We’re two guys who are passionate about ending the killing of pre-born children in Canada, and this is a podcast dedicated to giving you the tools you need to change minds and save lives from abortion. We work for a pro-life organization called the Canadian Centre for Bio-Ethical Reform (CCBR), and together with our colleagues have reached millions of Canadians with the truth about abortion.
Join us as we discuss all the pro-choice justifications for abortion and share how we navigate them on the streets with clarity and compassion. We'll also talk to leaders in the movement and experts within fields that impact the abortion conversation to hear their stories and learn from them!
With the 2024 US election just over a month away, more and more conversations about abortion are being impacted by politics, particularly the politics of Donald Trump. So, how do you respond when Trump comes up in your pro-life conversations? In today's episode host Cam tackles just that!
Regardless of whether you're a massive Trump supporter, a "Never Trump" advocate, or anyone in between, it is vital that we ensure our conversations about abortion keep the main thing the main thing: Can we solve the very real, and very difficult problems of our world by killing innocent humans?
In this episode, Cam talks through several strategies for how to pivot conversations back to the abortion crisis, how to think critically about imperfect politicians, and how to protect the lives of the weakest and most vulnerable.

Do pro-life laws kill mothers? The answer to this question has been the topic of discussion by mainstream media in the lead up to the 2024 American Presidential election with the news of death of Amber Thurman, Candi Miller, and potentially more mothers who tragically died after taking the abortion pill, though media personalities and politicians are consistently coming to the wrong conclusion.
In today's episode, host Cam breaks down what you need to know about these heartbreaking stories, and how you can navigate conversations about them to demonstrate that these tragic deaths are a result of the abortion pill, realities within any medical system (including those in pro-abortion states), and at times medical errors.

Central to conversations about abortion is when human life begins, and in today's episode, host Cam takes a deep(er) dive into how to talk about the science of human life.
The first step in establishing the importance of when human life begins is reiterating the human rights argument which includes the following questions:
Next, we'll offer clarifications, including at times tracing our lives back from our current age and stage of development to the moment of fertilization, before appealing to biological authorities and offering a more thorough understanding of the behaviour and composition of pre-born children which comprehensively demonstrate the presence of a new human life at the moment of fertilization.

Pro-lifers are confronted with a wide variety of justifications for abortion, and for many of us, we are tempted to either refute them by explaining why their justification is illogical, or to try and resolve the challenges brought forth.
In today's episode, host Cam talks about why we should avoid refuting altogether in an effort to win people while being pro-life ambassadors, and why we should be wary of trying to resolve problems before working through the foundational principle that we cannot kill humans to solve problems.

In today's episode, Cam talks through the importance of researching the pro-life statement (and who actually said it), how these media sparks can be used to start conversations about abortion, and how important it is to connect with these courageous men and women and thank them for the aspects of their statements we agree with and appreciate.

While many of us welcome the surprise of meeting someone who is already pro-life while doing activism, rarely do we know what to do once they tell us they are pro-life; so much so that we often just let these men and women walk away without even a follow up question!
In today's episode, Cam talks through a simple approach to how to engage pro-lifers through the simple steps of:
Through these four steps, we're able to solidify the positions of those we talk to, while also recruiting new members to join our pro-life outreach.

Pro-lifer advocates are often challenged with the question, "What about when the mother's life is in danger?", and regardless of whether this comes from a well-meaning pro-lifer struggling to come to terms with this crisis, or an abortion advocate using these scenarios as something of a Trojan horse, it is vital that pro-lifers respond with clarity and compassion.
In today's episode, host Cam talks through how to navigate these conversations to help those we're speaking to appreciate that while medical intervention can absolutely be appropriate, the mechanical intentions of that intervention entirely dictates whether a particular procedure is appropriate.

Pro-life ambassadors often ask me whether they should start their conversations by addressing the hard circumstances and other justifications surrounding pregnancy, or whether they should dive straight into talking about the humanity of pre-born children, and I really (really, really, really) think you should start by addressing the circumstances and justifications underlying their support of abortion, rather than starting with the humanity of pre-born children, central though it is to the abortion conversation.
I'd love to hear what you think, if you disagree or agree, and what your experience has been talking with those around you about abortion.

