controls of these systems.

We are thrilled to launch Ownstream's “Our Bright Future”, Building the New Earth series this week with Sarah Armide. Sarah is living, breathing, and working with others on a constellation of paradigms for the New Earth society. Five years ago, a health crisis catalyzed her awakening, and thrust her into a process of radical self-healing. Since healing herself, she teaches others how to heal from illness, and that any “dis-ease”—in fact, any thing we experience in our outer reality—is merely a projection of what patterns we have remaining within us to purify to realize our full potential, life force, and expression of spirit.

In her quest to “release anything that will hold her back from ascending to her highest human potential”, Sarah has worked hard to “depower the deep state” attempts at control and break free from the money game—that is, the false, limiting belief systems society has installed within us about money, value, and work that enslave us from the inside out. In this conversation, we will walk in detail through the process Sarah has used to free herself and others, and live an abundant life directed by her own inspiration and joy. Sarah also spent years living in community in Costa Rica, is on her way to Bali to co-create another community with her soul family, and has given much energy and space to visioning what our lives will look like living in community and in harmony with nature as the New Earth rises.

In this conversation, we plan to discuss all of these topics and more. We look forward to your participation and questions!

In one significant way, Ty Bollinger is like almost all of us. He lost someone he loved very dearly to cancer. His father. In the following decade, Ty lost 6 more of his family members to cancer, including his mother. Like many of us, Ty found it hard to believe that the standard medical response his father, mother and family received was the best or only solution possible. Impassioned, he took action, and began diligently to research alternatives. Learning of the body's true power to heal itself, the natural remedies that successfully support this healing, and the profit motives driving the medical system's myopic and often ineffective approach, Ty became a revolutionary, with a mission to reveal to others these truths about cancer, and to put an end to this pandemic disease. His search took him across the country and around the world, speaking with hundreds of practitioners who have successfully used alternative cancer treatments, and people who have reversed their cancers - all kinds of cancers - using unconventional methods. These approaches, he found, have been unaccepted and actually suppressed by the mainstream healthcare system. Driven to share the truth about cancer and empower others to prevent and heal the disease, for themselves and their loved ones, Ty compiled everything he had learned into a book, and then a series of documentaries. Expanding upon everything he learned about the pharmaceutical industry and cancer, Ty recently created and released a related documentary called The Truth About Vaccines. Ty is a force to be reckoned with, and he packs this interview with at times shocking and thoroughly life-saving information and stats about cancer, the standard medical approach and its alternatives. Maybe the most important and empowering truth about cancer explained in this interview? The body, if well cared for and supported, has the power to heal itself. Our deep thanks to Ty for his tireless passion, work and commitment to the truth. Enjoy.

Teresa Yanaros was born into life destined to unite in service with beings beyond Earth. Child of a military family stationed at RAF Woodbridge, England in the early 1980s, she grew up hearing stories about the Rendlesham Forest incident, one of the most famous UFO sightings in history worldwide. Over the years, Teresa would variously keep an open mind and resist this revelation, taking a fairly traditional path out of childhood into college, where she majored in journalism, then held a series of jobs. What remained constant, though was a quest for the truth. A turning point came when her father pointed her to a book, Journey of Souls, which documented a series of dramatically consistent stories of people's experiences between death and life--and the journey of consciousness that endures, lifetime to lifetime. For Teresa, the truth of these stories, and the vast depth of our consciousness that they revealed, could not be denied. She was awakened. With her mind cast wide open, Teresa began having supernatural experiences of her own. These experiences dramatically changed the course of her life. Teresa sold everything, quit her job, and began to write, speak and live the truth that was coming through her. She became a coach, and created a blog and YouTube channel to share her knowledge with the world. Also, Teresa now speaks regularly at conferences, and collaborates with major national movements, like the Full Disclosure Project, to spread the messages of spiritual awakening, disclosure, and the truth of our existence as consciousness. It is her mission in all her collaborations to empower others to awaken to their true, infinite power, and to join with the co-creative consciousness of the planet to manifest its positive future. Teresa is at once candid, humble and accessible; forceful and empowering; light and wise in her sharings and predictions for our future. Enjoy!

What's the new way to live, lead, earn and give? Peta Kelly says it's simple -- and it begins and ends with our alignment. Peta always lived with a desire to serve others. Her interest in serving our collective health led her first to network marketing, where she sold Isagenix health products. Her belief in the product and magnificent hustle led her to become a millionaire through this business by age 26, when she retired her single mom, and began to launch her own businesses. She even launched herself on a worldwide speaking tour. Because as she began to create, powerful messages began to come to her, and to move through her human channel. She began speaking worldwide, and creating epic sht of her own. She also felt a call to help people change their "money story", something we discuss in-depth in this interview. Her most recent message, lovingly and powerfully laid out in her first book, released earlier this year, is that "Earth is Hiring." That there is a "New way to live, lead, earn and give for millenials and anyone who gives a sht." And it begins with raising our vibration to meet Mother Earth at her highest frequency and creative brilliance. We've got it wrong when we believe we need to save the Earth, Peta says. Mother Earth is a badss creator - all she needs us to do is remember that we are, too, and rise up to meet her. She says the most important thing anyone can do to meet this collective calling now, as the world rushes toward transformation, is to put your alignment first. Stop doing sht you hate, and recreate your life to be and serve what you love. Live in your "tap". We have everything we need, all the time to flow effortlessly with nature, and to create infinite abundance, solutions and service for others. One of the (many) awesome things about Peta that comes through in this fun, power-packed, call-to-action of an interview is that she is human as f*ck. She is no guru, but an awakened human being who has aligned with her soul's purpose and opened her own tap to allow the flow of a powerful message that is within and resonant to all of us - human beings and magical creators in one.Be who you are, and the magic within you here and now will be effortless, Peta tells us. It might even raise the vibration and change the world. Enjoy!

Gerard Armond Powell ("Gerry") has always been an all-or-nothing kind of guy. To say he had an addictive personality is a gross understatement. Drugs, women, alcohol, money....you name it. Every vice known to man has written a chapter in his colorful life story. And for many years, each of these chapters had a very dark - and often catastrophic – ending. That is, until he found plant medicine. During his first ceremony, he had a chat with...the moon (of course). The moon - perhaps a vehicle for his higher self - laid out an entirely new vision for Gerry's life, and how specifically he was to help others recover from addiction using plant medicine and other powerful healing modalities. Most importantly, as Gerry describes it, that night he was reconnected with his soul. The gap between he and his true Self that he had tried so hard to fill with drugs, women, alcohol and anything else he could get his hands on, had been closed and healed. He emerged reborn. Incredibly, the guidance he received during this first ceremony played out mostly to the letter. He has since founded and runs the Rythmia Life Advancement Center in Costa Rica helping hundreds of others to close the gap, reconnect with their soul and find peace, healing and recovery on the other side. When asking how our lives might look different if we were to follow our hearts and dreams, so many of us point to travel. For most of us, travel represents freedom in one way or another - the ability to do whatever we want to, go wherever we want to, whenever we want to do it. But many of us never do it - or do it only in the limited, accepted, prescribed way - for a couple weeks of vacation a year, here or there. We feel confined to one place, limited by time, money, and location-dependent obligations. No so for Jason Moore. After college, Jason longed to travel - to take off in the spirit of adventure. Despite $20,000 in student loan debt, Jason took a leap of faith that he could support himself on the road, and took off. What he found on his way was that many of the mind stories that stop us from traveling are actually made up of myths. That is, it’s not actually impossible to make money while traveling - in fact, he was able to pay off his student loans while traveling and working on the road. Jason’s own experience learning how to travel and experience freedom and location independence soon became his passion to serve and help others. Along the way, he partnered up with fellow traveler and friend, Travis Sherry, and created an online community, “Location Indie”, for people living this so-called alternative lifestyle. Jason comes through in this interview as a down-to-earth, warm, and easy-going guy, and also a deeply knowledgeable and experienced expert in the art of travel and freedom. Enjoy!

Brandy Gillmore refused to take "no" for an answer. After a car accident and a fall that injured her spine, the former athlete was left with devastating, chronic pain throughout her body. She spent days - years - laying in bed, watching TV, with a constant morphine supply that couldn't even ease the pain, getting out of the house only to see doctors, and confined to a wheelchair. Determined to heal this pain, and live a full life, she simply could not - would not - believe what every doctor told her: that there was no solution to heal her condition. In the countless hours of research on health and healing she had done since her accident, she remembered reading many stories of people getting well just taking the placebo - that is, the inactive pill, the non-remedy, to provide a control group for the study of a treatment. What if the solution to her dilemma lay outside of the traditional system of health and healing in our society... and in her own mind? What if... she could heal herself? As we can see meeting and listening to the vibrant, healthy, powerful Brandy of today, the answer was a resounding - YES. Today, Brandy walks with ease, strength, and free from any pain or support, sharing her message of empowerment, and teaching others how to heal themselves too. In this extraordinary conversation, learn all about Brandy's journey from chronic pain and desperation to power, vitality and purpose. Even if you do not suffer from physical pain, Brandy's story confirms for all of us that we have the power to create our own well being, that consciousness is the true power, and that each of us has more of it than we could ever possibly need. Enjoy!

