The idea came somewhere in december last year to have a compilation. We would like to take a chance and thank to our good frend who doesnt want to be named to make it possible in many ways. We will continue at aproximetly the same time of the next year with second edition with our family members and artists we like to work with. Was quite good accepted among our frends and reached 10.000 plays in first two weeks of release on Bandcamp :)

After several requests we made it available on Kunaki to order a physical copy too.

The name Retroactive pop out in the last days before the release, searching books and web for name that will suit the music and our philosophy and was a natural thing to choose from, since music the compilation represents is present now for such a long time and its just a glimpse of our past and its just that: Roots in its new outfit. We dont want to make a revolution with it and just make something nice that people will like.

It comes with two slightly different covers from our good frend Ms. Nous Déjà Vu.

Cover suits so weel, the see show us the infinity of the music present on the compilation and the man looking into the distance (past) makes it even more mysterious. Suitable for long and cold winter nights, lazy summer afternoons or for wearing dancing shoes, Retroactive is a must have! Carefully mastered and crafted from our family member A. Drascic who has also contributed a track and is a 1/2 of Slovenian duo Timequake which will be our next release in april with remixes from young talented Slovenian artist Organon and others. Second instalment is (again) coming from the country of thousands lakes and islands: Finland. Teemu T inhabits the old-time industrial surrounding of City Tampere. From his first tracker sequencer tests to full-scale projects, he has developed a style of dub techno, with phases and echoes of modern time digital dub made, without forgetting the old classic sound of analoque machines.With releases on Pohojola, Quadrant, Zooloft, ZeECc, Instabil, Inceptive, Carmarage and higly respected Bio-Mechanics, he considers his music on a more sophisticated aspect. We are glade to have him onboard for future outcome on our label.

Finally, the time for Timequake has come! After almost two years after the original mix of the track Dopamine has been produced by a Slovenian dub techno duo Timequake, the release was published yesterday on September 11th 2011 by Retrospective Zoology. Beside the the original mix the release features a dub techno version and seven remixes by artists, such as Organon, Optic_, Fingers in the noise, Substituent, vs/Kurayami, and Sonitus eco, respectively.

Yari is a finnish musician and does our very first welcome podcast. Very appropriate for this time of year: cold and with feel of his scandinavian roots.. R.Z.: Where do you come from and how is electronic music scene at your country?P.S.: I'm from Pavullo nel Frignano, a very very small town up in the mountains near Modena. The electronic music scene around Italy is quite good but very underground,It's a country where only major and OLD record companies decide everything.R.Z.: What does the name Pas sûR means?P.S.: the name Pas suR means "unsure" in french and it should be written with the "û",because "pas sur" means "non over" (something that goes like that...). I'm an extremely unsure person!R.Z.: Tell us more about your musical background?P.S.: I've been an electric guitarist for some years, playing in different rock bands. I never listened to electronic music until February 2010,when I've been asked to make some music for a modern dance company; I then got into music production, making electronic music using my computer and the guitar.R.Z.: You said that Italy is very underground. From our perspective we see alot of commercialisation in electronic music in many countries. djs are producing "super" generic hits just to get some gigs. Any thoughts and does this commercialisation affects you and your music?P.S.: I always try to listen to music without filters and it happens very often that I really like "super tunes" on the radio. The general commercialisation is a bit annoying when someone is trying to make a living out of the music industry, but I think that the solution lies in being very versatile; that's why I'm trying to make very different types of music.R.Z.: Tell us more about you recent EP on RZ. we hear some presidential speeches. Any special message?P.S.: You know, all the 2012 affair, NWO, conspiracy theories and all that mess of these days,i wanted to include a little message to make some awareness but by connecting it to some 40's-50's-60's famous events.R.Z.: Have you played any gigs? DJ or Live? what do you use for your performance?P.S.: I've played tons of gigs with my rock cover band in Italy but few with my Pas sûR project,as I said, I just started! (spring 2010) anyway, I played at art galleries and showcasesbut i'll put a lot of effort in finding some gigs in the upcoming new year.For gigs I use Ableton live with a simple midi controller but I'm considering switching to the wonderful Traktor s4...R.Z.: Some of your favorite artists, bands?P.S: Favorite bands: Dredg and The Art of Noise.I listen to a LOT of "non famous" (I don't know how to call them)artists I find on internet; some of my favorites: Altered Tensions, Koolmorf Widesen and Eleven Tigers.random album from my favorites (way too many): Access to Arasaka - :PortR.Z.: You are coming from the land of pasta :) is Italian food what you most like to eat. First as a small events in Ljubljana / Slovenia from 2008 and in year 2010 we had a wish for a platform to release our own music aswell others artist music. You are very welcome to send us your mixes for our RZ podcast or unsingned tracks in fields of dub-techno, deep, dubstep, ambiental and similar genres and we would like to take a chance to announce our very first VA compilation from our family members and other well established home and foreign artsits early in year 2011.

Our first welcome podcast will be online these days to give you a hint where will be going as a label.
