This Sunday saw the start of our new series on The Lord’s Prayer. Stephen showed us how this ancient prayer, found in Matthew 6:9-13, gives us such clarity when we don’t know what else to pray. It shows us how best to pray from the one who prayed best.

Tom explores the concept of holiness, emphasising that it is not about rigid rule-keeping, but rather about worship and embracing our true identity. Holiness enables us to engage with the world, becoming agents of positive change and transformation through our relationships, actions, and influence.

Holiness is a journey of transformation, facilitated by the Holy Spirit. Simon helps us see that we are called to cooperate with the Spirit's guidance, align our lives with God's purpose and imitate Jesus. Holiness is not achieved through self-effort alone but is a result of God's grace working in and through us.

‘God provides the fire but we provide the sacrifice.’ Being a Christian isn’t always easy. It’s a lifelong surrender to God, trusting in Him and continually pursuing His holy fire. Emily helps us to see that If we want to live holy lives we must make the choice to offer ourselves to Him daily, asking to be filled afresh with His holiness.

‘His instruction is His mercy and His commands are His kindness.’ Stephen explores how holiness is not being well behaved or morally right. Jesus resurrection means that God has the final word. His promises are true and dependable. Sin is atoned for and justice is served.
Simon reminds us on Easter Sunday that these things are of first importance to us. Easter is the time light and life dispel and cast out the darkness. Jesus knows you and calls you, and invites you to meet with him.

Jesus has risen from the dead. Eternal life is available for all of us. But how can we be sure? Jesus wasn’t in the tomb on Easter. Jesus was with people after the resurrection. Seeing Jesus transformed people. Stephen encourages us that we can trust Jesus because He has risen. Our sin has been dealt with and the risen Jesus is proof, and as a result we can have resurrection life too.

Simon reflects on the significance of Good Friday, and how the suffering that Jesus endured was no accident. A willing sacrifice, a choice to suffer and pay the ransom we deserve. Jesus’ suffering is foundational to our faith and when we respond and are moved by the cross we are brought home to God. This was the only way to save those He loved.

If we want to consistently host the glory of God in our everyday lives, then we must be willing to let go of our pride and dignity just like David. Will takes us on a deep dive into God’s glory and how it doesn’t rest on status, success or reputation.

The cross is like a diamond, there are many different facets to be encountered. Stephen helps us understand the transforming power found in the cross and how it empowers us to be compassionate, forgive and have hope through what Christ did for us.

What does it look like to be a people who postures ourselves daily in seeking the presence of God?
We see in 1 Kings 8 how Solomon calls on the Lord for he knows that there is no point without him. Because of the gift of Jesus, this is something we can do daily. Seeking more of his presence and responding to Him coming close into our lives, our church and our community.

Your attitude to money is one of the most important things about you. It reveals your priorities, your hopes, your fears, your desires, and your longings. Jesus reminds us that if we seek first his kingdom, then all of these things will be given to us.

The Lord’s hand is with you. As Stephen unpacks Acts 11 we learn about the ways in which God was moving in the Church of Antioch and how it impacts us today. How might we see God move powerfully in our churches and communities?

Sometimes in life it can feel as if worldly fear can take over and push God out of the picture. However, the more we fill our hearts and minds with the awe of who God is and his love for us, the less space there is for these fears to land.
An antidote for worldly fear is fear of the Lord, recognising his holiness, power, majesty, and grace grips us with deep and overwhelming reverence for him.

Emily helps to remind us that the only way to cling to what is good, is to be led by the love of Jesus. Taking a look at Romans 12:9-13 we see that the practical outworking of this love is kindness and hospitality towards others.

What is this ‘Love in action’ that Paul talks about in Romans 12:9-13?
Mark describes this as a covenant love, a faithful love, a love which reflects God’s love for us. It’s a constant love, it’s practical, honouring and it’s devotional.
We’re called to share our very hearts with people and that can be demanding. In order to action this type of love fully we need to be filled by the Holy Spirit who restocks and replenishes us, lighting the fire for this sincere love in our hearts.
Our society is inwards focused, however in the kingdom of God, the focus is no longer on ourselves, but on others. The hallmark of a life transformed by Jesus is their generosity & humility. Simon reminds us that God is a gift giver and that we in turn are to use those gifts for others. Romans 12:6-8
We all have different gifts. Why? Because God loves us, he’s gracious and gives them to us. Emilie reminds us that the gifts we’re given are not for our own benefit but for the formation and expansion of God’s kingdom here on earth.

Who am I? Who are we? Paul poses two big questions in this passage which help us discover who we are in the light of our ultimate standard Jesus. Mark unpacks how we all have a unique function, bringing glory to Jesus’ Body - his Church.