What do you think of as "normal"? From an early age, Daniel Eisenman questioned what he was told is "normal" - the standard way that he and others were supposed to be. At first, he played around with "breaking normal" - like many teenagers do - by challenging the rules set around him, and acting a bit reckless. But for the most part he stayed on track. After high school, he went to college, and chose to study pre-med, like all the good kids did, and like his parents wanted. He graduated and took the MCATs. But as applications to med school approached he started to question this "normal" path more fundamentally. Something within him knew there was more to his life, and his role in the world, and he decided to take a year off. That year has since become ten (& counting). He hasn't stopped or resumed his former course. Instead, what he found while taking time off from the prescribed path is that there are, actually, infinite ways to live your life. “Normal" is just a conditioned story - unique to each of us, and the story we specifically were told. At first, he sought how "to get paid to do the things he would pay to do", leading to all sorts of adventures that defy our normal beliefs about what we must do to make money. Along the way of following his fun, he saw his idea of fun change. What became most fun, and most exciting, actually, was being true to himself, and serving others in a way that was aligned with his values and beliefs. Every day for Daniel now is adventure in following his own fun, excitement and alignment. He travels often, around the country and the world, lives in vibrant health, enjoys a passionate love relationship, and these days, is most awed by his 1-year-old daughter, Divina, who last year became a viral star with him online as he OM’d her to sleep. Daniel is a real, open-hearted, generous guy who lives a wildly epic life and wants you to know you can, too. Enjoy!

Kathleen Morton never understood why people seem to live by the same unwritten rules. As a child, she most enjoyed the sanctuary of her bedroom, where her natural creativity flourished. Like many of us, when she graduated high school and moved into the larger world, Kathleen believed, as her parents encouraged her to, that a traditional education and career path would bring her happiness, money and success in life. Returning home after college, one potential story of her life flashed before her eyes: hanging out with the same friends, doing the same things every day, in a mechanical urban environment and routine. Something inside her knew there was more to life, and called out for the vast, open expanses of nature, which spoke of unlimited possibility. She moved to Colorado, and soon, the city girl who didn't know how to hike found herself more and more at home in the outdoors. As she spent more time in nature, she began to question the way she lived, and the footprint she was making on the Earth. To live closer to nature, she bought a pop-up camper with her then boyfriend for $1,800. Finding space with a local family, she and her boyfriend made home there anew. They felt the changes of seasons and morning dew directly through the permeable camper walls, and comingled with the local wildlife. Kathleen wondered - finding more financial and personal freedom - why more people didn't live this way. What began as an experiment with tiny, off-grid living soon revealed itself as a calling, and a new story for Kathleen's life: to live closely and in flow with nature, minimize her impact on the environment, and tell her story - and those of others making life this way - to show others that this is, in fact possible, and maybe inspire them to do the same. Today, Kathleen lives and wanders through nature in a 1987 Toyota van, together with her dog, Peaches. She has created a blog and podcast where she tells her story and the stories of other van dwellers, and she serves this community by creating monthly #vanlife gatherings around the country, where the growing community of mobile, alternative home explorers can gather on the frontier, support one another in the lifestyle and movement they are pioneering. She talks in this intimate interview about what it's really like to live and work all over the country in a van, and why - despite the challenges - she feels endlessly fortunate that she is able to live in this way, enjoy the open freedom of her days, and create her own story of her life each day. Enjoy!

Freedom’s just another word for nothin’ left to lose.

Have you ever felt that you are living someone else’s life? That there is another “you” deep within? Someone who would choose to look and feel and live this life in a totally different way?

Often, we live the way someone else has told us to, believing that the wants and yearnings and excitements bouncing around inside of us are only fantasies, meant to be kept quiet in order to be a responsible person, and do what we “should”.

Sometimes – if we are lucky – we will reach a breaking point, at which the contrast between the external self we have fabricated and the true, authentic self within us becomes intolerable, and the truth explodes out of us, cracking our double life wide open, beyond repair.

From childhood, Stan Hartmann lived with a nagging feeling that something about him wasn’t quite right. He never liked the activities other boys did, and when he grew up, he took on his father’s business with great reluctance. He married, had a family, and became a Christian. Later, he remarried, but was never able to enjoy a sexual relationship with a woman.

His thirst for God was deep, and even when he quit working to focus only on his spiritual search, and reached the apex of that search – experiencing full realization of the Absolute One – there remained an underlying tension, pain and lack in his human existence. He didn’t like living.

Then, one day, Stan reached the breaking point.

His partner lovingly called out the elephant in the room of their two-year relationship. She asked why – despite their deep friendship, emotional and spiritual connection – he could not make love to her.

The truth exploded out of him: “because I’m not a fucking male.”

In that instant, years of lies and pretending revealed themselves, and shed themselves from his body like layers of unshackled bondage. Stan experienced for the first time the truth of his authentic self, the reason he had never felt comfortable in his body or truly joyous in his life. He saw that he had created a persona for others that was not his own. Becoming one with his authentic self, Stan became Annie, and with the veil lifted, embodied life took on new glory, joy, and meaning.

Today, Annie lives in wild wonder at the experience of being human – the flowers shine brilliant colors, human beings radiate aliveness, and life is an adventure of unlimited joy and potential, with no bounds. Becoming her fully embodied, authentic self, as she describes it, she now understands the experience of life as the Creator intended in knowing itself in this way – the full experience of “God in a bod.”

Most important, she says, this is an experience all of us can have – in fact, we are meant to have it. This is why we came here: to understand and come to know, through the power of contrast and with infinitely joyous (re)union, who we really, truly are – our divine selves.

It’s not about gender, ultimately – it’s about the burning truth inside of each of us that we are holding back, pushing down, disallowing – a truth that is perfectly unique to each human being, and their authentic self.

Majestic in the beauty, emotion and magnitude of its transformation, Annie’s story is really about the journey of every human life – about finding out who we really are, and embodying it, experiencing it… and becoming One with it.

On the other side is pure technicolor: the wild joy, light, love and radiance of this creation. You know, only that.

Enjoy!

In 1999 the film The Matrix was released. It told the story of a small band of renegades led by Morpheus and the prodigal son, Neo, breaking loose from a synthetic, lifeless reality they called "the matrix" and the eventual collapse of this artificial and controlling system. Since, the phrase "The Matrix" has become synonymous with the toxic life path promoted to us by institutions, the media, governments...you name it. People feel controlled, mechanical, limited. Within many of us, there is another voice which deeply knows these limits are artificial and false. This voice within is facilitating a mass awakening as more and more are creating lives outside of this matrix and inspiring others by their example to do the same. Our paths have been filled with questioning virtually every area of life where there is a status quo or accepted way of living, seeing past that into a broader, more expansive truth. In this episode, we chronicle our journey through 8 very specific points of departure from the old system creating life anew fully aligned with the truth of who we are. These are 8 highly actionable choices that have dramatically expanded our lives, improved our health and filled us with optimism and excitement. These range from changing our diets, to taking a deep look at our relationship with material things to our daily meditation practice, seeking more powerful and positive inputs and much, much more. In an effort to help others understand the vast range of possibilities available to them inspiring them to also see past the programming of the matrix making more empowered and expansive decisions, we have written an eBook detailing these 8 choices. This book, entitled "Exit The Matrix" is filled with hundreds of valuable tools & resources giving you the power to make similar powerful choices for yourself (ebook download link in the show notes). In this episode of the Ownstream Podcast, we reveal our "exit the matrix" story through the lens of these 8 categories. No more does anyone need to abide by the old rules in our world. There are millions forging a new reality, a new earth, right under our feet. "Exit The Matrix" is our gift to those seeking support in unplugging from this old matrix, or way of life, and join the march forward towards a society based on joy, community, abundance and...limitless living.

Sometimes when we begin to meditate - and especially when our meditation practice takes off - we may feel that we are living a secret life. For Rodolfo Carrillo, the exploration of his "secret" inner life began at age 7, when his mother introduced him to meditation. He had fallen, and was experiencing some pain in his body. Until they could reach a doctor the next day to treat his injury, his mother told him to sit quietly, and together, they meditated, generating a healing energy. Despite broken bones in his foot, Rodolfo experienced only mild pain until he reached the doctor the next morning, who was in shock at his calm condition. Rodolfo began to practice meditation from that point forward, and devoured everything his mother shared with him about the subject and practice. Living in a uniformly Catholic Costa Rican culture, however, he kept his meditation life secret throughout his youth and young adulthood, all the while pursuing a fairly culturally traditional outer path - making grades, going to college, and starting a career in business. As he began to work closely with family businesses, it became clear that his true life purpose would call for the merging of his inner and outer lives - and specifically, would require him to bring forth the understanding he had cultivated in his inner life to offer healing in the outer. He now works in one life with individuals to remove their blockages in this way, as he continues in his other life to heal family businesses. The bridging of his inner and outer lives is live and in progress for Rodolfo, who explains that he is still understanding how best to bring forth his inner gifts to maximize his contribution to healing in the world. What is evident from our conversation is that Rodolfo is a truly gifted, intuitive seer and healer - one who has tapped through his inner life into a higher power for healing than one typically known or experienced in our society today - a power, that when bridged effectively into our society, will be pivotal in healing the world. Enjoy!

