The Forward Pass is back for a second season talking all things Rugby Union here in WA.
Originally started by Eamon Murphy and Conor Brennan back in 2016 in an effort to promote the club game here in WA.
Eamon is now in Port Moresby for work but with his blessing we are up and running for a second season
We still have Connor Brennan at the helm with Orlagh ryan at his right hand.
In this episode we will cover;
- Return of the Force
- Super W Competeition
- New club competition format
- New Zealand import to Arks Rugby Club
- A trip around the grounds
This was recorded on Fruday 9th but due to technical difficulties it is being published on Sunday 11th.
So our technical issue's have been well documented, and this week nothing has changed, but it got there in the end.
The episode is a shorter one, given there is no super rugby this week, and a competition by for the local comp.
Conor and I have a little chat about the current status of the table, particularly around the 4th spot on the ladder with 3 teams really pushing to consolidate that spot in the finals.
Conor and I will be taking a little break, whilst he is back in the Emerald Isle for a few weeks. Will hopefully also allow me to get our recording equipment set up properly again.

Big news! Our guest this week was able to give away the 7 secret herbs and spices that is the key to beating the Nedlands premier grade side. Steele West from the UWA coaching staff joins us and he talks to us about the recent changes in the UWA form and all things going on down at the club. We were lucky to have Steele join us for the hour, he has a very good rugby brain and offered some very good insights. All the regular segments and it turns out you are better off investing your money with Conor and I as I goo over some of our betting stats, as i managed to brake my drought over the weekend. a good episode, we apologize for the sound quality, my laptop is getting a service next week hopefully that will be fixed. We have a good chat about the local competition and what is going down at UWA.
We give a shout to the WA woman's team - you may remember Bec Clough and Lou who have appeared on the show? They have been selected to represent WA and the national womans compeition, and we place a couple of "Hail Mary" bets in try and help them on their way (check facebook to see the bets)

We are almost back to full strength this week.
Conor was out last, feeling unwell after a heavy knock from his game. I unfortunately have a small head cold this but we will march on.
So we have finally uploaded Conor’s little knock from Kalamunda to our facebook page, so check that out.

We are working on getting a certain Prop from the Western Force on the show very soon, we just need to establish a convenient time for all.
We had a little technical hiccup during the show at about 16min mark, my WIFI here in Darwin dropped out and we have had to make a few edits.

After 10 weeks, we finally have some local rugby content to focus on!
We have a look at the first round of fixtures, give our predictions for the games taking place this weekend.
We are going to start to try and get these podcasts under 30min, this will be difficult as Conor like to ramble, and I like the sound of my own voice, but we will do our best to start to get these down to under 30min.

This week we were invited into Han's Sauer home to record the episode.
Han's currently sits on the Rugby WA board, and prior to his appointment to the board he was President at Nedlands Rugby Club for 3 years.
We had a good chat with Hans about his role on the board, what he thinks the future of rugby will be in WA and try to get a better understanding of the influence that the ARU has over Rugby WA.
Conor was quick to inform me that he has progressed in the Superbru global tipping rankings, and he as some good local news from the pre-season trials taking place

Last night we had a little bit of a mix up with our guests, but fortunately we were able to convince Hugh Davis (Cottesloe Club Captain) Lou Grey (Cottesloe Shegull and ex-Scotland international) to stick round after their committee meeting and have a chat with us.

Hi Guys, Each week Connor and I will be hosting a podcast, talking all things Rugby Union looking at the local competition, Super Rugby and the International series as they take place. We will be running a punt of the week, as we attempt to raise some money for a local charity. Connor and I will each pick a bet and place $10 on a result and see who has the better knack at picking a winner. This episode is unedited as we just wanted to get this first episode out.
