Another round trip around the sun has been completed and my favorite day of the year is here. #Year30 tested the very core and foundation of who I am and pushed me in a very big way to grow and recalibrate who I am and what I believe that I know. #Year30 showed me that holding on to the one who knows and makes all the plans is the greatest survival skill I can ever have.
As #Year31 begins, I am letting myself be free and be reminded that I went through something and came out unburnt and so whatever the future has in stock, I will be ready with the help of Almighty Allah. Ameen.

Over and over again, different names appear in the news and on social media as people are either severely injured or even shot dead by the men of the Special Armed Robbery squad unit of the Nigeria police for very flimsy excuses from wearing of coloured hair and dreads to having a laptop and sometimes an accidental discharge.