Some times when you are talking to an abortion advocate it becomes clear that they will not becoming fully pro-life (and maybe not even more pro-life) before the end of your conversation with them.
Maybe they need to reflect upon the question of whether we can solve problems by killing humans, maybe they need to research when human life begins, maybe they need to consider whether they are comfortable discriminating human rights based on a human's age or ability. Whatever the reason, we must also consider whether we can help bring about smaller shifts, even if we won't be able to witness a full shift.
In today's episode, host Cam talks about three strategies that can help generate meaningful break-throughs in yoru conversations, even if the person you're speaking with is unlikely to fully change their mind on abortion.

Is abortion appropriate if the childs parents wouldn't be good parents?
This is a question pro-lifers are often asked, either by those who doubt their own ability to provide a high quality of life for a child, those who are unwilling to provide a high quality of life, or by those who are considering people struggling with addiction, homelessness, or other life circumstances which may compromise their ability to provide a high quality of life for a child.
In today's episode, host Cam addresses each of these scenarios, and walks through how we as pro-lifers can speak with charity and clarity into each circumstance.

Many pro-lifers have been told that pre-born children are simply parasites, leeching nutrients and energy from their mothers.
While it can be tempting to try and explain how the relationship between mother and child is not simply one-sided, in today's episode, Cam explains how to address the underlying concerns which may be motivating abortion advocates, or simply those experiencing challenging pregnancies, to consider pre-born children to be parasites.

While many pro-lifers (and even many abortion advocates) have come to accept and embrace the public display of abortion victim images, there are still at least some who question the strategy, asking questions about the impact abortion victim images have on one's worldview, on their likelihoood of supporting various forms of legislation, and most often the impact showing these images have on people's perception of the pro-life movement.
In today's episode, Cam sits down with Trevor Polo from Protect Life Michigan to review and discuss comprehensive polling PLMi has recently conducted to answer the questions mentioned above.

How do you end a conversation about abortion in a polite way that keeps the door open for further thought and reflection? That's the topic of today's PLG Podcast episode!
We've done episodes in how to start conversations about abortion, and usually most episodes feature strategies for keeping conversations going, but what if you need to end a conversation, either because you need to get back to work or school, or simply because you've reached an impass in conversation that requires personal reflection?
In today's episode, host Cam talks through several reasons why you may need to end a conversation about abortion, before walking through the four steps necessary for ending a conversation so that the person you're speaking with continues to think towards the pro-life worldview.

A recent study published in Scientific American suggests that since the overturning of Roe vs. Wade in 2022 via the Dobbs decision, approximately 59,000 women have become pregnant through sexual assault in states where abortion is illegal regardless of the circumstances of the child's conception.
In light of this study, many pro-lifers are conflicted in their response, suggesting that these numbers must be somehow inflated or even else wondering if these laws might be illadvised. In today's episode, Cam talks through the crisis of sexual assault in our world, the need for greater protection for women, and tragically the urgent support for victims in today's society, before ending on how pro-lifers should compassionately communicate our shared conviction that these heinous crimes must be stopped, punished, and responded to in ways that support the victims, yet in ways which do not include killing the innocent child conceived through these brutal attacks.

Have you ever been well into a really good conversation with someone who supports abortion, only to have all the rapport and momentum you've built thwarted by a well-meaning, but poorly equipped pro-lifer who interupts you and says something less than ideal?
In today's episode, Cam talks about how to handle situations in which pro-lifers who haven't received CCBR's training jump in to "help" you talk to an abortion advocate. Additionally, Cam talks about how to challenge the pro-lifers you meet to become more effective in their engagement methods to optimize their pro-life outreach.

Many of the justifications for abortions start with pro-life ambassadors challenging abortion advocates to consider the lives of pre-born children, yet when abortion advocates attempt to defend abortion seemingly out of compassion for pre-born children when parents are given a difficult pre-natal diagnosis, pro-lifers can feel as though the tables have been turned, and that they are now the ones not caring "enough" for pre-born children.
In today's episode, Cam explores considerations around approaching these conversations, talks about a few common arguments that should actually be avoided, before talking about how common ground, analogies, and questions can and should be applied to help those we are speaking with understand that even in these situations, our compassion for a child can never lead us towards directly and intentionally ending their life.

For many pro-life ambassadors, we hear circumstances brought up in defense of abortion and immediately think of our own experiences, or those of people we know, and we want to share them to help those we are speaking with understand that even faced with daunting and seemingly impossible situations, there is hope.
In today's episode, Cam shares how personal stories can be shared in our conversations so that they don't come across as refutations or mere anecdotes, but rather true empathy and hope.

With much of CCBR's outreach happening at post-secondary institutes, we are often confronted with the question, "Should a mother who is on the cusp of getting her degree and launching into a career be required to throw it all away because she found out she's pregnant?".