Perhaps no other category of our society is in more desperate need of idealism than education. For many students, the schooling experience is one of severe anxiety and worry, of toxic and constant comparisons to others (via "grades"), the digestion and regurgitation of facts that seem far from being truly relevant to real life in our world today. Does this traditional system honor the innate gifts in a child, expressed as his or her excitement? Are we fostering innovation and inspiration, or are we building a dour workforce distanced from the truest sparks within? Envisioning then a new sort of school which allows a child to choose whatever path excites him or her seems to be of paramount importance. Along with a handful of friends, Abel McClennen helped found the La Paz Community School in Brasilito, Costa Rica some 11 years ago. Was there a way to bring foreign-born and local kids together, under the same roof, and build a school that prepared all of them for the rapidly changing world? Could this endeavor help the very diverse community come together? Could a school become akin to a community center, where all were welcome and encouraged to gather and realize their inherent sameness? Thus far, the experiment is working. What emerged in this conversation with Abel is not only a visionary, who is serving the world by helping to create an entirely new format for educating young people, but also a man on a mission, following his own excitement and passion. The combination is riveting. As you will see in this interview, Abel's love for his path pours into his every word. His excitement is palpable. Perhaps then what we are witnessing within the microcosm of La Paz is the true answer to the challenges of the world. Follow your excitement, what calls to you, and witness what creates itself via this simple axiom. After speaking with Abel, and experiencing the wondrous co-creation that he leads, it's clear that embodying this and passing this along to young people is an event worth celebrating. In fact, it could be the most important work happening on earth today. We are deeply honored to feature Abel’s story, and his important work, in our series. Enjoy!

Born into a fundamentalist Mormon family in rural Canada, Freyja (then, Catherine) was taught to keep her head down and not raise her voice. At age 15, she entered into an arranged marriage as the second wife of a 25-year-old polygamist man, and joined his community. She spent the next 28 years raising 12 children in this marriage, and abiding by the repressive rules set for women, wives and mothers in the community. One day, she attended a training to grow herself and her work, and something awakened inside of her - she got a taste of what the full power of God really felt like and the vast freedom, possibility, and Power she had within. Returning back to her marriage and community, she couldn't put away what she had experienced. She was permanently changed, and could no longer believe that she and her life were supposed to be so small. So, she did the unthinkable: she left. From that point on, as she followed her own truth and power, everything changed, and her life was set ablaze with magic. Having spent years in a loveless, sexless marriage, she began writing with purpose and passion about the relationship she wanted and deserved. Two weeks later, she met her new husband, life partner, and partner in life purpose, Michael. Having long been called to be a healer, Freyja discovered a modality for which she was uniquely and divinely suited to share with others - Integrative Orgasmic Healing. IOH applies deep sustained bodywork to specific pressure points that store physical, mental, energetic and emotional trauma to release adopted identity limitations and create space for a new reality to emerge. The results are transformative. For Freyja, where once existed a quiet, fearful, obedient wife, has risen a powerful, soulful woman, purpose-driven healer, loving and sensual partner, and abundantly joyful mother. She prioritizes joy, pleasure and purpose as her divine birthrights, and as the gateways to living her calling on this planet. At a time when women are coming forth to bare their repression to the world, and at a time when it is becoming obvious to most that this repression is, in fact, universal, the transformative power of this work for individual women and for our collective is immeasurable. We are deeply honored to share Freyja's story with you on this week's Ownstream Podcast. Enjoy!

The cosmos is also within us. We are made of star stuff. We are a way that the cosmos can know itself.

~ Carl Sagan

Various ancient scriptures have pointed to this moment in our planet’s vast timeline as one of massive transition, flux, calamity, chaos and…ultimately, waking up.

Indeed, any casual observer of society – spiritually inclined or not – must admit that something doesn’t seem quite right about our world today. Our collective priorities of power and control over others, our toxic fears and pain, our warring tendencies, our sense of isolation, depression and despair. How could this possibly be what life is all about?

And yet – while the physical world around us seems to be crumbling in upon itself – simultaneously, many people are experiencing a profound awakening. A vast, infinite knowing arising that they are, in fact, something much greater than this world, and all of its appearances.

Perhaps then, what is on display before us is the end of one thing and the beginning of another. Perhaps we, as a collective, are hitting rock bottom on one way of living, so that a new one can emerge.

In the midst of this dramatic time of transition, a few enlightened souls are stepping forward as guides towards a new society, a new earth. These leaders have reached beyond the veil of what is currently seen by most people into the unseen – that which lies deep within, connected with the source of all things.

They are here to remind us of who we truly are.

Out of this mist of chaos and awakening steps Bentinho Massaro, a young Dutch man – handsome, eloquent and fully expressed. He seems awash with contradictions when viewed by the rules of the old world: experiencing enlightenment over a handful of years, not decades, he began teaching in his early 20s, and lives not isolated in a cave, but deliberately bold, epic, and empowered. Seen from the view of source, he is an infinitely powerful, bright light reminding us of our own fullest potential – that our lives too can be awakened, glorious, and in radiant service to others, all at the same time.

We first discovered Bentinho just after our daughter was born, nearly two years ago. We were new parents, exhausted, baffled and in need of direction.

Up pops Bentinho’s smiling face on Instagram and, for some reason, we clicked. We began watching and listening, and magnetized by our resonance with his message, soon realized we had found a compelling contemporary translator of the ancient truth of oneness – the teacher we had been seeking.

Bentinho at a recent retreat in Sedona, AZ In the nearly two years that we have been digesting his teachings, we have radically transformed our lives. In fact, this platform – Ownstream – can be traced directly back to our encountering Bentinho. Ownstream had lurked in our hearts as a deep longing of contribution and excitement. When we discovered Bentinho’s teachings, this passion was released and is now expressed as this platform and growing by the day.

Joy, love and profound meaning now permeate our days, and challenges that arise can be met with effective tools for realigning with the truth of who and what we are – gods in human form (that’s right – and so are you).

This perfectly measures Bentinho’s intention as a teacher: to help students find within themselves the powerful truth of what they are – which is the ultimate guide for any person’s life, not any teacher, guru or other external authority.

And so, we present this week, with deep love, gratitude and excitement, Bentinho – a brilliant translator of the truth that has flowed here on earth for millennia, but has been covered up and forgotten by most – and the particular teacher who reached us, personally, after many years on the spiritual path.

In this conversation, he describes in beautiful, candid detail his own experience waking up to the absolute truth of existence, how his calling as a teacher expanded from this experience, his view of the universe and man’s place within it, and his most powerful belief of all:

That anyone – including you – can experience this.

(In fact, it is always, already here.)

Part of the predictions cast for many years about our era include a weakening – or thinning – of the veil between what is seen and that which is “unseen” (or, that which vibrates at a different frequency range from what our eyes can perceive).

This more permeable veil hints at a great possibility – that that which might have taken 40+ years to achieve in the not so distant past might now take merely 40 months, or even days.

An awakening – true, deep and lasting – can occur for you, for anyone. Endless joy, boundless freedom and experiencing an ever-expansive heart are possible. Can you believe that? Can you sense this as your birthright? Does this ring the bell of truth? If so, what Bentinho has to say is most certain to stir deeply within you, and hopefully call you to action.

For those who feel called to serve others, Bentinho is now working intimately with a group of committed students who seek to be shepherds of consciousness as the planet transitions to a higher frequency in the coming years. His work with these “civilization upgraders” begins next month (see details for how to apply for this program in the show notes at the bottom of this page).

Our hope with this interview is that – as happened with us – Bentinho’s experience, eloquence and clarity will shake free those who are truly ready to move past old, false, limiting beliefs, and jump into the limitlessness to which he points. If this strikes you as hyperbole, or fluff, take a look at the toppling world around you and consider again our initial proposal: can that empty, hostile world that we see in front of us possibly be all that life is truly meant to be?

Rather: can you sense into a world where anything is possible, where there is universal love and abundance, where we are all connected and joyful? To us, the only relevant purpose to life on earth is one which shoots for this reality. The magnificence of consciousness, in its purest unpolluted state, can only appear in this way.

Bentinho is here to excite anyone into this reality who will open and listen. We hope you will do just that in this truly remarkable conversation.

Enjoy!

