Eliza has been telling stories for a long time and had wanted to be a journalist since she was 10 years old.
Eliza originally moved to the Wheatbelt to work at the now defunct Avon Valley Advocate newspaper, but so much has changed since the onset of the COVID pandemic and she now finds herself in a completely different role, helping improve peoples lives.

Dr. Nonja Peters is an historian, anthropologist, museum curator and social researcher whose expertise is transnational migration (forced and voluntary) and resettlement in Australia.
She is the author of several books her first being, Milk & Honey But no Gold about post-war migration to Western Australia with lots about the migrant camps in Northam.
Additionally, she also has an exhibition on migration to Northam in the Visitors Centre in Grey Street.
Of Dutch heritage, her father started the local Sparta Dutch soccer club, and played in a band for CWA balls around the Wheatbelt.

Percy Johnson, who spent six decades involved in WA Football has died aged 88.
Originally from the Goldfields, Percy Johnson played 228 WAFL games with East Fremantle, Swan Districts and Claremont, winning a premiership with Old Easts in 1957 and playing the majority of his games in blue and white.
After playing, Johnson was a WANFL coach with numerous clubs and media personality with Channel 7 and 6PR.
His contribution to football will not be forgotten.