For many pro-lifers, winning arguments about abortion seems nearly impossible, without even starting to consider if and how a person could be won to the pro-life world view through the process, yet it doesn't need to be this way.
In today's episode, host Cam kicks of this year of pro-life conversation skills with a deep dive into how to be an effective pro-life ambassodor.
Using the lens provided by Greg Koukl in his book "Tactics" (There's a give away, check it out!!!) of character, knowledge, and wisdom, Cam explores how we as pro-life advocates can set our conversations up for success by ensuring we approach them with the best possible preparation.

While helping a mother choose life for her pre-born child is the most important step for many pro-life advocates, few if any are naive enough to think it is the only step. Once a mother has said, "yes!" to life, what happens next?
With countless parents facing generation poverty, the road after the initial "yes" is often plagued with barriers and road blocks, many of which might push parents back towards abortion, whether during that pregnancy or during future one.
To explore the reality of generational poverty, as well as to start answering the question of how the pro-life movement can respond beyond a mother's "yes", Cam is joined by Marisol Rodriguez, co-founder of RENEW Life Center and author of "Beyond Her Yes: Reimagining Pro-Life Ministry to Empower Women and Support Families in Overcoming Poverty".

In today's episode, Laura joins PLG podcast host Cam to talk about her most recent episode in her "Exposed" series which focuses on In Vitro Fertilization and the hundreds of millions of tiny boys and girls killed every year through this practice which in many ways commodifies human life in a very different way than abortion.
In vitro fertilization is naturally a very personal subject for countless people around the world seeking to satisfy the very good and natural desire for children, including many within the pro-life movement. Florida AAP is finally back folks, and we want you to be a part of it!
For years CCBR has led pro-life mission trips to Florida in February, and while we haven't been able to for the last few years, we're excited to announce that we're going back in February of 2024!
Through this mission trip, we (and you, if you're able to join us!) will reach thousands of post-secondary students with the truth about abortion, while engaging in hundreds of heart changing and life saving conversations about abortion. This is without a doubt one of if not the best way to build your skills in having effective pro-life conversations, and in this episode host Cam chats with his colleague Vanessa Otten, one of the key organizers and recruiters for this mission trip, about why someone like you should apply.

Biking for Babies is a national nonprofit that proclaims the dignity of every human life by uniting cycling with the formation of young adults into missionary disciples of Jesus Christ. They facilitate an encounter between our young adult missionaries and the Gospel of Life which equips them with the knowledge of their foundational identity as God’s beloved. As they experience the joy of this Gospel, their missionaries are called to a radical gift of self in support of pregnant mothers in unplanned, difficult and at-risk pregnancies. Boycotting is a tool that special interest groups have leveraged for generation to apply pressure on companies, industries, or individuals in an effort to modify the behaviour of their target. Pro-lifers often consider engaging in a variety of boycotts towards companies which perform, fund, or otherwise support abortion, and in today's episode Cam talks through some helpful principles for if and how pro-lifers should engage in peaceful boycotts. For more PLG podcast content go to www.prolifeguys.comRather than posting the exact articles Cam did his research from, he encourages you to do your own research to explore how you can best effect change in your community.Join Cam and other CCBR leaders on a transformative pro-life mission trip this February in Florida! Last episode, Cam talked through CCBR's road map for progressing through pro-abortion arguments with empathy, clarity, and consistency, and this week he demonstrates how this road map can be applied to three different types of arguments, including:1. Mother-focused arguments such as when a mother is a victim of sexual assault. 2. Child-focused arguments such as when a child is diagnosed prenatally with a disability. 3. Principle-focused arguments such as bodily autonomy.

Do you ever feel lost in your conversations about abortion? Do you feel at times as though you are using different arguments almost at random in hopes that they might resonate with the person you are speaking with?In today's episode, host Cam talks through a roadmap which can help you understand where you are at when you are speaking with someone about abortion, and where you should be moving next in your conversation, so that you have both a natural flow, but also so that your arguments flow logically, building on each other so that you can change minds and save lives from abortion.Remember to like and subscribe to the PLG podcast on your favorite podcatcher, and help us reach 1,000 subscribers on our YouTube channel by subscribing at https://www.youtube.com/@TheProLifeGuysPodcast
While post-secondary aged women and men from across Canada continue to be CCBR's primary demographic for filling our summer internships, there has been growing interest among high schoolers for programing geared towards a younger demographic, giving them a voice in the fight for life on Canadian streets and door steps. To respond to this interest, CCBR has recently expanded it's programing from offering a single high school-oriented program in Toronto during the March break to now offering programs in Winnipeg and Calgary, and in today's episode host Cam is joined not only by Quiana Casamayor, coordinator for CCBR's Calgary High School Bootcamp, but also a number of boot camp participants to talk all about this incredible week! Please like and subscribe on your favorite podcatcher, as well as on YouTube at: https://www.youtube.com/@TheProLifeGuysPodcast

