Nicodemus was a religious leader, but wasn't understanding what God was trying to tell him. Those of us who know Jesus as our savior, know that religion has nothing to do with it. Nicodemus came to Jesus by night because he was afraid to be seen with him. He acknowledged that Jesus was from God, called him a Rabbi and a teacher. He knew that Jesus was a good teacher. We were born sinners, we need to be born again, accepting Jesus as our savior. Repenting of our sins and asking Him in our hearts.

We have peace in our belief in Christ. Even if we get to the end and He doesn't exist, He still has helped our lives by believing. However, He does really exist, and we have the peace that passes all understanding. That in itself is a testament that He is real. Old Testament is the Old Covenant, blood sacrifice once every year. New Testament, New Covenant, Christ's blood sacrifice, once for all.

The church age was ushered in through Jesus Christ. We are that time where God is about to come back and get us. No one knows the time or the season. When He comes back, then He will deal with the Jews again, He's not done with them yet. There will be 144,000 sealed Jews. How are they sealed? The same way we are, through the blood of Christ. This all begins for gentiles in Acts 10.

We read an account from the bible about Jesus overthrowing the tables in the temple. These are not bible stories, they are scriptural accounts, they actually happened. Jesus stated that His father's house should be known as a house of prayer. We need to pray in the last times! In this time in history, we're living out prophecy. The government is trying to do away with any controversial issues that are coming up. The Bible contains the truth! These are controversial issues. There are those who do not want to embrace truth. You are either embracing truth or falsehood, that's it. If you have your own truth, and it goes against the truth, then you are embracing falsehood.

Eve was the mother of all living. Eve means "living". Some people believe that Satan is the father of Cain. The bible clearly says in Genesis 4:1 that Adam was Cain's father. It was not Satan. A lot of people approach the bible, seeing what they want to see. A good solution to that is to go directly to the bible and read it. John writes in John 8 that Jesus said that they were of their father, the devil. It's who you follow. When we are saved, Jesus becomes our father. The bible is true, the bible is literal, and it is not in contradiction to itself. If it appears that way, we need to dig deeper and get a better understanding of what the bible is saying. If it goes against the word of God, it's wrong!

The Bible tells us that the world will become as the days of Noah, when the Lord shall return. There is a countdown clock and we cannot be certain of how much time is left. The earth was corrupt, the earth was filled with violence. "And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth." He then instructed Noah to build the ark and gave him specific measurements and ways to build it. He told him to bring his family with him along with animals in the direction of which He said. He will make it rain. Noah proved faithful and righteous for all those years, in the face of constant ridicule.

When Jesus said "Woman" to His mother, it was not a form of disrespect, like the tone would be interpreted now. God works through emptiness and obedience. How much success do we find when we're still relying on self. CS Lewis said, the only way to fill the God shaped hole is with God (paraphrase). Once you have Jesus, you don't need anything else to fill that hole.

If things aren't going the way you expected them half way through the year, God is still in control. We must "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." We need to have this as our priority more than anything else in life. We need to crave it so deeply, we should be thinking about it and explore it. We are to seek first. What is it that we're supposed to be seeking? The kingdom of God and His righteousness. He is the King of kings and Lord of lords. There is only one gospel. To teach that there is one gospel for the Jews and one for everyone else, is to go against what the Bible says.

That should be a motive. He's entrusted that work to us. God's dealing with His children is always in love, even when he chasten us. He loves us with a perfect love. It's unconditional, it's unnatural, it's sacrificial, it's a perfect love. The same love that He had for His son and His son for Him. It's the essence of Christianity. He saved us so that we could express His love.

Continued from last Sunday's program, Pastor revisits the parable of the prodigal son. Today, he speaks on the older brother. Like the prodigal son, we have strayed from our father. We cannot keep the law. We sin. Each of us are guilty. One thing we are certain of, is that we deserve death. For the wages of sin is death. However, God still wanted fellowship with us. He came in the physical form of His son, Jesus Christ. He was tempted to sin, but never sinned. He lived His life drawing people, to His father. He died in our place on the cross, to pay for our sins.

