If you’re tired of going through the motions of an attendance-based faith, then discover what it means to live a vibrant, abundant life fully devoted to the God whose immeasurable love for you is based on His promise, not your performance. Recover faithfulness in your relationships. Learn to practise world-changing justice and radical generosity. And even amidst the struggles and imperfections of your ordinary life, embrace the extraordinary righteousness that is yours through Jesus.
God wanted His people to give so they’d live out, practically, the truth that they were merely stewards of God’s stuff, on loan to them. Is this still true for us today?
The fourth subject from our 'Conversations with God' series: Justice. Recorded at Thynne Road
So far in the series, we’ve seen the downward spiral that results when God’s people forget His love for them; they lapse into half- hearted worship, which causes broken relationships with those around them. The fourth conversation revolves around the people’s cry for justice, and God’s perfect response. How would you define justice? What kind of injustice makes you particularly furious? Can you remember the first time you felt unfairly wronged as a kid? God’s people in Malachi’s day asked God why the evil n
Third part of our Conversations with God series, looking at the book of Malachi.Recorded at Thynne Road.
The third conversation focusses on faithfulness. When we forget God’s love we can move into a place of unfaithfulness and a broken relationship with God can result in broken relationships with others. In Malachi 2, the word unfaithful crops up multiple times. Malachi challenges the people’s covenant-breaking unfaithfulness to God, and then goes on to point out that it has led to their unfaithfulness to one another (Malachi 2:10). God longs for His people to marry those who also love Him. He wants marriages
The second conversation between God and His people where He accuses them of lacklustre commitment to Him. When we have half-hearted devotion it is often the result of us losing sight of God’s great love for us. We still have a semblance of faith, but we’ve lost our blazing hot enthusiasm for God. Have there been times in your life when you’ve lived a churchy life, but your zeal has cooled off and you find yourself just going through the motions? God’s love isn’t based on our performance but on His promise.
New Series: Conversations with God - we listen in on six conversations between God and His people, recorded by the prophet Malachi. The first conversation God has with His people in the book of Malachi is about love (Malachi 1:1–5). God tells the people how much He loves them, and they immediately say, ‘How have You loved us?’ (Malachi 1:2) When have you found yourself asking God, ‘How have you loved me?’
The Prayers of Jesus - Jesus contemplates the cost he will have to make as his hour comes. Jesus prays for all people – Jews and Gentiles alike – what does it mean for us to really pray that others will know Jesus? And do we contemplate the cost to us, as Jesus did?
The Prayers of Jesus - The Raising of Lazarus is a very emotional account and Jesus is not exempt from the emotions. Maybe we feel like our faith is dead in a tomb – what will it take to pray that Jesus can bring it back?
Lent series: The Prayers of Jesus - we start with the best known of them all. Most of us know The Lord’s Prayer so well. How can we look upon this prayer with a fresh understanding and allow this prayer to increase our faith and trust in God?
