Is it the will of God for believers to prosper financially or is that just what American preachers say to get rich off of Christians? Some have wrongly believed that poverty can be godly and the Lord could use it to keep His children humble and dependent on Him. However, this contradicts His nature and Deuteronomy 28 lists poverty as a curse. There are also multiple stories in scripture that highlight God's provision. Understand through God's word that it is not His will for Christians to lack, but to prosper as they follow Him and His commands (Psalm 1:1-3, Joshua 1:8)

Many people wrongly assume that this generation will not accept the message of the gospel unless it is modernized. This is not true. It is the power of God that causes men and women to believe and put their faith in Him (Exodus 4:1-5, 1 Corinthians 2:4-5) and that same power lives inside of every Christian. One roadblock to holy living is the fact that a person CAN'T live holy. The flesh is hardwired to disobey God and has desires that directly oppose God's. In order to successfully live a life that is right before God, humans access God's power and ability. Through it, a person can finally deny fleshly desires and live in complete holiness.

There is much confusion about whether believers should speak in tongues in church settings. "There must be an interpreter present""Unbelievers will think you're crazy". These statements are made based off a misinterpretation of the Apostle Paul's words in 1 Corinthians 14. The Christians in Corinth misused this gift and this began to cause confusion among the church, so Paul set parameters in place that would stop the confusion and cause the Church to be edified during gatherings. He did not discourage the public expression of tongues in church settings. Last month, nations watched as a move of God broke out at Asbury University in Kentucky and began to spread. Because of this, many Christians now have an even greater desire to see revival in their own city and nation. Many times, the manifestation of God's power brings about criticism and persecution. Some Christians can't take this and try to tone down the move of God to appease sceptics. However, the bible lets us know that the early church carried a Spirit of boldness that caused them to push past persecution and shake their nation (Acts 4). A believer's salvation is not based on works, but does that nullify the importance of it? Some people believe that works do not matter, but the bible actually states the opposite. While works do not matter in regards to salvation, the Christian has a duty to get to work for the Lord after they are saved. The bible also lets believers know that their faith must be coupled with works or their faith is useless.

Our words are very powerful and we should never be flippant with the way we talk. Some people have problems with the things that they confess over themselves and continuously sabotage themselves by speaking words of doubt and unbelief. The fix to this issue is not just changing what you say, but firstly changing what you put inside of your heart. The bible states that "the mouth speaks what the heart is full of" (Luke 6:45), so if we would like to stop speaking wrongly and start confessing God's word, we should fill ourselves with that. The bible lets us know that light and darkness cannot co-exist; every time light shows up, darkness comes subject to it. Believers have been called the light of the world and they have been charged to let their light shine before people. If we are walking and the light and letting it shine, there is no way for the enemy to snuff it out and overtake us because darkness is never able to overcome light. In this episode, Marlon deals with the fact that believers cannot be possessed by demons because the light that they have subdues him and his works.
Through the years, people have debated whether or not a Christian can be a target for demon possession; some people believe that this can happen, but this cannot be true because the believer has submitted their life to God, has the holy Spirit living in them and has been given authority over all the works of the enemy. Therefore this could only happen if the devil had enough authority to kick the Holy Spirit out of His temple or if they come to a cohabitation agreement. Neither can happen. In Part 1 of this series, Marlon begins to deal with the fact that Christians are not their own, but are temples of the Holy Spirit. Therefore NOBODY else can own them.
Being a Christian is not popular nor does is bring about approval from many people; a lot of times it brings opposition and persecution. The enemy often uses these things to intimidate believers and make them back off their purpose and faith in Christ, but instead of backtracking, Christians should press forward even in the midst of these attacks. Every human has a God-given purpose that must be fulfilled in our lifetime and as we begin to seek God for our purpose, He will instruct us on how to fulfill it. But as we begin to obey God's instructions the enemy will try to get us the doubt and deviate from them; one of the greatest tactics he uses to do this is through voices that try to convince us to disobey God's instructions. This is the case for the prophet in 1 Kings 13 who let the voice of another prophet cause him to disobey a command that God gave him; this mistake cost him his life. Abraham also made this same mistake when his wife convinced him be disobedient to God's instructions; this mistake birthed Ishmael. But you don't have to deviate from God's instructions. You don't have to listen to the voices of people and the enemy. You can guard against the mistake that is detrimental to your purpose!