Canadian pro-lifers have unfortunately become accustomed to even the most basic pro-life bills being voted down in Parliament, including bills which would simply evaluate the scientific evidence for when human life begins, or bills which would restrict abortion when the only reason is that the baby is a girl.In today's episode, Cam is joined again by Scott Hayward, President of Right Now, to discuss MP Cathay Wagantall's recent bill C-311, entitled, "Violence Against Pregnant Women Act", and what pro-lifers need to take away from the debate and progress which was made. For more PLG podcast content, go to: www.prolifeguys.comFor more about CCBR, go to: www.endthekilling.caFor more about Bill C-311, go to: https://www.cathaywagantall.ca/pregnantwomenFor more about Right Now, go to: www.itstartsrightnow.ca
Pro-life activists are often confronted on street corners and door-steps with questions about why we don't start by fixing social problems such as foster care, teen pregnancies, and legal challenges parents are faced with, rather than focusing on preventing abortions. While this approach makes sense at the surface level, in today's episode, Cam talks through a number of reasons why this is not only unrealistic, but also inherently flawed thinking. YES, pro-lifers absolutely need to put their money where their mouths are, leading the charge in resolving the challenging circumstances so many parents around the world are faced with. Yet just like in every other social crisis, it will necessarily require a massive overhaul in public opinion for the solutions to ever match the need. Enter proactive social engagement through the educational arm of the pro-life movement. Education is vital, not only in awakening and mobilizing pro-lifers to contribute towards the solutions necessary to address the wide array of problems parents are faced with, but even more importantly to demonstrate to those who suggest abortion, the direct and intentional killing of an innocent girl or boy, that we must begin investing our time, treasure, and talent in solutions which avoid the intentional destruction of human life. Finally, and most importantly, we must reach mothers and fathers contemplating abortion with the truth that abortion kills an innocent human, and that we are far from having perfect solutions in place, we must approach these crisis' in the same way that we approach crisis' involving born children, with the best we can possibly offer; not by killing the child involved. This summer, CCBR's staff, interns, and volunteers are bringing Canadians in all 10 provinces face to face with the victims of abortion, allowing women and men across the country to connect on an individual, human level with the weakest and most vulnerable members of the human family. In today's episode, Cam is joined by Jonathon Van Maren, host of The Van Maren Show, to talk all about the "why" behind this heart-changing and life saving tour. For tour stops and info, go to www.endthekilling.ca/tourFor more PLG podcast content, go to www.prolifeguys.comSubscribe to the PLG podcast YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/@TheProLifeGuysPodcast
CCBR is excited to announce our "Faces of Abortion" tour this summer coming to a community near you!Over the last ten years, CCBR has grown from a single office in Calgary to multiple office across Canada with periodic excursions into other communities, and this summer we are excited to take the next step in mobilizing pro-life activists across the nation in pro-life outreach which specifically focuses on the faces of abortion victims. These new images will confront Canadians in a way which makes abortion far more real, presenting the victims as the personal someones they are, such that hearts and minds will change, pro-lifers will be mobilized, and the victims will witness to the injustice which ended their lives. For more information about CCBR's Faces of Abortion tour go to: www.endthekilling.ca/tourIf you'd like a CCBR team to come to your community, reach out to us at: email@prolifeguys.comFor more PLG podcast content go to: www.prolifeguys.comSubscribe to the PLG Podcast YouTube channel at: https://www.youtube.com/@TheProLifeGuysPodcast
Conversations about abortion often include analogies in which pro-life advocates "trot out the toddler", challenging the principle that we can alleviate one person's pain or suffering by killing another human being by asking if we would respond similarly if the situation involved a born human, rather than a pre-born human. But what happens when they believe you could kill a born child too?!?!?In today's episode Cam is joined by Blaise Alleyne, co-author of "A Guide to Discussing Assisted Suicide", to discuss how to navigate conversations where trotting out the toddler doesn't go the way you anticipate. For more PLG podcast content go to: www.prolifeguys.comSubscribe to the PLG YouTube channel at: https://www.youtube.com/@TheProLifeGuysPodcast

For so many post-abortive mothers and fathers, abortion is the culmination of years darkness and brokenness. Nearly church-goer has an opinion on how often the pastor should preach about abortion. For some, abortion should be talked about every Sunday from the pulpit. For others, it's already talked about too often. So what's the right answer?!?!