For a number of years, the freedom of living a simple and mobile lifestyle called to us. We've always loved to travel, and have felt the most free when traveling with very little - be it roadtripping across the States with little more than a few outfits and a cooler, or traveling through Asia for months with only 24L, school-size backpacks. All of these were very temporary living situations, though. When Stephen first approached me about living in an RV, then, I balked pretty hard. I didn't like the look and feel of RVs, on the inside or outside, and I thought we would feel cramped. Customized tiny homes, on the other hand, felt very exciting, and I could imagine us building one that met all of our needs and joys in a home. Enter #vanlife. Learn all about our Sprinter van conversion build, and especially how we did it with our 1-year old daughter Sofia. Included here is our video tour of the converted van, plus many pics showing the various choices we made. Overall, we LOVE our van and highly recommend it as both an option for living and for long-term travel. If this interests you, and you have questions about the video or the post, please feel free to comment! We will write back and help you as much as we possibly can. Thanks!

Often we accept things we've been taught or told, until one day something strikes us as being a bit "off", and we begin to ask questions. For Ross Lukeman, that something was the traditional story we've been taught about home ownership and freedom. That is, if you own a home, you have achieved the American Dream. It struck Ross as strange that people buy homes, believing this story, then design the rest of their lives around paying for that home - staying in jobs they don't like to pay a mortgage, putting off the things they really want to do, and living that way sometimes for the rest of their lives. He also found it strange that he never learned about any types of "alternative" dwellings in architecture school, only the mainstream ways of building and making a home. So Ross began probing a question that gets to the very heart of how we live and enjoy our lives: What other types of homes are possible, and, specifically, what type of home will maximize a person's experience of freedom? He created a website dedicated to this question, and traveled across the country interviewing people building and living in all kinds of homes he hadn't learned about in school: strawbale homes, earthships, and even, vans. As it tends to happen when a person follows their natural interest, a calling emerged for Ross. What he found in his search was that the type of home that will create the greatest freedom depends actually on the individual - and what's most exciting and expansive for them, specifically. For Ross, what quickly became the most exciting was #vanlife. He started living in his own van, and now he helps people do that - online course, van builds. This is how we learned of him, his van conversion resources that are online (see shownotes for links to all of Ross’ resources). If you've ever wanted to live more simply, build your own home, explore another way of living, this episode is for you. Enjoy!

How many people talk about spending more time in nature? Yearn for time outside, in the ocean, forest, mountains? When we lived in NYC, talk of getting into nature was practically a mantra on the street. The thing is, while most people feel a call to nature, few end up spending much time there. Not so for Amy Schrift. After a heavy dinner out in the city, Amy felt a call to feed her body more naturally. That week, she discovered a living foods diet, and began eating only raw fruits and vegetables--a lifestyle she maintained for 8 years. Step by step, she reshaped her life in NYC to live as naturally as possible. She spent as much time as she could in the parks; learned where to forage fruit in upper Manhattan; shut the lights off at sunset; even slept on the floor of her high-rise studio apartment to ground herself. As she experienced it, something far beyond her was calling—she was being drawn forward by a deep force within and without, toward a more vibrant, awake, and powerful life than she had ever known. Through her, a new vision for her life emerged into being. Within two years, she was led to a parcel of wild, undomesticated land in Costa Rica. On the land, Amy lived for many years alone--or as she says "all one"--with nature. She slept under the stars without cover; planted and ate from the land; worked the fields naked in the sun; and co-created a farm and home together with her land, water, and air. Thirteen years later, the effect that this way of living has had on Amy is palpable immediately upon coming into her space. She brings a presence, awareness and clarity that are extremely rare today in our busy times. She is clearly at home and has become one with nature, its pace and rhythms. Imagine who you could be and how you might live if you heeded the call inside of you. There could be an entirely new person and a wild, open, expansive life awaiting you on the other side of that call. If you have ever felt a call to nature, and wondered how it might change you or your life, you will be riveted by this interview. Enjoy!

It was the ultimate celestial orgasm and I felt like a cup overflowing with plenty. The pulse of God moving through me brought such intense pleasure that I felt I might burst like the ripest berry in the sun.

For Nazarah Merah, awakening from the spell of the “real world” needed to be complete.

Various times in her life, she had experienced a profound blooming of consciousness, even having it penetrate her body, causing her to pulse with the true force of God.

But, this time, she was determined to lock into this state. No more would this be a fleeting experience, but a permanent feature of her life.

So, she headed into nature. The prior evening, she had been at a free talk given by the spiritual teacher, Bentinho Massaro, and had a dramatic and powerful awakening experience in the lecture hall. This experience continued afterwards at a local restaurant, with other attendees.

Following this experience, she knew she needed to find a quiet place to integrate, so she wandered along a stream in Sedona seeking the ideal spot. She sat herself down, and again approached – and passed – the magical threshold of the veil, or the wondrous membrane where our individuation disappears and we realize our oneness with everything.

From this day, Nazarah has lived completely in this space of pure awareness. It has moved her to serve others in all manner of ways, and has cleared her of past addictions and patterns of thought that once caused her, like many, to feel imprisoned in her own mind.

We explore this remarkable journey with Nazarah on this week’s podcast and how, to her, every bit of her life has been perfectly orchestrated to trigger the awakening she experienced. From her early childhood fraught with pain and trauma, to her time in the Army, to her first spiritual awakening in 2012, and then, her ultimate awakening last summer.

What struck us both was how accessible she makes this experience seem. She acknowledges that the “veil” is less of a hurdle than ever before given various recent changes on the planet, and that the main hurdle blocking anyone from this magical experience is…belief.

Do you believe this is possible? Or not.

Our hope with this episode of the Ownstream Podcast is to nudge your belief past any limits, making this experience within grasp for you, too.

If you look at the world around you, perhaps you will agree that waking up in the complete, irreversible way that Nazarah describes is not only important…but mandatory for our survival.

Enjoy!

We're three weeks into our Costa Rica adventure, exploring and enjoying this gorgeous country. And, quite consciously, we're considering this special place as a future home for our family. We've felt called here, through various channels. In many ways, it feels right and true to be here. Much feels aligned to who we are and our values. But, as far as a specific place to be (i.e. city or town), we've yet to find it. What we find interesting is how clearly we have been led to Santa Teresa, Costa Rica and how, after being here awhile, it's clearly not the place for us. What it is is another breadcrumb along the path, leading us somewhere - a "where" that isn't exactly clear yet. And so, we are here in Costa Rica, actively looking and exploring and have yet to find a spot that really rings the bell. Sure, there is plenty more travel to come - Dominical/Uvita, Samara/Nosara, Tamarindo. But, we felt it would be valuable to drop into this space with you and share about how the quest of pursuing your dreams looks like after you've departed and...before you've arrived. We present here a very candid and true portrait - in real time - of a young, western family adapting to life in another country on the hunt for a place we can truly call home. All the challenges and conditions that naturally emerge when you go for it, but aren't there yet. For people who long for another way of life, but who might be hesitant - we hope to share here a behind the scenes view of what it actually looks like. Our aim is to encourage you to go for it, but to also know what to fully expect as you depart the old for the new. Enjoy!

There are 1410 miles between Fairhope, AL and Monteverde, Costa Rica. We know this because while interviewing this week’s guest, Marvin Rockwell at his home in Monteverde, describing his epic journey there from Alabama in 1948, we pulled it up on Google maps. Of course, the internet wasn’t at the disposal of Marvin and the small community of Quakers heading south from Alabama in 1948 on their way to Costa Rica. Nor were fully completed roads. Marvin and three other men had just completed a year and a day sentence for evading the American draft, recently implemented to staff up the Korean War. Deeply against killing another, the group sought more peaceful pastures, and was drawn to Costa Rica given its warm, welcoming climate and recent decision to ban their military…entirely. In this episode, Marvin shares his remarkable story. He also talks about how Costa Rica has changed over the years, and how it hasn’t (it still has no military and a strong commitment to peace, for example). We learn about how he and others started the Quaker community in Monteverde, how they learned to farm and make a living there, how they tried (and failed) to construct an airstrip, the various adventures he has had since and the one key element that has allowed him to do so many different things over the years following his own, unique path. Marvin Rockwell quite literally blazed his own path in the world and his story will inspire you to do the same. Enjoy!

Once you begin to question one area of life, the lies suddenly begin to unravel everywhere. Along the way, you are likely to encounter all sorts of characters shouting their version of the "real story" from the rooftops. When you find someone as eloquent, trustworthy and well-researched as Dr. Pam Popper, however, you grab your seat and listen. As you will find, she held nothing back in this, our second conversation (she also appears on episode #6). She starts off with a bang, describing her concern with the over-medication of Americans for mental illness, pointing out that the commonly held notion of a "chemical imbalance in the brain" has no research base. She goes on to call into serious question the safety and value of vaccines, powerfully illuminates the profound dysfunction and profit motives in our system of modern medicine, and concludes with critical health care recommendations that can benefit everyone. While we discuss some challenging topics, where we are always ultimately left at the end of conversations like this one with Dr. Popper is with profound hope, marveling at the natural power and grace of the human body. It seems that if we simply nourish it properly and avoid or eliminate the toxins that the modern world promotes, it functions beautifully, quite capable of living a long and healthy life. Certainly, this formula is playing out perfectly for Pam. She is now 61 and has no vision of retiring or slowing down. She owns her own gym and yoga studio, eats a whole-foods plant-based diet, works around the clock as a doctor and teacher (by choice and loves it), and pumps out two videos and a ton of content each week spreading the truth about some of the most controversial health issues of our time. If the truth about nutrition, drugs, disease and the human body interests you, you will hang on Dr. Popper's every word. Enjoy!

