Coaches getting suspended or fired!
Fans or players getting into fights!
Why? Because one team beat another by too much!
Almost every sport has some sort of "mercy" rule. But I think many go too far. Getting beat badly by a better team does not always indicate poor sportsmanship. Check out Coach Mike's take on mercy rules. Maybe you might look at the next blowout differently.

I see a lot of posts where people discuss and/or complain about a hitting coach, a pitching coach, etc. Before we complain, let's learn. Different kids respond differently to different coaches. Teach your son or daughter to be more versatile and you will be teaching them to be more valuable when it comes time to get recruited. Thanks for tuning in to Kidz n Sports and Coach Mike Now.

Coaches and Parents: Do you think it's right to be yelling at your players, you kids because they didn't play the way you thought they should today? Do you think it's OK to abuse officials over a bad call? You might want to think twice... no YOU MUST THINK TWICE! In looking over social media and youth sports chat rooms, I see too many threads about coaches and parents yelling, cussing out, even physically assaulting officials. I see too many threads about coaches and parents yelling at their players, their sons and daughters. I see too many threads about parents yelling at coaches.
This is not a new issue. But it has gotten worse apparently. It's time to take this seriously and STOP! People like to say that "climate change" is going to ruin their kids lives in twenty years. Well your behavior at your kid's sports events is ruining their lives NOW!
Those of you who know me know that I don't usually go on rants. But today... I'm on a rant. Please listen and share.

There are many topics to discuss with youth sports. One of my pet peeves is how young parents want to push their children to play travel or club ball. Travel ball is a big commitment, not just for the parents, but for the kids as well. I don't think parents often consider that part when they start. Today I'm going to discuss what age is a good time to start travel ball. I'm also going to share a personal story that I learned about my daughter when she was 12 years old.