He also represents mankind as he speaks to God on their behalf. We need to bring the hand of God and mankind together. That is the ministry of reconciliation. He gave us the word of reconciliation ... THE BIBLE! We are called, capable, and commissioned to evangelize.

The Jewish leaders were condemning Jesus for eating with sinners. Jesus used the parable of the prodigal son to speak to them about this. The father is the main character, he is centered as our rock and anchor. Even though he has provided our every need, we still turned out backs on him repeatedly, yet he is still there for us. Evolution is a myth that takes more faith than creationism takes. If evolution is a fact, there is no purpose for our lives. We're just part of the animal kingdom with no specific purpose. You're born, you live, you die, end of story. It's a bleak story, but thankfully, it's just a figment of someone's imagination. We do have a creator, God. Who has died for our sins so that we can join in Heaven one day.

If you are saved, you have nothing to fear about the upcoming events. We should be excited that soon we'll be home in Heaven. It also should excite us to witness to those around us so they can join us too. In God's measureless greatness, He provides blessings to those who bless Israel. But the opposite is true. If our nation continues to encourage Israel's enemies, we're going to start seeing more and more, God's hand. Now we're afraid to speak the truth as we're afraid of hurting ones feelings. The devil is having a hay day! Our nation is heading more and more in going against Israel. God will bless those that bless Israel and curse those who curse Israel.

We celebrate it, not as a sacrament, but as a church ordinance, along with baptism, that is meant to be a testimony of what God has done in our lives. We are showing that through the broken body, and the shed blood of Jesus Christ, we have come to the forgiveness of sin. Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin.

To believe on the name of the Son of God, is the key that unlocks the door. To believe on Jesus is to find rest in His name. This rest is knowing the peace that comes with the forgiveness of our sins. The Bible says that each of us are guilty of sinning against God. The wages of sin is death. Jesus has paid the death price in our stead. In order for someone to be truly saved, he or she must realize that they are guilty before God. You are a certain individual in God's sight, that He has plans for.
The word meet in Genesis 2:18, means fitting. Someone to complement him. Someone who was appropriate for him. Woman was taken from man. God took a rib from Adam and made Eve. How did that work? God did it! God was clear with His expectations. Eve listened to the serpent and ate the fruit, then gave it to Adam and ate it. Modesty is the same as honesty. The only way we can be right with God is to own up to what we have done and not try to solve it on our own.

But a storm still came. If the world doesn't take you out, most of the time the flesh will. Satan is last. He saves his effort till the first two won't work. If Jesus says come, He will provide a way for you to come. Once directed to proceed, don't take your eyes off the Lord. He will be centered on the goal, so it won't be hard to see if you're looking at Him.

To be in the midst of Him, it means to be so fully in Him, that He fills every aspect of your life that is empty. In the midst of Jesus is all fullness. The appearance of positive attributes of one that is saved, does not necessarily mean you are saved. We need to ask for forgiveness of our sins and believe on the Lord. If you owe a person an apology, just apologize. Don't say, "If or but" in your apology. Same with salvation. IF you want to be saved, don't say, "If I am not saved ...", ask for forgiveness and ask for salvation. Be clear in this manner. God's will and His word cannot be separated.

They're used to things coming quickly or not having to wait very long. The wickedness of one man caused the destruction of all Israel. Pharaoh himself. God always makes a way where there's a hard place. All of the men saw God's miracles. They saw God part the waters. They saw themselves going across the sea on dry land. They saw God drown the army behind them. They immediately started complaining. Isn't that just like us? We see answers from God, we are protected and saved, and then the next time we just start complaining again. God doesn't bring you places to die, He brings you there to rely on Him. God is always good. God is never wrong.