For Natalie Sisson, doing anything which doesn't feel good for too long sets off an internal alarm. So, some 10 years ago, after too many days of feeling "off" at a corporate job...she quit. What's remarkable about her decision is that she didn't have a solid plan for what to do afterwards, but took the leap anyway. What unfolded from there is truly epic: 70 countries in 7 years, multiple online programs helping other digital nomads, a very popular podcast, her own book and a vast array of experiences that many only dream about. And, as she describes in this week's Ownstream Podcast, she mainly follows the simple breadcrumb trail of her excitement. She is comfortable not knowing what lays past the horizon. This outlook has given her the amazing ability to leap where others might balk. And, it has given her the conviction that others can do the same. She recently gave up the digital nomad lifestyle and now owns land in New Zealand and, with her partner, has a new vision of freedom and service. What's wonderful about this conversation is that Natalie believes that anyone can do this. The path she has walked isn't for the few. It's for those who decide it's for them. Consider yourself warned: this conversation might give you the clarity and motivation to decide to take the leap yourself. Enjoy!

Many dream of it, but very few actually do it: sell it all and move to paradise. For Nadine Pisani, it took her husband being hospitalized for 10 days for her to realize that their way of life as chiropractors in Pennsylvania wasn't working. A short time later, they walked off a plane in Costa Rica and knew immediately they had done the right thing. Since that time, they have stopped working so much, fostered all sorts of other creative interests and have fallen back in love with life and each other. In this episode, we talk specifically about her transition from living in the US to a full-timer in Costa Rica. Included in this is how her writing career took off (she has now authored 4 books), how they built their own B&B near Tamarindo and their daily coffee dance (something about fresh, Costa Rican coffee...). What surprises or challenges awaited them? What was it like transitioning to an entirely different (and slower) way of life? What is it actually like now some years later - was it all worth it? If you have ever dreamed of leaving it all behind and moving to paradise, you will love this episode. Nadine Pisani and her husband Rob did it and found a flourishing, vibrant and joyful life awaiting them in paradise. It wasn't always a straight path, but it has definitely been worth it. Enjoy!

Surround yourself with only people who are going to lift you higher.

It is remarkable what can change in a year when you start saying yes to life, and follow your own true resonance.

This year, we made many changes that had long been calling:

  • We quit all remaining jobs to pursue our true joy, excitement, and service to the world.
  • We sold our home, bought a sprinter van, and took off into the wild unknown with our daughter.
  • We started a business, Ownstream, after years of imagining it, and devoted ourselves fully to our callings–to people awakening, knowing their infinite potential, and living free, abundant lives.

We started Ownstream this year to amplify the message that every person can live their highest truth, joy, and excitement. That prescribed paths are entirely optional. That individual resonance and feeling is valid, and is, in fact, our greatest, truest guide. And that the very intention of life is to follow that resonance. Great joy, experiences, lessons, and service await that call. The only “work” is to follow it.

Our first creation in service of this mission was the Ownstream Podcast, which sought to share the stories of people doing just this–following their own resonance, listening to their pain and joy as guides, and using them as direction to pave their own paths in life. Paths that arch toward freedom and abundance, and that evince new and dynamic paradigms for limitless living that are open to everyone.

Assembling this trail of inspiration one conversation at a time over the course of the year by following our own excitement, we found when synthesizing our “Best of 2017” episode that we had in the process created a new and vibrant tribe–a circle of awakened and empowered souls saying YES to living their highest potential, and to serving others, bearing and sharing infinite depths of wisdom and inspiration. We were enlivened, filled up, and moved to tears re-listening to these conversations, selecting quotes and assembling the best content of the year for this episode.

Specifically, we feature excerpts relating the belief systems and transformational turning points of our guests, and content on the following topical paradigm shifts: tiny/mobile living; health and healing through diet; alternative education; entrepreneurship; redefining work as following your calling or excitement; and the new financial world of cryptocurrency (see below for a detailed index of episodes featured). Finally, we share beautiful, moving reflections from our guests about the joy of living in one’s true calling, unique expression, and service to the world.

It is tremendous what can change in a year when you refuse anymore to listen to the prescriptions of others, and begin to surround yourself only with the voices and energy of those who resonate, and who will tune you to your own highest frequency. You may find an entirely different you at the end. Or one that has been there all the time, just waiting… yearning.. leaping inside to be expressed.

It is possible for everyone to do this, and a gift we intend to give with this Best of 2017 episode. Our hope is that you will find someone and something in this episode that resonates, and that will call you to move further in the direction of your own great truth, joy, and calling.

What else is there, really, to do with this life?

Enjoy!

If you do follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while waiting for you, and the life you ought to be living is the one you are living.

~ Joseph Campbell

We’ve recently been reviewing past podcast episodes for our “Best of 2017” show set for release next week. We started with episode 1, which was the two of us laying out the intentions for the podcast and for our year. This episode was recorded at the beginning of 2017.

We were simply amazed at how most of our intentions were realized and directly experienced through the year, specifically:

  • Creating the Ownstream Podcast (& Ownstream itself)
  • To travel the west in a “Sprinter van or Airstream”
  • To dive into the teachings and community of Bentinho Massaro

As we pause for a beat during the holiday season, we wanted to share about our direct experiences with these aims and how, by simply following our excitement, all manner of coincidence and possibility were unleashed into our lives.

Specifically, we share about what it has felt like to align everything with our callings, throwing ourselves into Ownstream and remaking our lives to serve others through this work; to live freely closer to nature; and to pursue a direct and powerful understanding of God, infinite power and possibility. Throughout our conversation, we discuss the powerful influence that Bentinho Massaro’s teachings have had on our lives this year. We also address some press Bentinho has recently received, and how our lengthy, direct and personal experience with Bentinho and his beautiful, awakened community this year belies these critiques.

Mostly though, our aim here is to inspire you to leave behind your limiting beliefs and boldly step into a confident, empowered place as we embark upon the year 2018.

All in all, our aim with this podcast — as with Ownstream more generally as an engine of personal and collective transformation — is to inspire you to leave behind any lingering limiting beliefs holding you back as this year closes, and boldly step into a confident, empowered place as we embark together upon the new year in 2018.

Enjoy!

It is said that the inherent challenges of being an actor will rather naturally weed out those without the true bug in their system. If this is true, Matt Mitler must be completely consumed by it. His ambition though is not for fame nor fortune, as his interest in those conventional notions of success has waned as he and his work have matured. Instead, it is the tantalizing quest for truth, expansion and - perhaps most of all - the urgent need to serve others using his art. Imagine this: a group of actors wholly dedicated to the audience - be it in a theater, church or hospital - rather then the aggrandizement of themselves or the whole. In your picture, be certain that the troupe is imminently skilled, expressive, nimble and daring - all at once. This is Matt Mitler's utopia of sorts, his beloved group Dzieci Theatre, laden with some of the finest performers in New York City (including Matt himself). Dzieci's aim is to utilize theater and performance as a means for the personal evolution of the actor and the blooming of the heart in the audience. In this interview, we discuss the evolution of Matt's art and how seemingly every aspect of his career and the evolution of Dzieci has existed outside of the traditional box. We explore how Matt's amazing path has been in service to a hidden taste for truth, and that by trusting the calling of sorts, Matt's journey has brought him all sorts of surprises and connections. We also probe Matt's remarkable history having studied with directors Jerzy Grotowski & Eugenio Barba, the actor Ryszard Cieslak, humanistic psychologist Carl Rogers and more. Ultimately, this is a story of following one's unique taste for truth, and when mixed with a little faith, how this simple approach creates something remarkable, rich and imminently meaningful. Enjoy!

Just a few years ago, Hemma Haridin ran multiple accounting franchises in New York City. She was marginally fulfilled, supported her family and loved being her own boss. Upon the passing of her dear grandfather though, some parts of herself began to open up, revealing a vastly different blueprint for living than the one she previously assumed. She began receiving messages - very clear ones - related to a deeper calling or capacity that she had barely tapped. "You're a healer", she heard. After hearing this exciting message, she quickly went to google (as you do) to learn more. The first search result was a modality of healing that rang the bell for her -ThetaHealing®. That night, she attended a nearby workshop, cleared some blockages in her psyche and became an immediate believer. In other words, she moved quickly, acting on her excitement with confidence. The results were startling. Two short years later, Hemma has a thriving healing business, helping others to clear their blockages and step into their life paths with full power, and leads powerful trainings enabling others to uncover their healing talents. She also has a unique specialty which is to empower spiritual entrepreneurs to fully own their power and their path. In this episode we discuss her stunning life change, how she became so confident to act quickly and decisively on her excitement and how easy and swift it can be to heal old wounds and traumas. It's a story of speed, yes, but also one of boldly stepping into one's true calling in life and the magic that awaits when we do. Enjoy!

