Impostor syndrome, you have heard about it or you have experienced it.. Here is my story
Since the beginning of mankind, women have been vulnerable to violence. History paints us a picture, from as far back as the 700’s BC where legal guidelines allowed men to physically discipline their wives, the ‘rule of thumb’ was used as a guide for the instrument of discipline. Millennia later despite all the progress made in facets of human life, the statistics globally are staggering, 1 in 3 women will face violence in their lifetime and during this pandemic, it is estimated 31 million additional gender-based violence cases will be reported. Violence against women remains constant with little progress on its eradication. We can no longer refer to it as the silent pandemic, we must roar and be heard across the world. In this week's episode, I add my voice by briefly looking at some historical recordings and justifications of violence as well as briefly list the definitions of Gender Based violence.