God does not want our hearts to be troubled. It's His will for our hearts not to be troubled. If our hearts are troubled, we're not in His will. God has His bests for us on His heart. God's word has always been and will always be true. It's as unchanging as He is. Heaven and earth may pass away, but God's word never will. God didn't want sin and death for Adam, and He doesn't want it for us either. If we're not careful, repentance can be another religious acts that does not get us into Heaven. Repentance needs to come with trusting on Jesus Christ. Once we have done this, there is an immediate change in direction. Folks do not understand the changes that are occurring in the born again individual. God is the god of all comfort! He shows us this in John 14:1. Let not your heart be troubled is not just a suggestion, it's a command. Words are powerful. Not only can they build a person up, they can tear a person down. We speak out of the abundance of the heart. A good man speaks of good things, while an evil man speaks evil things.

The Lord is always right, always faithful, always loving, and never wrong. Book faith requires the Bible and familiarity with it. I know there is a heaven but there is only one place that gives you evidence, the Bible. It's the word of God! Man wouldn't write this because they don't want to point out that man is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Salvation is eternal, you cannot lose it. Your salvation gets you into Heaven, but it doesn't help you live the rest of your life. When you got saved, you didn't get smart. Through our lives, we can get smarter and smarter and it begins with the reading the bible. When you open the Bible, you're feeding the spiritual side of your body, it allows the spirit of God to direct you. There are two other faiths that brother Overton talks about.
The Lord is always right, always faithful, always loving, and never wrong. Book faith requires the Bible and familiarity with it. I know there is a heaven but there is only one place that gives you evidence, the Bible. It's the word of God! Man wouldn't write this because they don't want to point out that man is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Salvation is eternal, you cannot lose it. Your salvation gets you into Heaven, but it doesn't help you live the rest of your life. When you got saved, you didn't get smart. Through our lives, we can get smarter and smarter and it begins with the reading the bible. When you open the Bible, you're feeding the spiritual side of your body, it allows the spirit of God to direct you. There are two other faiths that brother Overton talks about.

In these days, when there is so much opposition to the gospel, stick with the good stuff. Fight the good fight, finish the course, keep the faith, so you will be lifted up. Every good tree bringing forth good fruit. A corrupt tree brings forth evil. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit nor a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. You shall be known by your fruit. It is God's will that all should come to repentance. God has never kept it a secret how to measure ourselves. God gave Moses two stone tablets that He gave us the law on. This is summed up with the 10 Commandments. How do you measure up? James tells us if we only break 1 point, we are guilty of all. There is none righteous, no, not one.

We just believe it through faith. They that are in the flesh cannot please God. We are the children of God, then heirs, joint heirs with Christ. Hope that is seen is not hope. We know that all things work together for good to them that love God. We have each broken the law and are guilty before God. We each deserve separation from God and eternity in the fiery lakes of hell. However, those of us who repent and trust on Jesus Christ for our salvation, we will spend eternity in heaven, because Jesus paid the sin debt for us.

God created Adam and then Eve and they were intelligent enough to have conversations and name the animals. It was not a caveman mentality. God is a god of order. He abhors confusion (Satan is the author of confusion). The only being that can be born again, is the human. We are the only souls walking on earth. It is incorrect to say that I am a person who has a soul, no, we are souls. God is not about religion, He's about a fellowship. He wants there to be communication.

Try it, even though you've tried it before. There are sometimes that we try something and do not find success, is because God is not in it. Ask God for a miracle. God is not required to heal. It is not always God's will for one to be healed. Peter was always getting himself in trouble. He rebuked Jesus, and Jesus said, "Get thee behind me satan." Peter couldn't keep his mouth shut. He wanted to build a tabernacle for God, Elias, and Moses ... God spoke from the Heavens, and stopped him. Peter cut off the ear of a soldier. God still used Peter. The Pharisees had their own brand of righteousness. Our righteousness is like filthy rags, so we have our own as well. We might be made the righteousness of God. Jesus was made flesh and dwelt among us, so that we might be made the righteousness of Him. We're not what we're going to be but praise God we're not what we used to be. Live for the audience of one. As long as you're pleasing the savior, you don't need to please anyone else.

Just because someone is seeking after God, doesn't make them a Christian. If they have not come to that place where they repent.