If something is wrong with anyone, look first to the stomach

~ Arnold Ehret

At the intersection of science, diet and the human body sits Gino Di Serio — a lifetime student of wellness and healing, and seeker of the keys to optimal health. If there was a diet or fast out there over the past 50 years, Gino tried it.

We first learned of his magnum opus — the Master Fast System (MFS) — via Bentinho Massaro. When Bentinho mentioned that he had done a short version of the MFS during a recent retreat, we got interested. We eat a fairly healthy plant-based diet, but it wasn’t always that way, and we have long been interested in fasting and cleansing as means to thoroughly detoxify the body and maximize health.

So, we ventured over to Gino’s site and began digging in. Upon finishing his lengthy and detailed “protocol” for an MFS (linked below), we realized we were on the precipice of reexamining yet another mainstream paradigm — one that we have always taken for granted. Namely:

Our body’s dependence on food and water.

We eat a vegan diet, and have long championed the successes of plant-based eating in preventing and reversing mainstream, chronic disease. But Gino goes much further. Eating itself is the problem, Gino says, and most of the eating we do creates obstructions in the body that are the root of all disease. That’s right — all disease. The body gets less than 20% of its energy from food, he says, and if we are conscious enough to tap into the vast reserves of energy around us, we will find we don’t need to eat at all, or certainly can eat very little, and much, much less than we generally eat today.

Gino credits much of his work to German health educator, Arnold Ehret and his simple and elegant formula for health, namely:

Vitality = Power – Obstructions (V = P – O)… or, in other words: less is more.

That is, the body and spirit have inherent, vital power. How strong and vital the body remains depends upon how many obstructions we introduce. Turns out that less food in general — and less of certain kinds of foods — creates less obstruction.

Having experimented the length of his life with many types of fasts and diets, Gino drew together the best of the lessons he learned from his study and experience to develop the Master Fast System two years ago. The MFS is a clear, rigorous path to clearing the body of obstructions — obstructions created by our body’s response to the toxic foods and liquids we consume, and other toxins in our air, water and environment.

Specifically, the MFS involves drinking grape juice with lemon juice throughout the day (2-3 quarts total), periods of dry fasting, daily enemas, detoxifying and clearing agents (psyllium husk powder, activated charcoal and bentonite clay) and a healthy dose of herbs to support the body as it clears itself of its debris.

After the fast, Gino helps people to discover a new and more optimal relationship to food to keep their bodies clean and free of obstructions moving forward. In fact, many people who undertake the full MFS radically simplify their diets afterward in order to eliminate or vastly reduce heavy mucus forming foods such as meat, dairy, grains, fats and even some fruits and vegetables.

In this interview, Gino lays out a distinctly different paradigm from the ones even we are used to about health, the human body and optimal intake. We cover the vast array of fasts and diets Gino has experimented with over the years, and how it all led beautifully to his developing the Master Fast System. We also discuss why it is so urgent for people to clean out their bodies, and the radical turnarounds Gino has seen when people undertake a full MFS (108 days).

This conversation is certain to challenge your notions of health, diet and nutrition. It did ours! Five days now into our own brief experiment with the MFS, we feel great and are excited for the journey. Keep an open mind, and you just might find that anything and everything is truly possible.

Enjoy!

(NOTE: If doing an MFS interests you, we suggest you carefully read the MFS Protocol by clicking the link below the episode. Gino is very clear that the entire protocol must be followed for safety and effectiveness.)

Prior to working with us, Benita Conde was struggling. She was working in a job she didn't like, rarely saw her family, hadn't taken dance class in years (having loved dance for decades), suffered from eczema and - most importantly - felt trapped in a life that didn't feel "good". Then, she did the unthinkable...she asked for help. We were the fortunate recipients of her call, and for the last 6 months have witnessed one of the most dramatic life turnarounds we have ever seen. She now runs her own online business, joyfully helping others to radically love their lives, sets her own schedule, spends more time with family and feels awake, empowered and fully alive. Our reason for featuring Benita is that she is most accessible - she is not a best-selling author, she doesn't have an intensely (and therefore unrelatable) dramatic story, nor does she have thousands of followers on Instagram (yet). What she has is a very real turnaround story complete with confusion, bold decisions, angst, awareness and, eventually, triumph. Our hope is that by hearing her so beautifully share her story, YOUR transformation will seem more possible. We believe it is, and know that there is magic in each of us waiting for us to nudge it into bloom. Benita is a tremendous example of what can happen when the right client and coaching come together. A life of radical love, light and powerful service to others - a combo we feel is everyone's birthright. Enjoy!

When presented with the idea of “world schooling” as a replacement for formal, classroom education, most parents typically default into various forms of knee-jerk reactions: "What about having friends? How can you cultivate a social circle while on the move? What about college? Does this style of education prepare you for university? How will my son/daughter get a job if they aren't formally educated?” These questions are certainly valid but usually point to one's own programming and a lack of clarity on what world schooling truly means. Enter Hannah Miller, the self-described "Edventure Girl". From the ages of 11-18 she, along with her three younger siblings, was officially "world schooled". Along the way, Hannah encountered profound adventures and a deep appreciation for the world and it's vast and vibrant cultural landscape. And, she has made many friends, is currently enrolled in one of Canada's most prestigious universities (Queens University in Kingston, Ontario) and has a remarkably evolved outlook on the notion of career and work which she directly attributes to being educated outside of the box. We are honored to share our conversation with Hannah and her clear and shining example of what happens when learning, travel and excitement are given the room to mingle, connect and flourish. In other words, a wonderfully varied, curious and thoughtful person most ready for the world.

After building the complete picture of happiness sold to each of us by society, Didi Taihuttu was more stressed and worn-out than ever. Upon realizing this, he didn't get angry. Quite simply, he sold it all back in an effort to reclaim his and his family's freedom. Unlike many who spend their lives addicted to the accumulation of material goods, Didi was able to take a step back and see that - in fact - the "stuff" was taking away from his happiness, creating more stress, worry and anxiety. So, he sold everything and with his wife & 3 girls, traveled the world. But, the question remained - what to do with all the money made? In keeping with his unconventional pattern of defying the norm, Didi invested all of it - every last dime - in cryptocurrencies. And this has turned him into a fascinating story for the media and an inspiration for us. This episode of the Ownstream Podcast features Didi and his story, but also reveals - in laymen's terms - what cryptocurrencies are (Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc), clarifies the brilliance of the blockchain and, most importantly, reveals what drives him and his family more than anything else (and how their motivation has nothing to do with making money). Enjoy!

BTW: Our Sprinter Van is now available for rent! Click here to learn more & view availability.

People don’t take trips, trips take people.

~ John Steinbeck

We’re back in Southern California.

At least for now, that is. We’ve returned to the San Diego area for the month of November to regroup and complete some exciting Ownstream projects we were inspired to create on our trip.

So, what have the first 3 months of our “van life” adventure been like? What did we learn? Where did we go? How did our 1-year old daughter do, living (& sleeping!) in a converted Sprinter van?

And, what lies on the horizon for us as we remain completely untied to any location, committed to following our excitement and seeing what this magical universe has in store for us?

This has easily been the most dynamic and joyous 3 months of our lives. Our intent setting out on this journey was to “repattern”, meaning: to leave behind the old life and its daily/weekly patterns, enter into nature and have the means to be fully flexible, allowing our excitement to lead the way. Prior to the trip, we thought this might help us see more clearly where we might want to eventually settle, the pace of life we wanted to create and the various ways we would spend our time and energy.

All of this was most certainly clarified for us. But, of greater interest was the powerful spiritual experience that the journey became. It was as if the trip itself became our guru – teaching us at every turn, helping us more fully open, let go, be, allow…and love.

(For more trip pics, please scroll to the bottom of the page) The depths to which this adventure took us within ourselves have left us breathless and in awe of who and what we truly are. In fact, the conclusion of the journey was a week spent with spiritual teacher, Bentinho Massaro in Sedona, which further accelerated our awakening, confirming everything we learned along our trip while also fully introducing us to our tribe.

In short, what we thought would be a wild and fun adventure of the senses expanded into a profound vehicle for awakening, evolving and deepening our connections within our family, and – most importantly – to that which we call our true “Self”.

This all forms the content for this episode of the Ownstream Podcast. We begin by discussing the basic trip outline, where we went and all of the forces that shaped our journey. We conclude by painting the portrait of what is next for us: dramatic life changes in every way, which evolve by the day as we tune into our excitement, and which directly tie back to our decision to leave behind the world and life we knew before this trip, and commit to never turning back.

