New York Times Bestselling author, and actress, Danica McKellar is well known for playing Winnie Cooper, from the hit series The Wonder Years, as well as starring in movies on the Hallmark Channel, and Dancing with the Stars. McKellar graduated at the top of her class with a degree in mathematics from UCLA and co-authored a theorem called the Chayes-McKellar-Winn theorem. Since then, her McKellar Math books have taught elementary to high school math concepts to students in a new way.
For out first episode, we talk to Dr. Jeanette Shakalli talking about her role at FUNDAPROMAT, the Panamanian Foundation for the Promotion of Mathematics and her efforts to advocate for mathematics in the Central and Latin American communities.