While pro-lifers can often engage in meaningful conversations unpacking how to best respond to the incredibly difficult situations parents are at times faced with, some times pro-lifers face sophisticated sounding pro-choice arguments which are really just terrible philosophy or biology.
In this episode, Cam breaks down how to respond to arguments like:
-The pre-born are just parasites
-Nobody knows when life begins/the science might change
-It's just a clump of cells

The intersection between pro-life education and politics is constantly present, and in today's episode, Cam continues the conversation regarding the radical constitutional challenge in Michigan by talking with Kristen Day, president of Democrats for Life, about the role pro-life Democrats and even some moderate abortion advocates can play in rejecting an amendment which would make Michigan an abortion haven in America if accepted.

In what feels eerily like a Helm's Deep-esque battle for the lives of Michigan's pre-born children, Protect Life Michigan, along with a handful of other pro-life organizations and groups, have risen up to defend the state's pre-born children against Planned Parenthood and their abortion supporting millionaires.
Today, Cam talks with Trevor Pollo, long time leader and team member with Protect Life Michigan, about the radical state constitutional amendment soon to be voted on which will not only strip the existing protection from pre-born children and make it nearly impossible to pass future protections for the weakest members of the human family, but which will surely serve as the sentry posted at the gate of nearly every other state with any protection for pre-born children.
Simply put, should the amendment be halted, it will be a tremendous act of defiance and a rallying cry for pro-lifers across the country that Planned Parenthood and their unbelievably deep pockets can be defeated. Should the amendment pass, Michigan will become one of, if not the most pro-abortion state in America, with Planned Parenthood only being emboldened to attack other states moving forward.

Sometimes conversations about abortion can feel like you are stumbling around in the dark, somewhat randomly rolling out arguments in hopes that they will resonate with the person you are speaking with. In today's episode, Cam talks through a simple road map that you can apply in nearly every conversation you have to ensure that you connect with the person/people you are speaking with, and have an intentional plan for how you will walk with them towards the pro-life worldview.
If you have questions or ideas that you'd like covered on future episodes, let me know on any of our social media accounts!

While having conversations about abortions there are often some pretty wild accusations thrown around, including the focus of today's episode, namely, "Do pro-lifers not trust mothers to make their own health decisions?!?!".
While it may be tempting to respond with one of several quick rebuttals, in today's episode Cam talks through some of the background behind this question and how to offer a clear and concise response.

Even before the overturning of Roe, abortion advocates frequently responded to the proposition that society can (and should) function without abortion with varying degrees of hysteria.
This has only been amplified since the Dobbs decision, and in today's episode Cam is joined by Josh Brahm of the Equal Rights Institute to talk about how to keep the conversation moving in a productive way when the person you're talking with is somewhat (or full-blown!) frantic about the idea of limiting abortion access.

For almost 50 years, abortion access has been out of the hands of the American people with the Roe v. Wade decision tying the hands of state legislators, yet the Dobbs ruling from the Supreme Court has turned that on its head, putting the decisions back into the hands of the people. Today, Cam is joined by legendary pro-life leader Mark Crutcher, president of Life Dynamics, to talk about what this means for blue, red, and swing states, and what pro-lifers need to know to protect pre-born children and ensure parents get the support that they need.

Why is the abortion rate so much higher among black communities than white communities in North America? Why does the Black Lives Matter organization support abortion so much? Do African nations actually want abortion rammed down their throats in the way Justin Trudeau and other western nations and organizations seem to think they do? Join Cam and Pieter as they discuss the book and the themes that abortion advocates have inaccurately associated with the pro-life worldview and the growing movement that seeks to ensure all humans receive the fundamental right to life. From what we hear, Bill Nye the Science Guy is a “man with a mission: to help foster a scientifically literate society, to help people everywhere understand and appreciate the science that makes our world work.” While this sounds great, his video informing us to stop telling women what to do with their bodies certainly leaves a lot to be desired. On this episode, Cam and Pieter walk through Bill Nye’s arguments and respond to them by showing the fallacies and inconsistencies of his argumentation. These are the same arguments we hear on the streets, so if you want to know how to respond well, then this is an episode for you.