We hope you enjoy!

Much love –

Author, dad and farmer Ben Hewitt has emerged as one of the leaders in the alternative education movement. For over a decade he and his wife Penny have explored the nuances of "unschooling" their kids (a word they admittedly dislike). Basically, the idea is to give kids room to explore, follow their excitement and then - as parents - step in and facilitate, add enthusiasm and get out of the way. The result are two boys who are independent, confident and highly expressed. This road has led them through all manner of peaks and valleys, which we explore in this conversation. What happened when Ben's eldest son wasn't reading by the (supposed) "correct" time? What did Ben and Penny do when they discovered their youngest son trapping animals on their farm? How did they respond when their eldest suddenly desired a traditional school/educational experience? And, what are their views of the standard educational system in the west now with over 10 years of experience behind them? We discuss this and much, much more with Ben Hewitt in this Ownstream Podcast interview. Mostly, we delve into the remarkable nature of learning and creativity and how joyful and expansive it can be if we simply allow kids to follow their own excitement, and then, do the hardest thing: let go. Enjoy!

We must be willing to get rid of the life we’ve planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us.

~ Joseph Campbell

For Anurag Gupta, life is simple.

He currently lives out of a small pack and his motorcycle (pictured below), doesn’t market himself in the traditional sense, barely touches social media and carries a clear vision that could transform our world.

And, for those fortunate enough to meet and work with him – he makes a deep, and profound, impact.

He sees so much potential joy around him which he seeks to awaken, customizing a teaching that can be delivered to many making a profoundly happy and meaningful life accessible for anyone.

His maxim is clear – find, and live, your calling.

Once discovered, build an architecture and environment that can support the activation of this truth. Then, go for it. Have fun. “Be awesome”.

Anurag’s life is a pure reflection of his work. On more than one occasion, he has given away all of his things (including his money) and changed everything in support of his powerful purpose: that people know that they are source.

In other words, you are the source of your own joy, abundance and freedom. No one else is – you are.

We first became aware of Anurag via the spiritual teacher, Bentinho Massaro. Last January, Anurag appeared at one of Bentinho’s events and laid out his refreshingly clear – and uncompromising – vision for how to live. This talk led us to drop everything that didn’t align with both of our callings, sell most of our stuff, and travel the west coast in a converted Dodge Sprinter camper van with our 1-year old daughter, Sofia.

It was the exact kick in the butt we needed, and it has meant everything…

We are currently wrapping up this trip, having arrived in Sedona for – amongst other things – a Bentinho Massaro event. But, this has easily been the most dynamic and powerful few months ever for us, helping us to more and more embody our callings and live, more and more, in alignment with this true joy and excitement.

We have also never been as clear on who we are, what we are doing and what we stand for.

And, we trace it directly back to Anurag.

Thus, we were overjoyed to speak with him and he did not disappoint. For nearly 90 minutes we discuss:

  • How to find your calling in life (and why it’s never actually about you)
  • What alignment truly looks like, and how changing your architecture and environment to suit your calling is imperative
  • Integrity – what it actually means, and how your calling becomes your true north across all areas of life
  • The crucial difference between “creating” and “consuming” and how the majority of people live mostly “consuming” and how it never leads to a joyful life
  • His policy on who he works with, and why he frequently says “no”
  • How, by simply following your calling, and staying as true to it as you possibly can, can lead you into a life beyond what you can currently envision for yourself (and why “letting go” of your vision for what you want might be the best thing for you to do)

And so, so much more. Anurag’s vision for how to live is incredibly simple. And, yet, the full activation of it might prove to be the ultimate, and most fulfilling, challenge in anyone’s life. We hope you enjoy this one, and find his message as inspiring as we do.

Lynne McTaggart admits she is a "disruptor". Trained as an investigative journalist, she is highly skilled at identifying questionable practices or truths, exploring these deeply and testing them to obtain some measure of objectivity. Initially, it was medical practices and treatments that didn't seem to deliver their promised results. This led to her highly successful magazine "What Doctors Don't Tell You". She never expected her life's journey to propel her into the study of spirituality, consciousness and healing. But, as is so often the case, our path can sometimes be surprising as it leads us to our destiny of fulfillment and service. This has certainly been the case for Lynne as she now explores the power of small groups of people (8, in fact) that - together - focus on a collective intention aiming to positively impact others. These intentions range from lowering the death tolls in war-torn areas to healing a disease in a specific person. The results are astonishing, most notably in the group members themselves. Seems all sorts of miracles can flow once we focus on serving others. These amazing results form the basis of this week's Ownstream podcast interview with Lynne. Learn "what" an intention truly is, how to form your own groups of 8 (and how to focus them) & why there is such power and leverage within the vast field of consciousness which connects us all. It was a huge pleasure speaking with Lynne, a true leader at the vital intersection of science and spirit. Enjoy!

Mike Perkins and Gina Savage had, independent of the other, always dreamed of owning their own Oregon farm. Gina toiled away at a corporate job while Mike ran various businesses, while periodically traveling and living out of his camper. When they met, and fell in love, both felt buoyed to go for it and act on their excitement. Just three years later, the couple owns a thriving, organic farm in southern Oregon called the "Surf Ranch" where they grow vegetables, raise cattle and build community with other, local farmers. They also just happen to have one of the more amazing Airbnb rentals in the USA, and are praised by virtually everyone who stays with them (including us!). How have they elevated to the level of "super hosts"? What is their secret to inspiring epic, rave reviews? And, what is life truly like for two people who gave it all up for nature and their shared love of growing food? For many, cashing in the chips for the farm lifestyle is a fantasy, perhaps even a dream. For Gina and Mike, it's a dream come true and they aren't afraid to admit they are loving every second of it. Enjoy!

When Sara Warden's husband landed a great job in Morocco, they jumped at the opportunity. They were done with New York City, and felt the call to take their two kids to another country enabling them to directly learn about another culture and way of life. Thus begins Sara and her family's amazing journey with world schooling and living life outside of the box. They have since traveled to many countries, learning and experiencing great art, culture, language and more. This radically different approach to education has also caused Sara to question many other "normal" aspects of western life too: social media, mobile devices, food...you name it. Like many other parents, Sara has found the traditional way of educating her kids to be lacking and that the world schooling approach has awakened a natural, organic love of learning in her kids. In this episode of the Ownstream Podcast, we discuss her experiences with traveling with her kids, how world schooling works for them and how it has opened up an entirely new way of life for her and her family. Namely, a life more fully aligned with their values and excitement, and the wish to inspire others to do to the same. Enjoy!

Many people want to change their lives, but few actually do - why is this? Perhaps it's because they aren't truly "all in". What then separates those who succeed from those who don't? Virtually everyone we have spoken with on the Ownstream Podcast, or just in the flow of life, who has pulled off of the mainstream path creating something truly their "own" have done what we call "burn the boats". In other words, they have taken irrevocable, and often dramatic, action in the direction of their life's calling. This sometimes means leaving a job, moving across the world, selling everything and traveling or some other radically different, out of the box, act. In this article, we discuss why this is so and break down the specific steps to successfully designing your own "burn the boats" (or "confirmation", as we call it) moment.

Some dozen or so years ago, Dr. Eric Pearl had a thriving chiropractic practice in Los Angeles and seemed to be leading a fairly 'normal' life. That is, until the lights came on - literally. One night, Dr. Pearl was awoken to find the lights had turned on in his bedroom. Certain of a prowler, he climbed out of bed with his beloved Doberman by his side, only to find no one had burglarized his home. The following days and weeks though at his office forecast a very uniquely different sort of arrival. This explains the dawn of Reconnective Healing, a revolutionary healing modality which - to Dr. Pearl - stands at the true leading edge of health, science and consciousness. We had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Pearl some years ago at one of his workshops, and indeed the frequencies of energy which flow during the simple practice of reconnective healing are profoundly elegant, vivifying and truly have an intelligence all their own. This podcast episode delves into the nuances of the practice, covers more of the story of "how" these frequencies began flowing through Dr. Pearl (and, subsequently, his many thousands of students worldwide), the nature of consciousness, God & what it means to truly "know". It is safe to say that Dr. Pearl was initially reluctant to step into the world of energy and healing, but nowadays - convinced of the truth of his cause - he is unabashed in his belief that his calling is truly serving others, while also rather naturally expanding his own life and understanding of our place in the vast universal field of cosmic energy.