In Romans 12: 3-5, Paul encourages us to think again about our identity as children of Christ and the church as a one body. Is our identity formatted by the world and culture we live in or through the eyes of Jesus? Simon invites us to have a Jesus rethink.

As Jesus washes his disciples’ feet, we see the upside down Kingdom of God: a kingdom where love rules and empowers us to humbly serve the people around us. Nemi Wilton shares of the power of the love of God.
John 13:1-17
“If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit.” All true fruitfulness comes from proximity to Jesus, and our fruitfulness grows as God prunes us. Stephen reminds us of God’s kindness in times of pruning, and that we are deeply connected with each other and with Christ through the storms of life.
Jesus destroys our final enemy: death. Dan explores how God, who suffered for us, gives ultimate meaning and hope to our suffering today.
Jesus says “I am the resurrection and the life”. What does that mean for us as followers of Jesus today? Mark explores how Jesus’ power to defeat death gives comfort, meaning and hope to the darkest and most difficult moments of our lives.
“Don’t live for anything other than an encounter with Jesus.” Will reminds us that loving Jesus and living to please him is the ultimate aim of our lives.
John 5:39-44
Simon encourages us to break out of the approval junkie mentality, instead spending our lives receiving the honour of our Heavenly Father as we in turn honour his son Jesus as our Lord.

How do we love like Jesus? How do we show his truth and compassion? Emily explores how we need to continually come as we are to him, living under the waterfall of his grace and love.
“The Christian life is predicated on the understanding that Jesus has the authority to teach us and direct us and for us to obey.” But obedience isn’t easy: so why do we obey God, and how can we do it well?
John 2.1-11
"Truth isn’t a concept to be debated, it’s a person to be encountered." Stephen encourages us to look to the truth that sets us free from the lies that cripple us.
“Behold the lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the world.” Here is Jesus, the lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world and meets our deepest needs in the process.
Generosity is one of the marks of a follower of Jesus: but we can only give because God has given so outrageously generously to us. Simon unpacks the marks of the generous Macedonian church in 2 Corinthians 8:1-16.
In a time of great uncertainty, the thing that marks us out as Christians is our confidence in the unshakable Kingdom, and the almighty King who reigns. Stephen reminds us that we can have confidence in King Jesus, and know him closely wherever he has called us to.

Simon Ponsonby reflects on the extraordinary life of Queen Elizabeth II and the eternal King she so faithfully served.
Psalm 116:13-16
Prayer is the most important thing we can do with our lives, and when we pray we become peace-filled people, whose peace flows over into people around us. Stephen encourages us to return to prayer, and be amazed by what God does as a result of our prayers.
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 2 Corinthians 4:7-18
Speaking to his disciples, Jesus promised that the Holy Spirit would be with us forever. But who is the Holy Spirit, and what difference does he make in our everyday lives? Stephen encourages us to be holy, which is only possible because the spirit of the sovereign Lord lives in us.
John 14.15-26
We can’t pray come Holy Spirit if we’re not prepared to go with the Holy Spirit. But the Spirit gives us power and boldness and freedom to go where he leads us. Let’s be re-filled with the presence of the Spirit this Pentecost as we walk with integrity in our daily lives.
When we are filled by the Spirit, led by the Spirit, and transformed by the Spirit, our lives will naturally witness to Jesus. This Pentecost, Simon encourages us to be filled by the Spirit, and transformed to be individuals who live wholeheartedly for him. Acts 1:8 “You will receive power when the Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the Earth.”

The best news the world has ever heard, came from an empty tomb. Simon explains why Easter is a reason to uncork the Champagne: our sins are forgiven through the cross, death is defeated through the resurrection, and Jesus is revealed as Lord of all.
What do we do when life turns dark? Looking to Jesus’ final interactions with his disciples in the garden of Gethsemane, Mark encourages us to remain faithful to the one who never abandons us.

"…And I began to reflect that evening whether, after 30 years of being a disciple, I was amazed by Jesus, or whether I had lost my first love and my relationship with Jesus was rather predictable and dutiful…
Did Jesus still amaze me or just employ me? That evening, as I drew near to Jesus, he drew near to me. I felt my weariness begin to melt away. The next day I began to write this in my favourite cafe in Oxford, I wiped away the tears as I meditated on Jesus and marvelled again at who he was and what he had done.
The sermon was very different to my usual writing or teaching, but I consciously didn’t want to clutter up my reflections with clever quotes, witty quips or rhetorical challenges. I just wanted to speak of Jesus and wanted others to see him and know that he is amazing…”
