We will bring you to the world of our beloved Network formed around the alumni of the European Law Students' Association (ELSA).
Welcome to the ELSA Alumni Podcasts!
In this special bonus episode, I am talking with Tiago Mayan Gonçalves, a well-known figure around ELSA circles. Tiago was former President of ELSA Portugal as well as ELS, the predecessor association to ELSA Alumni. He now serves in the Advisory Board of ELSA Alumni.
We will be talking with Tiago about his latest political initiative. Grew up in the second largest city of Portugal, Porto, Tiago recently founded a political party called Iniciativa Liberal (Liberal Initiative). This party managed to elect an MP to the parliament and yet participated in the latest Presidential elections held in January 2021. Tiago was selected as the candidate of his party to become the President of the Republic of Portugal. Tiago shares many details about his experience turning from a "normal" lawyer from Porto to a public figure and his future ideas.
Disclaimer: This episode has not been recorded to endorse any political views but simply to have a chat with an alumnus who went through an interesting experience.