Cara Thomas was stuck. She was tired of her day job, her relationship had just ended, New York was wearing her out. She knew that life could be more than this, so like more and more people, she dropped it all and headed to Asia. She purchased a 1-way ticket to Mumbai, and did not look back. Prior to her departure, inspiration struck - ask her closest friends to give her small challenges to do along the way, enabling her to both pursue adventure but also invite serendipity and spontaneity into her daily experience. Since she loosely planned to be away for 90 days, she asked for (and received) 90 cards. These actions ranged from paying it forward by purchasing a treat for someone behind you in line to asking a stranger for a mantra. So, of course one of these led her to meeting Steven Tyler in a Bangkok hotel and the other...to connecting with us in a cafe in Ubud, Bali. We've been pals ever since, and we're honored to share her wonderfully organic entrepreneurial journey with you. She shares here how "Serenflipity" has naturally grown into a full-blown business, how travel helped her get unstuck in her life, her 90-day structure to life experiments and how serendipity is less “magic” and more a state of mind, available to anyone, anytime. Fierce determination. This describes the look on Theresa's face after watching the documentary, "Forks Over Knives". Having always suspected that her diet was "off" & while currently watching her father suffer from cancer (which, as she learned in the film, is directly connected to eating meat and dairy), Theresa's mission became clear: transition to the whole food, plant-based (WFPB) diet and, then, help others do the same. The result has been a dramatic transition across virtually every area of her life - weight loss, sleep, fitness, focus, feeling connected with nature, even the birth of her daughter - all directly helped by her diet. On this episode of the Ownstream Podcast, she discusses the 4 steps to effectively transition from any diet to the WFPB diet, the myths surrounding protein and calcium, she reveals her dramatic history with food, health, body image and healing and so much more, plus how you can work with her to help enact these dramatic changes in your life too. Khe Hy had it made (so to speak). He was a rising star at a major firm on Wall St, was receiving regular bonuses he simply couldn't possibly spend and was admired by anyone who met or knew him. And yet...he wasn't happy. On Khe's scale, he was about a 6 or 6.5 out of 10. Much to his surprise, money did not equate to happiness. So, he did what virtually no one does in that position - he quit. Nowadays, some two years later, the Khe Hy happiness quotient floats around 9.5 out of 10 on most days, he makes plenty of money (though not nearly as much as before) and he shares valuable content via his rapidly growing "RadReads" list, talks to millennials on SnapChat daily and dotes on his daughter, wife and friends. He has realized one of life's best kept secrets: happiness is a choice, and from it stem all sorts of wonders. Khe's life now reveals this truth, and his story is sure to inspire anyone loaded down in a career or life path that doesn't truly excite them. There are two mistakes one can make along the road to truth. Not going all the way and not starting.

~ Buddha

Theresa at the Buddhist Stupa in Sedona A very quick episode this week, as we’ve just returned from Sedona and our truly amazing 2-day event with Bentinho Massaro.

The aptly named “How To Realize Endless Bliss” retreat was held across two separate iterations – a 5-day session & a 2-day session. We attended the weekend, 2-day event.

The retreat was broken into 4 individual meetings (2/day) with Bentinho seated upon a small platform, and about 125 people in attendance. What we received was a rivetingly contemporary, highly relevant and leading edge discussion on who we are and what are actual possibilities are in this time.

In short, it was remarkable and anyone who has even the faintest interest in spirituality, and truly waking up, owes it to themselves to become familiar with Bentinho and his teaching.

What specifically did we learn and what was the experience like? And, what does Bentinho have planned next and how can you get involved?

This is all covered in this week’s episode. Enjoy!

(NOTE: We highly recommend listening to episode 17 with Cory Katuna in companion to this week’s episode to learn more about Bentinho’s current work)

Living from thought instead of living from Awareness is the cause of all human suffering.

~ Michael Langford, The Direct Means to Eternal Bliss

A beaming Cory Katuna in the environs of Sedona “Follow your excitement”

This tantalizing mantra of Bentinho Massaro’s seemed to come naturally to Cory Katuna. Without need of explanation, she would often find herself at all sorts of interesting gatherings and seminars.

Living in Boulder, CO comes with plenty of options, so one evening she happened to be attending an event at Ken Wilber’s Integral Center when she was clued into a special night to come featuring a young spiritual prodigy. Feeling excited by this remarkable possibility, she quickly decided to attend.

A few nights later, her life changed. And since that evening just two years ago, she has been brought into the epicenter of one of the more tectonic spiritual teachings of our time.

Welcome to the world of 29-year old Bentinho Massaro, whose stated aim is to achieve a fully enlightened civilization by the year 2035. Bentinho is convinced that a real, enduring awakening can be had by anyone who deeply desires it and he conveys this aim at a time when the earth, and humanity, urgently need it.

Enlightenment is most possible, indeed it is our birthright.

But, the blooming of truth is often done through the crust of a habitual sleep which many simply accept as “life”. The role of the teacher, then, is to forever innovate in the face of these powerful forces.

This leads us to Sedona, and Bentinho’s recent decision to work intensely with a dozen adepts in the high desert in and amongst the swirling vortices and magical red rock mesas for two weeks. As you’ve probably already guessed, Cory Katuna was there.

Cory (right) meditating as part of the Sedona Experiment Cory (middle), with Bentinho Massaro (right) For us, we have been exposed to all sorts of spiritual teachings, books, gatherings, groups…you name it, we’ve tried it all. Nothing has brought the heat like Bentinho. For anyone who has trod a spiritual path for some time, has perhaps given up or feels disenchanted, Bentinho can be a much needed breath of fresh, joyful air. He has charm, resonance, and has seemingly included everything in his vast teaching. And, recently, he made his Trinfinity Academy – complete with courses in enlightenment, empowerment and infinity – available for free.

Which brings us back to Cory. She is not your average “seeker” by any means. She is not precious, she uses words common to most 25-year olds (“rad”, “epic”, etc), and has a refreshing bluntness which hasn’t the slightest scent of “new-ageyness” to it. Indeed, she is real and engaged, a most attractive spokesperson for her friend and teacher, Bentinho.

We are honored and deeply grateful that she spoke with us about her remarkable and profound experiences as part of the Sedona Experiment.

We hope you enjoy this truly amazing conversation!

He is now at the true leading edge of nutrition and self-transformation, making the clear claim that our diet IS the catalyst in becoming who we are truly meant to be, a fact often missed by those seeking to fully evolve. In this conversation learn about Ronnie's path towards optimal nutrition, what "dis"ease truly is and how we can mitigate and reverse chronic conditions with food, how cooking food de-natures it reducing its ability to support health, that sobriety - for him - is about detoxifying from the illusions painted by the mainstream and stepping into a truly "magical" reality filled with spirit and possibility. Mobile living is becoming more and more popular, as is evidenced by the rise of the tiny house on wheels, people living in RV's and the #vanlife movement (just check Instagram). So, why did we recently purchase our own 2005 Dodge Sprinter van to convert into a movable home? What is our plan for designing the interior, and where do we plan to travel? And, most importantly, what are we searching for through this project and, as important, what are we leaving behind? This episode of the Ownstream Podcast features co-founders Stephen and Theresa discussing the project, including how we manifested the perfect van for us and why now is the perfect time for us to join the #vanlife lifestyle. Enjoy!

The second step in our radical lifestyle redesign process is something we call "revisioning". This is where we allow the flourishing energy of our "calling" to emerge and paint a new and exciting vision for what our lives could truly be. It is the ultimate adventure, specifically designed for us. This inevitably leads to an increase in our excitement and, quite possibly, a corresponding uptick in our own resistance or fear. This points to a simple albeit challenging process of both ramping up our excitement and mitigating seeming risk, which we explore in this second article in our radical lifestyle redesign series.

What is your calling? What excites you, fills you with joy? These questions mark the beginning of a process we call radical lifestyle redesign. In order to ultimately create a more meaningful, joyful and vibrant reality for yourself it must start at the beginning - and that is, with discovering your true "calling". From here, all sorts of radically fresh and unique patterns can emerge. Too often, people will reach a place of dissatisfaction and attempt to change an external aspect to their life (job, home, car...) which are ultimately destined to return them to this same, familiar place. Only by returning to your ultimate home, or calling, will anything new and truly exciting emerge. And, as we will show, this path is marked with magic and synchronicity, eager for your success.

A few years later, now a successful entrepreneur helping coaches present themselves with power and authenticity from the stage, Jon looks back during this interview to share his amazing story. Also, learn about his own powerful attempts at self-transformation (which worked) and learn insights into starting your own online business and why now is the ideal time to do so. Enjoy!

Coffee, Cookies & Cheese. This was the basic, daily diet for Pam Popper (before she was "Dr." Pam Popper). She was overweight, unhappy and exhausted. She was 38. And she smoked 4 packs of cigarettes per day. Now, she is one of the preeminent experts in the expanding field of diet and chronic, western disease. She, like Dr. T. Colin Campbell & Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, is now at the forefront of a true revolution. One which advocates eating a whole-foods, plant-based diet, eliminating processed foods (as much as possible) and learning how to tell your doctor, "no". In this interview, Dr. Popper most importantly shares with us the urgent need to move away from the standard western diet, embracing a whole-foods, plant-based diet (WFPB). She also discusses the tragedy of modern medicine & her new, empowered vision of healthcare.

  • Our new mantra: follow your excitement
  • A vision for our future including travel, surfing and an Airstream
